Is Turkey Lying: Rescued Russian Pilot Says There Was No Warning Before F-16 Opened Fire

Tyler Durden's picture

The conflicting stories over yesterday's dramatic downing of a Russian jet on the Syria-Turkish border continue to grow, and after the ongoing confusion whether the Russian pilot did or did not enter Turkish territory for a grand total of 17 seconds, moments ago Konstantin Murahtin, the co-pilot from the downed Russian jet who survived the ground fire by US-armed rebels unlike his pilot, and who was rescued by the Syrian army, said that contrary to official reports that Turkey had somehow warned the Russian jet "10 times" (in 17 seconds?) that it would fire, Turkey had in fact given no warning whatsoever before downing the Russian jet.

This is what he said, cited by Sputnik:

"There were no warnings. Not via the radio, not visually. There was no contact whatsoever. That's why we were keeping our combat course as usual. You have to understand what the cruising speed of a bomber is compared to an F-16. If they wanted to warn us, they could have shown themselves by heading on a parallel course. But there was nothing. And the rocket hit our tail completely unexpectedly. We didn't even see it in time to take evasive maneuvres."

Murahtin shown in the photo below:

And here he is speaking to the Russian press with an English voiceover:

It would be quite easy to confirm or deny his allegation that Turkey is lying by simply checking the data from the plane's Black Box, and alterantively, from the F-16 that was responsible for the downing of the Russian Su-24, who as shown on the photo below, is one  Yb. Uner:

Murahtin also made it clear that he thought there was no violation of the Turkish airspace and added that the crew of the downed Russian bomber jet knew the area of the operation "like the back of their hands."

The co-pilot added that he wants to continue serving in the Russian aviation group in Syria: "I can't wait until I get the all-clear from the medics, so that I can step back into the ranks. I'm going to ask our command to keep me on this base — I have a debt to repay, for my commander."

More in the RT report below:

The bottom line is that someone is lying, and while for now there has been no material escalation in tensions between Turkey and Russia, it is almost assured that Putin is now carefully plotting just what his next move should be, one which will likely include the missile cruiser by the Syrian coast and any Turkish fighter jets that stray into Syrian territory.

For now what Russia appears set on doing next is closing the Syrian border with Turkey. As earlier reported, Moscow backs the proposal of French President Francois Hollande to close the Turkish-Syrian border, Sergei Lavrov said.

"I think this is the right desicion. I hope President Hollande will tell us more about the issue tommorow. We would be ready to consider all measures that needed for this [closing the border]. By closing the border we will basically thwart the terrorist threat in Syria," the minister said.

But Lavov was not finished. In a press conference earlier today, he first said that "Moscow is not avoiding contacts with Ankara" citing his phone conversation with the Turkish FM as proof.

He press on saying that "too many indicators showing terrorist threats have appeared on Turkish soil", Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.

"We cannot leave everything that has happened without a reaction not because we have to respond somehow, that’s not it. Actually there have been too many indicators on Turkish soil that show a direct terrorist threat to our citizens."

“I think that now we will insist on not just a list of members of this group, but also agree on the overall understanding of the channels the terrorists use to get their feedlines and support."

“We will somehow probably have to deal with certain countries so that this support ends,” Lavrov added.

It is quite clear just which "countries" the Russian minister was referring to, and it is safe to say the entire world is eagerly looking forward to see just what Russia's ultimate decision will be.

Yes. Obama lies and Erdogan lies. Putin tells the truth.

Erdogan, by shooting down the Russian plane, is trying to pull his main lever against Putin and it ain’t no NATO.

This “lever” is the Bosporus, the Dardanelles, and the Sea of Marmara, which together form the Turkish Straits, connecting the Black Sea with the Mediterranean.

The passage through the Straits is regulated by the Montreux Convention since 1936.

According to the Article 20 of the Convention, In time of war, Turkey being belligerent, … the passage of warships shall be left entirely to the discretion of the Turkish Government… … a notification to that effect shall be addressed to the High Contracting Parties and to the Secretary-General of the League of Nations.

Now, when was the last time, boys and girls, you’ve heard of a heavily advertised “letter sent to the UN’s Secretary General” about any hostilities, wars, no-fly-zones?

The closure of the Straits can also be overwritten by the Security Council (Article 21).

Erdogan has just shot himself in the ass. He’s enjoyed a very friendly relationship with Putin for a long time, but now he’s got an angry powerful neighbor instead. ;-)

Of course Erdogan was lying, this was a planned provocation.  The USSA and minions, such as Erdogan, are so in LOVE with false flags, that this is how they now govern. Unfortunately for the vile satanists that control our foreign policy, false flags are yielding diminishing returns.

A fighter or bomber without a rear-facing Doppler RADAR is not a good idea. These systems automatically deploy defensive measures include jamming, laser blinders, chaff, and flares. Hell, even commercial jetliners are carrying these things now.

Russia will now run 'top cover' for bombers via MiG interceptors and S400 systems.   Once again, Turkey was trying to manufacture an international incident, another false flag to tar Russia as an aggressor.

Unfortunately for the vile satanists that control our foreign policy, false flags are yielding diminishing returns. Russia will re reinforce the border with Turkey, while leaving Erdogan to explain how attacking Russia makes the world safer (tm).  Meanwhile, peoples of the European nations, most of whom HATE the Turks,  see for themselves that Erdogan is a dirty, treacherous POS supporting the same terrorists that just attacked Paris and Brussels.

Russia's neo-colonial invasion of Syria is a crime against the Syrian people, and threatens the peace and stability of the middle east, and we need to intervene immediately in order to overthrow Assad and restore peace to this region so that Syria can be free. We in the west are to blame for migrant crisis that is plaguing thousands of innocent Syrians, and it is our responsibility to rectify the situation. We need to send a clear message to Russia that we will not tolerate their interference with the Syrian people's efforts to free their nation from Assad and his tyrannical regime. We need to act decisively and put a stop to Russia's war-mongering immediately, for the sake of not only peace in the middle east, but for peace and stability globally.

By Turkey's own account of the incident, they've said they warned the pilots 10 times they were in Turkish airspace. (I'm not saying they were actually in Turkey's airspace) Also by Turkey's account they were in Turkish airspace for about 2 miles or 17 seconds.     I mean  just warning them once and allowing time for them to respond would take at least 20-30 seconds.  Turkey's own account proves they are lying.

How on Earth can an aircraft in the class of the SU-25 not have any kind of missile warning system?  How on Earth can the Russians run combat ops in an area where ground or air-based surviellance wouldn't pick up an enemy missile launch?

Hmmm. . .

wow...glad that guy lived!  I had thought I heard up til now that both of those guys died from the scumbags shooting them out of the sky.  But what he said makes perfect sense with what we were thinking yesterday, so I'm glad he's around to verify the situation as it was:

"There were no warnings. Not via the radio, not visually. There was no contact whatsoever. That's why we were keeping our combat course as usual. You have to understand what the cruising speed of a bomber is compared to an F-16. If they wanted to warn us, they could have shown themselves by heading on a parallel course. But there was nothing. And the rocket hit our tail completely unexpectedly. We didn't even see it in time to take evasive maneuvers."

this was exactly what we were thinking yesterday...they had to have been ambushed or else they would not have been shot down so easily like that.  And also, as he says, they had been flying that same patrol for a long time and knew the area very well.

This makes is sound even more plausible that they were ambushed on purpose by the Turkish pilot.  He probably also flew patrols there frequently and knew the Russian flight pattern and somebody gave the go ahead to shoot them down.

If you took the time to inform yourself before commenting you might have discoverd that Turkey has been dealing with Russian incursions into thier airspace for several days.  They have warned the Russians repeatedly over several days.  I have no doubt that a decision was made at the highest level to take down the next Russian plane which violated Turkish airspace perhaps even without further warning.  Good on them.

Russians been flying combat ops in that area since they arrived. Turks know it. We know it. Everyone knows it. This shit is solved with telephone calls between full bird colonels followed by hard drinks after.

You shoot on people when you have an agenda.

"They were warned." Pffffff............ South Koreans lined us up with 20mm's over the No Fly Zone so many times if they pulled the shit the Turks did I'd be fucking dead right now. "They were warned." What a jackass comment.

ISIS and thier supporters are getting desparate.  By Russia taking out the oil trucks... it's causing a major hit to the illegal oil trade between Turkey and ISIS.  SOme have estimated that revenue to be close to 1 billion this year.  Russia just needs to keep smashing, and get international support to keep applying pressure to get the Syrian/Turkish border shut down.  The worst thing Russia can do now is over-react and give the NATO asshats a reason it increase the pressure elsewhere.

Great satire, as usual. You are clearly misunderstood by many here.

But shooting down a Russian plane has zero to do with Turkey's interests- it has everything to do with the millions/billions Ergogan has been pocketing personally, with Obama's and NATO's tacit consent, from the ISIS oil being transported by Turkish (innocent) drivers in Turkish oil trucks.

Nothing complicated here- Tony Soprano got a message from one of the big 5 families to stop fucking around; so Tony popped a Capo.  Now Tony is going to find out if the other 4 families want an all out war over a little leaguer in New Jersey.

Just look at the US foreign policies, endless invasions, and interventions after the fall of USSR.

Afterburning engines would be too hard on a radar - not a lot of room in the empenage. Fighters and bombers use radar warning receivers (RWR) to detect the target tracking radars for active and semi-active missiles, and for radar guided AAA. RWR can detect search and track radar and tell the difference between the two. An unobserved entry to IR missile parameters is tough to defend against.

"In the event of a violation of airspace, there are military protocols which seek to mitigate behaviors of the country whose airspace has been violated, as well as the intruding aircraft. Warning jets are deployed to establish contact with the foreign aircraft, ensuring their full visibility (given the possibility of a failure of navigation or control equipment aboard the foreign jet.)

This aircraft is then accompanied out of the said airspace, sometimes landing in the host-nation’s aerodrome. If the offending aircraft continues on its flight path into foreign airspace, ‘friendly fire’ is permissible to serve as a warning to the crew of the aircraft. An attack against the aircraft itself is a last resort action of self – defense, having established the intent of the aircraft.

None of the preliminary steps were carried out by Turkey. The attack was sudden, without warning, and according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, took place over Syrian airspace.

What could be the motives of Turkey, as a Member of NATO? Turkey is on the side of ISIS in this war, with their efforts aimed against the Kurds. Secondly, Turkey benefits from huge amounts of cheap oil extracted and sold by ISIS. Thirdly, Turkey is a member of NATO is entirely under the influence of the US.

This leads me to my next point; what was our SU-24 doing at the time of the attack? It was bombing a column of oil trucks, on their way to Turkey. Effectively, it was burning said “petro-dollars” from the sale of illegal oil. The movements of these columns are controlled by the CIA through their people within ISIS. This attack has one major motive. Take a look at what happened immediately after the incident; Turkey has initiated, on advice of the US, a meeting between the heads of NATO states.

This is an attempt to throw into disarray the apparent warming of relations between Russia, France, and possibly Germany – the anti-ISIS coalition. Allowing this coalition to flourish would be akin to suicide for Washington. This is why the operation to disengage the EU from Russia has been so quick, despite the mutual fight against international terrorism. International terrorism is consistently used as a foreign policy pawn on behalf of the United States."

This “lever” is the Bosporus, the Dardanelles, and the Sea of Marmara, which together form the Turkish Straits, connecting the Black Sea with the Mediterranean."

True.  But how realistic of an option do Russia have in getting a supply line going from the Caspian Sea to Iran/Iraq/Syria?  Is that possibility completely off the table?  If passage to Syria's coast is required, I can see a naval to land to naval route involving only Iran and the Suez canal as an intermediary.  Turkey's area of influence can be bypassed completely if they maintain poor relations with Egypt.

Disinfo.

Elites are elites - yes, but rulers do differ. Greatly. Some are benevolent some are not. And no, sorry to disappoint, the teams have different cultures and agendas. No way the Russians are on the same team as the Anglo-Zionists. That's the problem - they're *not* on the same team! Hence the current very real danger of nuclear war which nobody, including the elites, wins. My fear however is that power has gone to the heads of certain powers in the West's exceptional nation who believe they can "win" a nuclear war with Russia. Bat. Shit. Crazy.

Edit: not saying the bankers and oligarchs haven't stolen trillions - they have. Only that the picture is quite a bit more complicated than you suggest.

"My fear however is that power has gone to the heads of certain powers in the West's exceptional nation who believe they can "win" a nuclear war with Russia. Bat. Shit. Crazy."

They are more delusional than you think. In fact the West's elites are the prime target in a nuclear war, and even though a small and select strata might have time to hide in a deep bunker, the vast substrata that supports them, runs their bureaucracies and mans their deep state will certainly be annihilated.

No intelligent power like Russia is likely to waste a perfectly good nuke on Paducah Kentucky, but it is certain that the entire population of Manhattan Island, and the DC beltway will be vaporized along with West Los Angeles (propaganda production central) and Silly Valley. The effluvia of the silos in Iowa and Nebraska can be intercepted. Remarkably, our elites and their supporting substrata still believe that the main combatants will be rural boys from Texas and Tennessee which in a strange turn of justice will be the safest places to hide.

The nuclear war our elites seek to provoke will be the first in nearly a thousand years in which the elites themselves will be on the front lines of the combat.

Just think of a "non-UN" peacekeeping force stationed along the border. And they won't need a fence - their 'wall' will be made of 'lead' - try to cross and you die. Also, a handful of people crossing is not an issue - rather the key will be to close the highways - effectively stopping oil tankers, trucks with weapons, large numbers of troops, and even food supplies.

first of all get informed about the "young turks"   young turks is a movement and many members of this movement were jews

they destroyed turkish monarchy  removed/weakend islam and took over turkey

+ "the Jewish population of Ottoman Empire had reached nearly 200,000 at the start of the 20th century."

+ check out this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%B6nmeh

im of jewish descent too   i can combine some dots usually only understandable to jews to get the right picture

the first line about erdogan on wikipedia is how much of a liar he is:"Erdo?an was born in the Kas?mpa?a neighborhood of Istanbul to which his family had moved from Rize Province. Erdo?an allegedly said in 2003, "I'm a Georgian, my family is a Georgian family which migrated from Batumi to Rize." However, in a 2014 televised interview on the NTV news network, he said, "You wouldn't believe the things they have said about me. They have said I am Georgian...even with much uglier things, they have called me Armenian, but I am Turkish."

it became clear to me in 2014 that he and the people behind him are jews and turkey is run by jews, but because its a muslim state they hide behind false identeties, when i saw on european tv, that turkey built the second largest synagoge and how turkey is praising its jew population

http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/europes-second-biggest-synagogue-turns-into-cultural-center-after-restoration-in-turkey.aspx?pageID=238&nid=49721

i know that a non-jew turkish leadersip/a real turkish leadership would never allow this to happen

raising jews in your country is the same as destroying your childrens future and chance to lead the country

jews will take over media, majaor important key positions, trade and business cooperations etc and jin politics

its comparable to let in criminal robbers in your home over night and say to them here the keys please dont rob me while im sleeping

also questions like why turkey is a member of nato

why do they want to join eu? joining eu = lose independence and control

+being member of nato = not independent/being ruled by someone else and obey his orders

nato and eu are 100% postwar jewish creations from anglo zionists from usa to eastablish the control over the west and central european area

if turkey as non jew ruled state would join them, they would lose influence a but if they are run by jews only then they would actually gain influence and profit from actions
