Authoritarian Leftist "Activists" Demand The End Of Free Speech, Extensive Re-Education

Hard left authoritarians at Amherst College have issued a series of demands, under the threat of civil disobedience, that include the complete end of free speech on campus as well as extensive re-education for offenders.
The demands, issued in support of the so-called uprising at the University of Missouri, read like a literal fascist manifesto and are conclusive proof that the mainstream media supported protests at multiple colleges over the last few weeks are not about racial equality but rather are about totally and completely shutting down the speech of anyone who disagrees with the opinions of the protesters.
The fact that the group is attempting to get the President of a major university to sign off on re-education classes and punishment for anyone who speaks about free speech or says all lives matter is a startling reminder of the extreme authoritarianism that runs through the veins of the college hard left.
Here are the demands. Take note of the outright fascism.
We, Students of Amherst College, refuse to accept the negative social climate created towards our peers of color and other marginalized groups. We have begun this movement, Amherst Uprising, in an effort to change the status quo for a more just and inclusive environment within our campus. We demand that Amherst become a leader in the fight to promote a better social climate towards individuals who have been systematically oppressed. Student leaders acknowledge and support the demands previously stated and currently being presented. Furthermore, we demand the College acknowledge its ethical and moral responsibilities as an institution and community of our world. Amherst College should not be complicit in oppressive organizations and systems, no less.
We as a compassionate student body have gathered to address the legacy of oppression on campus. If these goals are not initiated within the next 24 to 48 hours, and completed by November 18th, we will organize and respond in a radical manner, through civil disobedience. If there is a continued failure to meet our demands, it will result in an escalation of our response.
1. President Martin must issue a statement of apology to students, alumni and former students, faculty, administration and staff who have been victims of several injustices including but not limited to our institutional legacy of white supremacy, colonialism, anti-black racism, anti-Latinx racism, anti-Native American racism, anti-Native/ indigenous racism, anti-Asian racism, anti-Middle Eastern racism, heterosexism, cis-sexism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, ableism, mental health stigma, and classism. Also include that marginalized communities and their allies should feel safe at Amherst College.
2. We demand Cullen Murphy ‘74, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, to issue a statement of apology to students, alumni and former students, faculty, administration, and staff who have been victims of several injustices including but not limited to our institutional legacy of white supremacy, colonialism, anti-black racism, anti-Latinx racism, anti-Native American racism, anti-Native/ indigenous racism, anti-Asian racism, anti-Middle Eastern racism, heterosexism, cis-sexism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, ableism, mental health stigma, and classism
3. Amherst College Police Department must issue a statement of protection and defense from any form of violence, threats, or retaliation of any kind resulting from this movement.
4. President Martin must issue a statement of apology to faculty, staff and administrators of color as well as their allies, neither of whom were provided a safe space for them to thrive while at Amherst College.
5. President Martin must issue a statement to the Amherst College community at large that states we do not tolerate the actions of student(s) who posted the “All Lives Matter” posters, and the “Free Speech” posters that stated that “in memoriam of the true victim of the Missouri Protests: Free Speech.” Also let the student body know that it was racially insensitive to the students of color on our college campus and beyond who are victim to racial harassment and death threats; alert them that Student Affairs may require them to go through the Disciplinary Process if a formal complaint is filed, and that they will be required to attend extensive training for racial and cultural competency.
6. President Martin must issue a statement of support for the revision of the Honor Code to reflect a zero-tolerance policy for racial insensitivity and hate speech.
7. President Martin must release a statement by Friday, November 13th, 2015 by 5:00pm that condemns the inherent racist nature of the unofficial mascot, the Lord Jeff, and circulate it to the student body, faculty, alumni, and Board of Trustees. This will be followed up by the encouraged removal of all imagery including but not limited to apparel, memorabilia, facilities, etc. for Amherst College and all of its affiliates via a phasing out process within the next year.
8. Dean Epstein must ask faculty to excuse all students from all 5 College classes, work shifts, and assignments from November 12th, 2015 to November 13th, 2015 given their organization of and attendance at the Sit-In.
9. Do not threaten the jobs of the faculty, staff, or administrators that support our list of demands. Such threats will result in an escalation of our response.
10. The Office of Alumni and Parent Programs must send former students an email of current events on campus including a statement that Amherst College does not condone any racist or culturally insensitive reactions to this information.
11. Dean Epstein must encourage faculty to provide a space for students to discuss this week’s events during class time.
Please acknowledge that all of these statements of apology are not the end all – that they are only a part of short-term healing and by no means achieve all of the goals we will set forth. We are in the process of finalizing long-term goals which we hope to collaborate on regularly with all members of the community.
While most of the demands are ludicrous in their own right, demand number five literally calls for punishing students who want all lives to matter and who displayed this horrific flyer on campus.
There you have it. The demands of the “Amherst Uprising” include literally disciplining and then reeducating students for speaking out in support of free speech.
There is simply no middle ground here. You are either an outright fascist who wants to institute a kind of leftist thought police on college campuses or you are fighting against this.
Leftist news outlets such as Salon have spent the last week publishing article after article about how the student protests are not about censorship, claims that we now know to be transparent lies. Any organization or person that gets behind these demands must be exposed. This is not the time to play nice.

You are all missing the point, this is "Public Relations" takingthe next step on it's evolution read the quote above again, this is an experiment by the social engineers, engineers who have control of the 'Mainstream' media as one of their tools, what would be the goal of such an exercise? I'll add something more to the above; You can't believe it, even though it is right in your face, the media would mock and destroy this if they didn't want to flex their muscles and see how much power they really have! They really have a lot of power over the masses!

Higher education is a PRODUCT/SERVICE.
Think about it--if I send my kid to a college, and these SJWs force my kid to spend time and tuition taking one of their useless courses, they have just forced us to buy a product/service we don't want for several thousand dollars. (Even if these courses were made to look like they are free of charge, the cost gets passed on to someone, possibly the taxpayer, but most likely the students. Leftist/progressive professors don't work for free--they are quite greedy as it turns out.)
Even worse, my kid is likely to be getting into debt to pay this wasted tuition--we're gonna sue somebody for the damages if this happens to us.
On top of that, even if my kid doesn't get forced into re-education courses, the fact that the university even has one weakens and devalues the diploma from that university, since employers recognize that instead of spending several hundred hours working on a valuable skill like engineering, the students are spending that time in a useless course like "appreciation of cultural diversity."
Of course, I'm going to do everything in my power to avoid sending any of our family's kids to any university or college with a "diversity" program, where the number or salaries of adminstrators is greater than that of instructors, or where they no longer focus on the basic courses that lead to getting a good job. That includes advising our family young ones to consider going to universities outside the USA, where getting a good job is still the primary goal of a college education.
This series of incidents only goes to prove that unless you work for something, it has no value... I had to work my way through college, taking night classes, working during the day, doing whatever I had to do in order to finish... Nobody gave me the time of day, nor did I ask for any help, no government loan, nothing... If nothing else it teaches you humility, something these poor delicate snowflakes know nothing about...

All the major corporations have required racial/sensitivity training courses that all workers must attend. And these courses must be taken again every year to remain employed.
If this crap takes off at the university level you can bet your bottom dollar this crap will also be required at all major corporations, or any place that has an oppressed minority or LBGT working for it.
Im no fan of big corps, but they don't believe in this kind of dumb shit any more than we do. They care about the bottom line. Someone near the top has decided that making their employees waste their time doing dumb shit like that is cheaper in the long run than getting sued a few times, so they do it. Thats the only reason. Same with hiring a useless eater in the HR dept to teach all of this. CHeaper to pay some dindu to do nothing productive and babble to everyone about racial sensitivity than pay out settlements. This way they can tell the judge "no sir, we aren't racsist, you can clearly see we hired a black person to tell us all about diversity. we care, your honor. Good luck finding a U that doesn't have 'diversity' as a priority. UNC Chapel Hill said "if you take away one thing from this campus visit, remember that we are all about diversity". I've been to many campus visits in the year with my oldest and the most frequently touted trait was 'diversity'. Not academics, not facilities, not student-teacher ratios, not access to profs, not real life training....diversity. Second most lauded feature was 'study abroad', i.e., vacation paid with tuition. This played out over and over at large and small pubilc and private universities in several states.
if its that bad for your oldest, think about how bad it will be once your youngest is going. my youngest is 5 months old. Diversity and racial sensitivity and the like will probably be all thats taught. engineering and maff will be racist...

Think things are bad with this coddled, nanny-care generation? Another few years, and we'll have the DAYCARE generation on our hands! Kids are starting daycare at 3-6 months old, just as maternity leave ends. My friend's kid was coming home with fresh bite marks every week at 1 yr old. Millions of kids fending for themselves with dual working parents the norm. 5 years of daycare batshit craziness. Most of the brain is fully developed by the age of 5 - and formed by the experiences up to that point. Then off to kindergarten, to meet up with the newbie, scared-as-shit kids who stayed at home with at least one parent until 5. Doesn't take much imagination to think about who becomes the alpha kids, and the repercussions on society...a decade or so later.
These friends of mine, ridden with guilt that they subjected their kid to getting bitten for 8 hours a day, couldn't bring themselves to discipline this kid for anything at all. I am a millenial who is disgusted by this bs... My dad gave me a choice when I went to school, either bring home straight A's or quit and get a job. I was smart enough to stay in school. Then worked my fucking ass off to finish school in 4 years while working fulltime (got 3 promotion in the span of those 4 years)... By the time I graduated at 22 I was a asistant VP a major bank and vp at 23... The average age of my colleagues was 40 at that time. A lot of these morons think that just because they are born as a human that they deserve to have everything... The fact of the matter is we are still part of the animal kingdom and the name of the game is survival, those who are a ble to adapt will survive and those who don't won't. Mother Nature is a cruel mistress... And the univer doesn't give a fuck about you or me. White Privilege is real, of course. It is a combination of high genetic intelligence, studiousness, a tendency toward intellectual exploration, the capacity to organize, sustained hard work, and conscientiousness. There is a reason why whites design Mars landers and black athletes do not.
To make this point clearly (See? It is my tendency toward intellectual exploration), let us consider the following questions:
How many of the black athletes, or black radicals at Missouri, or anywhere, have any business being at a university? How many have IQs below ninety? How many are way below? How many are studying real subjects, such as chemistry, languages, philosophy, literature, or history—as distinct from subjects for the enfeebled, Black Studies, Sociology, Education, and Breathing for Credit?
How many of the jocks can read? In many universities the black athletes are kept in special dorms and get high grades for courses they never attend and can’t spell. Is that happening in Missouri? Can we see their SATs? No one, I promise, will want to check.
Stray thought: If universities accepted only those with intelligence and interest, the noise level would drop appreciably. I am for it.

When blacks in that situation get out from under and makes something of themselves they never go back, if they are smart, because they want to you suck back into hood. Thus the sense of entitlement as they were "victims" of white oppression and racisim. My son worked in a city like that and he fired many a worthless entitiled black person. He was called every name in the book including racist. Yet to fire these people he needed the OK from his boss and the head of HR all of whom were black.
Over 50% of the black people in the US are middle class or above. So let's not paint all of them as useless and entitiled POS.
