The U.S. Government Supplied ISIS’ Iconic Pickup Trucks

George Washington's picture

U.S. counter-terror officials have launched an investigation into how ISIS got so many of those identical Toyota pickup trucks which they use in their convoys.

They don’t have to look very far …

The Spectator reported last year:

The [Toyota] Hilux [pics] is light, fast, manoeuvrable and all but indestructible (‘bomb-proof’ might not, in this instance, be a happy usage).  The weapons experts Jane’s claimed for the Hilux a similar significance to the longbows of Agincourt or the Huey choppers of Nam. A US Army Ranger said the Toyota sure ‘kicks the hell out of a Humvee’ (referring to the clumsy and over-sized High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle made by AM General).

***

The fact is the Toyotas were supplied by the US government to the Al Nusra Front as ‘non-lethal aid’ then ‘acquired’ by ISIS.

Al Nusra Front is literally Al Qaeda.

Public Radio International – an American public radio outlet – also documented a specific shipment of Toyotas by the U.S. State Department in 2014:

Recently, when the US State Department resumed sending non-lethal aid to Syrian rebels, the delivery list included 43 Toyota trucks.

Hiluxes were on the Free Syrian Army’s wish list. Oubai Shahbander, a Washington-based advisor to the Syrian National Coalition, is a fan of the truck.

“Specific equipment like the Toyota Hiluxes are what we refer to as force enablers for the moderate opposition forces on the ground,” he adds. Shahbander says the US-supplied pickups will be delivering troops and supplies into battle. Some of the fleet will even become battlefield weapons.

That’s exactly what happened …

What the FUCK does your statement have to do with "Hilux" Toyota pickups?  What the FUCK does your link, to your website, have to do with the UNITED STATES Govt providing direct support to terrorist organizations with hoping they will topple a legitimately elected govt of a foreign state?

FFS, piss off!

Iron is an element present in abundance in the body, particularly in the blood, where it is part of the protein that carries oxygen from the lungs to the tissues. Iron is also highly reactive with other molecules, so the body keeps it locked up tight, bound to molecules that prevent it from wreaking havoc on the tissues.

...

"The free radicals cause proteins and cell membranes to tie in knots," Schweitzer said. "They basically act like formaldehyde."

...

Schweitzer and her colleagues found that dinosaur soft tissue is closely associated with iron nanoparticles...

I've been wanting a Hilux for a long time.  Unfortunately the US has implemented  "common sense truck control" to the point you cannot even get a diesel off-road-worthy pickup or SUV.  You have to settle for the gasoline equivalents or some piece of shit highway towing pickup.

Since they may not be sending them to the ME any longer, I'd like to place an order for my helecopter money drop:

3 Hilux pickups (green would be nice, with bumper mounted winches and off-road tires)

3 pallets of ammunition (5.56, .308, 9mm, 40, 45ACP)

3 suitcases full of FRNs (to be immediately converted to shiny metal coins)

Grid coordinates for the speed-ball delivery will be forthcoming, or just send it attention to Sgt Shaftoe, and be careful to not scratch the paint when you push them out the back of the 130.  Thanks in advance.

Having personally experienced two different ULSD vehcles in the past few years -- unless you go big (e.g. Cummins) you do not want a diesel vehicle in the US, Hilux or no. Thanks to CAFE the engines are built too lightweight, and thanks to ULSD the fuel lacks lubricity so the parts pretty much grind themselves to death (hence all sorts of high pressure fuel system issues.) To make up for that, they spec out crazy motor oil performance requirements so a simple oil change is nearly a $200 affair even for a DIYer.

Sucks, but stick with gas or stone-age diesel (80's era mechanical injection Mercedes and old Cummins stuff.)

"thanks to ULSD the fuel lacks lubricity so the parts pretty much grind themselves to death (hence all sorts of high pressure fuel system issues.)"

Not exactly true.  The ULSD now has minimum lubricity requirements - something LSD never did.  Anyway, add 1/2 gallon of TC-3 2 stroke oil per 100 gallons of fuel and you are way beyond the recommendations from Bosch to keep your IP happy.  One of my trucks still has its original VP-44 after 208K miles.  I attribute that to the bio diesel the previous owner used (and an upgraded lift pump).  The CP3 in our newer Cummins has never had an issue either.

On our tractors I use a cup of used 5W20 from one of our gas vehicles (per tankful) to keep those in top shape.

It's not the way the newer engines are built that kills their longevity and performance - it's the EPA mandated smog reducing systems.  Do we really need an EGR or DPF for a diesel engine?

Hilux is ok but I prefer the V6 4 litre Tacoma. My mechanic says he's never had to pull one if those engines yet.

I even hate his traitorous anti-American Admiral daddy (was dead the last time I checked, but could be among the undead?), who covered up the attack on the USS Liberty for LBJ.

A real American would have resigned before doing such a vile and heinous action.

(I also hate McCain's sister who married into the Morgan family --- as in descendants of JP Morgan --- which might be why that douchetard gets away with so much?)

It's looking like there's a pretty good shot he won't get re-elected (or that the ballot tampering will be very obvious) his next term. He's been censured by the state and county level parties, his support of Hillary is pretty well exposed, and he's got a credible primary challenge coming.

Seriously, everyone but the outright senile in his home state want him gone.

Former defense sec. Donald Rumsfeld: Here’s his reply: Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tend to be the difficult ones.

Toyotas are death traps. If the accelerator doesn't lock down on you and cause a run away the air bags are likely to go off and kill the driver with any nearby mortar fire. Consider this QE for the japanese automakers and a continuation of our policy of spreading infected blankets.

USNATO was considering the use of Al-qaeda to fight ISIS. I wonder how good they are at being middlemen?

And now, strangely enough, Al-qaeda wants to wage war on that scary nation that the USNATO coalition refuses to cooperate with in the War on Terror. Can they really afford opening up another front? Truly incredible those five trained fighters.

it fits in with the theme of profit for the corporations. The weapons dropped in the middle of nowhere still had to be paid for, and that money went to the bomb companies, etc. So it is with the Toyotas as well. Why do you think the terrorists are all wearing basketball shoes?
