French President Declares State Of Emergency, Enforces Curfew, Closes Borders, Reinforces Army
In the wake of the stunning wave of bombings, shootouts, and hostage situations unfolding in Paris on Friday, French President Francois Hollande has closed the French border.
Addressing the nation, President Francois Hollande called on everyone to remain strong and show “compassion and unity.”
“There is much to fear, but we must face these fears as a nation that knows how to muster its forces and will confront the terrorists,” the president said.
He has also declared a state of emergency and called for more army assistance.

A series of bombs echoed through the streets followed by sporadic gunfire. What unfolded afterwards turned the streets into a veritable war zone with dozens killed thus far and a hostage situation involving some 100 people.
The move to close the border will likely serve as a rallying cry for those who oppose the accommodation of the millions of refugees seeking asylum in Europe.
The President ended his speech with "Vive la Republique et Vive la France."

Over a decade ago now France had rioting in the muslim no go areas and in reality this was an annexation of part of the French nation. So I am not surprised at this 2nd instance of this kind of thing in France ... you do remember the cartoon one don't you?
Closing the borders does absolutely nothing to deal with those now established in these annexed areas and if you want them out you need to put the army into these no go zones and impose martial law making those areas once more conform to French law.

Last night as I was watching FNC, Shep Smith came on with alert after alert then they received the 'horrifying' pictures of the dead bodies outside the coffee shop to which Shep proclaimed 'if you have children make sure you turn them away from the next image we are about to show you'. I thought to myself, no that's the problem. Noone wants their children to see the truth of what's happening in this world. People would prefer to allow their kids down in their basement playing x-box until things get better. They don't want their children to fear, to have nightmares, to see the world their parents have created through denial after denial of the truth. Unfortunately, we now live in a world where we can't keep them away from understanding and knowing that there is evil, extremist ideologies, war. I say go find your kids, bring them to the tv and force them to watch these images so they understand what is happening. After all, it will be their generation who will have to contend with the failures of our generation.

I'm surprised they haven't used this crisis as justification to cordon off the Paris Muslim sections and conduct police/military sweeps. They'd likely find a good deal of illegal weapons and explosives, round up suspects, and gather a good deal of intel. They'd also have the cover needed to deal harshly with resistance. "Never let a crisis go to waste." I guess that's presuming they don't want a hostile and divided multicultural France though.
To my knowledge there were no photos or videos taken inside the theatre while the attacks were taking place. Or, at least, they haven't quite made it to the BBC News home page yet.
In an age when practically every young person has a smart phone with a high-res camera this is quite strange. It didn't occur to a single youngster in that sold-out 1500-seat theatre to capture what was going on?
I think they may have been too busy running for their lives. There is video fo the exit of the theater where people were running out and screeming while jumping over dead bodies. Is that enough evidence for you? It's on RT I believe.
The shooting in the theatre was going on for 15 minutes. I don't think it takes 15 minutes to kill 80 people with Kalashnikovs but that's another story.
You don't think it occurred to even one person among the other 1420 people in that theatre to take his phone out during those 15 minutes and record what was going on? A short video clip doesn't require you to use flash, so no danger of being spotted among 1420 people.
