Trump Tops Clinton As Cruz Crushes Crashing "Clueless" Carson

Tyler Durden's picture

The latest poll following the attacks in Paris, by Fox News, shows Donald Trump moving ahead of Democrat-front-runner Hillary Clinton (in a head-to-head match up if the election were held today), but it is the turmoiling below the surface of the GOP nominations that is garnering most headlines. After a week or two of hope for GOP leadership, as Ben Carson appeared to catch up to Trump, the retired neurosurgon's lies and weakness on foreign policy ("he clearly has no idea what he's talking about," as one Iowa GOP insider noted), have sent his poll numbers reeling... and Cruz surging.

Top Trumps...

But Cruz catches a bid as Carson collapses... (as The Right Scoop reports)

NBC News has a new nationwide surveymonkey poll out today, with a very large sample size of over 2400 that are Republican or who lean Republican, that shows Ted Cruz surging 8 points to second place into a tie with Ben Carson with 18%. Trump is of course still in first place with 28%.

The interesting thing about this poll is that we can see the history all the way back to April of this year, and in this new polling Cruz is higher than he’s ever been, especially as of late:

nbcsurveymonkeypollhistory

Also Carson was tied with Trump the last time this poll took place in late October, however he has fallen a significant amount to 18%. It looks like Trump has increased in the last 15 days or so a few points.

Rubio has increased, but only by a couple of points since the last poll.

Here are a couple of charts that show how the candidates are doing in a few subcategories:

nbcsurveymonkeywhiteevangelical

nbcsurveymonkeypollmenwomen

*  *  *
The broader tracking index of RealClearPolitics also shows Carson's demise, but Cruz resurgence is less obvious...

As Politico reports, the emergence of foreign policy as a central issue in the presidential campaign poses the greatest threat to Ben Carson -- no other GOP candidate has as much vulnerability on the issue.

Last week’s terror attacks in Paris — combined with a number of missteps on international issues — imperil Carson’s status as a leading candidate, according to the insiders, who said the retired pediatric neurosurgeon has failed to articulate coherent foreign policy or shown command of the issues. A resounding 71 percent of Republicans said Carson was the most vulnerable among the 14 GOP hopefuls on foreign policy — far more than any other candidate.

“He clearly has no idea what he’s talking about,” said one South Carolina Republican.

“Ben Carson's complete ineptitude makes you long for the days of ‘Uz-beki-beki-stan-stan,’” added an Iowa Republican, referring to a disastrous Herman Cain interview four years ago.

Foreign affairs were never Carson’s strength but the issue took on new resonance after the terror attacks in Paris last week. Since then, Carson has faltered in interviews, and a New York Times story earlier this week quoted an 83-year-old Carson adviser who described the candidate as needing intense coaching “to make him smart.”

“Carson is so clueless,” said an Iowa GOP insider. “He thinks the Kurds are a special kind of Wisconsin cheese.”

On a lighter note, perhaps, as The Oinion so eloquently noted, despite public outcry against his incendiary comments on women and minorities, Donald Trump is still the leading Republican candidate...

Here are some reasons Trump stays so popular with his supporters:

  • Highly relatable lack of qualifications for holding government office
  • Americans’ appreciation for classic underdog story of man who started with only several hundred million dollars and went on to make several billion dollars
  • Only candidate to publicly state willingness to make America great again
  • Exploits other Republican candidates’ weaknesses by allowing them to open their mouths and speak on issues
  • Very, very handsome
  • Voters eager to see presidential library with three infinity pools and rooftop driving range
  • Bolstered by impassioned endorsement from Donald Trump
  • Eccentric, megalomaniac billionaire still more relatable to average American than anyone willing to dedicate life to politics
  • Appeals to widespread desire to see nation implode sooner rather than later

Useless old white americans + their spawn haven't had a good couple decades and the trump campaign is their death rattle. Thankfully no chance he can win the general, makes the RNC dilemma interesting.

Perhaps for the same reasons as daddy Paul. I've mentioned more than once in this forum that I voted for Ron Paul in the Iowa Straw Poll at Ames. Lots of red t-shirts were given out that August day, yet NONE of the MSM would dare mention Ron scored second place. This despite a huge amount of media prescence, it proved how tightly controlled the media truly are in this country!

For the same reason Jesse Ventura is not ever mentioned.  Can anyone doubt who would dominate the debate if Ventura was in them?

The fact that Donald Trump is leading is a measure of the remaining effectiveness of MSM.  They can no longer so completely control the agenda.

Move the debates to the net is the obvious answer.

That's just it. I recall seeing that you have to be very wealthy to do so, barring special circumstances.

I'm just sick of watching the U.S. being suicided and warring with so much of the rest of the world. It's madness.

More than half of Americans, 53 percent, say they “feel like a stranger” in their own country

Sun, 11/22/2015 - 19:28 | 6825610 Urban Redneck
Urban Redneck's picture

If you want to move to Switzerland, you must first understand that in Swiss English "barring special circumstances" means read the fine print, VERY CAREFULLY... SEVERAL TIMES... and THINK.

I married someone in Switzerland (so I didn't have to declare any overseas assets to the Swiss government, I was free to re-form my previous company here in my own eccentric fashion, and I didn't deprive anyone under the quota system of a visa).

Switzerland actually recruits skilled foreign labor (but I didn't want to admit I was ex-bankster when I they were recruiting in London, and there's no shortage of bankers here with this year's layoffs).

But if you think you want to move to Switzerland 1) understand you will feel like a stranger in a very strange land 2) learning at least fluent German and French is practically a prerequesite and 3) even if you're a millionaire you will be POOR here and have a much lower standard of living than your are accustomed to in your current domicile.

Probably the easiest method of immigration for a hard worker, with both skills and education (who is not in the ultra high net worth crowd) is to go work for a Swiss company or a multinational with facilities in Switzerland (see number 2 above), and then do an intra-company transfer to their Swiss parent or subsidiary.  The are plenty of options for many different professions and industries including accounting, biotech, banking, consulting, engineering, logistics, manufacturing, technology, and trading.

Consider how the Conservative, fearful, angry, vengeful, genocidal tribal desert sky god-believing morons must feel after their fellow moron, Crazy Carson, tanks in the polls.

Then there's The Donald, who is really a Wall St., bankster-and-real estate-syndicate Demoncrazy pandering to the rest of the Republifascist morons who don't know any better.

Lastly, we have Dame Hillbillary, the presumptive first female (???) CEO of the Anglo-American, militarist-imperialist, rentier-socialist corporate-state.

That begs the obvious question of what we morons did to deserve these "choices".

Therefore, there is only one legitimate "choice" for us morons, and that is, if one feels compelled to vote, then one must write in one's own name for CEO of the corporate-state, as we can affirm with out vote that each of us morons is no less worse than the "choices" imposed upon us by the rentier-socialist Power Elite top 0.001%.

Imagine if TENS OF MILLIONS OF 'MERIKAN MORONS voted FOR THEMSELVES instead of the Establishment-vetted "choices".

What more fitting a result for our "moronocracy".

Trump is the man for the times and no one else will politically benefit from the collapsing Obama regime like Trump.

In one way after another, Obama piled one disastrous policy after another on top of Bush's disastrous policies.  They are all progressively unravelling (Obamacare, illegal aliens, trade deals for Wall Street against Main Street, unnecessary wars and continuous failure in them, capitulation to islam, a swarm of islamists for the US and Europe, PC mania) and will continue to do so into the election.

The only candidate who has consistently spoken out against most of it and looks as though he would actually try to do something about it, and the only candidate who sounds as though he genuinely loves the America that was, is Trump, who epitomises America winning and refuses to back down.

His strength is business and yet he has beaten the politicians and the media at their own game.  In fact he has thrashed them and the public has seen him consistently do so while showing up all the pundits as gibbering idiots.

For all his braggadocio, that makes him the candidate for this time and the ultimate winner.  Hillary will get the consolation prize of an orange jumpsuit.

I do believe Trump cares about America.  I get this from some remarks he made several years ago.  The lousy trade deals the US signed (NAFTA) really irked him.  He spoke collectively about how America got hurt.  So he was not speaking just for himself.  The rest of the pols only seemed concerned about how much blood is left in the country's veins they might possibly extract for themselves.  Let's face it: you just can't do any worse than where we are now. (Unless of course you put in you know who).

Anybody watch the interview with George Stephanopoulos this morning on ABC News?....

After listening to him spout out of his pie hole about 9/11 and the "War on Terror" after today it's safe to say he and Hitlery certainly agree on with it and our continued need for protection(s) afforded under the auspices of the Patriot Act(s) and NDAA...

THink it's safe to assume that anyone approaching him with this before the end of 2016 will be labeled a "nut"!

Larry Silverstein "sent him"!!!

Trump.  Because the Republicans hate him.  Trump.  Because unlike Hillary, he doesn't aspire to be a career criminal right in everybody's face.

Trump.  Because he owes nothing to nobody, and egomaniac that he is, is the only candidate who might actually make decisions based on what he thinks is right rather than what he will be paid for it.

It pains me to say this, but I TRUST the clown more than I can ever trust Hillary Clinton.

Yes, Tyler, there are still just too many White voters with enough sense to vote their own interest - why can't they see that another Nigger is vital to coping with "Murica's problems ? Oh Vey, the tragedy of it all.

If the Laugh Factory youtube video went viral after Hillary's disapproval of it, she will go bat crazy after tonight's radio interview referenced below makes its rounds:

We can't go on as we are. It is not only a disaster for the world but, if Hillarious or Cruz of Bush gets in we will have terminal boredom to add to our woes.

She will probably implode before next year anyway  - no one can keep that fake smile and fake exuberance going.

I go for the unstable egomaniac showman and a les boring predictable world.

"hello, sir, this is fuck-wad pollsters calling today, may we ask you a few questions about the candidates for President?"

-ok

"who are you most likely to vote for?"

-Donald Trump

"and what is your religion please?"

-evangelical Christian

tell me what in the name of mo-hammmed and the other false profits is an evangelical Christian?  a baptist, 7th dayer, lutheran, catholic, mormon?  who's in and who's out of this subjective, easily manipulated polling category?  and are they polling evangelical muslims too (all muslims)?

For actual breakdown of support for Trump and others by various categories, try http://polling.reuters.com/#poll/TR130/filters/D20:1 and its running polls

You can select the filter and you discover that amongst virtually any group (e.g. Asians/Blacks/Hispanics; or higher income earners) Trump outpolls his rivals.

Sometimes facts don't fit very conveniently with assumptions.

Hillary is out defending Planned Parenthood, Radical Islam, and illegal Mexican immigrants - while offering two or three new big time entitlements each week. Once she finishes off Bernie she will move back to the middle -- and only a couple Republicans will actually criticize her flip-flops.

What a bunch of idiots.  Events, people, and countries change over time.  Why find fault with Carson over events that may not be relevant a year from now.  He has the intelligence to make decisions when facts are presented - not because it is politically correct or expedient.  He is not my top choice but why discount a smart man because of color or events in the east that have been going on for centuries - perhaps no one has the answer to the religious wars that will not rest until one or the other is gone.

Do you want a political player or a person of reason?

Shout out for Rand Paul from Bernie Sanders:

Q:  Is there any Republican now running that would make a tolerable president?

A:  "As the longest-serving Independent in the history of Congress, who has worked with many Republicans, who has friends who are Republicans, I hate to appear to be overly partisan. I really do. But if you look at this whole slate of Republican candidates for president, we are looking at a party that has moved very, very, very far to the right. And a party with many people who lie all the time in order to obfuscate what they really stand for.

"If you scratch away the nuances, this is what they believe in: more tax breaks for billionaires; almost all believe that we should cut  Social Security, some believe we should privatize it; cut Medicare; cut Medicaid; cut federal aid to education; cut nutrition programs. And many of them are seemingly interested in getting us in another war in the Middle East.

"I would say Rand Paul, on occasion, comes out and says something that is sensible. On the other hand, what did he recently say? That I'm like Pol Pot? So we don't want to overdo it here in expressing great sympathy for Rand Paul. But he has shown a consistent attention to the invasion of our privacy rights both from the federal government and corporate America. And he is much [more] reluctant than his colleagues to get us into another war. On those two issues, he has stood above the other Republican candidates."

I am a Stanford Business School graduate just shy of a half-century ago.  I have done a lot of financial consulting with physicians both their medical practices and individual financial portfolios.  When they are out of their area of specialty the average physician is as dumb as a box of rocks.  My father who started as a section-hand on the Milwaukee Road at 18 and who was promoted to full engineer by age 23 told me once the average doctor couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the directions were printed on the heel.

Two decades later I had to concede he was absolutely correct.  They seem to think they know everything and that's that.  Carson is a typical example of this syndrome.  He actually thinks he knows everything he needs to know to be an outstanding President and Commander in Chief.

He is not now, nor ever will be but he a is a good man and an outstanding doctor. Period!  Appoint him Surgeon General and have him clean the lifers out of the V.A.  He can do this but he can never run this country in the shape it is in today come hell or high water.
