"Colonel" Sanders' Communist Fried Chicken - It's Finger-Flippin' Good

Tyler Durden's picture

Free stuff? While Bernie is sincere about "helping people," as Ben Garrison notes, it's the middle class and poor will pay for it.

There's no such thing as a free lunch, but real freedom is worth preserving.

I am struck by the fact that every time I identify a new level of propaganda, a new pattern, I then immediately see it everywhere.

MSM never notices, so I must be crazy, of course.

So, what's the difference between a left wing nutjob and a right wing nutjob? The left wing nutjob is resentful that the uber-rich ate everybody else's lunch and demand that food be shared in the future. The right wing nutjob is resentful that the uber-rich didn't invite him to join them in their gluttony.

“Communism has never been put into practice!”

These are the 10 planks of the communist manifesto.

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rents of land to public purposes

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly

6. Centralization of the means of communications and transportation in the hands of the state

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan

8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production.

We are part of the natural world and the reason that we have the systems we have is that they do "work" for enough of the participants that change is not forthcoming. Libertarian capitalism is revered by many a professor though it has never once existed.

Libertarian capitalism is revered by many a professor??

really? Which school is that which has the libertarian capitalist department?

Sure, there are professors for everything, somewhere. But which ideology is by far the most widely studied and promoted as our "solution". Probably about as many libertarian capitalist studies as there are devoted to disproving climate change. Lets be real. Lets talk about not the exception but the rule, OK?

Sat, 10/24/2015 - 21:16 | 6707799 NihilistZero
NihilistZero's picture

I think you go a little far with the hyperbole. Libertarian Capitalism probably has as many professors as does what you call communism but what in actuality is neo fascism. Neo fascism has been the economic system of choice for the USA and all Central Bank managed economic units since Kennedys brains saw the light of day in Dallas. It survives to this day because enough benefit from it and not enough suffer to the point of action. It survives not because of some academic apparatus but because it "works".

As dickhead Rush Limbaugh likes to say "Things are what they are."

Sat, 10/24/2015 - 21:30 | 6707835 Oldwood
Oldwood's picture

Neo fascism. Is that a new brand of fascism? Or is it the same old fascism that we have seen since the beginning of time where money attempts to buy government and government attempts to control the money? There is nothing NEW about any of this other than some like to think their realizations are the first, that they are enlightened unlike those ancient ones.

Every group or entity uses ideology to attempt to direct and herd thought.

Sat, 10/24/2015 - 22:02 | 6707914 NihilistZero
NihilistZero's picture

It's all in the presentation Oldwood. Of course the ideology is the same as it ever was. But I'm sure you have noticed that the ethnic and national purity of the Nazis of old has given way to the new intellectually homogeneous yet ethnically diverse, politically correct insanity we have now. The Nazis seem more intellectually honest by comparison.

Sat, 10/24/2015 - 22:24 | 6707957 Oldwood
Oldwood's picture

Honesty seldom pays for those intent on corruption and tyranny.

Regardless of stated "isms", its always about economic and social justice...for someone. The harder it is to identify the victim, the more inclined we are to hope we are not found to be the perpetrator. So much depends on accurately calculating which is to be the winning side, because ultimately that is all that is important. Diversity aids greatly in creating chaos.

Shows just how people both hate the truth and cannot confront the reality of their own hearts.  Are you as moral as Jesus? Then you fail to meet the standard by which you will be judged.  But all 5 of you prove the veracity of God's condemnation on the unrepentant and Christ hating world who lives in total self denial; the only peace man will ever have is that which comes from serving Christ as opposed to yourself and the lust of your flesh and the lusts of your eyes; as it is written and so it is true.

Also shows that no one bothered to merely look at the definition of either "Freedom" or "Enslaved" and see if they can say which they are.  Instead you just get a hatred for the truth of the matter.  You are enslaved and you have never had true freedom as defined by Webster.

There are lots and lots of people in America who have free healthcare as well, especially now thanks to Obama. Its the rest of us, those who must pay for ours and theirs, that are not so pleased. Then have the whole thing reset again come January 1st.  It's my duty to make insurance, the medical field as rich as possible.  I also enjoy the fact Blue Cross can unilaterally change the contract with  "Love it or Leave It" impunity.  I also demand all other healthcare plans have the same policy.

If I were a good, decent sucker, I'd NEVER put in a claim to Blue Cross...God FORBID I become a cost to them.

Stupid Free Stuff bullshit argument from right is getting tired.

Bernie has already laid out how he will pay for his programs... by slashing the military industrial complex welfare program and taxing the elite 1% rs.

Bernie is the only anti-banker, anti-deep state candidate.  You fools should be supporting him 100%.  He stands for the important issues you all believe in.

On issues of race and women's and gay rights I'm sure he is opposite the ZH mindset,  but on issues that actually f'ing matter, he is your only mouthpiece.

The tunnel vision in this place is astounding.  Guess how many of the European and USA  immigrants you all hate are from democratic socialist states like Sweden and Denmark?

F'ING ZERO.

Zero immigrants from those countries.  You know why? Cause they are happy with their system, it goddam works for everybody.

Seriously, enhanced government powers and taxation ensure our liberties? Or are you simply hoping for more redistribution. As far as the military is concerned, they like most others are neck deep in waste and corruption, but, constitutionally speaking it is one of the few enumerated powers granted our government, NOT wealth redistribution OR economic justice.

Can't say I support Bernie's platform, but considering the wealth of the 1% is comprised of inflated fiat representing the stolen purchasing power of the working class, is it really redistribution to return that which was taken? In lieu of letting deflation take it's natural course how else are working people to regain their purchasing power except through government intervention?

If you raised the minimum wage to 15$ an hour via a negative income tax you could put upward pressure on wages without hurting small business and at best would be giving working people the purchasing power they had back in the 70s.

"considering the wealth of the 1% is comprised of inflated fiat representing the stolen purchasing power of the working class, is it really redistribution to return that which was taken? "

Would such a negative income tax really be awarded to independent labor, small biz owners, independent contractors -or merely be awarded to destitude breeders and migrants, poured into public and private sector unions, funnelled into more corporate welfare or statist economic management schemes?

What is required mathematically is debt destruction.

The system is saturated and cannot further expand.  -Exponential exhaustian.

There needs to be a serious restructuring of the economy and of govenment itself..  The present is a Rube-Goldberg 19th Century amalgam of ideological horse-trading and payola schemes run amuck -and most of it is dysfunctional, unproductive, and in need of replacement even if the goals and justifications were accepted and unchanged.

Governance, law/regulation, trade, taxation, monetary policy, education, immigration, defense/security, social services/heath/housing, etc., etc.: it ALL needs to be scrapped and reconstituted...

No mainstream party candidate/operative is going to advocate any part of any meaningful restructuring.

Their own power structure is the status quo.

The US is on the precipice.

We DO NOT need a Sanders.  He is the wrong medicine for what ails us.

We might need a Sulla.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulla

I'd like to think that there is a better option; but, history doesn't display many better options for reorganizing late/tertiary phase neo-Republics crumbling under debt saturation, endmic corruption and widespread institutionalized oppression...

The minimum wage is irrelevant given government provided subsidies for just about everything. There are jobs available that will not be filled, because people will not take them as they would have to give up their benefits...substantial benefits in some cases. These government benefits are NOT being covered by anyone other than those who work. There is no tax on the rich or business that will not work its way back upon our back. Believe it. We already have earned income tax credits that are putting cash directly in the pockets of low wage/no wage people, so I'm not sure how you think negative tax rates will do anything but feed the entitlement monster already gnawing at our posteriors.

Rather than trying to calculate a way to "tax" what most would consider unethical if not illegal actions benefiting the rich, why not actually make laws that punish cheating and manipulations, not to mention outright fraud and theft. Taxing wealth PUNISHES ALL wealth generating activities, crooked and productive alike. We NEED productive people doing big things and punishing them seems stupid when supposedly the goal is justice and fairness...unless fairness is all about equality of outcome.....something that never has and never will exist.

"why not actually make laws that punish cheating and manipulations, not to mention outright fraud and theft.  "

Those laws exist by the thousands.

The rich and politically connected are effectively exempted from those laws via selective prohibitions and/or prosecutions, and subjective sanctions where the law is applied.

IF you or I attempt to lauder money from drug dealing it is one thing; but, if CitiCorp is found to be doing it on an trans-national corporate scale of magnitude there is no problem -THAT is just 'big business' handling big accounts and 'being deferential and confidential with respect to select clients with large portfolios', etc...

Regulations, laws and taxes are merely institutionalized oppressions if they are selective.

THAT is what we have in the US: institutionalized oppression masquerading as Law.

Economic activity does not imply a civil society, functional govenment or responsive institutions, or even a civilization.

Forget Bernie Sanders. He's just a diversion. It is Hillary we have to be concerned about.

I'll bet that after 8 yrs in office (at this point the election/re election are hers to lose) Hillary winds up becoming a billionaire! She is that corrupt.

Her mannerisms and MO are exactly like my ex-wife's , a doctor, who tested as histrionic, narcissitic, and hedonistic.  Very scary. My ex is as treacherous, back stabbing, manipulative as they come and I just can't get over how much she is like Hillary.

Hillary didn't appoint "her friend " Stevens as ambassador to Libya. Hillary has no friends- she is incapable of making friends. A sociopath is defined as one who has no feelings for others, one who is incapable of feeling any empathy for others. That is why she was able to cackle about going home alone all night  during the Benghazi attack and leaving her "friend" to die. She didn't stay up all night. She's lying. She had a drink and went to bed.

Stevens was of no further use to her.

Here's a related idea, and something to ponder:

Robin Hood

From the story, Robin Hood has a distaste for the opulently wealthy who have no concern for working people. Robin’s policy of taking from the rich and giving to the poor made him an early practitioner of “redistribution of wealth.”

The thing is - today he could be one of two people:

  1. A guy who battles the Wall Street barons, the environmental abusers, etc. demanding that all subjects of the realm receive adequate health care, food, and housing, etc.
  2. A guy who  is stealing from a tyrannical government that is taxing people into poverty. Robin hood steals from tax collectors and the King (government) in order to give it back to the people who were originally taxed.

Robin Hood rebelled against an autocratic system of domination and against the wealthy nobility and a king, who ruled at his time.

But there were no corporations in Robin Hood's time, and there were no central banks. I'm having a hard time trying to decide if (1) Robin Hood was one of the two guys above, or (2) just one guy - battling both - because the Wall street barons are not the tryrannical government, but they do, in fact... own the government?

So those who's wealth requires redistribution basically stole it?

Some pretty broad strokes there.

How about just enforcing the law and hiring a Sheriff that isn't corrupt. Bernie Sanders wants our corrupt and thieving government to steal MORE, without regard to its actual source or morality, only through those typical broad and indifferent strokes of generalization....the evil rich.

Sun, 10/25/2015 - 12:28 | 6708029 Arthur Schopenhauer

Yes, admittedly broad brushed. Put another way... lets assume there are some "powerful people" who "call the shots".

For instance, you see on a daily basis, right here on ZeroHedge (and just about everywhere else) people making the "claim" or "assumption" that "stock and bond markets are rigged".

What would cause so many to make such assumptions, or indeed... to have such a universal belief? Obviously the only assumption to be made is that there are, in fact some "powerful people" who "call the shots".

Next, if there are in fact some powerful people who call the shots in the financial markets, next we might assume they are powerful enough to call the shots in terms of dictating to our legislators how our government is to be run *AND* our Judicial system, and to benefit the ones who do indeed call the shots.

I mean, this isn't exactly a new idea...

But then again, if we didn't have the system we currently live in, and instead actually prosecuted the criminals (as you say) we wouldn't need to talk about the fictitious criminals, ficticious people like Robin Hood, and create fictitous cartoons about people like Bernie Sanders.

The poor and middle class have been taking it in the rectum since Reagan, during a period that conservative, tax-cutting, free-market and free-trade economic policies have been unhindered and unquestioned. But we don't have free markets.  If you think we  have free markets, give it a test.  Start up your own health insurance company.  Get a private loan from family and friends, and give it a shot.  Advertise your new business, and offer health coverage which is spelled out in an easy to understand, clearly written policy.  Make it decent and fair, with a reasonable but not excessive profit for yourself, and pay your help fairly.  Go out there and let everyone know you are now in the health insurance business.  Run your ads, advertise.  Run your business openly and honestly.  And let's see how fast the government shows up at your door with AK's to shut you down, because you didn't "pay to play".  Not only will they shut you down, they'll fine the shit out of you for even trying.  That's how it is, and that is NOT the free market system you describe.

Bernie's idea of social justice is stealing $10 from one person he deems to have too much, and giving 5 others $1 each.  The parasitic non-productive bureaucracy eats up the remainder.  Bernie likes to make nice speeches about how wonderful his ideas are, but really he's just a wannabe king thief preaching to his den of thieves, his mob.  Deep down inside they all know what they are, but they try to rationalize the crime by accusing others of the same.  It's always the same, and sadly ironic that peace loving Bernie would, with use of force, confiscate all you have worked for.

Bernie is just taking the bread and circus meme that is our economy to it's maximum output for left leaning control. You really can't blame him, although it is mentally rather simplistic as are those who think it will actually work. He represents a complete turn away from any type of responsibility where the individual has no function other than to locate the proper government employee to vent one's frustrations at not having enough ishit. Productivity is not only discouraged, but frowned upon as opposed to finding some soapbox to stand on and complain about what someone else did to your life.
