Chairman of U.S. House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee: “Either [Turkey] Shouldn’t Be in NATO or We Shouldn’t”
Congressman Dana Rohrabacher - Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats - wrote last week:
Not radical Islam, but the Russians have been portrayed to us as the villains in this chapter of history. Yet our government demonstrates a lack of will, incompetence, or both, in confronting the most monstrous of the radical Islamic marauders now spilling vast quantities of innocent blood in the Middle East – as well as in Africa and France.
When Russia courageously stepped into the breach we should have been applauding its willingness to confront ISIS. Instead, we continue to denigrate Russians as if they were still the Soviet Union and Putin, not Islamic terrorists, our most vicious enemy.
So now we see the travesty of a harsh condemnation of the Russians for introducing air strikes against terrorists who will murder Americans if they get the chance.
Yes, Russia does this to protect Syria’s authoritarian Assad regime, which has close ties to Moscow. So what?
Assad, like Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, is no threat to the United States or the Western world. If Assad is forced out of power he will eventually be replaced by an Islamic terrorist committed to raining down mayhem on Western countries.
Today we witness the spectacle of American decision- makers, in and out of the Obama administration, joining forces with a Turkish regime that grows more supportive of the radical Islamist movement. There is ample evidence of President Erdogan’s complicity in ISIS’s murderous rampage through Syria and Iraq.
Yet, we hold our public rebukes for the Russians, who are battling those terrorists. A Russian plane on an anti-terrorist mission did violate Turkish airspace, just as Turkish planes have strayed into Greek airspace hundreds of times over the last year. This overflight was no threat to Turkey. Still, it was shot down, as was a Russian helicopter on the way to rescue the downed Russian pilot.
Why do Americans feel compelled to kick Russia in the teeth? Russia’s military is attacking an enemy that would do us harm. Why ignore the hostile pro-terrorist maneuvering of Turkish strongman Erdogan?
President Obama is wrong. American politicians who try to sound tough at Russia’s expense in this case are not watching out for the long-term interests of the United States by undermining those fighting our primary enemy, Islamic terrorists.
Russia should be applauded. Instead, it is being castigated for doing what our government is unwilling to do to confront the terrorist offensive now butchering innocent human beings from Africa, to the Middle East, to the streets of Paris.
If being in NATO means protecting Erdogan in this situation, either he shouldn’t be in NATO or we shouldn’t.
Rohrabacher is actually 100% right on this one ...

The complaint, for all those years was that there was a lack of a nation for the jews. Jews were forced to disperse to other nations and being non-christian foreigners, they were able to take up professions which the locals couldn't due to religious reasons. They were also pressed into service as tax collectors and other occupations which were scapegoated for centuries. Any time a king or ruler decided to, they would be expelled and forced to leave their entire lives behind with zero compensation... or just rounded up and murdered.
Hitler didn't like them because they wouldn't assimilate fully and cultural elements would continue to show up down the line, even amongst the converts.

This comment is as racist as the ones that say all Jews are evil. It's ridiculous. Here's te real world. Elites are forced by necessity to form alliances to leverage greater and greater power. Often these alliances fall along ethnic, cultural or religious lines because it is easier to convince one another of common cause (I'm leaving true believers and ideologues out of this for now) due to this English elites tend to work better with their fellow English elites etc. likewise with Jewish elites.
Just like all religions and all cultural groups, since time immemorial, elites have done nasty things to maintain or increase power. This is true of Anglo-Saxon elites, Chinese elites, Muslim elites and Jewish elites. That's it.
There is no essentialism to any of this. Now with that said idealogies that hold that one group is naturally superior to another should be openly criticized whether it comes from a Muslim imam, an English eugenicist circa 1920, or a Talmudic rabbi. I don't care who is saying it, that kind of ideaology has always been dangerous.
What is unfortunate for open conversation and for the average decent Jewish person, is that some Jewish elites who have nasty designs, have hidden behind the horrors of the holocaust and trot out anti-semitism whenever someone calls them into account. I've seen Obama use racism to deflect similar criticisms as has Hilliary with sexism.
Just because nasty elites whether brown, white, female, Jewish or Muslim use racism, sexism and anti-semitism as a shield doesn't mean that those idealogies they are claiming are the reason for criticism (racism, sexism, anti-semitism) don't exist, they do and also need to be watched for and criticized.
What we need is open discussion and free market of ideas where there is criticism of individuals and entities (IMF, NATO, AIPAC etc.) and critiques of their abuses of power.
Giving all Jews a pass due to historical injustices is just as bad as those who condemn all Jews also based on historical injustices wrought by primarily Jewish elites (Palestine) the overwhelming majority of regular people want to love in peace, have productive work that has a living wage and to raise their families have community and express themselves.
It is a tiny elite across many races and cultures who have a desire to dominate others that are the problem. The word is psychopath with a good dose of sociopathy. A lot of that is totally valid man. Fact is, I know a lot of Jewish people that fight for the rights of others and give to their community in amazing fashion.
Now the Talmudic religion, as opposed to the race/ethnic/cultural group, is indeed quite scary for the reasons you mention. Once again, this is primarily a matter of elites vs non-elites.
I worry for my friends who are Jewish who are truly good people (almost all of them are secular Jews or follow other religions as it happens) if ever the sort of thinking that ALL jews are bad gets back in power. I worry about Muslims being treated to a Holocaust as well. I even worry that Dogmatic Atheists of a millitant version of the shit that Richard Dawkins spews should ever take hold and perhaps round up and kill ALL religious or spiritual people. I worry a global Caliphate could indeed emerge and Wahabbist Islam orders all to be converted on pain of death.
The thing all these scenarios have in common is where entire groups of people are painted with one brush stroke. Lots of the stuff I see on here that are "Jewish" conspiracy theories should really be "Jewish Elite" conspiracy theories. That would carry a lot more weight with me. For example, the term Zionist tends to catch most, but not all of the Jewish elite that are dangerous. There are some wholly secular Jews who are fantastically wealthy and do terrible things. Just as there are Jews who are at the forefront of helping humanity, some even wealthy. I don't doubt for a second about the plans for Greater Israel, the Sampson option, the horrors of certain Talmudic teachings. Those all seem to be verifiably true.

No, no I definitely think ideology is a huge problem! I merely left it out of part of what I was saying and came back to it later. Some of The Old Testament, the Talmud and the Quran is frightening if taken literally or worse as a command from god.
Of course religion is by and large a control mechanism used by the elites. Some historians say elites began with the temples and priesthood.
On the other hand spirituality and spiritual teachers are often deeply enriching to people's lives and help to increase compassion and forgiveness both of which are critical if our species is to evolve and reconcile it's collective past.
I personally feel that of the three Abrahamic faiths Christianity if we go only by the teachings of Jesus - and not the monstrosity that is the Old Testament - is the most peaceful of the three. Of course the history of Christianity is every bit as bloody as the other two due to the inclusion of the OT and the ruthless manipulation of the commoners by the elites for geo-political goals.

NATO is an obsolete system created by the obsolete ideology of Communism.
It should be replaced by a European peoples defense treaty instead. No non-Europeans allowed. Because it amazes me that every other ethnicity has it's own political organization of this nature, but the Europeans have to suffer under the guise of some vague non-defined anti-European system.
