Three Chinese Warships To Dock In Florida Port

Tyler Durden's picture

At a time when the US and China are practically at arms over the artificial islands in the South China Seas, with the US sending warships on location to patrol (despite White House Spokesman Josh Earnest saying on Oct. 8 that U.S. warships "should not provoke significant reaction from the Chinese") and a stunned China responding "What On Earth Makes Them Think We Will Tolerate This", the last thing we thought we would see right now was three Chinese warships about to port in Florida's Naval Station Mayport.

And yet according to USNI that is precisely what is about to happen: citing US Navy officials, USNI reports that he three ships about to dock in the US are the Type 052C Luyang II-class guided-missile destroyer Jinan (152), the Type 054A Jiangkai II-class guided-missile frigate Yiyang (548) and the Type 903 Fuchi-class fleet oiler Qiandao Hu (886).

Type 52 Luyang II guided missile destroyer Jinan

"Three vessels are on an around-the-world deployment and will conduct the goodwill visit after completing port calls in Europe,” read a statement from Navy Region Southeast. "The amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7) will serve as the host ship. In Mayport, sailors from both navies will participate in sporting events and interact during ship tours."

The close navy encounters go both ways: yesterday, a collection of about two dozen U.S. naval officers paid a visit to the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning in China, according to Chinese state controlled press and confirmed by the Navy.

U.S. officials would not elaborate if there would be an at-sea training component to the visit slated to run from Nov. 3rd to the 7th.

What makes the visit particularly awkward is that, as Navy officials stressed, the visit was planned months in advance and comes just as Washington and Beijing are at loggerheads over territorial possessions in the South China Sea.

It is also notable, that in addition to the Mayport visit, China has sent the flotilla to first ever port visits in the Baltic Sea in ports like Stolkholm, Sweden and Helsinki, Finland as part of the world tour. Perhaps it is just part of China's due diligence.

Some US Congressmen are not too happy about the Chinese visit: "While the U.S. has been fervently cultivating military-to-military exchanges, China’s behavior at sea has not tracked with its rhetoric of a ‘peaceful rise’,” read a Thursday statement from Rep. Randy Forbes, from the chair of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Seapower and Projection Forces, to USNI News.

“Engagement like the upcoming Chinese visit to Mayport should not be done purely for engagement’s sake, and I hope that in addition to increased transparency, we start to see China moderate its other destabilizing activities.”

However, the most interesting news is that according to the US Naval Institute, despite much posturing, the Obama administration has not yet dispatched ship toward China, and instead has been merely weighing for weeks whether or not it will send a freedom of navigation mission within 12 nautical miles — the internationally recognized maritime border — of features in the Spratly and Paracel China has reclaimed from the sea.

It would appear that Obama was once again all talk and once China threatened to call the U.S. bluff and warned it would use force, the US desire for confrontation promptly evaporated.

Goldman may have brokered a deal.  If the ships go on to dock in Venezuela that may be the case;

however you'd figure China and Venezuela would do their own dealings. Maybe they're transferring some

Problem is, they don't want to wake up. Go back and watch old George Carlin videos. When he talks about how screwed we are by our lack of vigilance in defending our Constitution and that our govt controls everything in our lives, the crowd laughs nervously at times and claps when he makes a point. They know they're screwed, they know he is right--and yet they do nothing to change it. Becoming aware of what is really going on is scary shit. They're afraid to do so and even the few who do educate themselves realize that until the masses are aware nothing will change. True patriots like Snowden have tried to educate the masses. But did they stop using Facebook? Nope. Stop using an iPhone? Hell no. The masses don't want to awaken. It's no different than a drug addict or alcoholic. They have to hit absolute rock bottom and want to change before any treatment will be lasting. They want to stay in the Matrix. It's perverse, but true.

"France sent a warship to New York harbor in early August 1971 with instructions to bring back its gold from the New York Federal Reserve Bank"

Yes indeed that happened after "Dick" Nixon tied the chain around America's economic neck at the Bretton with the petrodollar....

But my point is the reverse.  Is China picking up more "GLD" to take home with them?  Or are they bringing it to Manhattan to play the game with the Anglo-American banking cartel because they made a deal and think they can string the "ponzi" out a little longer by working together?

If somebody was blowing my shit up at home like in Tianjin, I don't think their would be any cards left to play on the table but these are the games of delusional psychopaths anyway that look at their populations as a unit of labor and cost of doing business and nothing more!

China, India and the U.S.  are very much like one another in that respect.  Russia most definitely NOT!  And the ultimate test will be which EU players want to abdicate from the Union and join a new chapter of "We The People" in Russia or go down with the "ship"!!!!

Interesting hypothesis.  Conversation might go like this:

U.S.:  Hey China, you know all that hypothecated gold we've been supplying the market that you've been taking delivery on?  We're running out.   Seriously, we couldn't even cash out the Germans last year - what a shit show.  We really need some physical gold back as ammunition for our shorting operation.  Need we mention this keeps the dollar valuable golbally, your $1.5T in Treasury Bond holdings valuable, your export business to the U.S. humming, and your economy booming and people not revolting?

China:  Intriguing.  But in case you haven't noticed, we really like our gold.

U.S.:  Ok, ok.  We'll also back down on foreign policy.  And we'll print up the money to pay you $10,000/oz for the gold.  And we promise to sell it right back to you over the next few years on the open market at $1,000/oz.  All this must be kept beyond top secret, obviously.

China:  Deal.  We'll send over a waprship secretly transporting 5,000 tonnes of gold to you in sealed containers.  No commercial shipping records will exist.  Pleasure doing business with you.

Case in point Lazane these stories keep popping up only to be ignored by the majority in this Country.

When ZH was one of the first to come out with the news story of JP Morgans vaults being sold to the Chinese a few years ago the picture and "pattern" only gets wider every day.

If you speak with the average Chinese that live and work in the U.S. they have no intention of going back home and even though they stop short of coming across as an ex-pat you read the stories of the "fire sales" going on around us in this Country made possible by Washington countless times over the last two decades and you understand why the police state is in force to replace the useless blue passport carrying "bottom feeders" with the labor migrant(s) from China and India that just keep coming non-stop!

China hosted a visit this week to its sole aircraft carrier by senior U.S. Navy officers amid tensions over reported plans by Washington to challenge Beijing's territorial claims in the South China Sea.

The delegation of 27 commanders and captains boarded the Liaoning on Monday and held discussions on "exercise management, personnel training, medical protection and strategies in carrier development," the Chinese navy said on its official microblog.

Yes.  What makes the largest US retailers possible and profitable ?

(e.g. Wallmart, Target, CVS, Wallgreen, HomeDepot)

China makes everything for the low-end retail worldwide.

Won't change, until it does, after some massive worldwide collapse of existing regimes.

Next step:  the Chinese invite US warships to visit their newly-dredged islands, so as to allow the US to steam close them, and do so without either losing face.

People who think that China is an enemy have a serious screw loose and should turn of their mainstream media propaganda conduit.

Our countries are massively codependent ... as per plan.

Vote ... Smart Leadership trying to destroy Constitutional America

Did Trump say we in the US are being taken advantage of? We have either the stupidest leadership or the shrewdest (trying to destroy Constitutional America)

. . . . with the US sending warships on location to patrol (despite White House Spokesman Josh Earnest saying on Oct. 8 that U.S. warships "should not provoke significant reaction from the Chinese") and a stunned China responding "What On Earth Makes Them Think We Will Tolerate This", the last thing we thought we would see right now was three Chinese warships about to port in Florida's Naval Station Mayport.

It's called Kabuki Theater . . . .

Sure, why not let them dock. Fill the tanks, check the oil...

If China wanted to attack they'd put a couple nukes in c-cans bound for Wallmart.

This coming war is largely by agreement. How much so we won't know for a decade.

Strapped for cash, we have leased out the ports to China and their war ships. It was a better deal than the time share originally offered. No longer wishing to except our printed play money as payment on our debt to them,China has suggested and the U.S. has agreed to use the barter system to settle our debt. Water from the great lakes, exclusive access to Disneyland for one week a year where only Chinese people will be allowed in the park, the tolls from the Golden Gate Bridge for 50 years, The Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore and finally the complete evacuation and turn over to them the city of Detroit which they own most of anyway. They have offered to fund and build us a high speed rail the price is Yellowstone National Park, Donald Trump is handling the details of the deal.

Similar to the period prior to WW1 when the Royal Navy and German Navy visited each other. Soon after that they were lobbing shells at each other.

This is why headline news is always bullshit. You think the US Navy stopped making port calls in Hong Kong? There's practically a US Navy flotilla here every other month.
