Active Shooter Barricaded At Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood, Multiple People Shot
If there are two things that could unleash progressive hell across the nation, it is the combination of "active shooter" and "Planned Parenthood" in the same sentence, which is exactly what happened moments ago.
Moments ago the Colorado Springs police responded to a call of an active shooter in the parking lot of a Planned Parenthood clinic, adding that the area has not been secured, the department said, warning the media not to stage in the area.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department said fire crews were called in to assist for reports of a possible active shooter and fire at the Planned Parenthood address at 3480 Centennial Boulevard.
According to Twitter reports, the shooter has shot one officer shot and is currently "barricaded in planned parenthood & multiple victims."
The Gazette adds that according to the police scanner, at least 4 are injured in the ongoing active shooting situation and that multiple people have been shot.
The shooter has been described as a white male, 40 yrs. of age, with a black coat, wearing a hat with flaps.

I was in my late teens in the late 80's. The PP clinic in my small city (60k) did not preform abortions, just contraceptives and pelvic exams on a sliding scale. Overtime I drove 3 women I knew there to get on the pill, only one was a girlfriend, the others just friends who knew I had a car and was willing to help out. All 3 of these gals in their late teens as I was. Anyway.... My point being that PP prevents far more abortions than it performs. Young sexually active women have access to birth control on a sliding scale they can afford. Im not talking about abortions, that's a whole nother topic. I am glad it was there for these friends and I am sure it prevented pregnancies. As we can read down thread there are many who have nothing but contempt for PP and their recent actions are abhorrent. But I honestly believe unwanted pregnancies are prevented due to their services with contoception and I am glad that exists for young women. If anyone is so right wing as to be against birth control then they are not living in reality. Sorry for the rant. PS. I am not a commie, socialist, libtard or any other name so many here like to call, I live in the real world and it is not always pretty, often time it involves harm reduction. I am glad I didn't father a child at 17 although I alway slapped one on just in case, but I was more cautious then most teens.

The state of Texas does not pay for abortions through Medicaid or other state programs except for very narrow circumstances (dire risk to mother's life, rape, incest). A year or two ago, Texas cut funding for other women's services through PP and directed resources to other providers.

I'm gonna go on the record here and say I believe Colorado will be solidly blue this election cycle. I hope I am wrong but I don't think so. Living here and watching the speedy and extrordinary change that has taken this State is both fascinating and terrifying at the same time.
