Americans' "Comfort" Plunges Most Since February Despite Surging Stocks
US equities are surging, talking heads are exuberant, and China's fixed - so why are Americans so miserable? Bloomberg's Consumer Comfort index plunged the most since February in the last week, near 2015 lows as it appears The Fed is rapidly realizing "you can fool all the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time." It appears the cohort that 'gave up' the most in the past week was 'black' Americans, whose comfort plunged below 'white' Americans for the first time in over a month.

Americans are uncomfortable.
Went into the 7-11 yesterday....all anyone was talking about was equities.
I got the hell out of there.
Get the fuck outta here. You're joking, right? Never heard a conversation about stocks at a convenience store. Liquor store, yeah, happens all the time. But not at a convenience store. Apoo keeps his stock picks close to the vest.
Only 7-11's, the others are'nt worth trading over, that should clear it up for you.
The market cap weighted indexes are up, but the Russell 2000 is down at the moment. More theater.
dont worry soon the widely MSM discredited death cross will succumb to the very factual "life cross" on the indexes / s
Obama will not finish his second term! Banned independent documentary reveals the truth. This will scare millions! Current Events Linked to Ancient Biblical Prophecy!

You went into a 711? Brave man.
A whole month, it's over for sure then.
More like being stretched on a Spanish Inquisition rack kind of uncomfortable.
Yeah, it gives me a day long headache, how about you?
Obama is not "american" , however he is "comfortable" with a dick up his ass.
I'm afraid of americans, I'm afraid I can't help them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPVrFIP0CMs
This can't be true....Yellen said things were on the upswing.
We discomforted some folks.
We gravityeed some folks.
No raises for Social Security and ObamaScare premiums through the roof.
Why are the peeps so uncomfortable ...?
I'm getting my 3rd raise in the past 8 years this month and it will be about half as much as I need to cover the increase in my health premiums starting in January. So effectively I'm getting a 2% pay cut when I factor in my new health care costs even with the raise. Yippee....
it's just this..
bartenders and waiters were polled after having a bad day at the office
there,i fixed it
affordable care is making people miserable
US "health" care (HC):
19% of GDP and growing at more than TWICE the rate of GDP. (At the current differential rates of HC and GDP since the 1980s to 2000-07, HC will be 33% of GDP by the 2030s and half of GDP by mid-century.)
$10,000 per capita.
$26,000 per household (the median household income is ~$51,000).
$24,000 per working person (the median earned income is $27,000).
100% equivalent of federal gov't spending.
50% equivalent of private and public wages.
TWICE the level of profits after tax.
50-66% of HC is spent on the sickest 5-10%, and 86% is spent on the sickest 25% (largely as a result of unhealthy diet, smoking, alcohol abuse, and no excecise, and aging with the resulting chronic conditions).
3-4% to 13% is spent on the healthiest 50-75%.
6 out of 10 'Merikans are on one or more prescription drugs (that are porhibitively costly, largely ineffective, have no more than a placebo effect, and with myriad side effects).
Read the above again, and perhaps three times, and let the data sink in. Copy and paste it and share it with everyone you know.
If after reading the appalling statistics above, one is not rip-snortin', bug-eyed, dental work-breaking OUTRAGED, then one should check one's pulse and go immediately to the local morgue.
Each time you hear about, or observe, a medical facility being built in your area, grab for your wallet and despair, as it implies that HC costs will rise faster and ensure business, household, and gov't bankruptcies sooner than later.
Get bleeping PI$$ED and tell everyone you know.
Can you see where this is going? Soon GDP calc will be changed such that HC is given much more weight and the inflation rate calc will be changed so that HC is given little to no weight as it is too "volatile".
Result - the US will have a rip roaring GDP with miniscule or negative inflation, while the masses are too poor to pay attention.
It's the "Towels are kinda scratchy!" economy.
wait and see how much the "comfort" index plunges once the toilet paper becomes scratchy also
Me and my rose colored glasses keep hoping Americans will decide "comfort" is a prolific garden, good health and the right company, all of which we can provide for ourselves.
That's crazy talk, Mrs. C. Comfort comes from the accumulation of material posessions.
Like an obsessive accumulation of moar mason jars? (the next real currency)
Madame, you struck a nerve with me there. My wife has probably a hundred or more of them in the basement. I wish I could tell you they are all full of preserved food, but, sadly, most are not as of this writing. I keep threatening a "use it or lose it" day of reckoning with her, but she knows that's an empty threat.
Bravo Mrs. NoDebt. And you know... cases of jars "stack" well too. They don't even need to be located at the bottom of the lake. Just sayin' ;-)
But ya' hafta spread out your purchases at different stores. Since most people outside Mormon country don't do massive canning, the locals will think you're moonshining and then you have a whole host of new problems.
Like an obsessive accumulation of moar mason jars? (the next real currency).
lmao, so true.
My collection of canning jars has EXPLODED over the past year!
3 new lids per jar.
At dinner parties I attend, the basic dinner gift has changed from bringing a bottle of wine to bringing a mason jar of preserves/food.
Of course that could just be the circles I exist in.
Jaimie Dimon no longer invites me to dinner after my tirade one evening.... I blame him. He should have not had the Lagavulin out....
I think empty wine bottles make a better Molotov cocktail.
He's right Ms C, my neighbor thrilled with his house extension which makes up for his teens pill addiction. When his 16 year old gets knocked up he's joining a golf club.
Oh Mrs C, you're asing an awful lot. Gardens require work and you know how Amriccans feen about that. We import people to do the jobs we don't want to do.
Perhaps one day in the not too distant future that "aha" factor will set in.
Don't ask me wtf I was typing up there. Clearly my fingers are drunk.
Moar prescription drugs should help take care of this problem.
The water in the pot is starting to bubble.
People just can't eat a bowl of Bank of America.
It feels uncomfortable to spend $30K of your hard earned money on a new car and the plastic crap inside breaks after a year. Meanwhile the Fed keeps saying inflation isn't high enough so they'll keep the Easy Money flowing to Wall Street to make it go higher.
stay away from American NEW cars unless its a truck or suv. Murican cars are cheap fucking junk for the most.
Americans (99% anyway) are the dummest motherfuckers on the planet
WIthout a doubt.
dummest
If intentional beautifully played
If not -100
For the most part Americans are good people who have been the objects of a sleath terrorist campaign perpetrated by an elitist system and the powers behind the elitist system.
Don't blame the good victims for the crimes of the bad.
What we need is more free shit.
The Frogs just need time to adjust to their increasingly warm "bath".
Uncomfortable? Selling the shop tools to make the rent, borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, the car needs a new front end, and Li'l Debbie's school clothes set us back $400.
Rumblings of layoffs at the water cooler, negroes hunting polar bears downtown, and our new obama plan health coverage is going up..
Who's uncomfortable?
We're M I S E R A B L E. What happened to the old misery index?
Adjusted by the same folks who give us the Inflation rates....
I'm comforted knowing a collapse is coming to wash this ponzi fraud AWAY.
Christmas retail sales will unexpectedly plunge this year.
Rotten at the core
and then it disseminates.
The system's basic premise is not conducive to life.
different kinds of 'uncomfortable". Some folks having money problems due to consumption priorities. Some having more basic issues like making the rent and credit card payments. And some even more dire, having to squeeze the food and already stopped paying the mortgage and are squatting, just waiting for the sheriff to evict.
