Are These The Tankers Bilal Erdogan Uses To Transport ISIS Oil?

Tyler Durden's picture

Regular readers are by now well acquainted with Bilal Erdogan, the son of Turkish autocrat Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Although Erdogan senior masquerades as President of a democratic society, he is in reality a despot who just weeks ago, capped off a four-month effort to nullify an undesirable ballot box outcome by scaring the electorate into throwing more support behind the ruling AKP in a do-over vote designed specifically to undermine the pro-Kurdish HDP, which put up a strong showing in the last round of elections, held in June.

As the world’s interest in Islamic State’s illicit oil trade has grown over the past 60 or so days, so too has the scrutiny on how the group gets its stolen crude to market. In the seven days since Turkey shot down a Russian Su-24 near the Syrian border, Moscow has done its best to focus the world’s collective attention on the connection between ISIS and Turkey. It’s common knowledge among those who pay attention to such things that Ankara is part of an alliance that includes Riyadh, Doha, and Washington whose collective goal is to fund and arm the Syrian opposition. What’s up for debate is the extent to which that alliance supports ISIS and, to a lesser extent, al-Nusra.

Earlier today, Vladimir Putin explicitly accused Ankara of attempting to protect ISIS oil routes by shooting down Russian warplanes which have destroyed hundreds of Islamic State oil trucks in November.

Erdogan of course denies the allegations, but as we’ve shown, it would be very easy for Turkish smugglers to commingle ISIS and KRG crude (which, by the way, is also technically illegal), effectively using Kurdish oil to mask Turkey’s participation in the Islamic State oil trade.

Some contend that Bilal Erdogan’s marine transport company BMZ Group (which owns a Maltese shipping company) is involved in trafficking ISIS oil (see our full account here).

Here’s what Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoub said on Friday:

“All of the oil was delivered to a company that belongs to the son of Recep [Tayyip] Erdogan. This is why Turkey became anxious when Russia began delivering airstrikes against the IS infrastructure and destroyed more than 500 trucks with oil already. This really got on Erdogan and his company’s nerves. They’re importing not only oil, but wheat and historic artefacts as well."

While we’ve yet to come across conclusive evidence of Bilal’s connection to ISIS, we would note that the Turkish port of Ceyhan is state-run and given Turkey’s extensive experience in smuggling KRG crude, it seems entirely fair to suggest that sneaking in 40,000 or so barrels of ISIS oil each day wouldn’t be that difficult a task. Indeed, given that Kurdish oil is, like ISIS crude, technically undocumented, Turkey will always have plausible deniability on its side (unless of course the oil is being moved into the country straight from Syria which is what Putin seems to be suggesting).

In any event, if Bilal Erdogan is in fact engaged in the trafficking of stolen crude (and take it from us, Baghdad will tell you that Kurdish crude sold independently of SOMO is every bit as illegal as Islamic State oil) it’s probably worth tracking BMZ Group’s fleet. Here’s a list of ships that Turkish or other regional media have at one time or another confirmed belong to Bilal:

Mecid Aslanov

 Begim Aslanova

Poet Qabil

Armada Breeze

Shovket Alekperova

You can track them all, free of charge at MarineTraffic.com:

Just don't let Erdogan senior catch you monitoring his son's fleet or you, like Can Dündar, editor in chief of Cumhuriyet, and Erdem Gül, the newspaper’s capital correspondent in Ankara, could end up sitting in a Turkish jail for 100 + 42 years.

Have we forgotten Ahmet Burak Erdogan, the eldest son. Ahmet also owns a shipping company, MB Shipping, out of Northern Cyprus. This company has been a accused of violating an economic embargo with Israel. The Umit G, a general cargo ship, sails under a Turkish flag and can be retrofitted to transport oil.

https://www.vesselfinder.com/ship-photos/41582?s=1

"Ahmet Burak Erdogan, the son of the Turkish prime minister, has bought a sixth vessel for the shipping company that he co-founded with a partner, daily Sözcü reported on Nov. 9.

The new Malta-flagged cargo ship "Pretty" can carry over 91,000 tons and has almost the same capacity as the company's five other vessels together, the report claimed.

The firm of Erdogan's eldest son, MB Denizcilik (Shipping), owns five other ships, Safran 1 (name changed to Umit G), Sakarya, G. One bolu, Cihan and Bossa, which have a total capacity of around 92,000 tons, according to the report."

http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/Default.aspx?pageID=517&nid=57656

"Pretty" is a multi-purpose bulk carrier that can transport oil without a retrofit.

Umit G sails frequently to Israel and Ukraine.

Yes.  But consider what the intelligence agencies of the world understand.  They certainly assume 9/11 was the false flag that it was.  Their thinking must be far ahead of the average citizen here in the US.

https://thinkpatriot.wordpress.com/2015/11/30/the-next-false-flag/

Russia, Germany, France, ... all know it was a false flag.  Italian somebody was so indiscrete as to say so, also saw some other prominent European say so, rubes.

Their leaders all know it.  Our leaders know it if they want to.  We people are pretty convinced, anyone who cares about reality.

I do not know what to think, except that there are a lot of people in governments around the world worried about their necks in nooses, making it an unstable situation.  An interesting aspect of the Mutual Gonad Clutcher's Association.

In this climate of ubiquitous armchair generals, I'm astonished that someone came up with a common sense answer.

Are you some kind of freak?  You certainly are atypical.

Freak? Yes, but luckily the numbers of us grow each day. Being born in the mid 60s, I usually refer to our generation as "Cold War Kids", you know, we had the drills at school, where we were supposed to get under the desks, hide from the flash, and kiss our asses goodbye.

Many of us never expected to see the age of 30 (and we damn sure lived that way). We were taught that we'd be soldiers fighting the USSR. FFS

Oddly enough, a series of dreams (three) that I had in the mid 80s, introduced me to the "False Flag" before I ever even heard or read the word. I've been buying ammo since the day of the 2nd dream.

I regret not having written them down immediately, as they would have made one helluva mini-series, but, they are still trapped in the grey matter.

Good day to ya,

BT

In response to the first comment in this thread about Russia blowing the tankers up with cruise missiles:

I knew it, I saw the title of the article and the first thought that came to mind, is that the armchair general apes would want to spend a million dollar cuise missile to destroy each one.  I KNEW IT!!  It is the most kneejerk, reflexive reaction from the idiots that can only think of blowing shit up as a solution to every problem.

Always count on armchair generals to supply the requisite chorus thereby giving Uncle Fraud the green light to waste money in the most efficient method possible.  (if it wasn't asking for Russia to do it, we would have to fill the bill naturally)

For the people that aren't braindead zombies, figure this type of clue into your calculations FOR EVERYTHING!

Teh finn / yomutti / dsty spend a great deal of time whining and complaining about a small (relatively) econ blog not regurgitating the pack of lies currently dominant and inescapable in the Zionist controlled media.

Its one thing to call someone a troll who trolls. Quite another to perpetually whine about every article or group of commenters who simply disagree with the war propaganda.

Perhaps it is best for us not to feed them going forward - all but tarabel and blankone seem quite ignorant and unable to post thoughtful analysis at all. I disagree with tarabel a lot and actually blankonehalf the time but they do contribute and do try to argue their positions - which is all we can really ask of people.

The US can't target them though due to the risk to the environment.  If they are going to kill every whale in the area the prefer to do it with sonar as their death is much quicker that way.  It's all about saving the world, it's a morality once you understand it.

As I read it, according to traditional international law, the Russian Federation may legally seize Erdogan's Maltese-flagged "neutral" tankers carrying ISIS' crude oil, because that crude oil constitutes a significant portion of ISIS' war making potential, that tanker then effectively constituting an enemy merchant vessel, with the tanker's subsequent condemnation in Russian prize courts, as the capturing belligerent power.

You're right but bear in mind that the us and nato show no indication of respecting such law at all.

Nato wants an excuse to get turkey to close the straits which will be a direct act of war, and yet another effort to start a 3rd world war mainly involving Europeans and Christians killing each other, and muslims, in large numbers - and mostly for us and israeli hegemony.

Why the big deal with Pollard?

"What's the big deal with Jonathan Pollard passing secret military intelligence to America's Closest Ally? Admittedly it seems there was some really serious stuff in there, including the deployment positions of American nuclear subs in the event of a war with the USSR. Details which the Israelis immediately traded with the Russkies in exchange for allowing more Jews emigrate to Israel. And at a stroke nullifying the whole American submarine-based ICBM capability. The Israelis also sold the most advanced AWACS system to Red China, thereby almost eliminating American first strike capabilities.

But hey, that's what friends are for."

It's all in the Bible  -(or at least Scofield's commentary and interpretation) We need to establish Greater Israel and bring on Armegeddon  -so jesus can return. Apparently it is God's will that when he destroys the World  -the US gets leveled first. So when the Jews sold the secrets to Russia, they were just fulfilling Biblical prophecy and doing the Lord's work. We should all be happy that they continue to assume this burden  -It is God's will. Lloyd Blankfein and Goldman sachs reminded us just a couple of years ago, that they continue to do their part.

The day he was released, his Jewish handlers were seeking to get the conditions of his release overturned so he could leave New York and 'go home' to Israel.

Israel always puts Israel first. Strangely enough, it is a crime for the US to put the US first.

Turkish people should now rise and rout erDOGans , throw them into jail , or worse, hang them in public.

Why not just arrest the tankers and run a fresh SGS report on their contents?  That will show where any crude has been extracted from.

Presumably these guys:

http://www.sgs.com/en/Oil-Gas/Downstream/Refining-Processing-and-Supply/...

"SGS is your first port of call for testing and inspection services for the whole range of petrochemicals
...
Our trade inspections of oil, gas and chemical cargoes are always conducted on the basis of  accepted core petroleum and petrochemical standards
...
We also provide the more traditional determinations of basic physical parameters such as distillation, density, acidity and color
...
We provide analysis for all petrochemicals on demand. Our labs analyze petrochemical samples from:

  • Refineries
  • Storage facilities
  • Storage tanks
  • Small-scale storage, such as drums and ISO tanks"

Thanks. Does each source have a unique fingerprint (marker) that makes it distinguishable from other sources of the same product? What happens when products from multiple sources are mixed (the case being suggested here)? Can relative volumes of the mix be determined?

My assumption would be "no". There is no valid unique fingerprint revealing source. Even if there was, that fingerprint would be hopelessly obscured (contaminated) with the mixing of sources. Unless something is detectable at the molecular level I doubt relative volumes from multiple sources can be determined.

Information at your link does not lead me to believe otherwise. It just seems to be able to assure customers if they order a certain product, that certain product is in the shipment.

Thus, the link seems immaterial for determining the source of the product ... which is what this is all about.
