Lynch is a bitch.

And how many people on here know that feeling that you get when somebody pisses you off so bad that if they were within arms reach, they would get punched without you first taking the time to think about it?  I got that feeling the other day watching some fuckwit senator talk about the new AWB bill that he had introduced.  I wanted to smash his face in so bad, and I know that I'm not the only person in this country having these feelings.

A message to the government:  Not another fucking inch.  Quit fucking with our civil liberties, or we will take them back by force.

The Tree of Liberty needs watering.

And, not with the blood of patriots, either.

Natural selection favors the patriots, at the expense of those who would extinguish freedom, liberty, and the Republic of the USA.

So, bring it on, so the world can clearly see where you stand as an individual. For the abomination of the modern State, or for life, liberty, the pursuit of property, and the pursuit of happiness.

Taxation without representation created this country originally, and it can re-create this country once again just as easily.

But you see that is how evil works. The law will be passed (totally unconstitutional) and then get passed to the bureaucracy which will mindlessly enforce it because that is what a bureaucracy does.

It won't be a bunch of left wing libtards coming to take your gun (hell you wouldn't need a gun to deal with that bunch). No it will be heavily armed group of law enforcement professionals "just doing their job".

Of course after 10 years of confiscation the law will be finally ruled unconstitutional at a high enough level to overturn it but by then they will have taken most of the guns. And that is only IF the supreme court isn't going along with it like all the other unconstitutional crap they let go on.

So do you engage in a firefight against a heavily armed and massively outnumbering force?

The only hope would be if enough of the law enforcement officers said "no, that's not constitutional and I swore to uphold it". That has happened in some instances but not many. Most will just go along for the ride and collect their paycheck.

Lots of cops won't take guns from citizens.

New York state is the testing ground with the ridiculous SAFE act. The law called for the State Police to set up a database for ammo purchases. State troopers said, "thanks, governor, but we have better things to do."

That part of the law went bye bye without so much as a whimper from the governor or the fucking, lying, shithead press.

Last year, anybody with an assault weapon was supposed to register it. VFWs and other like-minded groups quietly huddled together and the memberships all agree NOT to register. Word spread quickly thoughout the state's gun owners via various ad hoc support groups and some well-established ones.

The result is that the percentage of "supposed" AW owners wjo complied with the law is somewhere between 3 and 8 percent.

Then there's the sheriff of Ulster county (about 75 miles north and west of NYC) who urged all licensed handgun owners to CARRY.

The cops - the good ones, at least - won't do the bidding of the most corrupt government on the planet.

>>>The cops - the good ones, at least - won't do the bidding of the most corrupt government on the planet.

This is why you want to maintain contact with the LEO community (even if you'd kinda rather not). There's a lot of ZH police-bashing, and a good deal of it (re high profile killings, asset seizures etc.) is deserved.  HOWEVER, depending upon your own location, there are a lot of reasonable LEOs out there.

None of us knows the future, but having the local constabulary think of you as one of the good guys can't hurt and, in the larger scale of things, could turn out to be very, very important.  When civil disturbances move toward revolution, things almost always come down to one single, key point:  will the military and police fire on the citizens?  Perhaps I'm being naive (since I had cop friends when I lived in a small city in the Intermountain West), but having acquaintances among LEOs will almost never be a net negative, and it might be a big positive.

ADDENDUM:  The USA does indeed qualify as the most corrupt country on the planet, but mostly because of its size, and reserve-currency status. On a population-adusted basis, there are plenty of countries with a higher level of corruption (e.g. Zaire, Kosovo, Australia).

I finally realized the simple truth that I felt much safer around people "carrying" than around Cops or sheep. And so I carry too  Don't give up. There are people capable of being educated. Nanny Moose.

The United States is a state of mind, put to paper, as the Constitution of The United States of America.

USA IS A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.

And, I don't man politics, or the political system currently in place

Democrats and Republicans of this day and age are the inbred, uneducated, unwashed pigs living in the trailer trash park remaining of their forefather's political heritage.

So, no indeed, the Constitution is not statist - it is the lawful enshrinement of the rights of the free individual as paramount to the needs of the country, past, present, and future.

iT PROTECTS THE INDIVIDUAL, THEIR RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS AS INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Constitution. How quaint. Words on paper convey an idea, but your RTBA is granted only by your life itself. It is kept by whatever means you wish to employ. The rule makers are empowered by your obedience to that same piece of paper, and will simply ignore its "rules"

Paraphrasing Mr. Spooner....Either the Contitution was designed to produce the largest, most powerful government the planet has ever seen, or was unable to prevent it.

Hey, moose - governments have no power the instant people realize it is either us or them. Government is people.

Some are smart enough to bail out when things look bad for government, hastening the fall of the "powerful government", as it rots from within.

Read your history books. Think of Obama as a modern day Nero. Rome burned, Nero fiddled around, he burned with Rome, and the people prevailed.

The Constitution replaced the Articles. The Articles held states and citizens of those states sovereign and supreme. The Constitution holds the national government sovereign and supreme.

Agreed, the notion of a social contract is moronic.  I never signed it, so why should I be governed by it?  If myself and my two neighbors drew up a "social contract", said we were in charge and these are the rules, then walked around a two block radius and told everybody they were bound by this contract they never signed, people would recognize how fucking idiotic this is.  But with a piece of paper written by dead slave owners, suddenly it "makes sense".  What is most troubling is people need this piece of paper to claim they have rights, when they have rights simply because they are individual human beings.   Like the Spooner quote btw, NM.

Read what the Founders wrote. They knew that we would eventually wind up at the point we are at now. They were intelligent men who knew history and who had just risked all they had to try something different, something that had never been tried before. What I find amazing is that they knew the depravity that man sinks to when he is given POWER. They knew that the populace had to stay vigilant. But, another amazing thing is that some of them knew is that we would not stay vigilant.

I may be fooling myself into thinking that I and my family and many others, will stand(great book) but I have to believe this or else condemn all of the descendants to a life of debt ridden servitude.

Maybe I am a dreamer. But, without dreams (REM sleep and those other nebulous things) we cease to exist.

Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Perhaps we should stop focusing so much of our thoughts surrounding the idea of Liberty and balance our thinking with a bit with more thought to what enables us to give Life and the pursuit of Happiness.

In a way, yes... but... I get this mental picture (a perception) of many paranoids who spend their days peering through their venetian blinds, looking out onto the streets with weapons in their hands, waiting for someone to come and take away their Liberties. To me, that doesn't sound like much of a foundation for the thought of Life and the pursuit of happiness.

I get it. Sure, it's difficult to know how to handle them.

It might be resolved if a government openly stated that it will never attempt to do that. At least the paranoids could begin to relax a little.

Hey Schopenhauer,

Not to put too fine a point on it, but (proceeds to hone point), you know when the Dec was drafted it did not say that right? What it actually said was:

"Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Property."

You can Google it, but I'm pretty sure I got my shit wired.

Have a day.

John Locke's original quote was "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of property." Thomas Jefferson, who wrote the Declaration of Independence used the term "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" to broaden the idea.  In the Declaration, it does not only refer to property, but much more.  It should also be noted that "property" in the original sense referred to not just material property but also one's own sense of well being.

I guess I grew up in a Pro 2nd amendment environment as a kid.  My dad had a carry permit since I can remember.  He never hunted, I never saw him target practice...

My mom grew up on a farm and her father taught her and her sis how to shoot at age 6.  She shot small-bore rifle in a league back in the 1950's and after she got married to my dad never picked up a firearm again.

My brothers and I were taught how to shoot at a young age by my grand dad.  All my brothers and I hunted on and off during the last 50+ years...

I shot in a league for years...blasted more than a few ducks (yummy).

So basically we never had any fear of firearms.  Truth be told I am much more nervous taking trees down with a chain saw than shooting any firearm.

I do not know what a "gun culture" is...that description sounds so alarmist and contrived.  It just sounds silly...like if you grew up in the sticks and everyone in your family knows how to handle a chain saw and you've got 3 Poulans, two Husqy's and a Stihl...is that a fucking "chainsaw culture"?

WTF?

I still love plinking even to this day... I'm too gdamned lazy to hunt any-more....although I have a healthy respect for those that do so and put food on their tables.  I can say that the absolute last fucking thing I would ever want to do would be to take someone else’s life.  That's not to say I wouldn't or couldn’t in self defence... but in my heart of hearts... it is MY belief that justifiable or not.... it's bad Karma.

'The biggest usurers in medieval times were the Church and the Jews...to most people the words Jew and Usurer were synonymous. The clerks and agents and the priests dressed in black. Hence the blackbirds. And how strange that they should still be alive after an hour in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius. But this would have come as no surprise to an ancient Greek or Babylonian. Aristotle, who understood something of the nature of money, wrote:

'Usury is most reasonably hated because its gain comes from money itself and not from that for the sake of which money was invented. For money was brought into existence for the purpose of exchange, but interest increases the amount of the money itself and this is the actual origin of the Greek word: offspring resembles parent, and interest is money born of money; consequently this form of the business of getting wealth is of all forms the most contrary to nature.' Something dead becomes a living thing. No wonder it was ‘contra natura’.'

Newer thinking about money and the nature of money, by the likes of Rueff, Triffin, Duesenberg, other founders of the Euro and people who recognize the problems in our current system, have come to see that simple changes could have enormous ramifications.

If the medium in which we save is different that the medium which we use for exchange and lending, then the saver can be protected from the actions of governments and central banks that always seem to expand the supply of the medium of exchange beyond that which is needed to accommodate growth. In practice this would mean having a fiat currency for exchange and using gold for saving.

As long as we have a derivative market for gold the true usefulness of gold cannot be seen. When this derivative market finally implodes we will be able to see this new way of thinking more clearly. These ideas are so powerful and obvious that there is no need to advocate for them. They will evolve naturally as the current system dies from its own built in problems. There will be a day after which it will be too late to take advantage of a transition which must occur. before then you can buy gold at commodity prices. After that day most savers will turn to gold because of its obvious advantages even though they will buy it at a much higher price.

This caricature isn't bad but this Ramirez guy spends a good deal of his time perpetuating the ISIS myth which is a worthless endeavor here.  He seems to like to pitch the global warming issue against the ISIS issue which is just stupid.  Very few here believe in either global warming or the ISIS meme so why bother?

At least William's work has some basis in reality, both hidden and obvious meanings which are thought provoking and educational.  Ramirez is a good artist and I'm sure he has a large following of people who think that defeating ISIS in Syria and wherever else is the primary issue of our time but they are on mainstream sites, as they should be.

Attempts at more expansive gun and ammunition control?  If so, more will likely adopt home-based gunsmithing, reloading, and similar efforts.  Aren't many homemade guns free of registration requirements?

Education about alternative weapons will likely expand.  Perhaps more Americans will start building their own IEDs in their basements and apartments.

How ironic -- many Americans will soon adopt the techniques, technologies, and strategies of our opponents from the past 50 years.

And add to those tools the newer technologies, such as 3D printing and drones.

Perhaps someone will soon update the Anarchist's Cookbook.  Although it might be simpler to study Arabic and just read the jihadi websites and instruction manuals.

Oddly, and again ironically, we might eventually see terminally pissed off Americans joining with members of ISIS and similar groups and getting rid of the Washington, DC ruling class once and for all.

At the federal level, all homemade firearms for personal use are exempt from registration and require no serial numbers, though 1) your local government may feel otherwise, and 2) I'm not sure re NFA-regulated weapons (e.g. full auto).
