Russia Explains To Clueless US Public Why Obama Can't Defeat ISIS

Tyler Durden's picture

Earlier this week, CNN’s senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta asked President Obama the following question at a press briefing:

"A lot of Americans have this frustration that they see the United States has the greatest military in the world, it has the backing of nearly every other country in the world when it comes to taking on ISIS. I guess the question is, and if you'll forgive the language, but why can't we take out these bastards?"

Well Jim, the answer is quite simple and indeed, if you - or any other member of the mainstream media for that matter - would bother to look at things like the declassified Pentagon report that Judicial Watch turned up earlier this year, you’d be less confused.

Allow us, once again, to provide you with the answers you seek, straight from the Pentagon ca. 2012:

...there is the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist Principality in eastern Syria (Hasaka and Der Zor), and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion (Iraq and Iran).”

Translation: if Sunni extremists were to establish a proto-state in eastern Syria that would be great because it would destabilize Assad and cut off Iran from Hezbollah thus endangering the preservation of Tehran’s Shiite crescent.

For those who need a still simpler formulation: ISIS started out no different than any of the other rebels the US supports in Syria. They likely received guns, money, and training if not directly from the US, then from Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Washington seems to have had some idea that they would seek to capture and hold territory and as far as the Pentagon was concerned, that was just fine. Whether or not the CIA anticipated what would come next is up for debate, but make no mistake, US intelligence knew good and well this was a possibility and let it happen because ousting Assad was (and still is) the top priority.

So when the Jim Costas of the world ask “why can’t we take out these bastards?”, the answer is that if if we did, one of the main forces destabilizing the Assad regime would be gone and not only that, the US would no longer have an excuse to be in Syria, which would leave the country’s political future entirely up to Russia and Iran and that is a decidedly unpalatable outcome not only for Washington, but for Riyadh and Doha as well.

It’s Occam’s Razor Jim: look for the simplest possible explanation and go with that.

Of course that explanation is simply too bad to be true for most Americans and so the public and the mass media will continue to exists in a state of perpetual bewilderment as to why 13 months of aerial bombardment hasn’t done anything to degrade the group.

In case any of the above isn’t clear enough, Sergei Lavrov has commentary which may help to drive the point home, presented below without further comment:

"Despite announcing ambitious plans for its coalition against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), the analysis of those [US-led] airstrikes during over a year lead to conclusion that they were hitting selectively, I would say, sparingly and on most occasions didn’t touch those IS units, which were capable of seriously challenging the Syrian army."

“Apparently, it’s a kind of a ‘honey is sweet, but the bee stings’ situation: they want IS to weaken Assad as soon as possible to make him leave somehow, but at the same time they don’t want to overly strengthen IS, which may then seize power."

"The US stance seriously weakens the prospects of Syria to remain a secular state, where the rights of all ethnic and religious groups will be provided and guaranteed,”

"Russia’s assessment of the US-led anti-terror operation in Syria is based on observations of specific results and there are little results, not to say there are none – except the fact that during this period [since August 2014] the Islamic State has grown on the territories they control.”

Clear enough?

I think it is wrong to say that the US favors this move. The Luciferians running the administration certainly need to create the united caliphate and, frankly, they're doing one hell (pun intended) of a job of it.

But don't pretend that the Luciferians running the other governments of the world, including Russia and the EU, aren't playing their parts.

What do you need to kick off the really big show? A universal caliphate. Arab nukes. All the world's armies assembled on the plains of Armageddon. Together, they are kicking all of the shambling old legacy players off the stage and moving the requisite assets into position. Right before your eyes.

In the very unlikely event (since Russia has been blasting them) that ISIS were to take over in Syria, there's no certainty at all that it would allow the Qatar gas pipeline cross the country any more than Assad will.

ISIS have already demonstrated that they have a mind of their own [sic] and wouldn't follow orders from Washington.

The Qataris were never going to get their pipeline. If things went the Oded Yinnon way, as planned, the pipeline would carry Leviathan, offshore Israeli gas to Europe. If the Israelis let the Qataris go through too, the Zinos would wind up having to get paid at wholesale, not retail. Never gonna happen.

When I was a kid, Syria was always described as a client state of the Soviet Union.   That was over 50 years ago.  I suppose the neo-cons in the State Dept. couldn't resist the urge to "make a difference" with their lives by plotting to overthrow the Soviet-friendly Assads.  Proxy wars have always been the most favored type of East-West combat for the last half-century.  Apparently some goofus assumed that Russia would never get directly involved to save the Assads.

Well, Russia protected its friends in the middle east, the Assads will remain in power, 5 or 10 million brown people will either die or migrate into the West. where many of their young people will feel rootless, powerless, impoverished, and angry. What a fucking disaster for all concerned.

Can't somebody just give these ovlerly smart State Dept. fuckwads a chess set to play with?

Nurture. Verb.
1. to feed and protect;
2. to support and encourage, as during the period of training or development; foster;
3. to bring up; train; educate.

That would seem to depend on how defines "directly".  One of the things I found interesting about public discussion of the "moderate" training fiasco was what was not discussed.

We know they were aiming to spend $500 million and train 5,000 people, and only a "handful" (i.e 4-5) were successfully trained.

As to the other 4,995 or 4,996 trainees... was there a shortage of applicants?  was there a massive number of wash outs?  do we really "not know" what happened to the other 4000+, or is it really that we just don't know exactly which ISIS unit each one is currently assigned to?

The threshold of culpability is achieved with simple Negligence we're at least at Gross or Culpable Negligence with gross recklessness and wanton disregard to the point of being an accessory before the fact.  Under US sentencing guidelines we could incarcerate any of the principles for millennia, if not for sovereign immunity.

1.  Lavrov is probably right on the US not wanting to weaken ISIS much until they can do some more damange on Assad's regime and forces.  However, it's not a secret that Russian bombs have been falling wide of ISIS and more likely aimed at the anti-ISIS, anti-Assad forces.  Just stating the obvious, but the statement is a little hyprocritical.

2.  "The US stance seriously weakens the prospects of Syria to remain a secular state, where the rights of all ethnic and religious groups will be provided and guaranteed.”  Iran is doing their part in keeping the "secular state" on shaky legs.  They're setting up Shia education centers where the population is predominately Alawite (Assad's affiliation).  Alawites are separate and are having the Shia way almost forced.

Actually nothing hypocritical.  Russia made it clear it was there to support Assad against all military opponents and they have first taken out the ones located closest to territory controlled by Assad, which are mainly not ISIS, and are moving on from there.  That is pretty basic military strategy.  Unlike the US, they have not framed their action as being all about ISIS.

Where? RT of course.  I used to ask this question about RT and 9/11. Why not spill the beans. Then one day, there was this very interesting story on RT about The Fed and 9/11. Short summary: This Fed economist, doing research on Argentine collapse, got a hold of Fed physical cash deliveries to banks to get a baseline for Argy comparison. In the data, he sees a huge jump in cash delivered to NYC just prior to 9/11. When he tries to find out more, his project is terminated and he is fired.

To me, this is Russia putting down a marker saying 'We know there's more to the story, but we can't get into it right now, with our geopolitical hands full. Maybe some day, they will say more. I'd like to hear some official Russian thoughts on the Moon landings as well.

Found the RT vid. Skip to 2:57. William Bergman is the name of the Fed economist.

Lavrov is basically saying that the west has funded IS but they are not sure if they can continue to control them once the mission is complete and Assad is ousted so they are trying to manage their power.  The other part sounds like they want to empower and yet relegate ISIS to the east to thwart Iran.

It wont work here crocodile, I have tried to quit talking about it, but sometimes I throw a post in from my belief system.  Jesus gave words that can make a life more meaningful, but too many just want to do what they want.  They do not even realize scriptures such as "I give wisdom without reproach".  TPTB have won for the most part by distorting the truth thru the skool system, tv, etc.  Jesus said" if the town puts ya down, brush the dust from your feet and move on"....He didnt say to bomb the town, he said to just move on...more beauty. It is good that we bring it up once in awhile, because then those who put us down cant say we didnt share...I am not asking you to go to church, or change your lifestyle or beliefs, I am simply adding more information so that you can grow. But many hear our words and feel convicted...I dunno, all I do is share things I learn. I dont want to bomb countries, or make oil pipelines, or vote for a president, or talk political correctness, or change anyones own belief system, I am just sharing things that I think are true and beautiful...simple as that.

Just sharing history...sharing interesting things that I learn...Is not that what we are all here for?

You people, including me, come here to read tyler durden and that isnt even his real name.....wake up!   I share my learnings thru love and caring about our society.  I have also mentioned that the churhes are sold out, that tv evangelicals need to go away. The Evangelicals love of Bibi (see Free Republic) is pretty sickening.  Jesus had lots of issues with his own people - see the money changers he slammed and how he was sold out to the Romans by his own people.  The Romans wanted no part of it.

First; you are welcome and your comment is a blessing; always a win-win with Jesus.  Second, the beauty is the person of Christ and His word is one form of that manifestation.  We live in a world that is perishing and in rapid decline both morally and physically.Do not be too hard on yourself; if you are saved, then ALL your sins have been paid for in full and there is no turning back and no returns.

People should note that if Jesus (GOD manifested in the likeness of human flesh) has NOT spoken, then no one can judge another persons behavior as right or wrong except on the basis of their own self-made belief system & they are their own authority, but if God has spoken, then it should be the greatest human endeavor to know what He meant by what He said, for eternity is at stake.

Keep reading to understand, for we are all given a "measure of faith", not everyone is in the same place as it is suppose to be.  You may be a small part of the body, but yet part of the body...the part that will matter at the end, the start of the beginning of eternity.

"For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one."

"From Him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building up itself in love by the proper working of each individual part."

Lavrov is being very diplomatic, but he must be aware of this:

From Gulf Daily News…

The former employee at US National Security Agency (NSA), Edward Snowden, has revealed that the British and American intelligence and the Mossad worked together to create the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Snowden said intelligence services of three countries created a terrorist organisation that is able to attract all extremists of the world to one place, using a strategy called “the hornet’s nest”.

NSA documents refer to recent implementation of the hornet’s nest to protect the Zionist entity by creating religious and Islamic slogans.

According to documents released by Snowden, “The only solution for the protection of the Jewish state “is to create an enemy near its borders”.

Leaks revealed that ISIS leader and cleric Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi took intensive military training for a whole year in the hands of Mossad, besides courses in theology and the art of speech..

A few more layers to the hornet's nest, reported elsewhere:

1) ISIS leader Al-Baghdadi was once a super-high level prisoner of the US government. Despite the fact that the US had offered a ten million dollar reward for him, the Obama regime ordered his release in 2009.

2) The Obama regime, with major support from Senate neo-cons John McCain and Lindsey Graham, gave hundreds of millions in military aid to Sunni Jihadists in Syria. Thousands of individuals receiving US aid are now members of ISIS. In fact, ISIS has even posted pictures of ISIS fighters with US Senator John McCain on the internet. All in keeping with the Wolfowitz Doctrine, and Project for a New American Century, spearheaded by zionists leading U.S. policy.

3) Israel has directly aided Sunni Jihadists in Syria by bombing Syrian military assets during Jihadist attacks.

4) The Israeli Prime Minister has reacted to the ISIS spearheaded Sunni/Shia Civil War in Iraq with borderline glee. The president of Israel has also suggested that a Sunni/Shia war is beneficial to the future of Israel (the Yinon Plan).

5) The US and Britiain provided Sunni Jihadists with Toyota trucks in Syria. When an army of ISIS fighters rolled over the Syria/Iraq border, it looked like a commercial for Toyota.

Let's make it simple.
Have Assad declare internationally for all to hear that no nation's but Russia's and Iran's military are allowed in Syria.
Everybody else is commiting an act of war.
Ask the Russians and Iranians for help with defending the country from all intruders.

Of course we know that Russia will not attack any NATO forces in Syria. Like any other nation playing this game, they are willing to sacrifice innocent Syrian civilians.
In reality their willingness to get pushed around is what
has allowed this and Ukrainian crisis to continue.

What the hell does the strategy of "containment mean?  Was America's strategy of ISIS defeating  Assad supposed to lead to an ISIL controlled Syria? Then what. Open up an embassy with ISIL?

Furthermore if Americans are not prepared to take casualties WTF are you doing getting involved in war?  If you are not prepared to take blood the fight is not worth fighting. You aint got the stomach for it. Fucking yellow bellies.

It feels like Lavrov and Russia are being extremely generous in their description of the game being played right now.

Honestly, you gotta admit that they are really trying hard to give every opportunity for the West/NATO to behave rationally... I was completely surprised they ordered their cruiser to act "as allies" with the French efforts. It was certainly undeserved.

It's insane how easy it is for Russia and co to hold a mirror up to the West over their duplicities. Our leaders are sloppy, brazen, and drunk on their ability to act in the midst of middle america's politically-dysfunctional state.

So satan America helps its defence contractors by creating and sustaining risks using war, militancy & terrorists , so that when aid is given, its own defence contrators can claim huge amounts for any work done due to high risks.

Exactly. The British.gov is up to its neck in creating/supporting terrorism.

7/7 is a classic example. The notion that it happened on the very same day at the very same three tube stations as a terrorist training exercise was going on, but it was a giant coincidence is beyond belief.

It has been this way for a long time. Occasional attempts by Cameron to get Parliamentary approval to bomb Syria are just a smoke screen distraction for what they're already doing. Cameron's latest sound bites in The Commons to bomb Syria will only exacerbate the refugee crises.

Anyone that thinks ISIS is for real probably waits for Santa on Christmas Eve.

Y'all remember John Yoo, official professor of homo-erotic torture for Bush's DoJ?

"Another tool would have our intelligence agencies create a false terrorist organization. It could have its own websites, recruitment centers, training camps and fundraising operations. It could launch fake terrorist operations and claim credit for real terrorist strikes, helping to sow confusion within Al Qaeda's ranks, causing operatives to doubt others' identities and to question the validity of communications."

Which begs the question of how Hollande in France has stated several times since last Friday that "we are at war with terrorism". He must have intel about the coming attacks or - perish the thought - has signed them off with the false flaggers.

Not to mention Sergei, the greatest refugee exodus in Europe post WWII.  But I guess saying USSA, through funding of ISIS, has created the European humanitarian crisis in the first place.  A bit too much for mainstream media I suppose.

Making the World Safe for Banksters: Syria In the Cross-hairs

By Ellen Brown, September 5, 2013.

… Forty percent of banks globally are publicly-owned. They are largely in the BRIC countries—Brazil, Russia, India and China—which house forty percent of the global population. They also escaped the 2008 credit crisis, but they at least made a show of conforming to Western banking rules. This was not true of the “rogue” Islamic nations, where usury was forbidden by Islamic teaching. To make the world safe for usury, these rogue states had to be silenced by other means. Having failed to succumb to economic coercion, they wound up in the crosshairs of the powerful US military. …

WTO members were induced to sign the agreement by threatening their access to global markets if they refused;  … That was the fate of countries in the WTO … those that were not in that organization at all, including Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran ... These seven countries were named by U.S. General Wesley Clark (Ret.) in a 2007 “Democracy Now” interview as the new “rogue states” being targeted for take down after September 11, 2001. He said that about 10 days after 9-11, he was told by a general that the decision had been made to go to war with Iraq. Later, the same general said they planned to take out seven countries in five years: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran.

What did these countries have in common? Besides being Islamic, they were not members either of the WTO or of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). That left them outside the long regulatory arm of the central bankers’ central bank in Switzerland. Other countries later identified as “rogue states” that were also not members of the BIS included North Korea, Cuba, and Afghanistan.

The body regulating banks today is called the Financial Stability Board (FSB), and it is housed in the BIS in Switzerland. In 2009, the heads of the G20 nations agreed to be bound by rules imposed by the FSB, ostensibly to prevent another global banking crisis. Its regulations are not merely advisory but are binding, and they can make or break not just banks but whole nations. … Among other game-changing regulations in play under the FSB are Basel III and the new bail-in rules. Basel III is slated to impose crippling capital requirements on public, cooperative and community banks, coercing their sale to large multinational banks. …

Countries laboring under the yoke of an extractive private banking system are being forced into “structural adjustment” and austerity by their unrepayable debt. But some countries have managed to escape. In the Middle East, these are the targeted “rogue nations.” Their state-owned banks can issue the credit of the state on behalf of the state, leveraging public funds for public use without paying a massive tribute to private middlemen. Generous state funding allows them to provide generously for their people.

Like Libya and Iraq before they were embroiled in war, Syria provides free education at all levels and free medical care. It also provides subsidized housing for everyone (although some of this has been compromised by adoption of an IMF structural adjustment program in 2006 and the presence of about 2 million Iraqi and Palestinian refugees). Iran too provides nearly free higher education and primary health care.

Like Libya and Iraq before takedown, Syria and Iran have state-owned central banks that issue the national currency and are under government control. Whether these countries will succeed in maintaining their financial sovereignty in the face of enormous economic, political and military pressure remains to be seen. …

??? … remains to be seen … ???

" Never let a good crisis go to waste"

Obama created ISIS to destabilize Assad, but it indirectly created the largest mass immigration of Islamic hordes  into the west, ever imagined. Meanwhile wink-wink, nudge, nudge...no refugees go to Saudi Arabia.

I could not beleive that these words had not been quoted in mainstream media in the English language (or on a wider basis 'The West') I just did a search for the text in Google under  the News tab. Not a dicky bird, not a sausage, not one whisper.

Running a general search turned up quite a few online secondary references - blogs and the like, but nothing mainstream and much not in the English language.

Right now, my father, bless him, probably thinks that the Russians are a bunch of heartless bastards because he has seen nothing about Russia, or the president, expressing sympathy or solidarity with the French and the people who died, were injured or those who survive them.
