The GOP's Nightmare Is Coming True: With Jeb Out Of Cash, Insiders Say Trump Nomination Almost Certain

Tyler Durden's picture

Three months ago we revealed what was the GOP's biggest nightmare: Donald Trump dominating the polls, which he did from the first days in the GOP presidential primary.

Since then, Trump's ascent has only gotten steeper, forcing one after another political "expert", talking head and pundit (it is unclear if the Huffington Post still covers Trump in its Entertainment section) to throw in the towel, and admit they have no idea how to read the American public.

Things only got worse for the GOP faithful when it was revealed that the man who was considered a frontrunner for the primary post, Jeb Bush, now appears to have run out of money. Earlier today Politico reported that Jeb Bush ordered across-the-board pay cuts to his struggling presidential campaign and warned staff that job functions would change.

On a Friday conference call, top officials said resources would shift heavily to ballot access and voter contact. One person on the Friday morning staff call said they were left with the impression that "very few people will be left in Miami." Although campaign officials insisted they're still in strong shape, the moves — combined with Bush's stagnant poll numbers, despite millions having been spent by his Right to Rise super PAC on television ads over the last month — suggest otherwise.

The reason for what may be a surprising and premature end to Jeb's campaign: his fundraisers have given up. According to the WSJ reports, "the family’s vaunted financial network is mostly disengaged and splintered—and his campaign stock is falling."

The one-time front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination is roughly tied for third place among GOP contenders in campaign cash and has fallen to fourth or fifth place in national polls, including the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey. His crowds are modest. He failed to dominate in either of the GOP debates, and million-dollar ad buys in Iowa and New Hampshire have barely moved the needle on his support in the early-contest states.

“Jeb’s just blended into the second tier of the Republican pack,” said Doug Corn, an Ohio-based financial adviser and top fundraiser for George W. Bush who hasn’t donated to a candidate this year. “When you run for president, you have to be very charismatic, you have to articulate extremely well and you have to show unbelievable amounts of passion.”

But while Jeb may be lacking in charisma, there is one candidates who oozes it.

And with Trump seemingly able to absorb any and everything the media will throw at him, and actually thrives on it, and his teflon popularity rising week after week, not only have the naysayers given up, but far more importantly, the odds that Donald Trump wins the Republican presidential nomination are going up. Actually, make that soaring.

According to Politico, 81% of Republican insiders say the likelihood that Trump becomes their party’s nominee is more today than it was a month ago, and 79 percent of Democrats said the same. That’s according to the Politico caucus - a weekly bipartisan survey of top strategists, operatives and activists in the early-voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

Some, such as this bitter, livid Iowa Republican, appear to have moved on beyond the anger and bargaining stage, and reached acceptance. "I can't even describe the lunacy of him as our nominee. But reason has not applied to date in this race, and my hopes are fleeting that it will ever surface." Lamented the Iowa Republican, who like all participants was granted anonymity in order to speak freely. If he thinks reason died in the race, he should come see what is going on in the so-called "markets"...

Others pile on:

"Predictions of his demise keep not coming true,” said a New Hampshire Republican.

"Donald Trump being the GOP nominee is now within the realm of possibility," asserted a South Carolina Republican.

“Maybe, just maybe, Trump wins an early contest or two. That will trigger a much stronger Stop Trump movement,” a New Hampshire Republican said. “The party will nominate Bob Dole — in 2016 —before it will nominate Trump. And a Trump nomination would result in a third candidate emerging.”

“The summer of Trump has lasted longer than conventional wisdom suggested it would,” a South Carolina Republican said. “It's going to take a sustained, multi-pronged paid media effort to educate voters that Trump is not a conservative and has flip-flopped on practically every issue. Major donors are quickly getting to the place where they are ready to fund such an effort." That's odd, because many say the same (but inverse) about Hillary: she is not a progressive but is in fact a conservative - perhaps this is the first presidential election in which a Democrat pretends to be a Republican and vice versa.

"Numbers are numbers and you have to give them credence. I remain skeptical that he has the ability to turn people out, come primary day, but I [have] been wrong about this campaign every step of the way so far", added a New Hampshire Republican, who like all participants responded via an online survey.

Yes, yes, we get it - everyone hates Trump, everyone was certain he would be crushed by now, and everyone was wrong precisely for those reasons.

And just as it was cool to bash Trump three months ago, suddenly it has become all too hip to predict his success: it is amusing how "experts" have become the laughing stock themselves, exposed as nothing more than clueless windsocks .

To be sure, not everyone is a hater:

  • “I think he's now mounting a serious campaign,” a South Carolina Republican said. “His stump speech had matured and even though the novelty of his candidacy is wearing off, his straight talk is appealing to people who are so sick of being lied to by the political class.”
  • Another Iowa Republican agreed, saying, “The more time that goes by that he continues to lead — the more likely it is he wins. That simple. Also, comparatively, he is building a real campaign. More so than many others.”
  • "Not sure why anyone should be so surprised that Trump's campaign is getting so serious in terms of infrastructure build-out,” a New Hampshire Democrat said. “Trump may be a jerk, but he is an extremely successful jerk. He has the means and the smarts to compete everywhere — and he is not slowing down.”

Politico continues:

Twenty-two percent of Caucus Republicans said Trump has a 50-50 shot at becoming the Republican nominee; the same percentage said he has a 30 percent chance. The rest of the respondents were divided, with the majority saying his odds are still less than 50 percent. But more than 8-in-10 GOP respondents said those are better odds than they gave Trump a month ago.

The results are notable because they represent a big shift in the thinking of POLITICO Caucus insiders, who this summer were deeply skeptical of Trump’s staying power.

“Trump will be among 3-4 finalists well into April; of that there is no doubt,” an Iowa Republican said.

But the punchline comes from this insider:

“I think he's now mounting a serious campaign,” a South Carolina Republican said. “His stump speech had matured and even though the novelty of his candidacy is wearing off, his straight talk is appealing to people who are so sick of being lied to by the political class.”

And that is how the biggest Republican nightmare is coming true, because the bolded is all that really matters: if Trump can appeal to the silent, but vast majority - and so far he is doing just that - that is wholeheartedly sick of the fake left-right divide which has made a mockery of representative government and is pandering only to select special interests who have hijacked the US government in the past century, not only is the Trump's nomination "looking more likely" but so is the Trump presidency.

Yes, Hilary has been selected and will win - that is why they need Trump to run against her... makes perfect sense. And, frankly, what difference does it make if it was Bush? Hilary would beat Bush too... so this is all just a circus.

Hillary has virtually all of the lesbian vote  -those numbers keep getting bigger and bigger every year  - a lot of stupid, senile old folks like my mother and mother in law like her  - they love the daily soap opera of the Clintons and how she stood by her man when he was caught cheating -over and over  - of course she had numerous affairs of her own over the years  -gay and straight - but that's a  minor issue that only right wing christian types care about. She likely has most of the homo vote  -the black liberal vote  -the mexican vote  -simply because they just don't know any better and money shuffled down to their leaders delivers their votes.

She could win  -the only one in the republican party who can defeat her is Trump. I still think Hillary beats trump  -the American people are really, really stupid and morally corrupt. Hillary, backed by the big Wall Street jews and media - probably has the edge.

@Savyindallas

You put it pretty well...
I do think that, as I posted below about the 2nd Amendment and immigration, that the US has changed, demographically, to the point that a Republican may not be able, any longer, to win a national office. Since about 35% of whites vote Demonrat, that is all they need. And, sadly, there isn't a whole lot of difference between the two parties.

Repubs now need such an exceptionally high share of the White vote to win (because Whites are a diminishing share of the electorate), that prospects are not good for Repubs sitting in the White House again for generations. Seriously.

And we knew this was coming. National Review even did a cover story on it in the late 1990's, before they went totally Neocon. Yet the leading Repubs still supported the Dems' immigration policy, and stupid Repub voters voted for these Repub leaders.

Dr Kevin MacDonald's chapter on immigration

Meanwhile, primary candidates like Buchanan (1992 and 2000--before switching to the Reform Party) and Paul (2008) went nowhere.

You are suffering from 'premature expectations'.

Sorry, but polls are BS and there's long way to go to the election so a lot of spinning and brainwashing still to happen - I can already see the Hilary campaign focus - attack Trump as an incompetent populist lunatic and elect first female president so in the end Hilary will be presented as the best of the "two evils"... American people really need to wake up...

He never was the front-runner. The press just simply declared him that.  It helps to be a chosen one but it seems the money power is more on Trump. Now why would that be???

. “His stump speech had matured and even though the novelty of his candidacy is wearing off, his straight talk is appealing to people who are so sick of being lied to by the political class.”

So glad his speaking message had matured. That only means he is more electable, not that he is committed and honorable in restoring the American Constitution as the supreme law of the land.

how do any of these candidates stack up against the various democratic party rivals? if you're a republican you want your party to win the white house. since there are more registered democrats a few of them have to swing over. to me Trump has the best chance of getting that swing vote, Trump is not charismatic, Obama is charismatic, so that works in Trumps favor. Trump runs against Obama, so he just needs to be the anti-Obama and he wins. no one else can do that.

Trump is the ONLY GOP candidate that has even a modest immigration policy. Truly.
Because if we let the LEGAL immigration continue as it is now you can kiss goodbye any remnants of freedom, for example:

The NRA will fall. It’s inevitable. Just look at the demographics. The Washington Post, October 19, 2015
by Adam Winkler professor at UCLA School of Law

The fastest-growing minority group in America is Latinos. Between 2000 and 2010, the nation’s Latino population grew by 43 percent. Hispanics, which make up 17 percent of the population today, are expected to grow to 30 percent of the population in the coming decades.

Gun control is extremely popular among Hispanics, with 75 percent favoring gun safety over gun rights.

Asian Americans also represent a growing anti-gun demographic. Although only about 5 percent of the population today, the Asian American population is predicted to triple over the next few decades. A recent poll of Asian American registered voters found that 80 percent supported stricter gun laws.

South African Dan Roodt, November 9, 2012

Many whites will emigrate or move to the remaining red states, just as South Africa’s whites have emigrated since 1994. But ultimately there will be no place to go, as the global demographic decline of whites means that even European countries suffer the same fate of dispossession.

Demography is destiny, as Auguste Comte said. There is a mysterious process whereby whites react to racial domination not by rioting or claiming special privileges as other races do, but by working harder, having even fewer children, and quarrelling among themselves. We see this happening in South Africa, in Western Europe and, of course, in America, where white Republicans and Democrats are like two dogs fighting over a bone, while a third is about to run away with it and leave them with nothing.

The Republican Party is poised to adopt the attitude of South Africa’s liberal opposition party, the Democratic Alliance, which has forsaken its core white support and practices affirmative action in its own ranks. There are three women on its election posters: one white, one colored or mixed-race, and one black, at once expressing the party’s diversity and its disdain for the white male.

Lest we forget, the rank and file of the Republican Party rebelled against Ronald Reagan’s veto and passed sanctions against South Africa on Sept. 29, 1986.

Since that time, the U.S. has consistently pursued an anti-white foreign policy. In Southern Africa it supported black Marxist movements such as the African National Congress (ANC) and the South West African Peoples Organization (SWAPO). In Europe, it has called for a large Muslim state—Turkey—to be included in the European Union. Would the American elite ever adopt a pro-white policy domestically while pursuing the opposite of such a policy externally?

There are three forces that are likely to determine the Republican Party’s position on white interests. The first is the wishes of its own electorate; the second is the corporate sector that funds the party, and the third is the mainstream media. America’s large corporations support affirmative action and diversity, while the media support multiculturalism. The GOP will follow their bidding and betray its voters.

Like the whites of the former Rhodesia, South West Africa, and South Africa, Republicans will embark on a forlorn search for conservative allies “of color” whom non-white voters will reject as traitors. Even if a black woman such as Condoleezza Rice could be fielded as the next Republican presidential candidate, it is doubtful whether many blacks or Hispanics would vote for her.
Patrick Buchanan and others have already chronicled “the death of the West,” but we need to understand the laws of this process, because it follows a pattern of false hopes, interspersed with successive betrayals by white leaders.

American whites could become a minority much sooner than they think. That has been our experience in South Africa; people appreciate the enormity of change only after it is too late.

If you let much more immigration the're will be no more GOP.

The democrats are giving more and more rights to immigrants, and bringing in more and more of them, and the plan is to give them the right to VOTE. And they have a big mass of brainwashed whites to vote for them also.

Following this trend 65-70% of voters will be non white (nigro, latino, everything immigrant) + brainwashed whites to vote for Dem and for GOP there will be like half of the whites, so around half of that 30-35 % left.

There will be too damn few whites left to matter.

Cue arrival of Charismatic Sociopathic Demagogue, on schedule for your crumbling Empire.

When the forces known as "stasis" to the ancient Greeks, or "gridlock" to modern Washingtonians, cause the machinery of government to seize in its tracks, and military debacles destroy the credibility of warfare as a means to solve the resource shortage and resultant economic distress at home, a Charismatic Dictator will arise.  These come in two types.  The first and most common is a strongman of lower-class origins willing to use whatever force is necessary to brutally control all opposition; Saddam Hussein and Josef Stalin are typical of this breed.  The second, far less common and less threatening, is the Julius Caesar/Franklin Roosevelt, a more affable and often far smarter beast, himself a member of the elite who gains control by mobilizing the plebians against his fellow oligarchs. Sometimes motivated by "public spirit" (whatever that is), but more often by personal gain, this specimen seldom shoots his opponents openly (or honestly), and can be recognized by his trademark SMILE.  Although transition from the Charismatic Demagogue to a continuing, functional state is chancy, it is more likely with the Caesar type, who does less damage to the human infrastructure of government and usually leaves a few competent lieutenants alive to vie for supremacy after his passing.

Can't say Trump is the Demagogue I would have picked, but us ordinary rubes don't usually get much say in that.  Long live the Emperor!  Let's hope this one at least keeps his clothes on in public.

Now this is incredible shocking news, has been published in a number of papers, but not talked about on radio or tv.

Survivor of alleged elite paedophile ring including former Prime Minister speaks out

A WOMAN claiming to be the victim of a “VIP paedophile ring”, which involved three former Prime Ministers, has alleged she was prostituted to “paedophile parties” at Parliament House in Canberra.

Speaking to media in Sydney, Fiona Barnett detailed her alleged abuse by the alleged elite paedophile ring 40 years ago.

The 45-year-old said she was abused by the ring, which included high-ranking politicians, police and members of the judiciary, at the age of five and claimed there were thousands of other victims.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/aap/article-3280416/List-28-prominent-p...

So is we are talking about person who were Prime Ministers at the time or became Prime Ministers later, now retired, the list of potential candidates is limited.

If true the Prime Ministers would likely be part of the same poltical party, and been around long enough to garner trust amongst the other members of the pedophile/torture/murder riing. These events are alleged to have taken place in the mid 1970s (and apparently the 'club' is still running).

Up until the 1970s Australia's Federal Govt had been heavily dominated by the 'Liberal' party, thus they would have appointed most of the Judiciary and Federal Police and so on coming into the 1970s.  So I would firstly think that the likely candidates would be from the Liberal Party, former Liberal Party PMs, as being part of the in crowd, the power over everything.

So this narrows down the potential candidates, and I think it highly probable all of them are now dead.

List of Australian Prime Ministers (future Prime Ministers) alive at the time.

The only thing worse than a republican is a democrat.  Politicians work to be reelected and that is exactly why we need term limits - so they cant be lifetime hacks.  Outsiders like Trump, Fiorina, Carson, have no desire to be lifetime politicians - they just want to fix what's broken.

Some people will never get it. Americans, Republicans AND Democrats, are done with holding their noses and voting for the LOTE. We can't believe anything that any of them say so we aren't listening to their messages anymore. What we ARE looking at is the dirty money backing them. Monied interests are what matters, not empty promises from proven liars. Only Trump, and to some extent Carson, come off as candidates who are not bought and paid for.

The "experts" keep telling us that once we have had a chance to get to know the FAMOUS FOR OVER FORTY YEARS Trump, we will fall back into the fold with the rest of the sheeple. That clearly is not happening. The more they talk down to us, the more we shout LISTEN YOU IDIOTS! PAY ATTENTION!

It may turn out in the end that Trump is not the kind of guy that should be POTUS of the greatest country in history but at least he is not openly engaged in destroying it. Most of us now realize that our constitution has been taken away from us and our country is close to being irrevocably destroyed. What do we have to lose with voting for Trump?

He is pissing off all of the right people and making the dirty money choke on its dirty money. He has my vote. It's Trump, 3rd party or stay home for me.

Carson considers unintended consequences and has broader knowledge about socioeconomic, educational and medical issues than any candidate of either party. His rise from poverty life story and lead in the Iowa polls is the real elephant in the room. He is more offensive to Republican insiders , Democrats and the media than any, therefore his is the name that shall not be spoken. Once he is known, he will connect across party lines to actual voters because of the desire for an outsider, a hunger for someone who really cares and who speaks truth.

People are craving truth, and action! That being said: we have to ask how Ben Carson will act if he hypothetically became the presidential nominee / elect. If he goes in the pocket of super-pacs then he is the same as the rest. If he is authentic, then he'll take off.

Carson is a complete ignoramus when it comes to politics.  He knows how to cut brains open.  He doesn't know how to dance the Washingtonian.  If installed in the White House, he would become a patsy for the worst manipulators of the Christian Taliban; his public statements have made it clear he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground on international issues OR economics.

If Jeb Bush wanted the presidency badly enough, he'd spend his own money -- it isn't like he doesn't come from a multi-million dollar family: He can pay for his own campaign... like Trump is. Of course, when the not-so-secret secret of receiving millions in S-PAC $$$$ signifies he is in the pocket of special interests only, then he'll lose the faith from the voting populace.

If this story is true, it is interesting. I honestly thought the presidential race this upcoming year was going to be Bush vs. Clinton. Color me surprised.

When you're in Bedlam, does it matter who is the administrator?

Eat your green jello and be quiet, if you know what's good for you.

I think Trump is a GOP member's dream...it is the current crop of panders that are the nightmare...though Kasich seems intelligent and has done a bunch of good things. But Hell no one wants that...they want a punching bag. When did Walker become number 2? He was number 6 when he was actually running!

I have a hard time accepting Trump as serious about being president. It's just a gut feeling that he's a stalking horse for Hillary. If I'm right, he'll implode sometime before the nomination or the election. I don't see him as an idealist who would trust his empire to cohorts for the sake of a higher calling. He has more to gain, if Hillary owes him.

"But reason has not applied to date in this race, and my hopes are fleeting that it will ever surface." Lamented the Iowa Republican"

Based on what reasoning? Trump is popular because he makes ppl feel hope. Whether or not that is misplaced is technically not relevant. It is a positive indicator of the desperation of the American ppl (the good ones, my take) to flush down the toilet all the societal degeneracy and government corruption of the last x # years. I think millions of Americans feel the nation disintegrating and the American dream fading quickly away. The positive aspect of this is the popularity of Trump is evidence of ppl's growing awareness of this most epic and serious problem.

We have the new world order like a dark cloud looming over America, which is an expanded and perhaps far more sinister model than the zionist bolshevik horror courtesy of Marx, Trotsky, Lenin and Stalin vs a fairly sizable (majority?) group of 'don't tread on me' Americans, with their notoriously feisty, fierce independent spirit. Whoever Trump really is, or whatever he ends up doing/serving is not the real issue. It is the feeling he stirs up in ppl all across the nation that want this nation to go in full reverse on several key particulars, culturally, administratively and economically. Again, Trump might not be the man to deliver the reversal. But as I keep saying, this is irrelevant. As long as the American ppl stay focused on the basic thing they love the most, a great nation of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, unfettered by an ever expanding central government, controlled by sycophants that leave us in the present state, *this* is where we find the source of true hope.

Nobody can kill the American Spirit, which is the Spirit of Liberty. Understandably, there are a lot of sheep, and they don't understand how they have been, still are, and for the moment will be deceived by their government, directed by the zionist insurgency, which is behind the decline of America, and unwittingly fall prey to the enemy propaganda. However, their gut feeling, the sense of things is America is really beginning to suck, and they don't like it.

Once the American ppl really begin to connect the dots to see what and who it is that is causing all the trouble, it will become easier to pick out of the crowd representatives that hold the right values and policy ideas to preserve and protect the nation from the foreign zionist insurgency, with all their goyim fronts and labyrinthine maze of off shoots here and there.

Say what you want about Trump, but he was the spark to set the Spirit of Liberty on fire inside people. So long as the American ppl hold onto to this passion, sooner or later the leaders they choose will improve. For now, we roll with DT and see what happens, and hope in the next elections, and as the future comes out, the Spirit of Liberty will push the forces of darkness back into the hell where they came from.

Amen.
