I'm not a particularly religious guy, but I have read the classics, including the Bible. What we'er seeing unfold is eerie in the sense of Revalations.
I could never fathom what in the modern world would condone mass beheadings of christians. Nor could I foresee what the mark of the beast would be. But I can clearly see the correllations now.

The Revelation of Jesus as described by the Apostle John was initially directed to Christians living in the first century, most of which had come out of a background well acquainted with Jewish history, teachings and practices, even if they themselves weren’t "Jewish". As such, quite a bit of the imagery used was intended to convey a seven-fold warning of the impending destruction of Jerusalem and desolation of the Herodian Temple structure on the temple mount which the Roman Titus achieved when between 800K and +1M Jews were ultimately killed in the culmination of his nearly 3 year long siege in 70AD. Josephus, the historian, (and by some the traitorous), general Jew gives a rather illustrious account of these days.
Many believe John’s account was written in 90-96AD, well after the destruction of the temple but the silence of this indisputable and well known fact in the writing is deafening. Its purpose therefore in warning Christians to flee the impending doom of Jerusalem was evidently heeded in that Christianity did indeed survive, (and to this day), the annihilation of all Jewish genealogical records when Rome retook the city, fulfilling the scriptures attributed to Moses, the Prophets, (including Daniel), and the Wisdom literature, (Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs / Solomon), which the Jewish leaders of the day had perverted into legal fictions.
Those that would claim to be Jews today have to claim their heritage to the physical bloodline by faith as no records exist today, except those found in the writings of Matthew and Luke in the canon of the Christian scriptures tracing the ancestral history of Jesus. Even a cursory look at Jewish history in Ezra and Nehemiah, not to mention Moses’ books show how important this tracing is to establish “rightful authority”.
Proselytizing to the faith was possible when someone with "rightful authority" was able to do the proselytizing, but it’s impossible in Judaism to do so now. We’re all at best nothing more than adopted into whatever faith we ultimately decide on applying to ourselves, if we even choose to do so.
Personally, I find the fact that perhaps the greatest stalwart of the Jewish faith at the time, Saul of Tarsus, became the Apostle Paul and author of 12 of the 27 books of the Christian canon of scripture after becoming convinced, (converted), as to the authenticity of Jesus being the singular absolute fulfillment of the primary writings of the Jewish faith as he was taught by Gamaliel quite amusing.

And about 3.5 million killed in Iraq since 1990 including over 750,000 children. 129 die in Paris and the world is in mourning. What about the 44 who died in Lebanon just the day before Paris?
As long as the West seeks to balkanize the Middle East to steal its oil and other resources, there will always be some blowback. Whether it is a false-flag blowback or true blowback, one cannot be sure.

Reading the PNAC which pre-dated 9/11 by several years, I think the aims were broader than oil alone. They were more along the lines of a new era of american full spectrum domination and the " shock and awe" was intended to intimidate the world at large and facilitate submission.
