Economics of being black in America.
Hmm, for starters at least $15k in welfare benefits. If you call the right person and claim any number of non debilitating conditions for SS Disability, you now have an extra cash and don't have to fulfill any welfare to work requirement. In many places you get between $1000 and $2500 a month for housing assistance. You either get free utilities or have them capped at $20 a month. You get $9 a month 25mb internet and basic digital cable along with a $35 a month Obamaphone plan. At the very least you get $200 a month in food stamps and the best part is you don't have to work a single hour every day. Plus if you get sick you don't have to pay for health care or pay any taxes. If you have a kid, you will most likely get subsidized tuition. Won't have to pay for food at school, and get free textbooks. Easily adding up to thousands of dollars a year.
At the bare minimum being black in America nets you close to $45k in direct payments and other benefits. If you add in the basic single health insurance premium most working people have to pay, you are close to $60k a year.
SO THE ECONOMICS OF BEING BLACK IN AMERICA IS AT A BARE MINIMUM A $60k A YEAR EXISTENCE WITHOUT HAVING TO DO ANYTHING FOR IT!!!!!!

I have heard that argument before and have tested it and found it doesn't work for me.
A few years ago (three, to be exact), I was at a party, met a gay guy, and honestly, we hit it off pretty well. The guy was a quick wit and we were telling jokes and stories and having a good time. He repeatedly tried to come on to my physically, and I continually rebuffed him, telling him that while I liked him as a person, that was the end of it.
He and I drank until dawn and he got nowhere with me. I've seen him since and there's still no spark of any kind, though I still enjoy his wit and humor. So, no, I am not into guys.
Being around homos generally doesn't bother me. Having to accept their lifestyle does. Hope that clears that up for you.

Yeah, I'm wondering too. First, there's my family member (died in 09) who lived (as a kid) through the Great Depression. His family (7) lived in a friend's garage, then wound up having to live in a tent. His recollections included that having an orange to eat was a big treat. This family member never got to go to college (he left home at 14 to find work) but he did work his ass off and did well. Any compensation avaialble for those tent-dwelling years? Or for having to leave home and live as adult at 14? Or how about my uncle (on the other side) who did odd jobs, like selling rope out of the back of his truck? They were poor but didn't know it. He often went fishing and crabbing to put food on the table. They always managed to make it though. He enjoyed his life. Any compensation for him for never having any of the finer things in life?
I also wonder when I have experience like this: searching for a nice, safe apartment to rent, and being told that I'm not eligible for this particular place because I make more than $32k. Then being pointed to a nearby apt. building in disrepair, which I'm told I'm eligible to live in (at a higher rate). So I can live in a worse location, for more money, while paying for others to live better than me.
People have opted for the decadent: for becoming a faux victim in order to claim the cost-free mantle of faux hero and fraudulently (from a moral perspective) obtained goods.

That a group of activists would want to deliberate privately is normal. I didn't see anything about barring anyone from campus. I did see a maniac raving about wanting to kill people. Given the U.S. as it really is (ask the native people, look at the epidemic of wars, of gun violence and police killings) I take somebody like that at his word.
