NATO Member Turkey Shoots Down Drone Of Unknown Origin On Border With Syria

Tyler Durden's picture

Over the course of Russia’s involvement in Syria, the tension between Moscow and Ankara has grown steadily.

In short, NATO-member Turkey has accused Russian fighter jets of violating its airspace as they buzz the border on the way to hitting anti-regime targets. The escalation of hostilities between the two countries now threatens to derail billions in trade and energy deals as Erdogan recently warned Putin that Ankara may go elsewhere for its natural gas needs.

Ultimately, it isn’t about Turkey’s airspace. It’s about Ankara wanting Assad gone and Moscow wanting Assad to remain in power and indeed, the US is already using a Turkish air base as a kind of forward operating center for bombing runs, meaning NATO may well use Turkey to float conflict trial balloons to see just what the West can get away with in terms of challenging the Russians in Syria (incidentally, Erdogan has an election coming up in two weeks and a key part of the push to restore AKP's absolute majority in parliament is scaring the public into believing that Turkey is under attack and only a strong government can save it). And here's proof of that assessment:

  • US OFFICIAL SAYS SUSPECTS DRONE WAS A RUSSIAN DRONE: RTRS
  • UNITED STATES SUSPECTS THAT PLANE SHOT DOWN BY TURKEY WAS A RUSSIAN DRONE AIRCRAFT - U.S. OFFICIAL TELLS REUTERS

With that in mind, consider that just moments ago, Turkey shot down an unmanned drone that Ankara says violated its airspace:

  • TURKEY MILITARY SAYS SHOT DOWN AIRCRAFT AT SYRIA BORDER
  • TURKEY'S NTV SAYS SHOT-DOWN AIRCRAFT WAS UNMANNED DRONE

And here's the official statement (Google translated):

Today nationalities in our country's airspace at the border with Syria has been detected an unknown aircraft, although be warned three times on continuing to move our aircraft performing patrols on the border by the rules of engagement it has been reduced by fire in the frame.

Turkish Armed Forces is implementing with determination in the framework of the duties assigned to rules of engagement. "

Meanwhile, it was determined that lowering the unmanned vehicle.

Russian planes had previously violated the Syrian border Turkish airspace.

Yes, it has been "reduced by fire in the frame."

So basically, Turkey just shot down a Russian drone. Or at least that's the way it looks, as it would be peculiar if the Turkish army somehow didn't know the locations of US drones in the region.

From Russia with love:

  • RUSSIA SAYS DRONES IN SYRIA FUNCTIONING NORMALLY: RIA
  • RUSSIA SAYS ALL PLANES IN SYRIA RETURNED TO BASE: RIA

The lira and the ruble are not happy:

  • RUBLE EXTENDS DECLINES AGAINST DOLLAR, DROPS 1.1%
  • LIRA EXTENDS LOSS VS DOLLAR AFTER STATEMENT FROM TURKEY ARMY

Look out, because this may very well be the event that takes the "proxy" out of Syria's proxy war. All eyes on what, if anything, Moscow - and NATO - will respond with.

Here are the images from the scene, one of which apparently shows part of the wreckage:

Isn't a drone a type of proxy? So I fail to see how a drone can take the proxy out of a proxy war. If anything it makes it proxier - the proxiest being a drone shooting down another drone.

I should probably copyright those two...

From the size, it has maybe 20-30 minute flight time and line of sight only control though the antenna sticking out the top indicates it's probably 27MHz. It's off the shelf RC kit technology anyone can build. It's not an Orlan-10. You can see the crocodile clip on top of the engine, that's there to heat a "glow plug" which indicates it uses RC fuel containing synthetic or castor oil.

Seriously this is someone's RC toy. False flag and a crappy attempt at one at that, or a "home made" rebel fighter drone.

1. first image shows people in a hilly area other images are of a flat area

2. Third image clearly shows bush beside the back tire of the heli image 2 there is no bush

3. There are people in images 2 and 3 of normally dressed people walking around.

4 blades of heli are in different positions (maybe the engines were whining down it just an observation)

5 its funny in image 1 that no one is looking at the wreckage, Okay one guy is kinda glancing in that direction. what is everyone else doing there. and why are there civilians nest to it?

I can't seem to see the up-curled wing section in the distance shot that is shown in the close-up.

And, the distance shot of the drone also shows more rocky ground than the close-up shot does.  The distance shot seems to suggest that one should see rocks next to the "drone" in the close-up, but the close-up only has dried grass, no rocks visible.

Turkey and Syria are no enemies.  Turkey needs war in Syria like a hole in the head.   Turkey was booming when things were quiet in Syria. Now tourists are scared and do therefore come  not in the numbers expected.

Business with Syria stopped, lots of refugees in Turkey, Nato is stirring up things in Turkey trying to keep Erdogan in line. Turkeys military is divided, parts of it are loyal to Erdogan and parts are controlled by Nato.

There is nothing Turkey could win with the war in Syria. Or does anybody think that Turkey was part of the game and would have received a share of the blunder?  Why should that be the case? Israel would be the biggest winner, followed by France and UK. The US would have firmed their grip on Kurdistan, so Kurdish resources would have been US - for ever.

No more Syrian state as it exists now = The now still Syria owned Golan Heights with Lake Tiberias (Israels biggest water resource) and lots of oil would become Israel owned. Oil production at Golan Heights started already.   Syria would be divided and Israel would grasp the best part which is vital for them.  When Syria stays as it is now, then one can expect sooner or later that Israel has to give back the Golan to Syria and that is the last thing Israel wants. Destroying Syria would also destroy Hezbollah in Lebanon, so that Israel would get rid of their only formidable resistance.

The plan is to destroy Syria,  divide it in nice chunks and give a shit about the population, whether in Syria, Lebanon, Turkey or Kurdistan or anywhere around except Israel.

Erdogan might become soon the same persona non grata as Assad is now.  Terrorist acts might soon be more frequent in Turkey. It would be logical,  given Erdogans close cooperation with Russia and nowadays also with the EU. That is nothing the empire wants to continue. Assad was cooperating with Russia and now Erdogan is doing the same. Turkey might soon share the fate os Syria, its all in the cards.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/world/1.677188

Turkey and the EU and Russia are working together now in the open. That is a geopolitical shift. Whether the US nor Nato nor the UK do have a saying in it. Only France is part of the deal somehow since France is part of Schengen. But France has no choice. All other Schenegen members do want the deal with Erdogan.

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/turkey-wins-favourable-terms-eu-exchange-helpin...

Turkey is the most unstable part of this new deal. So one can expect a lot of surprising action in Turkey within the coming months or otherwise the empire is becoming slowly obsolete in the Mediterrean.

The only thing left then is the Suez Canal which needs still the cover of the empire to ensure the flow of goods.

You are correct to a degree in that according to Scripture, we, the US, have been give over to a reprobate mind in a series of degenerating steps shown in Romans 1:18-32, we have crossed the "death cross", where God gives the nation over to our own devices; it is the point where He removes His restraints (because we first abandoned His ways) and allows us to go our own way and that is always downhill.  We are witnessing the beginning of it, which is the scary part, for it only gets more absurd from here in ways we once thought we unimaginable has become reality...has anyone noticed?

You mean Arab children and Arabs are fighting back, for there is a region called Palestine, but no such thing as a Palestinian, that implies such a nation exists; the term is new only to recent history.  There are plenty of Arabs living in the region called Palestine and if the Arabs really loved their brothers and sisters then they would give up some of their nations land as a "love gift" to establish a nation that can be called Palestine.  That would solve most of the issues.

As far as the murder of children; no one does it better than the US in places named "Planned Parenthood".  If one is pregnant, it is a baby and human at that.  Pro choice is simply the liberty to murder an unwanted baby legally; that simple.  I digress.  People everywhere devalue human life and history proves it is true across the globe and across the landscape of time.

1) A bullet or two in the wings followed by crash?

2) Or at high velocty smashing into a catapulted rock ?

The destructive power of rocks is not the problem, it is the accuracy of them.

What??? Only 2 government schills on duty this morning. Well lets ask them, they are so honest and knowledable. The unquestioned authority.
And they are so hard to distinguish among the crowd seeking truth I barely noticed they were here! Let us never underestimate the US .gov strategy with such covert skill sets on display!!

Monetas and Message, what would we ever do without your insightful, trustworth,y authoritive, sensational, opinions?

The official version says about a 'unknown aircraft', later found to be an 'unmanned vehicle'. Then 'Russians planes had previously violated the Syrian border Tuskish airspace"
Well... According to the general Western anti-Russia hysteria, if that drone were any Russian, the news would have been - with very high-pitched loud voice : 'Russian drone! Russian drone! Badrussians!

Is that a Russian drone or not?

Funnily, the Tuskish airforce is very keen to show off its drone-shooting skills. (Maybe they actually shot down the entire PKK airforce)

They were less prone to show off when a unknown MiG-29 scared the shit off 8 Turkish F-16 by 'locking them up' for 4 abnd half minutes a couple of days ago.

I don't know if knocking some kid's airplane down counts as a drone shootdown.

You know the way out of all this goofed up madness is simple.

Disconnect from sites like this and live your life as true to yourself as you can.  There is an addictive nature to all this to wanting to know what's going on but I will tell you point blank that all this same nonsense has been going on since goats were a form of currency.

Live a true life as best you can, think clearly, love deeply. don't get attached to things or people.

Your wanting for things is your prison if you look at the rich and say, "Why not me?" you have already lost.

Count yourself lucky when you don't care how much others have because that is the only true freedom there is.  I like stuff as much as the next person but if you quest after it then the quest begins to rule you.

Doesn't matter if it's a girl, a car, a house, a job or whatever it is.   Those who have that sickness the worst and are the most cunning with the most guile and least concious rule us and they ALWAYS HAVE!

They rule us because they want to more than we want to rid ourselves of them and this will ALWAYS be the case.

The spiritual conundrum of fixing this is like trying to rid the earth mules.  You can exterminate all of them tomorrow and the next day you could see one pop right back up.

The leason of life is to live life.  Others don't play fair so if you play just know that you will have to sell your soul and play for keeps to play in that arena.  How much is your soul worth?

It's a test, a spiritual one if you play the game you lose automatically.

The proof is in what this country has become, from the most noble roots has sprung the leading canditate for the most materialist nation on earth.

You can not win this game of things unless you don't play but that's not sexy so carry on.

:)
