DOJ Closes Lois Lerner Investigation Without Charges

Tyler Durden's picture

Confirming once again that the U.S. has full devolved into a total banana republic, moments ago CNN reported that the US Department of "Justice" is closing its two-year investigation into whether the IRS improperly targeted tea party and other conservative groups. There will be no charges against former IRS official Lois Lerner or anyone else at the agency, the Justice Department said in a letter.

The DOJ's finding:

The probe found "substantial evidence of mismanagement, poor judgment and institutional inertia leading to the belief by many tax-exempt applicants that the IRS targeted them based on their political viewpoints. But poor management is not a crime."

"We found no evidence that any IRS official acted based on political, discriminatory, corrupt, or other inappropriate motives that would support a criminal prosecution," Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik said in the letter. "We also found no evidence that any official involved in the handling of tax-exempt applications or IRS leadership attempted to obstruct justice. Based on the evidence developed in this investigation and the recommendation of experienced career prosecutors and supervising attorneys at the department, we are closing our investigation and will not seek any criminal charges."

They must have searched real hard, especially once they found all those deleted lost emails.

CNN adds that the IRS mishandled the processing of tax-exempt applications in a manner that disproportionately impacted applicants affiliated with the tea party and similar groups, leaving the appearance that the IRS's conduct was motivated by political, discriminatory, corrupt, or other inappropriate motive.

So now we know that in addition to insider traders working for SAC, targeting conservatives is, according to the DOJ, also not a crime.

What is a crime? Blowing the whistle on the Big Brother state, where every single electronic communication among US citizens is processed and recorded in perpetuity.

Now that is nothing short of treason.

And now back to your regularly scheduled market meltup which at this point may last forever: after all, it is only a matter of time before the DO"J" pulls a page out of the Chinese playbook and decides that selling any stock is also a criminal offense punishable with years of hard time.

This is a huge deal that will pass right by both the main stream statist media and average citizen. This is Don Obama, consiglieri's Holder and Lynch saying a loud but silent "Fuck you, America!" with a big fat finger in your face. They are saying the same things the stupid fucking GED cop who pulls you over for a revenue traffic stop says, "I am the law, son, boy, bitch!"

On economic matters many might point to the 1913 Income tax amendment and establishment of the Fed as the beginning of all things evil concerning economic central planning and the empowering of the state (economically). I will point to this as the beginning of the end of the rule of law and even at least a minimum fucking appearance of law. They are not even trying to fake it, any more.

I will tell you first hand that after the 2012 Obama reelections that a huge number of conservative candidate donors got IRS notices, including me. It wasn't just this tax exempt stuff. Coincidence? Only if you are a leftist lemming. I had a major bond trading friend who survived but has left the country.

This is exactlly how you enable autocracy. You have an all powerful bureaucracy because you stupid fucking statists empowered it to do "good" and now it will be used by the not-so-nice and not-so-morally-superior government class to cement power. Meanwhile, the theoretically small government Republicans will sit around wringing their hands and making execuses as to why they cannot do anything to stop it.

You really have to be completely lobotomized to believe the complete bullshit stories of Lois Lerner, John Koskinen and the crashed hard drive. Only stupid leftist who WANT to believe it buy that stupid ass story. In my company we are warned even about deleting emails that can be used for govenment compliance checks, much less crashed hard drives. Let's see...who had that unsecured hard drive and deleted email problem???

The next time I get an IRS notice I plan to just tell them that I am my best friend, Loretta investigated me and after our thorough investigation we found "Not a smidgeon of corruption". While we perhaps made some errors, I now know that errors are not against the law so I cannot be prosecuted for bad management of my taxes. I would look into it farther but unfortunately my hard drive crashed in a chance collision with a magnetic baseball bat. It could happen to anyone, really.

Therefore, they should just leave and reference this case.

THIS. The original Tea Party was to oust incumbent, life serving republicans. The ones in charge quickly changed that to, "We have to oust those mangy democrats, that will make america great again."

I shit you not. I was trying to run for my precinct chair of the GOOP party in 2014, trying to make a change and get the knuckle draggers reading some Spooner or Mencken. The treasurer of my county wanted to have lunch with me to see where I stood. The tea party came up and she asked where the tea party started and what it wanted to do. I told her it was started by Ron Paul to drive out the big government republicans. She quickly cut me off and said I was wrong, it was started by the faith and family foundation to drive out democrats and elect more republicans. Lunch ended there. I ended up losing by 35 votes but probably a good decision not to get involved with those low lifes.

I can tell you they also hate the Tea Party. The Tea Party actually does not stand FOR anything. They have no doctrine or ideology. They are mostly against a general idea that the country is going to hell fiscally and governmentally. The problem is that they are not controllable and you cannot make a deal with them. However, they are the most powerful in the R party not because of money but because they have the energy and passion. They will do the door to door and organizational stuff that can tip elections.

Sat, 10/24/2015 - 13:43 | 6706609 Encroaching Darkness
Encroaching Darkness's picture

Not accurate. The modern Tea Party (not the 1770's original) was created by decades of contempt: the contempt of elected officials for those who elected them, along with contempt for honor, decency, basic mathematics and justice. It was crystallized (after a fashion) by a rant, carried on TV, by one Rick Santelli, who said we need a new Tea Party (after a reflection on bail-outs, financial misbehavior and so forth). Those who felt Santelli had captured a moment of insight began organizing somewhat.

The Tea Party DOES stand for something: smaller government and lower taxes. Others might add on rule of law, property rights, real justice before the law (as opposed to what just happened with Lois Lerner) and Constitutional restraint of the Federal Government. Past that, you can start adding other causes, but they really are not what drove the Tea Party to form.

We have found out from bitter experience (increasing debt, various House votes, various Senate votes, etc.) that the Republican Party is currently captured by special interests who benefit from a bigger government; the mission has now added removing RINOs from office, in order to get smaller government / lower taxes. No one who follows politics has any faith in Boehner, McCarthy, Ryan, McCain, or any other RINO to do what this country needs: cut taxes, downsize the government, and restore property rights (Kelo vs. New London, anybody?). If it takes votes, we will vote out every RINO there is, one at a time if necessary. If it takes pitchforks ....

But we will win eventually, either way. We get smaller government / lower taxes by voting out all the RINOs and Democrats who refuse to see reality, or they stay in office - and the whole system collapses, with the collapse of the dollar. The first will be prettier, but either way, once no one has a job and the dollar won't buy anything, there's gonna be a smaller government and lower taxes! It won't be any fun to watch the second way, but it will be exciting (briefly!)

If anyone today did what Nixon did back then, the response would be, "Well, DUH, who DOESN'T do that?"

Just look at William Jefferson Clinton.  I have no problems with him getting a blowjob in the White House.  Hell, if, when confronted with the evidence that it happened, his response was, "Aw hell yes I got a hummer.  What's the use of being president if you can't get the perks?", I would have had some respect for the guy.  But, no, he lied about it and, on top of that, he lied in a legal deposition.  And what happened to him?  Jack shit is what happened to him.

Now look at Jon Corzine.  He very obviously broke the law when, at best, he commingled clients funds and then disappeared them.  I don't even know if there was even the sham of having an investigation for that before everyone said, "Nope, nothing wrong here."

The law isn't made for people like Lerner, the Clintons, Corzine, the Bushes, Cheney or any of the so-called elite.  The law is made in order to control us.

And as far as what all these NON-EUROPEANS are doing in EUROPE, well I think this Swedish woman singer really puts it all in perspective, it is interspersed with news footage of riots in Sweden.

Inadvertently opened a piece of well-disguised junk mail and saw the ultimate in sleaze...former US Senator telling me his "best advice for a better life", contrary to what some people might think, is for me to sign up for a reverse mortgage now that I'm past 62.

Sound too good to be true?

Not at all, says the "former US Senator"...I'll get cash every month and still "own" my home!

Amazing!

Where do I sign?

About ten years ago, near the peak of the housing bubble someone on an FNM stock board told me I was being "stupid" and "greedy" (somehow; that one perplexed me) for "hoarding" the equity in my home, which I bought in 1984 and paid off over twenty years ago. He said I should extract the equity and spend the money. I said, "I already spent the money. I bought my house with it."

For over 10 years I worked for a very wealthy guy at a very small tech company. One of my most memorable moments was when a governor/senator called with his hand out looking for campaign contributions. For arguments sake let's say this call came in around 10AM. My boss said - ok I can write you a check, but you have to pick it up in person and I'm leaving the office for a 2 week trip at 2PM today. The guy showed up in time to get his check - and he really had to cover some miles - probably needed to hop a private jet to make it.

Trump is the best one running but immigration has changed America, an example:

An American Defense Worker Writes On Korea, Donald Trump, And His Harvard Korean Questioner 10/19/2015

Donald Trump: “Are you from South Korea?”

Joseph Choe: “I’m not, I was born in Texas, raised in Colorado.”

There is more to this story. Joseph Choe is also in another YouTube where he asks Japanese Prime Minister Abe about the long-running anger that Koreans have towards the Japanese Military’s sex-slave policies 70 years ago during the Second World War.

You can watch the exchange below. (Notice how he is wearing the same hoodie!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmKP51JHU2Q

Joseph Choe: “…this has to do with a topic which weighs heavily on my heart. As someone with ties to South Korea I know that the issue of comfort women has been a source of contention between my country and yours…”

Ron Machen Jr closed out the DOJ investigation into Lois Lerner before he was re-hired to Jamie Gorelick his old boss at WilmerHale, that was one of his golden parachute mandates from Jamie before hiring to the firm for a 10 figure salary. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/apr/1/irs-lois-lerner-wont-be-c...

Ron Machen Jr also gave Jamie's old firm Schlumberger (and Jamie) a pass too, for 6 years of treason.

Jamie Gorelick, along with these other treasonous devils, should be in jail for the rest of her life.

"Even though she had no previous training nor experience in finance, Gorelick was appointed Vice Chairman of Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) from 1997 to 2003. She served alongside former Clinton Administration official Franklin Raines.[7] During that period, Fannie Mae developed a $10 billion accounting scandal.[8]

On March 25, 2002, Business Week interviewed Gorelick about the health of Fannie Mae. Gorelick is quoted as saying, "We believe we are managed safely. We are very pleased that Moody's gave us an A-minus in the area of bank financial strength – without a reference to the government in any way. Fannie Mae is among the handful of top-quality institutions."[9] One year later, Government Regulators "accused Fannie Mae of improper accounting to the tune of $9 billion in unrecorded losses"."

History will record this outrageous decision as the point where the politicians merely manipulating the apparatus of government for advancement of their ideologies, personal power lust and profit, transitioned to blatant authoritarian rule, aka dictatorships like Hitler, Stalin, etc.

Even Nixon was not able to defy the machinery of the Justice Department.

America, you are VERY sick and VERY badly in need of a thorough flushing of the sespool that government has become. Unfortunately not enough patriots with both brains and balls to perform the cleanup. Decline, decay, and eventual ruin are the inevitable outcome.

the only answer comes from the history, and well as we say in the west: Some people just need killin.
