Confused? Here Is What Dennis Gartman Is Doing
When it comes to uncanny, accurate predictors of market moves since August, nothing, absolutely nothing, can outperform JPM's infamous head quant, Marko "Gandalf" Kolanovic.
Here is the annotated S&P500 since the August ETFlash crash, as we first showed it on Friday, with Kolanovic's five most recent calls, each of which was spot on.
And then there is Kolanovic's polar opposite: the person who takes the tiniest trendline, extrapolates into "Birinyi ruler space" infinity, and - in this rangebound market - has somehow gotten every single "forecast" wrong. We are, of course, talking about Dennis Gartman.
Here are his latest thoughts;
Clearly we wish that we had had the presence of mind to have been aggressively net short of equities, but we did not, nor are we that lucky. We shall, however, look upon any intra-day rally in the market as a point at which to become modestly shorter of the market. That is, given the range thus far with the low in the S&P futures just below 2000 in early trading, and given that the futures are now 2015, this is sufficient to sell into to become slightly net shorter of the market. This shall be especially worthy of selling into given that the futures “gapped” lower of course and given that the “gap” has been closed on this modest rally from the lows.
We note this just in case the BOJ needed one more reason to buy a few yards of USDJPY and send the S&P right back up to 2100.

Dang, I was hoping for a sell-off no we are sure to close up. Thanks Gartman you phuck.
Just be patient. He'll be bullish tomorrow.
WTF is Dennis talking about? He was agressively short the market about 6 flip flops ago, in other words, last week.
dennis is a obviously rattled. he just found out his teenage daughter is a little bit pregnant.
We shall, however, look upon any intra-day rally in the market as a point at which to become modestly shorter of the market...
okay, i'm confused. does this mean there won't be an intra-day rally, or there will be but it keeps on going, or that he goes "modestly" wishes it "had had" been more aggressively, or that...
It means that the message has worked. You are thoroughly confused and have no idea what is going on. That is a sign of successful propaganda.
WWDGD or What Would Dennis Gartman Do?
<I often wonder what his mother thinks of his antics. I bet she's proud.>
Gartman is proof that if there is a supreme knowledge in the universe, it has a great sense of humor and sarcasm.
Gartman, the best contrarian indicator.
I think Gartmen gets this one right.............. red close.
SELL! SELL!! SELLL!!!!
BUY! BUY!! BUYYY!!!
SELL! SELL!! SELLL!!!
BUY BUY BUY
this is why if I can't find a reason that makes me believe a company is making the right decisions to still be profitable 5-years-from-now I'm not placing any bets on them in the casino.
If we happen to see the horse, we will, of course, usher it back into the stable.
Somebody please start an Inverse Gartman 3x ETF, it would slay.
It probably would but the daily volume would be so low there would be no way to really benefit. Not enough ZHrs to make a market.
Im sorry Dennis but I cant work with this "Gartman speak" help a brother out. Are you modestly net long or short. What are you doing that I can action, I cant trade on still a little long but working to get short kinda sort of maybe.
