Russia Releases Dramatic Assessment Of ISIS Strikes, As US Sees "Little Green Men" In Syria

Tyler Durden's picture

On Thursday, in “Russia, Assad Plan New Elections In Syria As US, Saudis Meet Lavrov In Vienna,” we brought you the latest on the push for a “political”, “diplomatic” solution to Syria’s civil war.

The official line is that The Kremlin has convinced Bashar al-Assad to call for elections and to be open to working with the opposition to form a new government. Meanwhile, John Kerry says he intends to continue to hold talks with his counterparts from Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey in an effort to find a solution that’s workable and agreeable to everyone.

Of course if one reads between the lines, the story changes materially.

Assad won’t likely lose an election and here’s why, i) he still has some genuine support among the citizenry, ii) the Assad regime is probably looking pretty good right now in the minds of Syrians compared to the bloody anarchy that’s gripped the country for the last four years, and iii) no one is going to vote against a Mid-East strongman that they know is likely to return to power. So the election gambit is simply a way for Russia to legitimize its goal of restoring Assad.

Additionally, the talks between Kerry and his “friends” (as he calls them) amount to Russia throwing the US a kind of diplomatic lifeline. Moscow could very well refuse to talk to anyone (much as Washington has until now refused to talk to Moscow) and simply say “look, here’s how this is going to be, because you had your chance to overthrow this regime and you failed. The Kremlin is simply allowing Washington, Riyadh, and Ankara to save face by making it appear as though there’s some kind of dialogue going on. This is farcical and thanks to the fact that Sergei Lavrov has a low tolerance for farcical charades, we got a look at the true nature of the talks in the post-summit press conference. Here’s Lavrov:

"Of course, there will be speculation. The speculation appeared before this meeting even took place. I heard that the rumors are being spread already that it has been agreed on in some place or another that in some period of time Assad will step down. This is not the case,"

There you go. That being the case, it’s not even clear what there was to discuss (as an aside, there’s something rather disconcerting about other nations meeting to decide the fate of a sovereign state in the first place).

Additionally, Moscow continued to call out Washington for not sharing intelligence and for branding certain rebel groups as “moderates.” In what probably amounts to a joke disguised as a serious suggestion, Lavrov said he’d be happy to provide airstrikes in support of The Free Syrian army (presumably as they fight extremists) if the US would be so kind as to identify the “the patriotic opposition.’”

Meanwhile, Russia has apparently deployed special forces to Syria. Here’s WSJ:

Russia has sent a few dozen special-operations troops to Syria in recent weeks, Russian and Western officials say, redeploying the elite units from Ukraine as the Kremlin shifts its focus to supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

“The special forces were pulled out of Ukraine and sent to Syria,“ a Russian Ministry of Defense official said, adding that they had been serving in territories in eastern Ukraine held by pro-Russia rebels. The official described them as “akin to a Delta Force,” the U.S. Army’s elite counterterrorism unit.

A senior Western official also said a contingent of elite Russian forces was on the ground in Syria from eastern Ukraine. A U.S. defense official said one of their roles is to provide coordination between Syrian troops and Russian aircraft conducting airstrikes in support of the regime’s ground offensive.

“The Russians are operating very closely with Syrian units,” the defense official said.

The Russian ministry official said the assets sent to Syria in recent weeks include the Zaslon unit, trained to protect diplomatic assets and personnel. Nearly two dozen Russian military-intelligence officers are also on site to liaise with Mr. Assad’s military intelligence, the official said.

“There certainly are ‘little green men’ in Syria,” the U.S. defense official said.

On that note, we leave you with the following graphics from Sputnik which map Russian airstrikes and aggregate the damage Moscow’s warplanes have inflicted on ISIS targets.

US had over 6700 airstrikes against ISIS over a year and achieved not even a dent in ISIS's capability.  And Russia has significantly degraded ISIS with 669 missions.

Haha... so funny...

...wow that was a gut buster. Does this "defense official" have anymore?

If their drones are so good at auto-detecting green camouflage on the ground why couldn't they pick up white Nike sneakers? Or the Toyota convoys?

No doubt the green camouflage is used to warn uncle satan's drones to not take pot shots at embedded Russians or risk WWIII, but this degenerate is too fucking stupid to realize that.

An election in Syria will only take place in secure areas where Assad has support.  Any other location would be to dangerous.   Assad would likely choose his challenger anyway.

Putin is supporting Assad instead of sacrificing the country to Sunni sectarians.

How exactly does that benefit Israel? A stable government in Syria (or in any country with land between the Nile and the Euphrates for that matter) is not what Israel wants as far as I can see.

well they have switched violence providers in an alliance for iraqi oil, wipe out more iraqis with isis (create a crisis manage the crisis) then wipe out isis. russia gets syria and all europe under its energy stranglehold and a larger role in the region with iraqi control after america bugs out and they tie up with iran cutting off saudi arabia from a land route north. what do the jews get? back to the rothschilds playbook, banking banking and more banking enslaving every government to debt created out of thin air, what did the jews get out of the iraq war? afghanistan? a united states 19 trillion dollars in debt, they are just moving on to the next host because the usa is tapped out, the next host is china and russia and we are paying them to stick the knife in our backs. they have been at it a long time and the playbook has been refined to perfection.

with assad that makes some sense since his hold on power has been so seriously challenged by the empire.

1yr, 6,700 airstrikes & $4bn after Obama vowed to ‘destroy’ ISIS, jihadists still on offensive Published time: 10 Sep, 2015 05:58 https://www.rt.com/news/314885-isis-usa-anniversary-campaign/

The US arming of ISIS

For his part, US Deputy Under Secretary of State Anthony Blinken insisted that Washington and its allies are pursuing a “winning strategy,” and that it would succeed “if we remain united, determined and focused.”

Over the past several weeks, this “winning strategy” has seen ISIS capture Ramadi, the capital of Iraq’s Anbar province, as well as the historic city of Palmyra in Syria. In the past few days, ISIS forces have advanced into Aleppo province in Syria, overrunning rival Islamist militias and Syrian government troops as well. This offensive has proceeded without any interference from US and allied warplanes supposedly waging an air war against ISIS.

“Focused” is scarcely a word that any objective observer would use to describe US policy in the region. While claiming to be committed to a war against ISIS, Washington and its regional allies have time and again proven themselves to be its principal sources of strength.

Why Russia is Serious about Fighting Terrorism and the US Isn’t. America Protects Al Qaeda and ISIS

Whilst the US has [allegedly] been bombing ISIS for over a year, ISIS has only grown and gained more ground in Syria. A few months ago ISIS took over the ancient city of Palmyra in Syria, a UNESCO world heritage-listed site.

The US sees the Syrian state as one of the last spheres of Russian influence beyond the borders of the former Soviet Union, and a threat to its Israeli ally in the region. The presence of ISIS and other terrorists groups serves these interests. The US has a history of using terrorism to topple governments friendly to Russia. Al Qaeda itself was borne of the US objective to topple the Soviet friendly government of Afghanistan. The dismemberment of Russian-friendly Serbia and the creation of Kosovo was done via the same means.

More recently ISIS was a direct result of the US’s intervention in Iraq, and have only arrived in Libya and Syria in the wake of overt US-backed regime change efforts there. Although Libya and Iraq did not have relations with Russia as strong as Syria’s, Russia was still their main weapons supplier. It is therefore not surprising that since Russia entered the war in Syria, Saudi clerics and the Muslim Brotherhood – both US state assets – declared ‘jihad’ on Russia.

More Global Research - Israeli IDF Colonel Leading ISIS Terrorists Arrested in Iraq "“The Israeli colonel’s name is Yusi Oulen Shahak and is ranked colonel in Golani Brigade of the Zionist regime’s army with the security and military code of Re34356578765az231434.”

Google his name.  It is now widely reported, but not in the U.S.  It will be interesting to watch and see how long they can keep a lid on this, especially considering that he is being 'interrogated' by Iraqi security forces.

http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.aspx?nn=13940730000210

"The security and popular forces have held captive an Israeli colonel," a commander of Iraq's popular mobilization forces said on Thursday.

"The Zionist officer is ranked colonel and had participated in the Takfiri ISIL group's terrorist operations," he added.

Noting that he was arrested along with a number of ISIL terrorists, the commander said, "The Israeli colonel's name is Yusi Oulen Shahak and is ranked colonel in Golani Brigade of the Zionist regime's army with the security and military code of Re34356578765az231434."

He said that the relevant bodies are now interrogating the Israeli colonel to understand the reasons behind his fighting alongside the ISIL forces and the presence of other Zionist officers among ISIL terrorists.

The Iraqi security forces said the captured colonel has already made shocking confessions.

Several ISIL militants arrested in the last one year had already confessed that Israeli agents from Mossad and other Israeli espionage and intelligence bodies were present in the first wave of ISIL attacks on Iraq and capture of Mosul in Summer 2014, but no ranking Israeli agent had been arrested.

Political and military experts told FNA that the capture of the Israeli colonel will leave a grave impact on Iraq's war strategy, including partnership with Israeli allies.

In a relevant development in July, Iraqi volunteer forces announced that they had shot down a drone that was spying on the Arab country's security forces in the city of Fallujah, Western Iraq.

Iraq's popular forces reported that they had brought down a hostile surveillance aircraft over the Southeastern Fallujah in Anbar Province.

They said that the wreckage of the ISIL's spy drone carried 'Israel-Made' labels.

This was not the first Israeli-made drone downed in Iraq.

In August an Israeli Hermes drone was shot down in the vicinity of Baghdad Airport.

If  you spent more time outside between your masturbation breaks, you might meet a real woman some day.  You would be surprised what you can learn from talking to a real live female, instead of a cheap blow up doll.

In answer to your comment:

"And since this blog once was a financial blog, here's a free finanacial advice"

We once had a financial system, but it has now become a pathetic joke.

Consequently, many of us started a journey to find out why.  What we learned has taken us into the intricate world of International finance and how we are all being used and manipulated.  We see how the entire world is being plundered and ripped apart by these financial monsters known as Central Banks, as they finance wars and gradually impoverish us by creating money from thin air and use it to buy up & control the real hard assets of nations.

You should be thankful for those of us who have lived a long life, and paid enough attention along our journey to amass a certain degree of understanding, and come here both as seekers and as sharers of insights gained along the way.  Many senior posters are retired and have the time to be heavily involved with this site.  They also tend to have the most knowledge and clear insight to what is really going on.  Are there trolls?  Could some possibly be paid?  Probably so, but they don't have much to actually contribute, and quickly lose any credibility.

Remember, there is a vast difference between being smart or intelligent, and being wise.  Many very smart people never seem to gain wisdom.

Well, then your wisdom alarmbells should be going off.

I lose respect for any site that becomes ravingly one-sided - especially on the political front. I've always concidered myself independent in thought. That means arguing with all and any and I don't hold on to values or ideas without challenging them time and again and be prepared to learn from others. We know the world is a mess of grey, yet we categorise in black and white. This place has lost its capability to see the grey and has increasingly started to push a very one-sided political agenda. Intellectually mature people should be capable to gain distance and perspective from that.

Well, my little German treasure, which "side" has the Hedge become ravingly one-sided in favor of?

I think most here have come to realize that when it comes to political 'sides', the parties have us meaninglessly going at one another while they take turns picking our pockets.  So, the my side v. your side gets shouted down pretty quickly.

If you are talking about what some see as 'Putin Love', it is has also been explained over and over that it isn't so much a love for Putin as it is disgust and revulsion at what our so-called leadership has foisted onto America.  We long for a clearly patriotic, strong leader to get us back onto the path America once followed, instead of this rotten and corrupt war-mongering, crony capitalist shit hole we have devolved into.

Or, maybe it is the fact that we are coming to the realization that our financial system is controlled by forces outside America's boundaries - forces that do not seem to have the interest of this country ahead of all others.  An awakening to the deep penetration of government agencies and the MIC by dual citizens with interests that are out of sync with the best interests of America.

Please Schatzi, for the sake of our relationship, clue us in on the one-sided slant you see when as waste your time here criticizing.

For me 2007-2008 was the "Great Awakening"... I was basically just a oblivious Zombie before ZH. I'd say 40% of my awakening was ZH articles, and 60% has been the comments (both for and against any topic).

Now I'm a terrified Zombie who sees the strings and hidden powers in the Matrix, which were always there.

The most painful thing is that so many friends and families remain oblivious Zombies despite any attempt to even gently steer them towards the truth.

The up side is being able to see things coming from way far off (even if sometimes worrying about events way too early).

The separation of politics from economics in academia is a recent phenomenon. They used to be considered as a single discipline and frankly, if you invest without regard to both, you will most certainly lose money, if not your shirt.

The "Evidence" regarding the "Malaysian passenger aircraft' clearly shows the West shot down that plane...I would back up that statement with evidence, but the West refuses to release it...

From the Final Dutch Report:

"It should be noted that many pieces of the wreckage were not physically examined by the Dutch Safety Board until four months after the crash. During this period some parts were removed, therefore it was not possible to retrieve all wreckage pieces."

Who "removed" these "some parts"? Russia?...yeah, I don't think so...

Note they also don't specifically name these "missing pieces"...what's missing? Something irrelevant like the toilet paper roll holder, or something important like...WHAT?

The Dutch were allowed to examine the "pieces" that showed a Russian made missile brought down the plane...but the Black Box was taken to the UK...and the "missing pieces" held by "someone" for FOUR MONTHS, are well, still "missing".

Speculation here, and I'm no BUK expert...but common sense says these missiles have to have some sort of serial number for inventory purposes...any chance they found a "piece" of the wreckage containing a part of missile with that serial number? Pure speculation...but "missing pieces" opens the door wide open for speculation.

Normally when a Country fights and dies for it's leadership (Assad has many interests and people that work for him) a leadership in this case is a sovereign Nation especially when unwanted influence is coming from outside through the use of "proxies" in this case that are paid through organized fascist oligarchic government(s) like the ones attempting to destroy Damascas for the last 4 years...

Not to be confused with a schizoid terminally ill Country who's populous is on meds and is indifferent to the continual  rape, theft and murder everywhere else outside their own borders through elected "leaders" that swear oaths to a facade of words that are in opposition to their own criminality is nothing less than what you call a "democratic" regime known as the United States of America!

This looks like it's one of the tactics used by US forces in Syria/Iraq to minimise any bombing damage to its ISIS terrorist friends:

from that article at http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/iraq-authorises-russia-strike-islamic-...

" "They [the US-led coalition] refuse to strike private cars, mosques, bridges, schools despite the fact Daesh militants are mainly using these places as headquarters," a senior military officer [...] told MEE."

"The US-led rules, which enforces verification of targets, regularly give IS militants time to save their supplies, equipment and fighters, they said."

I don't see any similar constraint by US forces when it comes to bombing hospitals and wedding parties...

What a PR coup  -we need to release dailly videos showing our power. Let's show the world how we blew up a terrorist base set up in that Hospital in Afghanistan. Let them see all the terrorist weddings where we have unleashed our awesome power and destruction. Let them see all the potholes we have made in the middle of the Syrian desert  - Let them see all the roads, bridges, power plants we have detroyed in Syria and Iraq. I think we even killed an ISIS guy once. There are photos of Israeli doctors trying to save him, but sadly, he passed away. Let the world see the power of America and quake in fear.

Russia will meet with Syria on how to move forward, on stopping isis, and stabilizing the future of Syria.

Kerry, "usa" will meet with s.a., and turkey to plan what's best for themselves in Syria, there's your 81% Syrian mistrust.

three's a misprint in the article, slight but telling, there's a difference between air-strikes, and air-drops.

I'm waiting for the line of moderate refugees to start backing up, going to e.u., and flood turkey.

Turkey," nato, usa", supplied the sarin gas used in Syria, 81% mistrust.

Hey Dork_Bartar/Hasbara troll

Spell it right now, ya' hear?  It's 'JEWS' NOT 'JOOOOS'.   Aw shucks, have some respect for yourself now!

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that the US government is owned by INTERNATIONAL BANKERS because they were given the monopoly power to create all of our money OUT OF THIN AIR!!!!  AT INTEREST.  As Jefferson said, 'first by inflation, then by deflation', the INTERNATIONAL BANKS SEIZE PROPERTY AND TAXES.  Credit money created out of thin air, I mean deposits, is then itself deposited, becoming now a new deposit, and forming the basis for further creation of credit ad infinitum. The money owed back to the bankers grows each day because of interest while the original credit created never grows, thus the debts ALWAYS EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF MONEY AVAILABLE TO SATSIFY THEM COMPLETELY.  This leads to guaranteed bankruptcy from DAY ONE.

The Rothschilds, the richest of the bankers, funded the purchase of land from the native Arabs in Palestine and also arranged a deal to get the US into WWI in return for the Balfour declaration.   These bankers continue to direct US foreign policy resulting in Israel getting BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF AID PER YEAR from the US taxpayer who ironically is made to borrow the money from the Jewish Bankers at interest!!

The INTERNATIONAL BANKERS, directed the US GOVERNMENT to ignore the theft by Israel of hundreds of pounds of enriched Uranium in 1966, and they directedc the US government to apply ZERO PRESSURE on Israel to open Dimona for inspection

http://lobelog.com/israels-stolen-nuclear-materials-why-it-still-matters/

Israel is led by the vicious, tribalist, and racist LIKUD PARTY; their Chief Rabbi Yosef in  nationwide radio address in 2010, had these words for the MAJORITY of Israel Jews who support the Likud party Zionist/religious platoform (when he died in 2013, over a million mourners lined the streets of Jerusalem):

"Goyim were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world – only to serve the People of Israel.”

“In Israel, death has no dominion over them… With gentiles, it will be like any person – they need to die, but [God] will give them longevity. Why? Imagine that one’s donkey would die, they’d lose their money."

“This is his servant… That’s why he gets a long life, to work well for this Jew.”

“Why are gentiles needed? They will work, they will plow, they will reap. We will sit like an effendi and eat… That is why gentiles were created.”

http://www.timesofisrael.com/5-of-ovadia-yosefs-most-controversial-quotations/

Now Dork, I don't mean to be disrepectful to you, but it is OBVIOUS that two groups of people, both contained in a very small set of people CALLED THE JEWS (and their several thousand non-Jew allies among the oligarchs), are FUNDAMENTALLY OPPOSED opposed to 1) NATURAL HUMAN RIGHTS (as in the right to earn REAL MONEY by ones own labor and that no individual that they do business with has the legal right to create said money out of nothing!!!!) and 2) the attendant ASPIRATION FOR THE FORMATION OF NATIONAL IDENTITY (you know, like the Swedes want to play the polka, Italians attend the opera, Germans drink beer,  English swear and get rowdy....etc).  This small groups of people would be NORMALLY IGNORED, MARGINALIZED, AND EVEN RIDICULED if not for the fact that one of these groups in the set of JEWS, the INTERNATION BANKERS as opposed to the racist rabid rabbis, OWN THE VERY MONEY WE NEED TO CARRY OUT OUR EVERYDAY TASKS, PROVIDE FOR OUR FAMILIES, AND RUN OUR GOVERNMENTS!!!!!!!  These bankers now run Europe VIA THE EMF so no polical control has been entirely replaced by Banker control.

As for the religious part of this group, we see that Rabbi Yosef has declared war on Non Jews because he says THAN THE ONLY PURPOSE THAT NON JEWS HAVE IN LIFE IS TO TO SERVE JEWS!!!!  Without serving Jews, 'they' (meaning non jews) have no purpose in life (in other words, have no reason to live and therefore can be killed WITHOUT REMOARSE OR GUILT !!!!).  We see the constant murder of Palestinian teenagers trying to protect their land, by Israel soldiers; no remoarse is shown.  None, Nada, Zip.   We are seeing the face in these young IDF soldeirs that we saw in photos of Nazis killing slavs, jews, gypsies,...etc.    Thus the MAJORITY OF THE RELIGIOUS ESTABLISHMENT OF ISRAEL IS AT WAR WITH NON JEWS

Ask a religious jew WHO IS ALSO A ZIONIST, about Rabbi Yosef's words that God intends non jews to serve jews and he will NOT CONTRADICT THEM!!!!

ZIONISM IS EQUIVALENT TO NAZISM, with the word Aryan replaced by the word Jew.  Actually Zionism is worse because it employs religious justification for the underpinning of it's belief, not raw strength as in Nazisms.  That is why Bibi  admires Hitler in a sick way; Hitler exteminated undesirable groups in Germany while Bibi so far can only dream about exterminating Palestinians.  In fact Hitler was the biggest supporter of the settlement of Jews in Palestinel!!!!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haavara_Agreement

The best friends forever relationship between the Zionists and the Nazis occured later in 1944, when the Nazis wanted to exterminate the Hungarian Jews.  Look up the Kastener Affair. The leadership of the Jews in Jewish controlled Palestine worked with the Nazis in return for being allowed to choose 2000 selected Jews to be moved by train through Switzerland and thence to Palestine.  The Jewish leadership then instructed the rabbis in Hungary to tell the 600K Hungarian Jews to board the trains to Auschwitz, telling them that they were going to a pleasant relocation camp.  There were only a few dozen SS in Hungary; the Jews could have  been told to run to Romania; they could have been given the chance to fight but they were sold out.

http://forward.com/culture/116718/kasztner-hero-or-devil/

I cannot imagine a similar situation occuring to any other group and the record of it being so thoroughly ignored by the History Channel and MSM.

Why?  Well who owns the MSM AND HOLLYWOOD?  The INTERNATIONL BANKERS!!!!.

Now fat, dumbed down Americans have been the proverbial Golem (a Jewish religious belief that from time to time a dumb powerful beast is sent by God to come to their rescue) for the Jews but millions of Americans each year are waking up; perhaps 10% of adults are now, but this is 100x more than believed it 20 years ago.   The recent book "Methodical Deception" has helped.  The Russians were run by the Jews until they all left in the 1980's with the plan to come back in the 1990s and privatize the former USSR.  They succeeded for awhile until the Russian military, via Putin, threw them out.  The Russians are still shocked by what happened to them by the Jews (who formed the majority of communist party officials), but their orthodox Christianity makes them feel that in some way, God was punishing them.  They have tremendous discipline and scientific/artistic/athletic potential and thus are the target for elimination as a cultural group by the Jewish bankers, just as the Germans were a 100 years ago (the point of WWI was to reduce Germans to vassals of the bankers).

Catholics with the ability to 'confess' their sins to a priest  and therefore relieve themselves of sin, are less likely than Othrodox Christians for this sort of sense that punishment is justified and Catholics therefore have been among the first to get rid of Jewish control (as seen in South America).

The Chinese never will be a Golem to the Jews , are thus the biggest long term obstacle for the INTERNATIONAL BANKERS.  Attacking China head on is being postponed while Russia is dealt with first

Russia is forming a regional powerbloc (Iraq, Iran, Syria, the Stans) that will create a Muslim Christian alliance against the Jewish controlled West.   Russian being part Asiatic and part European, has the most to lose if Jews win because they will go back to the poverty and degradation of the 1990s.  China is going to be tested by the Jews using financial methods, but the Chinese have an even older civilization than the Ashkenazi's Jews (descended from Khazair, a finnish Turkic people that controlled the Ukraine in the Middle Ages and converted to Judaism).

The battle lines are being drawn up in this WWIV (WWIII being the war that started in 1946 and ended with the disintergration of the USSR in the early 1990s); the Jewish controlled West against the Russian/Muslim powerblock and China (along with the African interests).  The Jewish led West is disintegrating due to the inherent predatory nature of the International Bankers on their host countries.  South America, South Korea, and Japan among others are watching from the sidelines.

USA ansd Russia have a secret deal on Syria: The deal is aimed at preventing aerial accidents calls for U.S. and Russian pilots to avoid targeting or shooting at aircraft engaged in military strikes, according to defense officials. Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook told reporters Tuesday that details of the agreement, reached this week, are being kept secret at the request of the Russians. According to other defense officials, the accord states that aircraft, including both jets and unmanned drone aircraft, will not illuminate aircraft from other countries with targeting radar or fire upon them. Also, the agreement bans aerobatic maneuvers, such as barrel rolls, or what pilots call “thumps”—close passes by aircraft that involve gunning engines and causing target aircraft to be shaken by jet wash.
