Caught On Tape: Uber Driver Mauled By Drunk Passenger
"I have lost so much money on people like him and I'm done dealing with it. They take the food right out of my mouth," exclaims Uber-driver Edward Caban after Benjamin Golden, 32, of Newport Beach repeatedly hit him and pulled his hair, prompting Caban to respond by pepper-spraying the passenger. The distrubing scene, caught on the car's dashboard camera, has led to Golden's arrest (charged with assault) and while Uber has banned him from their service, but as NBC reports, the driver is not satisfied and has quit Uber because he no longer feels safe, "the quality of the passengers has gone down recently."
The anxious driver turns the internal camera around at 2:00, where the passenger can be seen sliding around the back seat and unable to communicate. The driver then decides to end the fare.. and mayhem begins...
"He was grabbing my head and was trying to smash it against the window," Caban told NBC4 in an interview.

Costa Mesa police responded within minutes to the scene of the fight in the 1800 block of Newport Beach Boulevard.
The customer, 32-year-old Benjamin Golden, of Newport Beach, was still vomiting from the Mace when officers arrived, according to police.
Uber said it has banned the rider from ever using the ride-sharing platform again.
Caban said Uber offered to reimburse him for cleaning the pepper spray from his car. Nonetheless, he said his days as an Uber driver are over.
"I don't feel safe driving for Uber any more," Caban said. "The quality of the passengers has gone down over the last couple of weeks and I know a lot of drivers will agree with me."

I guess this is what happens when you appeal to customers whose only concern is the cheapest price. If they're not willing to pay you a living wage, they don't see you as human.
To get a ride on Uber, you need to join, which means that Uber can kick you out - and which they should do in this case.
As a former cab driver I have this to say: welcome to the real world pal. You wanted to be a glorified cab driver and now you see what it's all about. This was only par for the course. Your only mistake was not getting out and throwing an elbow into the back of his head after you maxed him. And please don't bother with the cops. Just dish out the violence and be on your way to another ride

Funniest story I ever heard was hillbilly Dave pulling out a gun on a drunk college student who thought it was ok to get into his cab at a stop light and issue commands. When I was back in college, I had a friend who drove cab to pay for school. He carried a blackjack under the seat....gotta' have something. It's a freakin' dangerous trade to drive around with strangers in your car.
And never pick up hitchhikers, either. I hate to be hard nosed about this or unkind, but the fact is, anyone who cannot get themselves from point A to point B without asking a stranger for a favor is dysfunctional....and potentially dangerous.

A Uber slave has been physically disrupted by disgruntled passenger. I would rather see those who made money of this disrupting enterprise being disrupted themselves since not only Uber but all the so-calling sharing enterprises are just ponzi schemes run by Wall Street until people wake up and put an end to this nonsense disrupting nothing but peoples lives.
