ISIS Oil Plot Thickens: Turkish MP Has Evidence Erdogan's Son-In-Law Involved In Illegal Crude Trade

Tyler Durden's picture

On Thursday, Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu said the following about Russia’s allegations that Turkey and more specifically, President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and his family, are involved in the trafficking of illegal ISIS crude:

"In the Cold War period there was a Soviet propaganda machine. Every day it created different lies. Firstly they would believe them and then expect the world to believe them. These were remembered as Pravda lies and nonsense. This was an old tradition but it has suddenly reared its head again. Nobody attaches any value to the lies of this Soviet-style propaganda machine.”

As we went on to note, Davutoglu’s assessment isn’t exactly correct. Quite a few people “attach value” to Moscow’s allegations, not the least of which are the authorities in Baghdad, from whom Turkey is effectively stealing not only by facilitating the trafficking of ISIS oil, but also by piping over 600,000 b/d from Kurdistan to Ceyhan.

In fact, Iraq is so agitated that they’re set to ask the Security Council to investigate the situation and brand anyone found to be involved “criminals.”

Of course the thing about being an autocrat - and that’s most certainly what Erdogan is despite the West’s ridiculous contention that Turkey is a democracy - is that you make a whole lot enemies in your own country and while you can suppress dissent with force, eventually it all catches up to you and between Russia’s accusations and opposition political parties still stinging from AKP’s move to nullify June’s election outcome by starting a civil war and calling for snap elections, Erdogan may be in trouble.

Underscoring that contention is CHP lawmaker Eren Erdem who says he, like Moscow, will soon provide proof of Erdogan’s role in the smuggling of Islamic State oil. "I have been able to establish that there is a very high probability that Berat Albayrak is linked to the supply of oil by the Daesh terrorists,” Erdem said at a press conference on Thursday (see more from Sputnik).

Berat Albayrak is Erodan’s son-in-law and is Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.

(Berat Albayrak)

Erdem isn’t the only person to mention Albayrak this week. Recall that in his opening remarks at the dramatic Russian MoD presentation on Wednesday Deputy Minister of Defence Anatoly Antonov said the following:

"No one in the West, I wonder, does not cause the issue that the son of the President of Turkey is the leader of one of the largest energy companies, and son-in-appointed Minister of Energy? What a brilliant family business!"

"There is one company, headquartered in Erbil, which in 2012 acquired oil tankers, and which is currently being bombarded by Russian aircraft,” Erdem said. “I am now studying this company's records. It has partners in Turkey, and I am checking them for links to Albayrak."

(Erdem)

Note that this is entirely consistent with what we said last week, namely that in some cases, ISIS takes advantage of the Kurdish oil transport routes, connections, and infrastructure in Turkey. It will certianly be interesting to see if there's a connection between Albayrak, the energy ministry, and Bilal Erdogan's BMZ Group.

If you know anything about Erdogan, you know that he doesn’t take kindly to this kind of thing and as Erdem goes on to recount, he’s already been the subject of a smear campaign:

"Today, the Takvim newspaper called me an American puppet, an Israeli agent, a supporter of the [Kurdish] PKK, and the instigator of a coup…all in the same sentence. I am inclined to view this attack on me as an attempt to belittle my significance, to attack my reputation in the eyes in the public, given that my investigation is a real threat to the government. Such a sharply negative reaction suggests that my assumptions are fair, and I am moving in the right direction to find the truth."

The lawmaker says that type of attack has “only convinced [him] further on the need to carry this investigation through to the end."

In the meantime, we can only hope that, for the sake of exposing the truth, “the end” doesn’t end up being a Turkish jail cell, or worse for Erdem.

Actually, I don't see anyone being gullible, except for the people who won't look at the 9/11 evidence, and that is more fear than gullibility 14 years after the event.

Indeed, Putin was a KGB guy.  Does it mean he can't play a good hand honestly, when he wins more that way?

Putin isn't providing nearly all of the info he could.  Remember MH17? How about all of the other Neuland intercepts?

Putin is not trusted, he gives us the information for us to judge.  These aren't empty accusations, Russia backs them up with documentation.

I notice you didn't try to deal with that, just made that silly "Turned it into an I Love Putin page".  We respect Putin because he is doing what needed done, and is improving things by defeating out country's criminals, our Israeli-Neocons.  That is good for me, and so I smile upon the man who is doing me that favor, and thank him.  Don't love him, just respect a professional doing his job well.

He could play good hand honestly and I think he had been for a long time. But when turkey rejected to be russias watchdog in middleeast and get close to EU and US this July ( letting US to use incirlik base ) than disinformation began.

About the MH17 and all other subjects I agree with you, they seem to be more honest and accurate compared to West. But this latest move of Turkey must made russians very very mad because the amount of disinformation is actually funny. One must be very gullible to belive that a graphic map with couple of arrows pointing turkey from nort syria is a 'proof' of oil smuggling.. I mean come on. If that is proof I can do same with longer arrows pointing russia. Does that also prove putin-isis alliance?

Truth is the only strong Nato country that doesnt participate the US led sanction on Russia is Turkey. That made putin very glad that they came up with turkish stream project and bunch of other things. They thought they won an ally, but the thing is Turkey cannot turn her back to EU or US like nothing happened, of course eventually she got closer to her natural allies. Now what is with this emotional bursts of putin and russia against Turkey? They act like a mad cow, ban fruits, sending back turkish students, arresting turkish businessman.. These are act of weakness. Russia will suffer a lot more than Turkey does.

Despite the Ukraine mass on north, wars in south, and the bankrupt greece on west, Turkey still manages to grow 3-4 even 5% anually. Turkey has solid rock economy compared to russia who shrank 5% this year?

"the amount of disinformation is actually funny"

This is the exact reason Russia seems more believable (at least to me, let me not speak on behalf of others).

Switch to any mainstream media channel, honestly, take your pick, pick multiple. You get 24/7 unrelenting bombardment of the Russian boogieman and it honestly fills your tolerance level so fast the BS meter just explodes and you want to puke it all out before it rots your brain.

The simple fact that the US feels it necessary to repeat their agenda (however incoherent or illogical) so often makes me believe Russia is on to something here.

Then factor in the US allies/lapdogs and it really does seem more sinister without too much imagination, I've witnessed the protests against UK action in Syria first hand, and I'm 150% convinced the public are against it, they made it very clear. Yet in the farce of a debate in the UK parliament one paid for politician after the other toes the US line and hey presto, more bombs in Syria despite the fact that the only bombs to date that had any measurable negative effect on the extremists are from the boogieman Russia.

The pièce de résistance is the official US response to Russian allegations (backed by at least something other than words) which is "we believe Turkey because they're a trusted NATO ally".

W-T-F?!? wake up people!

The US government and 95% of the media and political parties are part and parcel of the US Ministry of Propaganda. All countries have their national agendas that they promote. The Soviet Union was a complete totalitarian State.

The Russian were naive.  They believed all the NATO propaganda in the 1980s, opened up, and got royally hosed in the 1990s.  People learn from pain.  Russians are people and they've had a lot of pain.

The US has not had pain for quite a long time.  Perhaps the US has become naive in a reverse cycle.

Not naive, but certainly disorganized == relatively weakened.

Russia had a contest gov vs oligarchs, who will win.  Gov won in Russia, oligarchs have won here.  See why Russia became the big enemy?

I was going to use the following to back that up, but re-reading it, it is an early understanding that

" our socio-econo-political system does not have an effective control for this self-destroying aspect of our national control system.  Everyone at the top must see that as clearly as we here in the 99% do."

As do the Israeli-neocons, who intend the destruction because they cannot allow normal political processes.

Assad regime showing clear signs of distress. Russia moves in with military aid and begins attacking ISIS oil supply routes. Turkey shoots down a Russian airplane. Russia loudly accuses Turkey of supporting ISIS and installs S-400 air defence system in Syria. Things seem to be escalating quickly.

With Russian support, Assad can very likely survive forever, defeating Saudi/Turkish/NATO/ISIS plans to oust him. So what is next?

Will Turkey close the bosphorus to Russian traffic, making it difficult for them to ssupport Assad? That would seem to be the next logcal step. Or will Turkey march into Syria to "liberate" it from Russian occupation? After all, Syria was part of the Ottoman empire for a long time and NATO would probably rather have Turkey running Syria than ISIS.

Stay tuned, folks! And make sure your fallout shelters are well stocked.

The Bosphorus and Dardanelles crap is already over.  Erdogan tried a little stunt and Putin sent a message.

So did this really happen and how was this resolved? Joanne Leon asked that question today and two answers from knowledgeable people were offered:

Elijah J. Magnier ‏@EjmAlrai
Turkey mentioned it and sent 2 submarines. Russia said "Turkey can't do it" and sent 2 submarines hunters

and

Dr Shahid @DR_SHAHID
Yup.
Russia Threatened To Nuke Ankara.
Problem Solved.

Hmm ... I am not sure we know if the issue was really resolved with a nuclear threat or by some lesser means. But as no further ships were reported delayed the crisis seems to be over and Russia got its way

Words matter in ‘ISIS’ war, so use ‘Daesh’

The term “Daesh” is strategically a better choice because it is still accurate in that it spells out the acronym of the group’s full Arabic name, al-Dawla al-Islamiya fi al-Iraq wa al-Sham. Yet, at the same time, “Daesh” can also be understood as a play on words — and an insult. Depending on how it is conjugated in Arabic, it can mean anything from “to trample down and crush” to “a bigot who imposes his view on others.” Already, the group has reportedly threatened to cut out the tongues of anyone who uses the term.

Reclaiming the Goddess: Stop Using the Name ISIS to Describe a Bunch of Ignorant, Murderous F**ktards

So here's the solution. It's one that has already become official in many quarters: call them Daesh (or Da'ish). The word - originally coined by Syrian activists, but now in official usage in France, Australia, and by others such as John Kerry - is an acronym that accurately reflects the group's chosen name, 'ad-Dawlah al-Isl?miyah f? 'l-?Ir?q wa-sh-Sh?m'. But Daesh are apparently furious about it, with reports that they have threatened to cut out the tongues of anyone who uses it.

"..Eren Erdem who says he, like Moscow, will soon provide proof of Erdogan’s role in the smuggling of Islamic State oil."

Considering what has been happening to Turkey's patriots as of late this guy has some serious nads.  It will be easy to charge him with treason as he is coming out with this information alongside Russia.  They will probably draw and quarter his ass... things are going feudal.  Expecting Prima Noctae to be declared any minute.

Not really you are wrong. You would be surprise how much free speech people have in Turkey. You can literally say anything about anyone, nothing happens at all. Maybe even too much.

The SICK Wahhabist Literature sponsored by the Saudomites and allowed to permeate and meander throughout the UK by the British Government flies in the face of Cameron's Faux War on Terror.

The Corruption at the heart of the British Government whereby MP's and GCHQ receive financial incentives from the House of Saud to allow this spread of hate and indoctrination of the Muslim Youth is mind-warping; and YES the Royal House of Windsor is a Big Beneficiary.

Furthermore Obama and ErDOGan are one of the same SERVANTS in jailing Whistleblowers at the behest of AIPAC/SAUD/QATAR/NATO & Assorted BankCorp Filth.

everything erdogan does is straight out ot the machiavelli playbook.  he believes that the public has an attention span of 5 minutes and his (yawn) dramatic resignation speech earlier in the week was for those fools.  he manipulates his press almost as well as merkel cameron obama et all so he will have no problem steering the story when push (under the bus) comes to shove. he can hunker in his billion dollar water palace.  but he pissed off putin.  bad move.  he should have just accepted his son's dirty business loss and moved on. now hes fighting a titan.
