John Butler was interviewed by Mark O’Byrne about gold and the vitally important but little covered aspects of investing in gold such as - portfolio diversification, correlations, volatilities, higher allocations, how to geometrically dollar cost average, rebalancing gold and of course geographic diversification and the safest locations to own gold.
Butler believes that since the end of the Bretton Woods monetary system, there is a strong case for having higher allocations to physical gold. He warns of the risk inherent in gold ETFs due to the levels of legal indemnifications.
“If you read the prospectuses carefully” the gold ETFs are “subject to various forms of force majeures and unforeseen circumstances” and “the gold is not even fully insured.”
“They could be susceptible to fraud” and “there may be no recourse.”Hence the importance of physical, allocated and segregated gold “outside the banking system”.
The webinar had the ever popular ‘question and answer’ section which is always well received and saw some interesting questions from the participants. Some of which included:
Q: How should an investor approach portfolio rebalancing and gold, should it ever be sold down?
Q: I am a 65 year old retiree. I have much of my pension in stocks and small amount in physical coins (2%), should I buy the Gold ETF and if so what is a good allocation?
Q: If rates start to rise in 2016, what will gold do?
Q: What do you see as the greatest threat to the world economy over the next 5 years, systematic, market, geo political?
Q: Where is the safest place to store metal?
The webinar is a must listen for anyone who owns gold or is considering allocating funds to gold.
John Butler is now a consultant for GoldCore and advising high net worth and family offices with regard to allocating funds to physical gold and institutions with regard to offering their clients precious metals services.
Butler has worked as a global investment strategist for more than 20 years and has advised many of the world’s largest institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds and central banks. He is giving the opening address at the Precious Metals Symposium in Sydney Australia on October 26th and 27th.
He is giving keynote addresses at the Mines and Money Conference in London and at the Gulf Financial Forum in December. He is available to meet to discuss optimal strategies to allocate funds to the gold market today.

I have a gold question. What happened to Uncle Adolph's buried treasure train?
Nothing since September.

Where it usually winds up in the "safest" place(s) there are to store it Con?...
Switzerland, Singapore and London are Safest Places to Store Gold
Q&A
Of course... Places like London that "fire saled" it 16 years ago for $300.00 an ounce!... Yeah that's where I'd put it!!! .
And if you are "wise" enough to dump it in a safety deposit box in Switzerland, Singapore and London it might be wise for you to have somebody periodically turning the keys on your box to ensure that it's still there when the Chinese boats decide not to make another "good delivery" to Liberty Street before the COMEX fails again!...
P.S.
You'll know it's not in your box anymore when a rather large auger bit "hole" has been drilled through the place you use to put the key!
Now for the "Q&A" to discuss other safe havens to store it!!!!
Why did this get pulled so fast?!!!
I really did want to find out the other best places to store PM other than George Soros favorite loocation(s) that GoldCore prescribes which is Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong and last but not least London!!!!
>how to geometrically dollar cost average
people still throw good "fiat" after bad... amazing.
London : 100% unsafe... predator central.
Switzerland : unsafe... gave in to predators.
Singapore : safe so far, but maybe not for long?
-----
Why am I not sure about Singapore, given that so far they've been safe? Because a ZH article a month or three ago mentioned that Singapore is allowing a USSA military base on their soil in 2017. Anyone insane enough to agree to that... cannot be trusted.
Hide, secure and protect your own gold and silver.
>>>Hide, secure and protect your own gold and silver.
Basically agree, though I think having metal in a second jurisdition does make some sense, assuming that this second jurisdiction is one where neither you nor your prospective heirs have any tax "obligations".
FWIW I think that gold prudently hidden on your own property is better that metal stored in any commercial vault. And bank storage is, of course, out of the question.
The biggest caveat: be extraordinarily careful re telling anyone anything.
Yes, loose lips sink ships.
And lose savings.

BTW, no need to hide valuables on our own property. With modern GPS, it is quite practical... and often wiser... to bury your goodies in deep holes out in the boonies. Scramble and reformulate the coordinates as phone-numbers, account-numbers, account-balances, SS#s or other numbers placed within larger sets of numbers. This makes them completely unrecognizable (if you do it correctly).
Many very simple encode and scramble techniques make information unrecognizable. For example, simply encode numeric digits 0 to 9 into A to J (or B to K, or Z to Q, etc) to create a set of letters that make no sense to anyone. Also, just reverse the order of digits, or make the order "first, last, first+1, last-1, first+2, etc.
If nobody even knows you hid your stash in the boonies, and nobody knows you adopted GPS coordinates, and nobody knows your simple encode and scramble techniques, and nobody knows where you wrote them down, and those strings of letters are scattered within a much larger set of strings of letters... nobody will ever have a clue, much less a chance to figure out anything.
Just make sure your encode and scramble technique is simple enough that you cannot possibly forget what it is, otherwise you might not be able to find your goodies yourself. If you have any doubt, write down the encode and scramble techniques (without saying what they are for), then put copies in a safe deposit box or send to 2 or 3 trusted relatives for safe keeping.
Buy P metals with both hands but don't forget the lead. So many corrupt Nazi fuckers, protected by the corrupt government's legal system. Justice but a sad sick joke these days they fucking turned the constitution on its back and shot it, punish hard work and reward the corrupt free shit army with helecopter dollas.
