As Donald Trump came under fire for claiming that he saw Muslims in New Jersey cheering on 9/11, admitted-non-total-truth-speaker Ben Carson jumped on the bandwagon claiming he too "saw film of it." Now, in yet another embarrassing u-turn 'oops' for the retired (now it all makes sense) neurosurgeon, the Carson campaign told CBS News Monday evening that Carson is "really not" standing behind his earlier statement and that the GOP presidential candidate was thinking of other footage he saw.

Ben Carson is walking back comments he made earlier Monday in which he claimed that he saw Muslims cheering in New Jersey during television news coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The Carson campaign told CBS News Monday evening that Carson is "really not" standing behind his earlier statement and that the GOP presidential candidate was thinking of the "ample" news footage he watched of celebrations from the Middle East after 9/11.
Earlier in the day Monday at a rally in Pahrump, Nevada, Carson was asked if Muslims were cheering on 9/11 when the Twin Towers fell.
"Yes," said Carson, who was then asked to elaborate further. "Well, you know, there are going to be people who respond inappropriately to virtually everything. I think that was an inappropriate response. I don't know if on the basis of that you can say all Muslims are bad people; I really think that would be a stretch."
Asked once more to confirm exactly what footage he saw, Carson said he witnessed Muslims cheering on "newsreels" during coverage of the attacks and confirmed it was shot in New Jersey.

Trump will claim he mis-spoke and retract. He will then correct himself and state that it was not Arabs, but Israelis who were caught celebrating. In recent days Donald Trump has caught flak for several ostensibly anti-Muslim comments. Among them was his statement that he saw thousands of Muslims in Jersey City celebrating after the twin towers collapsed on September 11, 2001.
So NPR, the New York Times and the Associated Press searched contemporaneous news accounts and could find no evidence of Muslim-Americans cheering in Jersey City. That’s odd. Because it took me less than two minutes to find this story from the Washington Post dated September 18, 2001 (although I did have to spend $3.95 to buy it from the Post’s archives):

I remember on 9/11 watching live coverage on television and clips, supposedly from the Middle East, of people celebrating the twin towers collapse. Random crowds of Muslims just dancing around, with no identifiable location or date attributed. My old mother just looked at them and said: "Who knows what those people are cheering. This might as well be an old video of some guests at a wedding. Regardless, that will not stop us from bombng them." And oh how right she was 14 years ago.

It was that, PLUS the actual dancing muslims that was on the news afterward. The muslims were in the Middle East though (Iraq?), and a week or so later, the truth emerged that this footage wasn't even from 9/11.

Does not follow. Who is to say the "28 pages" are truth? We all know what they say: "Saudi Arabia did 9/11." That's why it was waved around in public last year (or was it the year before? Hard to keep track) in the form of a "senator who read the pages and was horrified", at a time when the Saudis were not wanting to play ball with the Establishment agenda. I seem to recall them hurriedly jumping back on board with said agenda shortly afterwards.
I'm sure they are right and the Muslims actually all love us terribly and profess such every day at prayers. I have no doubt of it. It's just silly that we would think Muslims would take glee at the suffering of an infidel. I think the most important quality we require in a president is someone who can lie effortlessly, who regardless of their knowledge or opinion can respond to any query with a topical but off subject response that emotes passion without really saying anything material. I walked into the office that morning, parking garage was a block away, in time to turn on the tv, to see smoke pouring out of the first tower, and thought "some stupid cesna pilot flew into the World Trade Bldg". And seconds later saw the 2nd airliner crash into the other tower. Walking back to the car after work had a full on muslim, carrying what I assumed to be the Koran, pointed a finger and screamed at me in jibberish, but it did not seem sympathetic in the slightest. There may now be a voice that goes counter to the terrorists but I do not remember any then other than a few token voices put out on parade. I also understand if I was a member of a larger religion that took out extreme retribution I'd be hesitant about being vocal too.
