Unlike on previous occasions when Mark Dice either mocks the stupidity of Americans for having zero clue about the true worth of precious metals, or mocks the stupidity of Americans for having absolutely no understanding of politics (yet supporting Hillary Clinton among others), in his latest clip, the notorious lampooner takes a stroll at 4:30 pm on Thanksgiving night in front of the Best Buy in San Diego where he finds a massive line.
What follows is Mark, armed with just a bullhorn, taking on several hundred consumption zombies waiting in line at Best Buy, armed with just their overdrawn credit cards, or as he calls them "enemies of America. A symptom of this failed country. When this country is bankrupt, and it will be soon, you look in the mirror and that's who you blame."
Number of zombies impacted by his preaching? Zero. Why, because there is a TV for $99.95 to be bought proving the hedonically-adjusted deflationary wave sweeping the world is "all too real" and only much more QE and far more negative rates, making the merely billionaires into trillionaires, can save the global economy.

Never been out to snap up those "deals" on African-American Friday. Did buy a new dishwaser today, but I waited until 5 PM before I left for the store.
I hate to say it but if you need an appliance - Black Friday is usually a good time because almost no one is buying a washer and dryer today. They practically are giving away white appliances on Black Friday. Is that racist? I think GE sells their shit at almost cost at places like Home Depot today.

I spent all day sanding my old pickup and spraying it with gray primer. 10 hours. The last two weeks have been spent dissassembling and sanding.
Today is paint day. Very exciting for a truck I've owned for 10 years that has always been 'rust colored' and not a factory paint code.
I did spend some money though, for sandpaper, primer, and new paint. That's the extent of my Xmas shopping. $180. Industrial enamel for the win!

Although I generally try to spread out my spending, I did take advantage of sales today (I'm in Canada so it's not really a holiday, generally don't shop on holidays and in my province we've only had stores open on holidays for a few years now). Darn Tough socks for work (Made in USA and guaranteed for life), some long johns, and a few things I need for the camp and gathering firewood. Pretty practical stuff, and I can see how people get driven into the spending spree. But blocks of people lined up at Best Buy? I guess there's a Coliseum in every living room.

I still have a Georgetown Jumper with a bulldog on it that was purchased over 10 years ago and still going strong. Also a California Angels jacket (Don't blame me - the ex bought that one) that's 15 years old. My Levis still last longer than cheap jeans - so it seems textilewise the USA can still produce decent stuff.
That and 4x4's. My 2003 WJ Grand Cherokee - yep back before they got rid of live front and rear axles - still holds up against the Land Cruisers and Patrols unless they have diff lockers. I also had an XJ cherokee that copped a beating and kept on going... only complaint is persistant small quality control issues like blowing tail lights or indicator lights *way* to often (there's an electrical fault somewhere).

Wow!! $198.00 for a pair of Levi's. I can buy 15-20 pair of Chinese jeans at Walmart. I was able to buy Levi's in the late '60s for $3.50. Most of the items I bought back then are now 10 times the 1960's price, that would mean that Levi's should be about $35.00. So what idiot would pay $198.00 for a pair of what are basically jeans?
