The False Flag Link: Syrian Passport "Found" Next To Suicide Bomber Was "Definitely A Forgery"

Tyler Durden's picture

Yesterday, when we explained just how the tragic events in France over the past 48 hours unfolded precisely as we predicted they would two months ago (ironically, as per our post from September 11, 2015) we commented on the oddly fortuitous discovery of an intact Syrian passport found next to the body of one of the suicide bombers, a passport which Greece chimed in as belonging to a Syrian refugee who had entered the country at Leros on October 3, 2015 from where he subsequently travelled all the way to Paris.

Specifically, we said that "we admit to not being experts on the nuances, or even basics, of "suicide bombing for terrorists 101", but is bringing your own passport to an event that will be your last, really that crucial, especially when the passport is such a critical smoking gun?"

The following cartoon best captures the idiocy of anyone actually believing a suicide bomber would have brought their actual passport to what they knew would be their last act on earth.

Shortly thereafter, it was Serbia's turn to join the story of the rogue "Syrian refugee", when the Serbian newspaper Blic published the picture of the alleged Syrian passport belonging to a 25-year-old man named Ahmed Almohamed, and said he had crossed into the country on 7 October, having arrived four days earlier in Leros, Greece, seeking Serbian refugee status.

Then a Greek newspaper, Protothema, said he was travelling with a second man, Mohammed Almuhamed, and published pictures purporting to show their travel documents. The Guardian proposed the following map to track Ahma's progress across Europe:

And then a few hours ago, the story took an even more surreal twist when we learned that, according to both French and US sources, the passport was "definitely a forgery."

Some more details courtesy of IBTimes:

The Syrian passport recovered from near one of the Paris attackers may be fake, a US intelligence official told CBS news. The document did not contain the correct numbers for a legitimate Syrian passport and the picture did not match the name, said the official.

The passport found near the body of one of the eight attackers who struck on Friday, 13 November, was used to enter the European Union through Greece in October. The Serbian interior ministry said that the passport was used to enter that country on 7 October, by a man claiming refugee status.

So how to make sense from a story that has drifted from the merely laughable, to the bizarre, to the outright surreal? Guardian's Patrick Kingsley attempts an explanation:

There are several reasons why it’s worth waiting until all the facts are known before making too strong a link between the attacks and the refugee crisis. The first is a general one: on at least 12 occasions, Isis has actually criticised refugees for fleeing to Europe. “For those who want to blame the attacks on Paris on refugees, you might want to get your facts straight,” wrote Aaron Zelin, an analyst of jihad, in an online commentary about the 12 outbursts. “The reality is, [Isis] loathes that individuals are fleeing Syria for Europe. It undermines [Isis’s] message that its self-styled caliphate is a refuge.” It’s therefore unlikely that the vast majority of Syrians fleeing to Europe are Isis supporters, since their actions are in obvious contravention of the group’s creed.

The second reason for caution is more specific. Investigators still need to verify the Syrian passport was carried by an attacker rather than a dead bystander (one Egyptian passport-holder initially believed to be an assailant turned out to be an injured victim). They will then need to be certain that the passport’s carrier was the same as the passport’s legitimate owner.

It’s possible that it was stolen. Since the possession of a Syrian passport makes it easier to claim asylum in Europe, there is a busy trade in stolen Syrian documents. Syrians interviewed on Greece’s border with Macedonia have described how they were mugged for their passports after leaving the Greek islands as they tried to make their way north through the Balkans. Such passports can be sold on for as much as several thousand euros, in a trade that the EU’s border agency acknowledges is a growing problem. Forgeries are also common; a Dutch journalist recently had one made in the name of his prime minister.

A third red flag is the fact that the passport concerned was found in the first place. Analysts find it strange that a bomber would remember to bring his passport on a mission, particularly one who does not intend to return alive. “Why would a jihadist who expressly rejects all notions of modern citizenship take his passport on a suicide mission?” tweeted Charlie Winter, an analyst focusing on Islamist extremism. “So it gets found.”

One theory is that Isis hopes to turn Europe against Syrian refugees. This would reinforce the idea of unresolvable divisions between east and west, and Christians and Muslims, and so persuade Syrians that Islamic State’s self-proclaimed caliphate is their best hope of protection. “You know what pissed off Islamist extremists the most about Europe?” summarised Iyad El-Baghdadi, an activist and jihadi-watcher, on Twitter. “It was watching their very humane, moral response to the refugee crisis.”

His conclusion:

"Whether the passport was planted, stolen, forged or genuine, investigators should find out the truth soon enough. But regardless of what they discover, a wider debate has now begun about the wisdom of letting so many unknown migrants enter Europe through its southern borders, and being allowed to move onwards through the continent with few restrictions. Already, there are calls to step up the policing of Greece’s maritime border with Turkey, and to block the passage of refugees entirely."

What is becoming clear is that either the passport was planted, or is a fake, or both. But while we agree with the Guardian that this shift in narrative will have an impact against the future flow of refugees into Europe, an even more acute consequence will from the "Syrian" angle will be to "incept" the idea that the entire Paris massacre was the result of events in Syria (and hence, al Assad is directly and indirectly responsible) thus generating goodwill toward a military operation that include a French ground force. In fact, the wheels are already in motion:

France may send its "expeditionary force" to Syria in order to retaliate against ISIL, according to the US-based intelligence firm Stratfor; the group has claimed responsibility for Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris, which claimed at least 129 lives.

Analysts from the private intelligence company Stratfor believe that France may send its "expeditionary force" to Syria or Iraq in response to the deadly Paris attacks that rocked the French capital on Friday night. They claimed that France has a whole array of options for retaliation "at its disposal", but that the country's response will depend on "who was ultimately responsible" for the Friday attacks.

"If it is found that the Islamic State core group was indeed behind the November 13 attack, France will likely ramp up its Syrian air operations," Stratfor said.

In light of this, Stratfor analysts predicted that France may increase its programs to train and support anti-Islamic State forces in Iraq and Syria, or even to carry out "commando strikes against key leadership nodes."

"France also has the option of deploying an expeditionary force like it did in the Sahel [region of Africa], although that would probably require outside airlift capacity from NATO allies, especially the United States," Stratfor pointed out.

And the latest surprise, is that moments ago it was Greece again which claimed that despite allegations to the contrary, the passport was, in fact, real. How it "concluded" this remains a mystery...

... and once again shows that there is a deep political motive on virtually every side to use this human tragedy as a "false flag" event to achieve specific, geopolitical goals.

I wonder how long it takes and how much its costs to "rent" some suicide bombers, and plan, coordinate and execute an operation of this magnitude.  And, of course, carrying all of this out, going undetected by any and all security and surveillance operations, that are in force 24/7, on a worldwide basis.  If a bunch of poor and dumb bastards can pull this off, then all security is a joke.  But then, if some of the people in charge of security set the deal up, not with stealth, but by subverting and circumventing controls, then this could be a planned event executed to achieve a purpose, which has not yet been clearly identified.

This wasn't a 'false flag' event. To the radicalized bag men and their victims, this was obviously the real thing. But the authenticity of the events themselves does nothing to explain the motives of those who conceal themselves behind an abstraction layer of organization, logistics, and execution. This episode had loads. Of course, to those shitting their pants in the comment section and fretting about the sanity(!) of ZH's readership face value provides all we need to know. Nothing else to see here, folks. How convenient. That these suicidal, usefully idiotic crazies represent a subcontractor class that can be employed to further other(not necessarily unrelated) strategic objectives, is just too much for our whiners to consider.

Again, and this time slowly: What ENTITY, quite alien to both, stands to lose nothing, and ultimately, to gain the most, from an all out confrontation between Islam and the West? Hell, given their proximity to the adverse demographics, they're almost depending on an external row for their survival. Someone's whistling past the literal graveyard here, not out of fear, but satisfaction. WHO, in their mind only, benefits from this violence? Islam simply doesn't have a monopoly on ME radicalism.

"and hence, al Assad is directly and indirectly responsible"

Clearly western intelligence will push this agenda, and seek to find facts to fit the notion that Assad's government is causing instability. When in fact the USA has been recruiting Jihadists since before 2006 to fight the Assad Government. With full scale war coming after years of American preparation in Libya, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq.

Many migrants carry Syrian passports because Merkel vowed to take them all! In Turkey a fake Syrian passport is cheap and easy to buy. In fact, less than 25% of migrants come from Syria. In the French Channel Port of Calais, where the large Jungle Migrant camp sits filling with 100 new members a day, the break down of Migrants is something like this : Of the total, they come from over 20 different nations!  Central Africa all the way to Nepal!  Syrians are a minority. Most, maybe 85%, are young single Islamic Males!

Passport Shmassport

ISIS was invented by the CIA to blame for their operations against allies, neutrals and, if needs be, against themselves.  To frighten populations and and justify non false flag retaliation.

If you don't believe that the CIA is capable of installing their operatives into high positions in ISIS, you haven't been paying attention.

While ISIS was not involved in 911, some of the same CIA blunders appear in the Friday the 13th attack in Paris.

Here's a conspircy theory of my own! The passpaort was done courtesy of the CIA/FBI/NSA/DoT/ Dept. of Health and Human Sservices. Rothschild directed all operations, especially this one, from a hotel room close to the first attacks. This was discussed at the last Bildeberg gathering. All attendants were informed about this attack and subsequent others to come. The director of the CIA was told by Rothschild that ISIS should be made up of all former intelligence operatives, perferably from Miami and Los Angeles, since many are Hispanic and have Arabic looking features, and they are to be paid top dollar. Also Dick Cheny, since he had remote controlled the 9/11 attacks, can give technical assistance on any troubles that come. And if this flase flag operation not go off too well, to begin true flag, black flag or purple flag operations as a back up. And remember no leaks, so InfoWars can't get that information, because they would be on to us. So in my humble opinion, it nothing more than a Rothschild/Bilderberg/CIA/Moussad/Zionist/Illuminati/Men in Black/Rotary Club/ Freemason/Knights of Columbus/ Elks Club and Boys Scouts connection. Don't be fooled by other imitations.

Apparently you've discovered the right tact. I've been trying to make a similar point and have been getting hammered in down votes. There's no effective difference between an actual false flag and setting up the conditions for a similar genuine attack. If anything the genuine attack offers more cover, albeit at the cost of precise timing, and this timing does suck for the powers that be.

And these recent false flags have the benefit of being perpetrated, not by one's own men disguised, but by actual smelly, bearded goons from a different world.

This requires the beneficiary of their actions to communicate encrypted instructions to their leaders in Raqqa thousands of miles away.

It would seem that the Paris attack was formulated several weeks ago to allow time for everyone to get in position.

Unless ISIS has always had cells in all the European capitals waiting to be triggered.

But that doesn't mean ISIS is NOT taking orders from a foreign government far away and across the sea.

Why wouldn't they carry passports, if an hour or day earlier they were unarmed and moving around the city getting prepared... even if they are unsure of surviving, they would keep them just in case they escaped...

Will the gov't. find out who they really were? Will they tell us, or will they create a narrative to fit what the Gov't. wants to do next?

Let's stop attacking Syria and support Assad, and stop the refugee crisis there.

#1 Terrorists don't care about the future. They go to kill and then die, its called martyrdom. This is something we don't understand.

#2 Terrorists want to be accredited with their works so leaving a passport is perfectly legit and even desirable.

#3 " This is for Syria." Words spoken by one of the terrorists.

#4 A passport is a good document to carry when you may have to explain your presence in a foreign country. Given the number of illegals coming into the EU a Syrian passport would be more a very plausible explaination than having to explain no passport or valid ID document.

Media still hasnt caught onto the problem.  All they talk about is ISIS and maybe radical islamists.  ISIS/homicidal muslims are obviously a problem.  Radical islamists are not so clear.  They need to define this more clearly.  My definition is more broad then what they are repeating.  Radical for them is violent islamists.  Radical for me is the typical sharia/non-integrating muslims.  Until they accept that reality, this problem will continue to escalate before the masses take it on themselves.  THat will get real ugly.  I

This passport was actually issued to the killer by The Republic of Rorshach, obviously, thus it follows why it's easy to project whatever identity and motive you wish to upon the owner of the documents.

They have lost control of this one. It seems that now they will just try to muddy the water as much as possible, and hope you forget the cries of "this is for Syria" and the now familiar jihadi war cry.

Only two 'real' possibilities. The passport could have been faked long before and the terrorist used it to actually move into Europe - or the passport is real and belonged to the bomber.

There is a lot of verbal coverup going on to shield 'Islamic' from this - but how can Hollande declare war on ISIS if no one identifies the Islamic terrorists were involved?

The airliner referred to was likely headed to the Capital building in Washington.

And when the attack occurred, Bush was reading to some kindergarten somewhere and his reaction was like a deer in the headlights, he did not know what to do, so he continued reading, instead of taking immediate action to appear like a genuine leader, something one might have expected to have been prepared were his government behind the attack.

The claim that the US was behind 911 requires the belief that Bush/Cheney organised a complex and sophisticated attack to achieve certain ends but managed to get badly wrong a number of easily controllable, visible aspects, i.e. it assumes they were simutaneously very smart and very stupid.

Are you sure?

In the 130 years of steel skyscraper construction not one ever collapsed due to fire. Not one before 911. Some big ones have burned so all that was left was steel girders. Didn't collapse because a building fire isn't hot enough to melt or anneal steel. That's called physics.

How do you know the Pennsylvania airliner was headed to the capital in DC? You don't know that.

They also told us a passenger said "Let's Roll" on a cell phone but in 2001 it was impossible to make a cell phone call from an airliner.

Seriously deluded.

First, France has no capacity to conduct an invasion of Syria and now Russia is there supporting France is certainly not going to risk a war with Russia by striking Russian military working with Assad.

Second, this attack, after other muslim attacks in France, has made Hollande and his government look hopelessly incompetent in protecting France.  It has dramatically increased the chance of Marine Le Pen being the next president.  If you want to claim LePen was behind this as a "false flag" that might be credible, but not if your are claiming the current French government was behind it.

Third, it has dramatically repudiated the EU/Merkel/Hollande policy of welcoming hordes of muslim immigrants to Europe.  In so doing it fill force a reversal of that policy (see Poland has immediately said "we won't take any of them") and encourage the public to support nationalist parties.  So it is contrary to the policies of the Hollande government, Merkel, and the EU.

And normally when it is a false flag attack the alleged perpetrator does not immediately claim responsibility, as ISIS has done for Paris.

Surprisingly not every attack is a false flag, some are exactly what they seem, as is the case here.

interesting

not every attack is a false flag, some are exactly what they seem.

So in your perception there is no possibility that the CIA placed, what may be -- and what both of us can't be sure of --  a sophisticated bomb in Airbus A321.

A month before that bomb, the Russians had begun a severe air war against ISIS, who retaliated by bringing down the the Russian plane.

But Washington and our MSM have consistently accused the Russians of bombing the Western supported rebels. So how severe was the Russian campaign against ISIS, if the moderate rebels were getting all the action?

And the US, the Dutch, and the Danes and others had been bombing the ISIS for a year (no doubt bombing where the US told them to) and none of them, after a year of supposed bombing, had a plane blown up in mid air.  With an instantaneous video purporting to show the explosion and taking credit for the crime.

But Russia is there for a only month, bombing the rebels, and their plane bombed is no false flag.

Then what does the West do?  Like a cuckolded and impotent husband, America straps on a dildo and starts to bomb ISIS like it pretended it was doing for a year.  It kills vice-presidents and chief financial officers of by the scores and the NYT and WaPo start dancing on the tops of vans like rabbis at Purim.

And no one asks the Pentagon what they were doing for a year.

With the Americans quintupling their efforts against ISIS and the Russians bombing the rebels, ISIS brings down a Russian plane.

Not a drop of false flag in that.

And then the false flag in Paris Friday night.  The target, it seems, was a Jewish owned music venue, Bataclan music hall.

Terrorists from ISIS are in Paris with suicide belts and Kalashnikovs  and who knows what else, with the possibility of doing to Paris what Hitler dreamed of but his general denied him, so what does ISIS do?

They don't go to the Champs Elysees or the Arc de Triomphe.  They don't go the Louvre and Venus de Milo and The Winged Victory Of Samothrace.  (they did in Palmyra)

No, the non-false flagers of ISIS go into a working class neighborhood and attack a rock and roll show and a Cambodian restaurant. What a blow to France.

And the Jewish owned music hall?   ISIS has been side by side with Israel since they were invented in 2013. Isn't the news is full of stories how ISIS attacks Israel in the middle east? /sarc

All of you knocking the idea of a false flag, good luck the rest of your lives.

I"m no expert in this field either, but it seems to me that if this was a "false flag" the pass port would have been legit.

Also, not hard to see how a sick criminal type might come to have a fake passport. . .

Also, really not all that hard to see why one of these sickos might want to be identified after death -- to get the credit they believe they deserve.

Sorry, sounds much more like "sicko came into country with a false passport to do harm, and wanted to the world to know he succeeded" than "CIA planted a crappy forgery on a patsy".

Because the false flag is not the passport. It's the massacre itself.

False flag ops are designed to manipulate public opinion towards some predetermined end.

That's exactly what's happening. The passport is merely some circumstantial artifact, a prop if you will.

It can be set aside if the audience isn't buying it. The strategy of tension however is clearly still in play... alongside a reversal of boots on ground in Syria.

Remeber NATO needs Syria. It's losing it to China, Russia, Iran. It can't get it back from the air. And politically the population won't stand for yet another ground offensive unless something major happened such as............!

All military operations, whether regular or irregular, whether overt or covert, whether acknowledged or false flag, are intended to create political change.

You can eventually know the authors by the effects of their work.

The problem in this case is that the effects are not yet clear.

If they result in France's expulsion of Assad while ostensibly enroute to ISIS then maybe the EU or France itself is the actor, or maybe the US.

If these actions result in the closing of borders across Europe...while the EU's other pillars, the Euro, and the unelected EU bureaucracy are on the ropes then these would be the actions of those who oppose the EU....perhaps ISIS,  or perhaps Russia, with whom Europe is struggling for energy alternatives.

Or maybe, this character intentionally brought a poorly forged passport to his suicide to send the message, "This is for what the West has done to Syria."

That's not how I remember real news looking nor is it how things look in real life. It could be the plastic-faced woman they aired who was asking loaded questions and suggesting political actions (i.e. "the people cannot accept this; we must go to war!") contributing to that. Either way it's creepy stuff. At best it's just creepy plastic faced people asking loaded questions and spewing political idology. At worst, it's worse.

Citation: "Definitely a forgery"

Currently German medias (e. g. Welt-Online) headline: "Verteidigungministerin Ursula von der Leyen vermutet, der gefundene syrische Pass gefälscht ist"

...which means translated: "(German-) Defense minister Ursula von der Leyen assumes, that the found Syrian passport is forged".

The difference is the word "assumes" which means that the highest authorities in Europa are obviously not capable to identify those Syrien passports - made by professional producers in Turkey - are originals or forgeries. Remember: Hundred thousends of this papers are in circulation because they are - after public given garanties of "mother Angela (Angela Merkel) - entrance tickets into the German social system. Boxes with ten thousends of those forged papers were found on it's way to Germany) - the smuggle-mafia business has risen to the most lucrative commercial model ever in that regions. And it's obviously that turkish and greek govenment authorities are involved.

Nevertheless our German canceller Angela Merkel intents to transfer billions of Europe to Ankara with the imagination to prevent a business co-produced by facilitators and government-agencies.

Here is a summary:

The West, including France, have been mass bombing Regions of the Middle East for 14 years now. The estimated number of civilian casualties and maimed are in the MILLIONS, with widespread Displacements of people from their homelands.

Then, Europe opens its doors and tells the people we have been bombing for 14 years to...."come on in" we got free stuff for y'all.

Is it at all surprising what happened in Paris given the conduct of the West over the last 14 years, and the obvious purposes for opening the doors to the very people who have been destroyed by our policies?

It becomes obvious that this was another orchestrated event. How did they pull this off? Well, all they had to do was manipulate the EU leadership to take in these "migrants" and start another campaign simultaneously regarding racist Europeans to shut them up. If you recall, Merkel actually stated one day that the borders might need to be tightened up. Shortly after her comments, VW was exposed for technical issues.

So, who benefits? There is only ONE group that has this much power, where they can force leaders in EU to open doors to the "enemy". And that is the Zionists. The last 14 years has been a mass clearing out of human populations for the purpose of Zionism's ultimate goal: The Greater Israel. But their dilemma....What to do with the people that they cannot get the West to kill off? Barbara Lerner Spectre has been telling Europe they need to be more multicultural and that "the Jews have a leading role" in this. You can see the video on Youtube. She is a Zionist in the first degree, believing Israel is exempt from bringing in refugees. Israel is to remain "pure" for the Chosen people.

Would any sane leader allow the "victims" of their bombing campaigns access to their nation and people? Only idiots or highly blackmailed leaders would do that.

"In the USA, a frame-up (frameup) or setup is the act of framing someone, that is, providing false evidence or false testimony in order to falsely prove someone guilty of a crime.[1]

Sometimes, the person who is framing someone else is the actual perpetrator of the crime. In other cases it is an attempt by law enforcement to get around due process. Motives include getting rid of political dissidents or "correcting" what they see as the court's mistake. Some lawbreakers will try to claim they were framed as a defense strategy."

Hopefully my passport would satisfy the officer's curiosity and let me continue on my way without him searching the trunk of my car or frisking me and finding my suicide vest.

Also, I don't understand how a fake passport proves a "false flag" attack. The terrorist wanted to be untraceable, or he didn't have proper documentation of his own, so he bought a fake passport that was good enough to pass a cursory inspection.
