I like the fact that college students are angry enough to revolt against the massive debt being piled on their backs just because they want to get a college degree and a good job. They should be protesting because the expenses involved have gotten ridiculous. Then, if they do graduate, a great many of them can’t find employment. Too many are forced to remain living with their parents without a chance at the American Dream, which has now become just that—a dream.
Unfortunately, too many of these young people are also upset about ridiculous things. They are part of a hypersensitive, hyper-politically correct group known as ‘Social Justice Warriors.’
A few years ago when I first heard the term 'Social Justice Warrior,’ I wasn’t sure what it meant. I thought SJWs were doing some kind of noble, laudable work. I pictured them as volunteers at food banks. Maybe they were trying to help senior citizens get the prescription medicine they couldn’t afford. I pictured them trying to help the downtrodden in society. Instead, SJWs epitomize political correctness gone amuck. They are 'special snowflakes' who are also incredibly thin-skinned. They browbeat and scold others into giving up freedom of speech or expression. Want to wear a Halloween costume? You’d better check with the campus commissar of political correctness first. (Yes, the protesters want some sort of official on campus who will determine what can and cannot be said or done). Don’t want to date a tranny? What a hateful person you are!
Now we hear terms such as ‘micro-agression’ which can mean a tone of voice or expression that might cause slight discomfort to the recipient. Micro-transgressors are vilified, shamed and screamed at. Slights don’t even have to be real—they only need be imagined. Political correctness has now become a form of mass insanity. Do you still say ‘Merry Christmas?’ Watch out! Did you accidentally call a man from China a ‘Chinaman?’ OMG—look out for the pearl clutchers—you’re a horrible human being who needs to be shunned! It doesnt’ matter if the man from China was offended or not. He probably wasn’t. After all, he’s a man and he came from China.
What matters is YOU said the WRONG thing. During the Spanish Inquisition, people who said wrong things were labeled ‘heretics.’ A heretic was seen as someone who was contaminated with erroneous thinking. A heretic was going to go Hell. A heretic could be tortured because such a person had lost a connection with the omniscient church. Now that word is ‘racist.’ A racist can be scolded, driven out of jobs or forced to make a blubbering apology because they are no longer seen as connected with humanity. It doesn’t matter if the person is actually racist or not…all that needs to happen is for a SJW to perceive or imagine such a heinous transgression. It’s not only insanity, it can be amusing at times. The liberal scolds are now themselves being scolded by the generation they mollycoddled.
Please, SJWs, if you really want to do something useful, hold a mass protest calling for the end of the Federal Reserve. You’d be doing all races a favor. It’s also time to END the tyranny of ‘political correctness.'

There is a giant difference between discipline and abuse. There have been multiple studies on the long-term effects of corporal punishment, and the results are consistent and quite clear: Spanking, beating, or any other form of physical abuse of children does serious long-term damage. This is NOT to condone a lack of discipline, far from it, there are many forms of corrective behavior modification that includes time-outs, taking away of priviledges, and the legendary "long talk" that can all serve to modify the behavior of children, all without resorting to physical abuse.

EE I am calling bullshit. There are plenty of things that a kid can do / will do that are worthy of a spanking. When dished out periodically by a parent for this infractions, this is not physical abuse. Some kids won't need that level of correction, but some sure as hell do. I was one of them.
If I stepped outta line, I got the belt from my 6' 5" athletic father who didn't hesitate to threaten me -- and I got the real thing a few times. I was kinda wild and it was good to keep me in line. I turned out fine. Have been fully employed since I was 16 years old, have a wonderful family with my one and only soul mate wife of 15+ years with 3 beautiful children. I have done two start-ups, worked for several major corporations and have designed and written software in about 25+ languages and am a competent musician.
When the boomers grew up corporal punishment was the norm. Many teachers were known to slap the crap out of kids and nothing got said. I got knocked on my ass from behind once by the principal because his brain was dead and he mistakenly thought I said a swear word. Anyway many boomers weren't much into the slapping and wacking thing so when their kids came along they listened to the experts. It was the experts and the educaters who came up with the self esteem is everything crap. No hitting the kids, don't tell them no, no matter how bad they did something find something to praise like killing grandma with a knife you praise him for cleaning up the blood, no grades as bad ones hurt their self esteem, everyone gets a trophy, time outs instead knocking them out, making them do dishes or mow the lawn was considered child abuse, always be there for them and when bad things happen like one of your classmates died you comfort them and the school brings in counselors whereas when the boomers were that age we were told he died deal with it and let's get on with the next lesson, if it was your ball you had to share it with others even if they wouldn't let you in the game and if you didn't share you were a bad person, etc etc etc, and the one I like best give them all the spending money they require and don't ever let them get a job because if they made some decent cash they wouldn't attend college. It was the out of touch superiority complex emotionally fragile intellectuals, especially those in the education industry, who came up with this crap and we see the results. You can now see their over riding agenda was to control and indoctrinate your kids by making them start school as young as 3 and make them go longer days and school year. Teaching them complete bullshit while creating an empire that employs more teachers with increasing numbers of expensive administrators playing god and their bloated staffs with industries, like testing outfits, and consultants springing up to feed at the trough. The upshot is at high school graduation the kids have damn little marketable skills but can recite encyclopedias full of trivia. Because they intentionally did a crappy job and employers are too lazy to train for the most mundane jobs the kids have to go on to more school and hope they can aquire skills as even in college they take up more and more of your time teaching even more useless crap instead of stuff to get and keep a job so they can keep you in their clutches and dependent on them even longer. Thus the education experts have sold us a bill of goods, and a crappy system, but far too many suckers refuse to wake up and ignorantly believe more money is the cure all and our kids are paying the price in their physical and mental health. Going to college to get a good job is one of the biggest hoaxes foisted upon us. For the one third of the students who are smart enough college is for them. For the rest it is a total waste of time and money as they are not college material but the education industry does not care. If you can fog a mirror you're accepted as it brings more cash into the coffers and they can justify raising the tuition to the moon because of demand. Most of those are the ones living in their parents basement loaded down with debt hoping for a desk job because they went to college. The reality is they are only fit for blue collar work and there are plenty of those jobs out there. I've checked. But the programming runs deep and they are in denial of their situation. Thus spoiled entitled lazy whiners with big egos and self esteem built upon an emotionally fragile foundation..
The reality of higher education is less than 1/3 of the population will require an advanced education. As time goes on that number will get even smaller. But your education industry and it's just as ignorant supporters want eveyone to be in their clutches from a few years after birth till death. As if we are all too stupid to learn anything on our own and the internet does not exist.
Less that 25% is probably college material. The top 10% should probably skip the last 2 years of HS and go straight to college. 50% shoudl probably stop after 8th grade.

The methods of correction you suggest are insufficient in correcting bad behavior, they're all indicative of the type of corrective action that's resulted in the children in the cartoon above. Time outs, removed priviledges and 'long talks' are non-consequence feel good solutions.

A bank would never give a loan out to frivolious schools. But since the debt can't be forgiven, they too take part in the crime.

A black guy from Texas and I lay in a ditch for a couple of hours and I was fuked - he was not. We had known each other a few months. It all ended and I made it home.
