Dramatic Footage From The Syrian War In Aleppo And Palmyra

Tyler Durden's picture

Back in May, ISIS seized the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra, a UNESCO world heritage site.

The world immediately began to panic at the prospect of the city’s destruction at the hands of Islamic State. Since then, there have been various reports which indicate ISIS has in fact decimated a few treasures of antiquity and indeed, some of that destruction reportedly involved tying prisoners to ancient columns and then subsequently blowing them up (that "intelligence" comes from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights so one should take it with a grain of salt).

(an image purporting to show the destruction of ancient ruins)

Palmyra is but one key city the Assad regime and its Russian and Iranian allies are attempting to retake. Others include Aleppo, where Hezbollah and IRGC forces are fighting under cover of Moscow's warplanes to wrest control from a hodgepodge of rebels and militants.

Over the past few weeks, we've brought you images from the front lines including snapshots of Iran's most powerful general rallying Shiite militias ahead of the push north towards Aleppo, visuals from inside the city, and high-def drone footage which gives you an idea of what it's like to live in a war zone.

Below, we present two videos. The first shows pro-regime forces advancing on Palmyra and the second puports to document rebels fighting to keep control of Aleppo.

At least they found the source of all those damn Toyota pickups. Turns out it was a Kurdish stooge that was buying tons of them in Iraq and then trading the Hiluxes to ISIS in exchange for crude oil.  The crude would then be trucked or piped to Turkey, which was then sent to Ceyhan for export to Israel at a discount. Some of them were purchased either by or for U.S. military contractors. No idea if they guy actually had to buy them from them directly or just took the U.S. taxpayer-funded shipments. This will all be censored and scrubbed from Western media - corrupt, thieving outfits like Haliburton and DynCorp probably don't need the additional bad publicity.

Iraq and most Kurds don't want any of their oil sold to Israel. The Kurd arranging all this was one of the corrupt ones on the CIA/Mossad gravy train of bribes and payoffs. No doubt a very rich Kurd now who can't wait to get the hell out of the Middle East with his hard-earned Hilux-for-oil scheme profits. I'm sure the traitorous Israeli-firster Sec. of Defense Ass Carter will launch an immediate and thorough investigation. And then deny any U.S./Israeli involvement.

In a related note, Toyota has issued a recall for the ISIS Hiluxes for a faulty rear differential sensor. In rare cases, the switch may become disconnected and not report low fluid levels in the 4WD model's differential case. Toyota cautions ISIS to avoid operation of all 12.5 mm and above anti-aircraft weapons such as the popular DShK from the bed of the pickup. This may induce beyond-design-basis vibrations that could result in the sensor becoming disconnected. ISIS anti-armor weapons, such as the U.S.-taxpayer-provided TOW-2A can continue to be used. ISIS Hilux owners are encouraged to comply with the recall as early as possible. Toyota will provide loaner DShK-equipped Hiluxes during the fully-covered warranty repairs and apologizes for any inconvenience to the head-choppers.

What utter nonsense. A Kurd doing business with ISIS????? You should have realized from that moment on that your source is not to be believed.

It's simple. Obama - the Muslim - is behind the Toyotas. He's been supplying ISIS and continues to supply ISIS while claiming he's supplying the Syrian Free Army. He knows damn well that his supplies mostly get comandeered by ISIS.

If Obama, ostensibly an American, can supply trucks, amongst other things, to ISIS then why is it so incredible to think a supposed Kurd might be any better?

Why is it not believable that the Kurd is a CIA asset and thus working for Obama and carrying out Lord Rothschild's desires?

Great post and notably, more evidence that the US has, at a minimum, not actually been interested in fighting ISIS.

http://www.counterpunch.org/2015/10/12/us-caught-faking-it-in-syria/

One also suspects that the Israelis have had a much bigger hand in assisting ISIS than even the US .gov appreciates.

Why?

Because ISIS is essentially fulfilling the Oded Yinon Plan

Because only Rita fucking Katz could find their vids, and because they'd rather claim to want to destroy Hamas than Israel - amongst many, many other things.

To be clear, this is Netanyahu and the right wing batshit Zios, not the average Israeli. One has to repeatedly give this obvious caveat, it seems.

In the kind of scenario you seem to be discussing it would be highly advised to evade rather than engage.  If the adversary is well tech-equipped they will also have heavier weapons and so simply outrange you anyway.  Let's not get into the likelyhood of them also having enough manpower to deploy as blocking units.

If they out tech you then run or ambush at close range where you can get them all and then escape.

TheReplacement's picture

AKs are definitely improving in regards to features and ergonomics now that American companies are really starting to respond to the need to make the AK fit a longer frame and attach tacticool gear.

Waffen Werks was making a nice 74 for about 800, though not westernized.  Krebs might have something for you.  I do recommend American stuff because they are here versus over there when you need service.  Plus they tend to be small business regular American Joes so it is the patriotic thing to do.

The 74 will give you the ability to carry more ammo and it does ugly things to flesh.  You can still get the penetrator (Russian poison dart) round pretty readily.

The 47 will give you more knockdown and punch through power (like shooting thru cars and walls).

Ammo is cheap for both.  If you can afford it, go with comblock mags.  I have found the cheapest American made to be fairly reliable for range use.

300m is far for either.  AK=not all that accurate unless you put some money into the rifle and then it probably still won't match an AR.  I think the idea always was to crawl through the mud and get up close before you open up.  Trading simplicity and reliability for expansive, less reliable but more accurate.

I prefer reliability.  That is why I and ISIS both drive Toyotas, the most reliable on the planet.  Of course the CIA is not paying for mine, rather, I am and my taxes are paying for the CIA so they can run drugs out of Afghanistan to pay for ISIS' trucks.

Heads they win and tails I lose.

you are referencing the benito mussolini era fascism.  current widely used definitions for fascism range from "opressive government" to "corporatocracy" to "progressivism" to "crony capitalism."  islamo-fascism would seem to imply theocratic totalitarian imperialism.

I completely disagree. The definition of 'fascism' is as clear as it ever was, at home and abroad. Also this guy's channel as well, though he hasn't updated in 6 months: https://www.youtube.com/user/adri12345/videos

Me too. I followed the Ukrainian war as far as possible using the various video services and the Russian Rebels sites. Official Ukrainian TV also shows much.

The battle for the airport over a year ago was where some epic coverage came out! Tanks, APC's, infantry combat, heavy anti tank guns. Pretty heavy battle footage came out of the Donetsk airport.

Look for footage from Yemen! There are many videos of men versus tanks with ATGM and RPG. Some of the best are Saudi tanks and APC's being hit at long range by older model Soviet ATGM. One look at these open country videos and you can see why Israel's Armor was badly beaten up in Lebanon, where ATGM gunners had cover to operate from.

National Public Radio today came up with another carefully crafted and artful piece of propaganda and half truths.

NPR reported that Doctors Without Borders in Syria has report an increase in attacks on their hospitals in the war zones. Specifically they mention 2 hit and 30+ dead and injured this week. NPR added to the story saying "these hospital were in the zone of Russian bombing". All true. But an artful halftruth. Anyone listening puts two and two together. Now lets hear what DWB really said!

" The escalation of attacks by air forces the group did not identify, which began in late September, had targeted 12 hospitals in Idlib, Aleppo and Hama provinces, including six supported by MSF, a statement said."

"

Russia launched air strikes in Syria on September 30 in support of long-time ally President Bashar al-Assad, whose own forces have been bombing his opponents for years.

And a U.S.-led coalition has also been carrying out an aerial military campaign in the country for more than a year."

Both the USA, now proven to be a targeter of DWB's hospitals. And Russia are carrying out air strikes. Nowhere does DWB say Russian strikes are hitting the hospitals. In fact, so many hospitals have been hit BEFORE Russia even began, that left pretty much the USA  as the major bomber at a time when many DWB hospitals had been hit. Conclusion is either side could have done it, but for now, the USA is the only PROVEN hospital bomber in Syria.

Good catch Latina! I dod not know that, and I found it odd that DWB hospitals have been being hammered in Syria since long before any Russian plane darkened the skies over Syria. Saudi just bombed one in Yemen. The USA in Afghanistan. Now NPR is trying to pin Syrian hits on Russia. Who benefits is the question that we always must ask. MH-17 being prime.

Why destroy Palmyra when there are more pressing strategic and tactical matters?

The hatred of "idols" and "pagans" is a deep part of both Wahhabist Sunni Islam and Orthodox Judaism and ultimately come from the same bizarre idea that icons or statues are "prayed-to" -which would be news to both Catholic and Orthodox Christians, but I digress...

I think destroying evidence of the past, to be substituted with Torah/Old Testament Revisionist History is part of the goal here.

ISIS is a golem for Greater Israel. That the CIA may be running a large part of it does not mean that it is not, in its essence, a "Zionist" teleology at work.

Since archaeology in recent decades has *disproven* Old Testament accounts, and since the myths of a Solomonic and Davidic Empire have NO EVIDENCE while evidence of other empires and peoples is absolutely stuff one trips over ....

As Orwell knew - it becomes very important indeed to destroy evidence of a real, competing past.

And fwiw - I'm not talking shit because I dislike religion. I'm familiar with "biblical archaeology" and the fuckery it has produced. The "Wailing Wall" is not what the faithful think it is {and btw isn't sticking notes in there and praying the same sort of "idolatry" Russians are doing when they light candles and pray at icons? The hatred of "idolaters" is really just hatred of people outside the in-group.

Coins from 17AD found under Jerusalem's Western Wall hints sacred site NOT built by Herod
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2065254/Coins-Jerusalems-...

The Strange Story of the False Wailing Wall
http://askelm.com/temple/t000701.htm

"The "Temple of Solomon", centrepiece of an ancient imperial capital and Yahweh's very own residence on earth, has ever cast its chimeric shadow over the Jewish people. The fabulous sanctuary has engaged the interest and excited the imagination of enthusiasts of the esoteric ever since the yarn of the mighty Jewish king was first told.

Solomon's arcane wisdom, supposedly encoded within the very measurements of the Temple itself, sustained Freemasonry for centuries. The purported clandestine activities of mediaeval Templars and Kabbalists have been regularly woven into complex "mysteries" in which lost treasures, even artifacts of the divine, await the intrepid. But for all the adventure, and considerable baloney, in reality, not a single stone of the Temple – nor the entire Solomonic theme park for that matter – has ever been unearthed.

In recent times, a single 4-centimetre pomegranate, the "ornamental barb of a priestly staff", enjoyed fame as the sole evidence of the Temple's existence – until it too was exposed as fake!

Why the deceit? For the priesthood of Judaism the grand illusion of a Temple of Solomon was a necessary one: it supported both the myth of God's patronage of the chosen people and the comforting dream of a once and future empire. This simple tale of fantasy and fraud begins with the purchase of a hilltop and leads rapidly to mass murder. But then, we are talking of religion."

http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/templemount.htm

"For Jews and Christians alike, "The Temple in the time of Jesus" has long held a special value. For Jews it is central to their cherished notions of an ancient and powerful kingdom and a tangible link to the splendours of Solomon and even to God himself. For Christians it is the venue of many favourite episodes in the yarn of Jesus, evidence both of his existence and – in its destruction – of the displacement of Judaism by Christianity.

How, then, to evaluate the descriptions of Herod's handiwork given by Josephus in Wars and Antiquities? Josephus takes an obvious pride in the sanctuary that King Herod built for the Jews. Writing in the shadow of defeat, with the temple in ruin, Josephus felt obligated to defend the former glories of his people before they were led astray by sedition.

Greek writers questioned the truthfulness of his histories and Josephus responded with recriminations of his own (Against Apion). Yet when it came to the Temple – the heart and soul of Judaism – did his objectivity desert him? Josephus poured scorn on the Greeks for their subjective histories but defended his own precisely because it was drawn from holy writ and therefore was "beyond reproach."

Archaeological evidence of the temple is in short supply but "models" proliferate, consistently grandiose but otherwise as varied as their designers' imaginations. Whether in the conflagration of the Jewish war or in later development of the concourse, the holy edifice was destroyed so completely that not even today's forensics can identify the footprint of the building, let alone cast a light on the true form of its purported monumental structure.

The partisan texts suggest a formidable structure but unlike the great sanctuaries of paganism, no non-Jewish source was moved to comment on this "wonder of the world."

Could it all be grossly exaggerated?"

http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/herods-temple.html

"In the city of Jerusalem both Herod the Great and the Roman Emperor Hadrian built on a monumental scale. Directing public works little more than a century apart, the two monarchs built in a similar style and with a common – Roman – technology. In the later Hadrianic period material from the earlier Herodian constructions was reused, resetting the distinctive "Herodian" blocks in new locations.

Both potentates wielded vast resources but an order of magnitude set them apart. For all his grandiosity, Herod was the client king of a minor kingdom; Hadrian was master of the Roman world at an apogee in the empire's fortunes. Among the resources at the emperor's disposal were the legions, the most effective instrument of construction, as well as destruction, in the ancient world.

Differentiating the works of the two sovereigns is neither easy nor, in the context of current politics, especially sought after. In some quarters, Herod – the half Jew – is viewed in a poor light, but then Hadrian, the nemesis of the Jews, is castigated as a vicious tyrant: “may his bones rot” is an injunction found in the Talmud itself. Much of the material written about the temples of Jerusalem fails even to mention the edifice built by Hadrian.

Great claims are made for Herod as a builder but could it be that Aelius Hadrianus was rather more involved in the sanctuary of Temple Mount than is generally supposed?"

http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/herod-vs-hadrian.html

" Supposedly, an Israelite empire flourished in the 10th century BC, during a time of temporary weakness of both Assyria and Egypt. Yet the fabled empire of David and Solomon remains just that: a fable, unsupported by any evidence – and empires normally leave a great deal of evidence. Archaeology is unequivocal: there was never the wealth, population, political cohesiveness, or literacy in the tiny settlement around Jerusalem to have ever dominated its more developed northern neighbours."

http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/solomon.htm

"The ancient Jewish hero David, "son of Jesse the Bethlehemite," is a "curiously elusive figure" (Oxford Companion to the Bible). In turns shepherd, giant killer, court musician, poet, warlord and king, nothing and no one outside the Bible notes his existence.

If a historical 'Dawid' inspired tales of a legendary king, the original was an inconsequential bandit chieftain in the Judaean hills, nothing more. Possibly the only element of truth in the biblical story is the episode of David as renegade and outlaw leader, living from theft."

Temple of Solomon = Hagia Sophia

Take my word for it.  Or not.  But it is an EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE, very old temple!  And when Suleiman built his 'Blue Mosque', in the same style, just down the road, I guess it confused some tourists/scholars.

Suleiman's wife was a Russian, Roxelana.  Many Jews lived in Constantinople/Istanbul at that time.

When the Jews were removed from power, primarily with the siege of Constantinople in 1453 (moneylending priest class, essentially), they had a 'diaspora' to the rest of Europe, esp. Venice, Genoa, Portugal, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and later, England.   They decided to rewrite history, to paint themselves in a favorable light, and to increase their credibility (a religious belief that is 1000 years old is apparently more prestigious than a tradition of 100 years).

see Fomenko.  And yes, if you just read the summary of his work you are likely to think he is nuts, but as someone who has spent A LOT of time on the subject of false Chronology, he is easily among the best.

Really?

Because Netanyahu recently said that it was a Palestinian that convinced Hitler {may he rot in boiling feces} to exterminate Germany's Jews.

I can tell you're a bright guy though, not one to confuse map with territory, or 'thing' with 'name of the thing' so you might enjoy perusing the following:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinians#DNA_and_genetic_studies

I tend to think one would be hard pressed to name Wikipedia as "pro-Palestinian".

Speaking of Netanyahu, did you know that his father was a terrorist, from Europe, who changed the family name from Polish?

In other words - Netanyahu's family has been living in "Israel" for quite a short time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Mileikowsky

But they have a "right" to live there, *and* to use violence to dispossess people, as I understand it, because they are not "Polish" despite living there for centuries, but "Jews" - which is sometimes a religion and sometimes an ethnic group, apparently depending on what the argument is.

I myself don't understand claims based on remote ancestry, particularly when one's nearer ancestry has been many hundreds of years of living elsewhere.

Besides - if one has a "right" to the lands of remote ancestors, and that is exclusive, shouldn't that mean Zionism advocates that all Jews leave European homelands?

{this is not, to be clear, my position or wish - I'm suggesting that it would be the non-hypocritical logical result of "Birthright" Zionism}

Meanwhile, the "fakeistinians" - that is, the set of people we now call 'Palestinians' {a term that used to refer to the mostly Mizrahi and Sephardic native Jews of Palestine, oddly enough} not only have lived there for hundreds of years, but they are, along with the Jews present pre-Zionism, are the most direct descendants of the ancient denizens of that bloody region.

I am sure you are a dedicated proponent of historical and archaeological proof, so apologies if I have merely recited verses to the choir here.

I said this before, there is no physical link between land and DNA, and it is meaningless to claim in a historical sense for one people or another to be native to some land with arbitrary borders. To begin with, people migrate across the earth, people get exterminated and replaced on a scale of aeons. The fabled native americans came from Siberia and legend goes that white people came from central Asia.

The very way in which continuous lands are divided up in regions to facilitate comprehension is arbitrary. Why is the region spanning between North Africa to Iran "the middle east" and thought of as a natural division?  East of what?

For most of us history is but a bed time story and is only good to stimulate our imagination and motivate us to act in random directions. Dont look for historical rights or causes, they are meanigless, we improvise, do whatever we want, rewrite history and dream of a future that never arrives.

As was recently pointed out

Why destroy Palmyra

ISIS/ISIL/IS is a version of 'false flag' that we can call 'false father'.

A 'false flag' event is where one group takes an illegal action and makes it look like his enemy was responsible.

We saw this in 2013 outside of Damascus when the FSA and the Unbelievably Moderate Rebels accused Assad of using chemical weapons and killing hundreds of Syrians.

Another recent 'false flag' incident was the shooting down of MH17 in 2014.  While both these 'false flag' occurrences were intended to illustrate how low Russia and her allies would stoop to get what they wanted, IN FACT THEY BOTH WERE CREATED IN THE OVAL OFFICE AND SIGNED OFF BY THE NEGRO.

A 'false father' incident is when one group creates an outlaw group like ISIS, but denies its role in the creation.

THE NEGRO APPROVED OF THE CIA'S CREATION OF ISIS AND THE US IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR EXISTENCE.

The latest whistleblower is David Steele, a 20-year Marine Corps intelligence officer, and the second-highest-ranking civilian in the U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence. He is a former CIA clandestine services case officer, and this is what he had to say:

“Most terrorists are false flag terrorists, or are created by our own security services. In the United States, every single terrorist incident we have had has been a false flag, or has been an informant pushed on by the FBI. In fact, we now have citizens taking out restraining orders against FBI informants that are trying to incite terrorism. We’ve become a lunatic asylum.”

"religion of peace"

This quip seems to me to be most often utilized by people who seem to forget that "Christians" have murdered far, far more people than have Muslims.

They also forget that the CIA, and this is not controversial, founded Al Qaeda - and seem to be arming and supplying "Islamic terrorists" in Syria, Libya, and elsewhere.

Meaning that "Christians" are in fact behind a lot of the "Islamic" violence.

This isn't to say there are not any genuine Islamic nutjob violent jihadis... but oddly, many or most come from our "allies" Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

And there is plenty of violence in the Koran. I mean - not just past stuff but what would seem to be ongoing exhortations to violence.

But given 1.2 million muslims, if "Islam" per se were really so fundamentally violent, the world would be in even more chaos than it is now.

And most of the chaos now is due to the US, Israel, and past actions by same as well as the UK and France.

The point is that the folks perpetually claiming "Islam" is 'the' problem out to take a look at the plank of wood in their own eye.

They might also consider that 9/11 was most likely an inside job.... and I base my assessment largely on the collapse of North American air defenses on that fateful day.

Arab hijackers could not do that, nor could they know the best spots to turn off their transponders.

The failures of NORAD and other agencies under the Pentagon are absolutely flashing neon signs that the 'offical story' is nonsense - whether or not the buildings were laden with explosives or, as I tend to believe, damage and fires are in fact capable of bringing down structures which can be compromised by the thermal expansion of steel leading to overload and gravitationally perpetuated serial collapse.

I may be wrong, of course, not being God.

In your first video the second plane is indeed a MiG 21, and probably Syrian as the Russians do not (as yet) have any MiGs in country, but the first aircraft shown is not a MiG - it may be one of the Russian Sukoi airraft.

In looking close the first aircraft appears to be a Sukhoi SU-24. It is a two-man side-by-side aircraft with two engines and a "swing wing" like the US F-111.

If you watch the news here is Australia has gone full mushroom they feed us bullshit and keep us in the dark on us with no international news apart from sports.

You know the world has turned upside down when you have to go to a Russian news service to find out what is going on in the world.

From what I have seen it's is only a matter of time before the whole world goes full mushroom.

All of the different , well-funded variants of islamic "freedom feighters" are pretty much forked from the muslim brotherhood.

With what's going on in Syria and the South China Sea, I have a feeling Obama has a plan to get all those unemployed young people and minorities new jobs.

Somehow, I don't think that Obama has a plan.  An ego, yes, but not a plan.

Impressive RT reportage, with the exception of the show around 2:20 with two fully-exposed guys shooting rocks. By the way, it looks like the hills must be more than 300 mt away. Way too far for assault rifles to be effective.

300 meters is nothing for an assualt rifle.  A M4 carbine is good out to 600 and a M16 will do 800 all day long.

An AK-47 is a 6MOA rifle.  The newer variants of the AKs are a lot better, but the AKs best selling point is that it always goes *BANG* when you squeeze the trigger.

When I was in the army one of the main shooting drills was at full height man size moving targets at 300 m with AK-47. And it wasn't that difficult to hit them especially from knee stand position.

So - the US and allies haven't been able to cut off ISIS money, or fuel, to any discernible extent -

and they are objecting to Russian help why?

I'm actually asking by the way - my position is everyone is lying to me and I have no idea what is going on, but what I read in the paper, I feel confident, is mostly propaganda.

Some of these War Leaks videos shoudl be good - kind of a Deard Persian and Dead ISIS channel. All it needs is popcorn.

I'll look forward to the videos of missiles taking down Russian helicopters too. I wonder if the Islamic nutcases are still into cornholing the captive Russians before they execute them? That was the tradition in Afghanistan, anyway.

Ah, i guess it won't bother the Russians. They'll just claim that all the dead guys are Russian-speaking Ukrainians.
