good morning, ladies and gentlemen...WildBill and distinguished guests...visiting dignitaries and noble personages...to the scum-bags, out-casts, pariahs, misfits...and to everyone enjoying the luxury of hyphenated status...not omitting cripples and freaks and mutants...everyone, great and small, i bid you all a good morning.

i'm going all big-tent with my appeal and approach today because this message is an epistle threshing out an universal theme.  never once at any point in the proceeding polemic will any person of any kind find within the following anything to satisfy some expectation that janus menace their precious little feelings.  this post will be thoroughly sanitized for the hyper-sensitive ninnies that dominate public dialog.  yes, i know -- many have come to depend on janus for the kind of cruelty that keeps NGOs and do-goodery factories well-endowed and underwritten by nitwits.  i can confidently promise that those aggressively sensitive readers will meet with disappointment...and to those of you prone to hissy-fits, who expect from a janus-post the kind of justification requisite for histrionics of fevered paroxysms and epileptic spasms of indignation, well, again, i'm sorry to disappoint.

okay, let me qualify that guarantee not to offend ever-so slightly.  as i sketch this thing out in my mind, i can already see that it's going to be all but impossible to do this piece justice without including a rape joke or two.  and so, small disclaimer: if you are offended by rape jokes, you may in the following find some small excuse to fume -- fair warning.  it is, after all, a piece on family values, and it's only natural that i address the topic in some fashion.

so, without further ado, today's epistle on families and societies and the values that underpin them:

"chickens and western civilization"

one of the disadvantages of uber vs. the cab is that uber basically discourages tipping...the only people who tip are the awesome people -- superior in every regard to their peers, persons deserving a lot of great karma.  anyway, i sought to find from this unpleasantness some corresponding advantage.  it didn't take long and i'd come upon a satisfying measure to mitigate the loss of gratuities; being that i would not go out of my way to make my passengers feel good about themselves if i felt they shouldn't.  in other words, if janus puts you in the scales and finds you wanting, there is a very good chance that you're in for a life changing experience a-la my patented "Dialectic of Doom" (TM), in that there's no potential tip to balance out an identified and unacceptable defect i've detected.

i bring this up because it was during one of my DoD sessions that the wiles and ways of cocks, hens and chics were recalled to mind.  in the course of spanning some of the yawning chasms gaping the thinking of an otherwise charming but altogether misguided phd. student at the...drumroll...yup, you guessed it, harvard kennedy school of sociopathic sanctimony, i was right in the middle of breaking her spirit and splintering it into a heap of shards, making her confess that the hated and detested Christian missionaries had far and away surpassed all of harvard's best efforts in africa, and that this uncomfortable truth was both demonstrable and enduring.  and let me tell you bitchez something, watching an idealistic neophyte bolshevik confess to themselves and with their words that missionaries, of all the people they loathe the most, had actually achieved results...and harvard is only left with the rusted hulks of swell-sounding projects strewn across the span of the land...well, let me say it like this, i was very gratified to watch that portion of humble pie go down the harvard hatch.

but as to the relevant theme, it was near the end of my diatribe that i told her the literal translation of mobutu seze seko's name...{now i get a chance to google it and see if i'd told her the correct name of the despicable african despot...yup, proud to say that memory served -- it was mobuto}.  when i told her that his name, literally translated, means 'the rooster who won't leave the hens unruffled'...in a more literal manner of speaking, 'the cock who won't stop raping the hens'...lil miss harvard phd. kennedy school blanched a bit; but i meant it to punctuate a point; namely, the missionaries were very clear in their intent and earnest about their motives -- they sought to radically transform the culture.  harvard wants to do the same thing; but they think that by somehow mingling an esteem and reverence for their barbaric and savage traditions, investing in them a hatred and all-encompassing acrimony for anything 'colonial' (read: white), handing out birth control, coca cola, anti-retro-virals and a few water pumps that the materialist dialectic would take care of itself, women's basic dignity would be respected and maybe, just maybe, their dictators would stop openly advocating, participating in and glamorizing unconsensual intercourse (read: rape).

60 some-odd years these people have had their way in the dark continent and it's resulted in the wide spread belief that aids is cured by raping virgins...and just to be on the safe side, better make sure they're young enough to be virgins and repeat the process until the cure takes.  heck-uva-job, cambridge.

i thought about capping my remarks with a reminder that John Harvard (whose statue still somberly oversees his limping legacy) established the school for the express purpose of missionary efforts.  then again, the sting of the double-irony may have completely done her in...and i was feeling sorry for her by this point.

in any event, it just so happens that the janus family have, once again, taken to chicken husbandry.  it was many years ago, back in the central alabama sticks, that we established our first flock.  few among our family's experiments have yielded such marvelous and wonderful results.  all of us loved the birds; each had their few that for them meant something; the eggs were plentiful; and on occasion i'd cull a bird for BBQ.

but i don't want to paint too rosy a scenario.  mobutu was right, cocks are rapacious rapers.  seriously, a cock spends his entire day doing one of 4 things -- eating, crowing, raping and fighting (in that order).  there is additionally no romance whatsoever in the world of fowl intercourse...it's a savage and furious affair, and the hen has absolutely no say in the matter...one moment she's chasing a worm across the yard and the next, well, i don't want to get too graphic...let's just say that seduction is not part of a rooster's game.

moreover, i don't want the reader to assume that hens are innocent victims.  hens are just as wicked as cocks; only, in their own peculiar ways.  for example, the 'pecking order' is established through a merciless process of, well, pecking.  they will peck and torment one another until certain submissions are achieved and dominance among their ranks is cemented.  if any hen steps out of line, they start clucking up a storm and chastising the insolent bitch with vicious peck after peck after peck.  and if you think that a hen's protective instincts extend to anything but her brood, you better think again...hens will happily and enthusiastically murder another hen's chic...especially if that chic happens to be weak or injured or slow of wit.

chics are about the only form of innocence you'll find in a well-tended chicken run.

taking all of this into consideration, when deciding how to go about this next phase of chicken raising, it was determined that we should do it cockless.  inasmuch as it was clear that we could not train our cocks to stop crowing at obscenely early hours (i like to sleep in), nor could we convince them that rape was not an acceptable way to go about reproduction, and mrs. janus never liked it when i culled chickens for BBQ by wringing their necks (nearly all the birds i decapitated were cocks), we composed our new flock exclusively of hens...which is a bitter-sweet bargain: you eliminate the ghastly behavior of the cocks, but in the exchange you lose the fuzzy/cuddly cuteness of baby chics...and you're left with nothing but a bunch of clucking, hen-pecking cunts.

time for a cig and intermission...

now, where was i?  ahhh, yes, family values.  like i was saying, chickens are all about family values.  for the past few weeks, as they've molted the fuzz from adorable little puffs of obnoxious cuteness into the first feathers signaling the terminal hen-phase, we've kept them in a box in my eldest son's room.  the time has come to construct their coop, and janus has involved janus jr. in the design and construction of the project.

with respect to the basic design, my concept took the day.  that is not to say that i bullied my son into accepting my idea...it is only that, mine was clearly the better option.  seeing that the buffeting wind would be our principal concern, i suggested that we construct a triangular design, angling its point straight into the face of the prevailing gales.

now, my mind and thinking is basically anglo/scot with a strong frankish influence.  i trust the brit side of my brain, but i encourage the aesthetic emphasis from whatever is french in me. even so, i do envy the design/engineering mind found in nordic lands...my son seems to have a very german mind -- got it from his fascist hen-pecking mother.  the point is, if the disposition of your thinking is decidedly anglo-saxon, a fine german mind can come in mighty handy from time to time, especially when it comes to detail work...and so i've assigned him the detail work -- you know, tasked him with making everything function properly, premised (of course) on my initial genius concept with the triangle and all.  which works out perfectly...those germans go absolutely mad for details, and janus jr. is no exception.

i really do love being a father so very much.  i quite literally get a buzz from very simple interactions with my boys; and when it comes to unimaginably complex and herculean undertakings like chicken-coop-building, janus is just flat-out ecstatic.  tossing ideas back and forth, planning, balancing the competing concerns relevant to the construction, chatting about the construction itself.  it must suck to have shitty kids...i wouldn't know.  and i'm impressed, for a lad that's done very few projects (when he was a kid he had very little patience for my insistence on 'measuring twice/cutting once' and all that shit) he has many keen insights and a real enthusiasm for all of it.  initiative in boys makes me proud.

and, as time goes by, i look forward to mornings sharing a cup of joe with janus jr...chatting about the ways and wiles of hens...collecting a few eggs for breakfast, and marveling over what an amazing young man i'm about to unleash on the world.  he's a year away from his freshman term at some top-notch university...i'm both despondent and excited at the prospect.  his potential is unlimited.  he's an outstanding young man.  i couldn't be any more proud -- and i don't say that in the cliched way...i really couldn't be any prouder.  i've done a lot of fucking up in my days; but i somehow got the janus boys right (by the Grace of God).

this all brings me to the moral of this epistle/polemic.  no matter how 'evil' or 'colonial' or what-so-have-you this makes me, when i observe behavior in nature, and particularly when i'm sharing said observations with my sons, i place an emphasis on what lessons can from said observation be extracted; and i make it clear that humans, being superior among all earth's creatures, are to learn how to be more human in deriving wisdom from the primal ways of nature; that it is there to instruct and not emulate.  that beasts are only such; that in advancing beyond the limits imposed by instinct on their behavior, we by that advance become their masters and, hopefully, continue that advance as individuals and a species.  chickens only eat, crow/cluck, rape and fight, and all of their interactions are both limited to and associated with those behaviors...all of which is why we eat them and their eggs, they sleep in coops and scratch at the ground, we sleep on matressess overlooking cape cod all while defending their coop from the wild predators.  all of which is to say, i encourage my sons to emulate this world's Galileos rather than mobutus...africa would do well to do likewise -- it's not racist, it's the advance of civilization that is the right and advantage of all mankind -- an advance which has, tragically, been confused and conflated with the notion of race.  thank God my anglo ancestors sought to simulate the civilized world rather than a bunch of superstitious druids.  {any of you dungeons & dragon types that want to romanticize the druid shit...spare me...i'll take Vivaldi and Newton and Milton over bunch of bawdy mead-hall maniacs chasing around tree fairies any day}

i think harvard may do well by investigating the nature of mankind and creation on occasion...compare and contrast the two...you know, take a break from maslows  hierarchy of needs and whatnot -- the fresh air may do you some good, losers.

No doubt.

So anyways, finally someone is connecting some dots on Crony-Commie Hillary!...

“You got a lot of emails from Sidney Blumenthal, and you say that Mr. Blumenthal was a friend of yours, and he had your person email,” Westmoreland noted. “You say Chris Stevens was a friend of yours,” he added as Clinton nodded in agreement.

With the number of email’s from Blumenthal, one could be forgiven for assuming they would find countless emails from Stevens as well, especially considering the number of times the ambassador requested extra security for himself and his staff.

Why didn’t Ambassador Stevens reach out personally to Clinton?

“Did he have your personal email?” Westmorland asked.

“Congressman, I do not believe he had my personal email,” Clinton admitted."

...Sidney Blumenthal had her personal email account while her "good friend Chris"...did not? I think we can now safely assume every email she ever got from Chris Stevens was among the tens of thousands that she...deleted.

"My good friend, Chris."

Wonderful and scary at the same time WB - again.

Old Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times". Yep, we sure do. The USA has created the most fucked up scenario for Europe that can be imagined - and it is just 'collateral damage" in the failed effort to oust Assad so our allies (oh fuck me) can get a gas pipleine through Syria.

I just wanna scream at what my country has become.

if we live long enough, the history books on this period should be like reading the bible on acid. nuke war has a  recent thread on ZH that is depressing, for we all know our (mankind) biggest problem..insanity of leadership..commiting the west to suicide.
