Recovery Wrecked: American Employee Compensation Dropped In September For The First Time Since July 2013

Tyler Durden's picture

Despite all the promises, all the surveys, all the expectations that wage growth is coming (any minute now), September crushed the hopes (and changes) and dreams of Americans as, for the first time since July 2013, Compensation of Employees fell month-over-month. Recovery?

Must be time to hike rates!

Everything goes up but wages. It is outrageous, it is criminal, and this is not going to end well.

Food, Shelter and a bit of entertainment; why work for more than that?

Retirement savings? LOL...between here and "retirement" there is a gauntlet of "Bail-ins" and "HFT Traders" to overcome..and even if you beat them, then there's the bankers...setting rates at ZERO and then promising 2% (or more) of inflation; meaning that any "money" you save today, will be pretty much worthless by the time you reach "retirement"...only a sucker "saves for retirement"....and with most of the nation broke, it appears the American people are a lot smarter than they are credited.

$1 saved today, at 2% inflation will be worth:

.82 in 10 years

.67 in 20 years

.55 in 30 years

.45 in 40 years

.37 in 50 years

That's just 2% inflation!

Working and Saving has a lot of benefits; unfortunately, the greatest benefits of your saved labor are transfered to "someone" else as time rolls by...and that "someone else" isn't the Democrats' voting base...

Wages are not intended to rise.

That is why we have so much legal and illegal immigration, and why the US Chamber of Commerce continues to push for that immigration.

What is intended to rise is CONTROL.

Theoretically, the poorer we are, the easier it is to control us with money...

Lucky for us, it's actually very easy to get by on less, once you stop watching TV and getting manipulated into wanting lots of expensive, useless crap.

TPTB's obvious play for greater control of society is failing massively, IMO: a huge segment of the population has woken up and is freeing itself.  In Japan (where austerity has been applied for decades), nearly half of young men have sworn off women (and all the bling needed to attract them), and instead opt for a simple, ultra-cheap and fun life.

FREEDOM!!! :P

Capitalism Bitches!

Maximizing Profit and all that shit! No better way to increase profits than to cut wages!

Now shut your Leftist whiny ass the fuck up and get back to work before I export your job to someone that is desperate to earn a $1 an hour.

"Capitalism: an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state."

"Crony capitalism: is a term describing an economy in which success in business depends on close relationships between business people and government officials."

Those definitions got me thinking.
So private capital is controlled by those who own it, and they put it to best use.

What is that capital valued in?

Who controls that?

Henry Ford and Louis T. McFadden quotes are popping into my head.

"Private Capital" and TRADE!

Corporations control the TRADE...international and domestic...Corporations write the TRADE laws via "lobbying".

Those who "Own the Private Capital", effectively, own us...and treat us accordingly...

It ain't "Socialism" that's ailing us people!

Not that Socialism would fare any better; or another other pure "ism"...but we need to at least SEE AND ACCEPT what has failed here before we try to "Fix It".

Think deeper.

Company X has capital of $500 million USD.

USD is not a fixed variable.

Who controls the value of USD?

No, corporations can control their own side of trade.  If a corp trades with me, I control one side of that trade.  If a corp trades with a corp, each corp trades its own interests.  I'm not really seeing where a company, registered as a sole proprietorship does the Lords work, whereas if they convert into a corporation, Satan steps in to run things by ripping off consumers and exploiting the labor.  I was unaware that corporations had their own lobby.  I thought it was industry specific.  And it's the relationship with legislators that's the problem, then what you've really got is a problem with wealthy firms.  Which, would of course, ignore the other side of any lobbying effort - legislators.  So who's more evil, the firm that wants government protection from competition as has every firm since the dawn of the industrial age, or the governmental body that grants that protection when they are supposed to protect the people from favor-granting?

The job creators wanted globalization and their crony politicians gave it to them.  Now Americans can't afford to buy their shit anymore, and the foreigners still can't either. Dumb greedy fucks, they either forgot we live in a consumer economy, or figured debt to infinity would solve the problem.

Right on brother!  Fuck cheap prices!  I want to protect other Americans jobs from competition!  That's so much bullshit when competition with other companies and countries keeps prices down relative to what they would have been!  Hike prices now!  Where do I sign up for higher consumer prices?

Hahaha.  You are funny, in a pathetic kind of way.

Will you ever aim higher than just makin' money?

Dumb bitches are attracted to money, and they don't care how you make it.  So if you want a dumb bitch to parasite your life, you are set!

But if you want quality people in your personal life, then you need to up your game, 'cos no decent person would want anything to do with you.

But you are so dumb you can't even understand that.  Instead, you fall back onto the ONLY THING YOU HAVE, which is money.

Pathetic.

This is not a "hot stock pick" or "investment idea" website; it is an information/Discussion forum.

...and the more informed you are, the easier it is to make and protect money...

its definitey not an investment idea website, you'd be screwed if you used this information. they call the end of the market right through a massive bull market. why be informed with useless information, thats not the way to protect money.

Finding "useful information" is like working on a pile of puzzle pieces from 20 differnet puzzles.

One piece here, one piece there, pretty soon, hopefully, an image appears.

we need a seasonal adjustment. I have to say that chart looks great...funny wages don't follow "compensatio". Maybe a new loophole opened up for CEO to take their "compensation" off the record

The multinationals and globalist want ever higher profits so they have arbitraged wages.

US wages are at least 4 times higher than other countries like Russia.

Both Globalist and the government have a common cause and that's to drastically lower wages to be competitive globally.
