I saw a few stories a couple of years ago that had the following general theme. (not in any American MSM organ however)
CIA was conducting operations in Libya after Gaddafi was overthrown. The US was concerned that many of the MANPADS (Man-portable air-defense systems)were floating around and could potentially fall into the wrong hands and be used to take down aircraft (civilian maybe?). Stevens was leading the CIA operation to mop up (buy up) as many of the MANPADS and other assorted weaponry from local insurgents. Much of that weaponry was then to be loaded unto a Turkish ship parked in the Tripoli port. That ship was to then transit to Turkey and the weapons to then make there way to the Anti-Assad forces that were fighting in Western Syria. Coincidentally the US was actively supporting "moderate" anti Assad forces (as evidenced by John Mccain's now infamous picture with the Syrian "freedom fighters" who were later linked to actually being members of ISIS.) So the theory is that the US bought up the weapons to fund ISIS which as some suspect was actually created and funded by the US, along with Saudi support to then fight a proxy war with Iran, Syria and Russia. This is reasoned conjecture but probably closer to the truth than a damn video caused the attack.
the reason that no real action came out of the hearings is becuase both Demons and Repugnuts knew the truth but were in fact just using the hearings as political theatre. The R's were trying to make Hillary look bad without "compromising" national security while the D's were just trying to not look so incompetent. Nothing was going to come of this Because Boehner and the Prez knew what we were really doing. The hearings continue to be political theate. Until they openly declare why Stevens was doing the the theatre of the absurd will continue.

My bet is, it will be a non-event. They will be very polite and bend over backwards to appear even handed when questioning her - nothing like the way it was tried before.
UNLESS they really have some bombshell to drop, which I doubt but is possible. Either way, it will be interesting to watch.

It is a web site devoted to politics in SC, where politics is a blood sport. Now this is a Republican leaning site, and the commentary was pretty bad on him there yesterday. One called him a Super Cuts test model, and several pointed ou that he has been drawing a government check his entire career. If I had to bet on the winner in tomorrows hearing with cash money, it would be on Clinton.
