What continually amazes me is the thought that there might be some genuinely good people in .gov, who think it can be improved upon, that they're doing "good work", the peoples work...lol. They somehow think it can be made less of the all consuming, ravenous monster that it is, that it can be constrained, chained.
Then (as all humans do) they start calculating their future pensions & current benefits...trying to balance in their minds "their work" vs what is being jammed through their assorted departments down onto the people with their signature attached. They then try to rationalize (that is, disassociate themselves from what they do) their own theft.
