I agree, what a scandal the email server is!  But not because it is too vulnerable... because it is not nearly vulnerable enough!  I want someone with the balls to put their full unredacted shadiness on a public freaking web server.  I mean, just last week they declassified the presidential briefings from 53 years ago.  Even that was redacted to the hilt.  There should be a rule that if you can release the full unredacted shit from 50 years ago, you probably shouldn't be doing it in the first place.  Obama promised to release the Bush torture emails, but he reneged on THAT promise.  What a bitch.  Bush and Cheney would be hanging in the Hague.  Not that we'll ever sign into the International Criminal Court.  Especially after being convicted of state sponsered terrorism by the International Court of Justice in the Reagan years.

I think that what Sanders was trying to say is exactly what this cartoon implies -- who cares about the emails, when the real issue is that Hillary is part of the machine that has fucked all of us.  No rational human being could support Hillary who represents more of the same.  Of course Sanders is also part of the machine, as are Trump and all of the rest of the national candidates.

Not this candidate.  My AG will put the screws to the mafia, aka, establishment.  My Sec. of the Treasury will restore that department to its rightful place and the Federal Reserve will be repudiated and all that implies.  We will work with a certain gentlemen from Oklahoma to track down and end corrupt programs, departments, officials, and employees.  We will replace the CIA and drastically reform the NSA to strictly limit its activities to those actually necessary to protect this country's citizens from outside aggression.  Corporations (and foundations) will be treated as the people they are - taxed accordingly, monitored just like every other citizen, and put to death (literally the entire company including the board and majority stockholders) when found guilty of crimes that warrant such a sentence for an individual.

Further, we will welcome international investigations of international crimes committed by American agents and cooperate in the apprehension, prosecution, and punishment of said criminals.

And a whole bunch of other stuff but we all know TheReplacement would be killed well before any of this could be carried out.

Sanders is actually a pretty smart guy. In carrying out his orders from the DNC, he still got his point across for those intelligent enough to grasp the subtext. What did he actually say...

The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn e-mails.

(So think about what this means if Hillary gets four more years in the public eye. 48 more months of scandals.)

Sanders is a complete nut job who learned to say and believe anything and everything the la la land shit heads in Vermont wanted him to say and believe.

He's originally from NYC area but had to buy into the irrational as hell idealism rampant in a rural state supported by tourism and wealthy transplants wanting it to be nirvana.

Trump is a complete lunatic as well thinking he's Superman fighting for "TRUTH, JUSTICE AND THE AMERICAN WAY"

It isn't going to happen kiddies.

So we devolve into a situation of complete pandemonium which will probably result in several states leaving the Union soon.  Like Vermont.

i believe we will have a military coup regardless of the election with the new president only serving to placate the masses as it unfolds.   In fact it was expected under Obama which is why he was elected.

With the help of MSM, Hillary is winning the perception battle.  Instead of "official communications, many of them secret, that are the property of the government" are simply "emails."

Hell, we all send emails.

It just hit me today why Hillary really might get charged criminally: Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills, and Sid Blumenthal.  It's pretty unlikely those three are above the law, or else the intelligence community would go apeshit.   They're guilty of the same felonies as Hillary (all four could be charged with additional offenses unique to them, but the overlapping offenses alone are enough for jail time).  So when the FBI eventually refers charges to the DOJ, it's not going to be just Hillary that's referred.

So the DOJ is in a bind - how do you defend prosectuing Huma, Cheryl, and Sid but not the person who, with premeditation, facilitated and condoned the security breaches?  Especially when Hillary's number of felonies will be much greater than any of the other three individually.  If DOJ/Obama is intent on letting Hillary skate, they'd have to let all four skate.  I don't see how that happens without a revolt in the FBI, Intelligence community, and probably even among the DOJ rank and file that aren't political hacks.

If this were about Hillary, and Hillary alone, I wouldn't expect that the law apply to her.  But that's my point.  I don't see how her apparatchiks escape this though, so how does DOJ possibly defend ignoring her far more numerous crimes?

(I thought from the very begining they should have rounded up everyone who mailed her outside the firewall and said "You are going to jail, period...so tell us why you did this and we will have room for a deal."   Then work it right up the ladder.   And not to mention the obvious - show up with a knock warrant backed up by 50 agents and seize the server day one.)

There was no hardware firewall. That server was conneccted directly to the internet with remote desktop services enabled. Total amatuer hour. Any fifth grader who found it by doing ip and port scans could have forced their way into that server. You can be damn certain that such a high value target that did not even have a simple hardware firewall was accessed by more than one foreign government. If there had been a firewall it would have been impossible for it to be directly connected to the internet. Let's say her ISP (Internet Service Provider) was Comcast at her home. She would have a (hopefully) business class modem which would have maybe 5 ethernet ports to connect devices to the internet. Typically with a business class modem a block of static ip addresses would be purchased. Let's say her block of ip addresses were 20.20.20.20 through 20.20.20.24 (this example is simplified). Let's say an ethernet cable was attached from the server to an open port on the Comcast modem and the server nic was properly assigned the static ip address of 20.20.20.20. This is an external ip address and can be communicated with by other devices on the internet. Anybody doing an ip scan that came across a ping response from 20.20.20.20 would know that there is a device online at this ip sddress and it is quite simple to figure our what it is and find a way to access it. This is basically how her email server was attached to the internet. The server operating system likely has a firewall but those are not nearly robust enough to halt hackers.

How it should have been configured was the server ethernet cable should have attached to a hardware firewall then the hardware firewall attaches to the modem. The hardware firewall gets assigned the external ip address of 20.20.20.20, gets configured to limit connections to the network from the internet and also configures a local subnet for communication between devices behind the firewall. So the local subnet scope may be 10.10.10.1 through 10.10.10.254. The server nic would be assigned a static ip address in the local subnet scope and its ability to communicate with the external internet would be managed and protected by the hardware firewall.

The liklihood that her email server was hacked by foreign governments is extremely high due to it being directly connected to the internet without the protection of a hardware firewall and due to its high value as a target of foreign governments. The stupidity of connecting a server directly to the open internet cannot be emphasized highly enough. Apparently these morons did not want to deal with the hassle of connecting to a vpn. This also means that all traffic to and from this server was unencrypted.
