A Nation Of Immigrants: Where America's Newest Citizens Come From
As mass migration (otherwise known as refugee crises) remains a topic of concern for much of the world, an increasing number of the world's population is choosing to become American citizens (even as those renouncing American citizenship hits record highs). As MarketWatch notes, nearly 800,000 people decided to become American citizens in the last 12 months and more than a third of them came from Asia...
Asians comprised the biggest group of new Americans by region, according to recent data from the Department of Homeland Security, edging out those from North America, in which DHS includes those from Central America and the Caribbean.
Mexicans remain the single largest group of foreigners who were naturalized as citizens. But by state they are the biggest group in only 24. Among the remaining 26 states plus the District of Columbia, 10 other nationalities claim the top spot, as this map shows.
In nine states, Indians made up the biggest group of naturalized citizens. Those from the Dominican Republic, who nationwide topped those from China for the first time in at least a decade, are the biggest group in five states, the DHS data show.
One of those states is New Jersey. For two years running, Dominicans have made up the biggest group of naturalizations each year, narrowly exceeding the number of Indians.

However, immigrants from those four nations cherished the culture of America and assimilated to that culture and preserved their native culture behind-the-scenes. This strengthened America and preserved that very system that the oppressed in other nations so desire.

That combined with immigration policies that discourage assimilation and encourage immigrants living first and foremost by their native cultures is resulting in a Balkanization of America.

At least MN has other large ethnic populations, such as the Hmong. Outside of Portland, there isn't much diversity in Maine. And even Portland is still 85% white. Many of the Somalis are grouped in Lewiston, which is a small college town.
Vermont has a great educational system, is close to Montreal, and you can have all sorts of guns. What's not to like?

Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against Brazilians (some of whom are kind of cute) - but from our view they were living many families in what was meant as single family, when the market turned sour they were the first to run - abandoning their responsibilities. At one point we had a 'team' of Brazilians replace all the glass in our house with impact glass. When they were half way done I felt a little uncomfortable with how fast they were getting done. I grabbed the local inspector while the walls were still exposed. He had them redo all their work because most of the nails weren't going into studs...

I always have to suppress a grin when I see immigrants take the oath and then once of a sudden they are 'Americans'. I have cousins that moved from the Balkans to America and now they are 'citizens'. They then trash everything about their former country and former countrymen (while in the past were boasting it) and then proclaim to be proud to be an American. More immigrants is fine, fine. But too many of my fellow Asians, Indians and Chinese in particular, have little desire to blend into society. They are happy to stay separate and distinct. This is very bad. When you immigrate to a country, be you a Chinese to USA, a gorawalla (white) Americano to Japan, or anyone else, you whould be willing to integrate and not segregate. However, as well as know, when any minority gets beg enough it starts to act like the majority.
