Putin Accuses US Of ISIS Oil Coverup

Tyler Durden's picture

Last Wednesday, the Russian MoD delivered a lengthy presentation which contained compelling visual evidence of a connection between Islamic State’s illegal and highly profitable trade in stolen Iraqi and Syrian crude and Turkey. Here are some highlights:

After loading up with oil, a truck convoy in east Syria heads toward Turkey in direction Al-Qamishli:

October 18: in the Drer-ez-zor region a satellite imagte reveals 1772 oil trucks:

November 14: in the Tavan and Zaho regions, in the zone where coalition forces are active, one can see a gathering of oil trucks:

November 28: in the region Kara-Choh on the territory of an oil refinery one can see 50 oil trucks:

The routes of alleged oil smuggling from Syria and Iraq to Turkey:

A substantial part from east Syria enter a refinery in Batman, Turkey (100km from the Syria border):

The slide show, hosted by Deputy Minister of Defence Anatoly Antonov, featured photos of oil trucks, videos of airstrikes and maps detailing the trafficking of stolen oil. It was the latest PR snafu for Erdogan who is struggling to convince Turkey’s allies that The Kremlin’s accusations are unfounded and that Ankara isn’t set to put NATO in an awkward position by effectively instigating a shooting war with Russia.

Washington came to Erdogan’s defense in the aftermath of Moscow’s claims as State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the US is confident that Ankara “is not complicit in Islamic State oil smuggling.” Russia seemed to take that denial in stride, but after US special envoy and coordinator for international energy affairs, Amos Hochstein, said on Friday that the amount of oil smuggled into Turkey from Syria is "of no significance from a volume perspective", Moscow appears to have had enough.

On Saturday, Russia accused the US of participating in a cover-up. “Our colleagues from the State Department and the Pentagon have confirmed that the photo-proof, which we presented at a briefing [on December 2], of the origin and destination of the stolen oil, coming from the areas controlled by the terrorists, is authentic. However, the US claim that they ‘don’t see the border crossings with tanker trucks crossing the border,’ raises a smile, if only, because the photos are still images,”  Major General Igor Konashenkov, a Defense Ministry spokesman said. “We advise the American side to have a look at how the tanker trucks not only drive through checkpoints at the Turkish border, but pass through them without even stopping.

As RT notes, an unnamed US State Department official confirmed to Reuters on Friday that the Russian photos of thousands of oil tanker trucks in Syria were authentic [but] stressed that he hasn’t seen “the imagery of the border crossing with trucks crossing the border, and that’s because [the US doesn't] believe it exists.”

Well, here it is:

"The declarations of the Pentagon and the State Department seem like a theatre of the absurd," the MoD added, before noting that Washington should "watch the videos taken by its (own) drones which have recently been three times as numerous over the Turkey-Syria border and above the oil zones". That, by the way, is an attempt to mock Washington for increasing the number of drones monitoring the situation while failing to actually conduct strikes. Earlier this week, Russia said that despite Washington's claims, the US and its partners are actually not bombing ISIS oil infrastructure or convoys.

In case the above isn't clear enough, here's more from the Russian MoD's Facebook: "When US officials say they don't see how the terrorists' oil is smuggled to Turkey... it smells badly of a desire to cover up these acts."

We have on any number of occasions suggested that Washington has avoided striking ISIS oil convoys in an effort to ensure that the group retains the funding it needs to continue to destabilize Syria and the Assad government (see here for instance) and in order to preserve amicable relations with Ankara which appears to benefit from the trafficking of illegal crude both from Kurdistan and Islamic State.

And so, Russia once again turns the screws on the West in an effort to expose what at this point looks to be a coordinated effort to facilitate the funding of international terrorism via the establishment and maintenance of smuggling routes for some 50,000 b/d of oil looted from fields in eastern Syria and northern Iraq. If the US is indeed complicit in this, it might be time to cut ties with Erdogan because Moscow is on the PR warpath and it's just a matter of time before the smoking gun emerges.

Who reads the NYT and why do Zionists in glass houses throw stones? You don't think the Zionist israelis torture Palestinians? They're probably cracking some spines in a window-less cell inside the entity right now, as you are reading these words. Hell, the Zionist went to Abu Grahib as contract specialists, to teach the Americans how to torture.

Classic jew propaganda. Whatever it takes to play one side against the other to use the blood and resources of both, weakening both at the same time, while serving the zionist agenda. Even if the compleely fabicated claims were true, it has nothing to do with Americans.

Assad was elected by 85% of the eligible voting population, and that accounts for the 3,000,000 or so who defected and chose not to 'vote'.

I reserve the right to put more emphasis on this massive support from within the country to give me a better idea as to the truth of what goes on, instead of the hysterical and inflamed 'news' delivered into jewish media mouthpieces.

Apparently classic inosent propaganda isn't up to the standards of classic Jew propaganda.  You might want to look at your second paragraph again, and then you might want to look at turnout in last vs previous elections in Syria as well opposition candidates appearing on the ballot in the last versus previous elections.  Once you can construct a viable and defensible propaganda campaign of the utter farces and shams that Syrian elections have been, then you can graduate from hasbara level trolling to the level of classic Jew propaganda (which in the case of Syria is far harder than Diebold, hanging chads, or the Palestinian disenfranchisement that Jew propaganda normally defends in the USSA and Israhell).

Although you are not presenting and data to state why the elections are a sham, and I suppose we might say based on this classic cyincal sentiment all elections everywhere are a sham, especially shared by those who did not like the result, still, all things being equal, as far as what was reported, here are the results:

Syrian presidential election, 2014 Syria
Turnout     73.42%

Nominee     Bashar al-Assad     Hassan al-Nouri     Maher Hajjar
Party     Ba'ath Party     NIACS     Independent
Popular vote     10,319,723     500,279     372,301
Percentage     88.7%     4.3%     3.2%

That is a jew media source. If jew media reports 73.43 voter turn out, either they were having an off day, or it was a lot higher :)

# voters noted above: 11192753

@ 73.42 = 15244828 Total voters

Voters who did not cast votes (out of protest?) = 4052075

So let's say the 4052075 all would have gone to some other candidate, the ideal Mr./Mrs. perfect (that we know doesn't exist), then Assad still would have gotten 67.7% of the vote. Now, in the uSa, that is considered a landslide.

What is the voter turnout in the uSa? In 2012, 55%. And exactly who would these ppl have voted for if they had voted? Technically, we'll never know. Some pl don't vote because they are lazy and they know their guy will win so they don't bother. Others are just not able to get to the polls, as it were, for one reason or the other, so they were not able to vote. Others know that (at least here in the uSa) don't vote (like in CA) there is no point, because the democrat always wins by default.

In the above 3 scenarios, it is plausible a non-vote could have gone to the winner. So that means, out of the 4052075 there may have been a percentage that went to Assad as well. I will be charitable and say only a mere 3% of the non-vote would have gone to Assad. That leaves him with a 70% vote of confidence *from the entire population* of the nation.

So, getting back to my initial premise, *assuming* the numbers reported in jew media are true (you can find them quite easily), unless somehow you can show that the voters were placed under duress, the votes never occurred, it was just a 'say so' by the Syrian govt, or some other from of epic fraud, then, again, this fact of overwhelming popularity, which is what we know as true, barring fraud, miscount, inaccurate data from the jew media who reported the results, why would such an overwhelming majority be so eager to throw their support behind osmeone they knew was so wretched and evil that he had been gassing and otherwise brutally torturing and murdering his own citizens?

Who would have a better understanding as to exactly what was happening in their own country except the people who live there?

I don't think I am spouting propaganda. I am merely taking a known fact (as reported by jew media) in re the election results, and juxtaposing it to other jew media hearsay, that is unsubstantiated, where the former, by my logic, tends to contradict the latter, discrediting the latter, and as such, takes away any legitimate basis for anybody to just show up in Syria and start killing people just because the jews or some pipeline corp doesn't like the decisions the leader of that country makes, voted in by a landslide.

Propaganda is just say-so. What I have written is far different.

But even if the vote was a total fraud, and Assad was the ultimate bogeyman, George Washington warned us to avoid entangling alliances. It is too bad there is a lot of trouble in this world, esp the ME. But the best policy is a blanket policy, no matter *what* is going on over there, and that is to pull out, 100%, no more financial aid, military this or that. The only strategic interest for the jew zio fed govt to waste American money and blood in that region is to cause nothing but trouble. Whatever else they say is total BS. And I think you should know that by now.

This 1934 text circulates most widely in the English-speaking world, as well as on the internet.

The "Text and Commentary" concludes with a comment on Chaim Weizmann's October 6, 1920, remark at a banquet: "A beneficent protection which God has instituted in the life of the Jew is that He has dispersed him all over the world".

Marsden, who was dead by then, is credited with the following assertion:

"It proves that the Learned Elders exist. It proves that Dr. Weizmann knows all about them. It proves that the desire for a "National Home" in Palestine is only camouflage and an infinitesimal part of the Jew's real object. It proves that the Jews of the world have no intention of settling in Palestine or any separate country, and that their annual prayer that they may all meet "Next Year in Jerusalem" is merely a piece of their characteristic make-believe. It also demonstrates that the Jews are now a world menace, and that the Aryan races will have to domicile them permanently out of Europe.[55]"

The zios and the corporate WASP nazis got Christians to kill each other in WW2 for them to make lots of money.

Every war is like that.  US Civil War, the wars in Europe.   Shia and Sunni killing each other.  Catholic and Protestant.  Catholic versus Eastern Orthodox. Christians bombing Asians in SE Asia to keep the drugs moving.

We hear that France was in IndoChina for the rubber plantations for Michelin and other rubber companies.  It was also for the heroin trade.  The French screwed with the tribes growing opium neatr Dien Ben Phu.  The Viet Minh were backed by the See Eye Aye.  The See Eye Aye wanted to take over the French herion/opium business in a hostile takeover.

A combination of political, financier and media classes has subverted the US constitution, perhaps the most powerful and succinct rules for governance ever produced, and subjugated, exploited and eviscerated responsible US citizens for the benefit and enrichment of a few % of the populace and indeed, for their like outside the US, destroying not just the US but much of the rest of the world.

The USA has been pretty much sh*t since the Civil War (1860) when the takeover was done.  JFK tried to change it but they got rid of him.

It really started going around the 7th US President Andrew Jackson.  He is a a rough character.  He was against central banks and they tried to kill him.  The assasin's pistols miss fired and I think old Jackson beat the shooters ass with his cane.  I think they then tried to poison him.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Jackson

Congress attempted to reauthorize the Second Bank of the United States several years before the expiration of its charter, which he opposed. He vetoed the renewal of its charter in 1832, and dismantled it by the time its charter expired in 1836.

Sadly he was in for the genocide of American Indians like the rest.

Every US President who was against central banks and fiat money was killed.  Any who even flirted with the idea were given a warning.

Bush klan and Seey Eye Aye wanted to get started early and they tried to stop Reagan in the primaries then they tried to whack him.

These are times in which our believes are stressed. We believe or at least we would like to believe that our governments in America and Europe act in truthfull, just and responsible manner and represent our interest. Further we believe or at least we would like to believe that we live on the right side of things. Unfortunately it becomes clearer and clearer that is not the way it really is. Our governments lie and manipulate and they follow sinister geopolitical agendas that we do not share. It is bitter to see Mr. Putin teaching us the truth about ISIS (ISIL, DAESH) and the involvement of the NATO member Turkey in the oil trading with ISIS. It is even more bitter to hear the US denial or to watch the EU remaining silent. This is not the first case of this kind. We had the Ukraine (where the US masterminded and financed a coupe d'etat), MH-17 (where the German government said it is not their interest to publish the evidence) and now the bizarre struggle between the NATO and Russia on the territory of Syria and Iraq. The end does not justify the means. The US and the EU are directly and indirectly responsible for a series of wars and many dead and wounded. We will not forget. And the history will judge the criminal acts of our political leaders.

Why didn't you start bombing the ISIS-controlled oil fields from day one of the air campaign if you were really serious about getting rid of the terrorists?

You didn't do this until I called you on the carpet about it right here on zerohedge.

"[...] Moscow is on the PR warpath and it's just a matter of time before the smoking gun emerges."

Short of getting sat or aerial pix of someone from the CIA or Pantygon standing at the Syria-Turkey border crossing shepherding ISIS oil tankers through, I'd argue that this photo data provided by Russia already is a "smoking gun".

(RT.com showed some additional pix side-by-side which allowed viewers to directly compare the terrain/buildings in the photos with the terrain zoomed in without any change of frame. Buildings were identical.)

It don't come much more conclusive than that.

We now have to face truth & reality that Washington, some of its allies and Turkey are all directly sponsoring ISIS terrorism and gangsterism, aka "International Organised Crime"[1].

[1] not to be confused with the International Olympics Committee under Sepp Blatter who is now known as the "IOC,IOC".

Therein lies the big challenge for all Americans and people of other Western nations: our governments have been secretly infiltrated and taken over by an "international criminal syndicate" to enrich themselves, subjugate their own citizens, steal foreign assets/resources and destroy foreign dissent.

Terrorists are used simply as foot soldiers. Law is being made up as they go along to suit them whilst existing laws are being trashed.

This is equal to the Bolshevik Revolution.

I think the only answer for the instability in the ME, to put an end to ISIS and Turkeys perenial trouble making in Syria, and the total freedom Israel feels to do whatever they feel like in any ME country regardless....is....to give Iran nuclear weapons.

Making Iran a nuclear weapons holder (as opposed to nuclear power with the ability to makes its own) changes the dynamic entirely. US geopolitics, its relationship with 'allies' changes vastly.   Turkey gets a kick in the guts, Saudis get bought under control, and Israel has to think about risks to itself for the very first time.

China/Russia/India/Pakistan...whoever should provide Iran with a limited number and array of nuclear missiles.

Of course when you got stuff like this you can probably never use it unless in a MAD situation, or looking for a MAD.

Otherwise - this shit is going to go on forever - or until Israel owns the Middle East and Russia gets kicked out of the ME.

Yes, and that's what all the fear is about. They don't actually believe Iran would use nukes against Israel...why would they do that? It would be suicide, and Iranians are NOT your typical ME goat-herders. They are a smart, sophisticated people, for the most part. And they aren't interested in killing themselves for 72 virgins...they'd rather be a force to be reckoned with in their area of the world. These people pre-date Islam, by a loooong stretch, and have quite a respectable pedigree. The Persians are well-equipped for the role, and know the area and its people well, unlike us, who can't seem to get the players straight, and keep tripping over the whole Sunni/Shia thing. Historically, Islam has been at its best when a strong 'caliphate' has been in power that kept the two sides in check. The US can NEVER be that caliphate...but the Iranians CAN. They can get the leash back onto all the little death-cultists, mop up the Wahabi-mess over in the Kingdom, and put some order back into the region. It won't look like our system, but then, that was never possible, was it?

So of course TPTB don't want them to achieve this...then we'd have to leave. Israel would, for the first time in it's short modern history, have to take a back seat in the region, and start behaving differently. No more throwing their weight around, then having the US back up their actions.

The balance of power has to change over there. Not through "regime-change", but by us getting the fuck out of there and allowing that region to settle into a natural power-balance amongst themselves. We can offer assurances that we won't allow Israel to be wiped off the map, but we SHOULD also be telling them that they are going to have to sit down with their neighbors and work something out, WITHOUT the US getting directly involved. Once they understand that it is up to THEM, those folks will make the adjustments needed, the Jews are a resourceful people, long used to negotiating their safety among enemies. The practical Israelis will jettison their lunatic-fringe and get down to work, and start policing their own, maybe start bulldozing those illegal 'settlements' and arresting the squatters who seem so eager to stroke Palestinian nerves. Those damned squatters are responsible for much of the violence in the area, and their hubris comes from how they are being protected now. Take that protection away, and leave them to deal with what they have wrought.

I believe in Israel's right to exist, but they must learn to exist in that region on their own, which means making compromises...NOT running to the US every time someone side-eyes them.

And in all honesty, once we are out of there, I truly believe that Iran would be much better equipped to oversea this part of the world than we are. And Israel would be much better off negotiating with neighbors in a STABLE region. It isn't only Israel that fears for itself...just about ALL of those countries have had to live under threats to their very existence for decades now. All we do is barge in periodically, screaming "Regime-change!", further upsetting any balance of power trying to establish itself. Part of Israel's problem is that the current processes aren't allowing anyone to feel secure, and Israel will NEVER have that peace of mind until all of their neighbors have it as well.

Let the Iranians have a shot at it. Why the fuck not? When is the last time we've heard of Iranian suicide-bombers detonating in Western cities? Every other mother-loving country in the region has its people all over the place causing problems...maybe the Iranians hate us, but they seem to be staying home and hating us from there. That's just fine, I can live with that.

If the Iraqi rulers had been smart they would have granted the Kurds so much autonomy that they would have been entitled to keep the oil revenues for themselves legally.

Perhaps the West will recognize an independent Kurdish state in Northern Iraq and Northern Syria. Erdogan will comply if his son will continue to benefit from oil trafficking (if it´s true that his son is involved in this business).

It seems hard for Assad and the Shiites to create a continuous piece of land from Iraq to Assad controlled parts of Syria.

The West, and especially those who gradually have taken over the rule of the West since the beginning of the 19th century, has always been very good at divide and conquer strategies.

I´m not so sure that the Kurds in the long run will benefit from an independent state in Northern Iraq and Northern Syria. Once these regions have been separated from Iraq and Syria, respectively, Turkey may conquer these territories without risking a war with Iraq and Syria (they don´t want to fight a war with NATO). But perhaps the US and Europe will establish a permanent, independent Kurdish state. With American troops stationed in Kurdistan I doubt that Turkey will invade Kurdistan.

Couple questions:

Why are there no hearings on Capitol Hill on the matter of Turkey being ISIS accomplice? Is this something so insignificant that they think it can be just swept under the carpet?  If they think that Snowden betrayed his country how would they characterize playing footsie with ISIS? Why is there no Obama impeachment proceeding as we speak? Do they think that time to act is now when something can be done, or 20 years from now when the records are open and we learn who was directly involved in trading and supporting the terrorists and who was covering for them?

Is it really a surprise that people are just sick of being lied to and are turning for help outside the establishment? What would be the next stage in people's rage against the establishment?

Simple answer is that the whole system is so corrupt that this is business as zio-usual. The people are so dumbed down and distracted that there's only a minute few capable of stringing together all the pieces.

Because in the Act of 1871, the bankers lent money to the broke US government in exchange for incorporating the 10-mile area around Washington DC.  The incorporated UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is what we naively call our government.  It is not our government.  It is a corporation run by and for the bankers.

And THAT, my friend, is why you see more and more "shootings."  They are desperate to take our guns because "they" are not us!

Of course the USA knows Turkey funds ISIS by buying its oil, probably the USA & Israel set it up.

And of course  the USA has been actively protecting the ISIS oil convoy and sale through Turkey - you know it is obvious even from fucking Space.

The only conclusion that can be drawn is that ISIS is at the very minimum an American ally, and most likely a US/Saudi/Israel/Turkey creation - training, arming and funding. AND the USA does NOT want ISIS destroyed.

So now we have every USA Europeane ally sending in troops and planes - to Protect ISIS, not attack it. And further their only aim, to oust Assad - put in a puppet regime, and cancel Russian bases in Syria.

The best asset for Russia is Iran, and China should it join in.  And I think if the US axis looks like being successful in converting Syria and the USA/Israel taking over the ME - China might get concerned and join the Russian real fight against ISIS.

I think China should join in sooner with Russia and increase the work on ISIS and the oil convoys. Makes it a whole lot harder for the USA / Israel to protect ISIS, and make out they are there to defeat ISIS.  China joining in may just force the USA hand to cut Turkey and others loose and wind back their plans.

Ahh...now I know what removing Kebab means.   Man Sweden and Germany need some help and balls from Serbia to do the job.

I sure wish Putin and Russia were where they are today when that whole Serbian thing went down.  Zato evil and drug running in the Balkans.

Beautifu! Now the US stands alongside Turkey as terrorist states for all the world to see. The noose is getting tighter.

To some it looks like Putin is naive to trust the NATO alliance. I think it was part of his strategy to act as innocent victim. It was practically an open invitation for the US and Turkey to expose themselves as terrorist states.

The question remains about what Europe will do. It certainly makes their roles as lackeys more difficult. Although it appears like European leaders are acting on their own by getting involved in Syria. It would not surprise me if they are being threatened with blackmail or some kind of threat to their lives.

It's a shame that as an American I find myself rooting for the other side. The political elites are as much enemies of American citizens as they are of the Russians.

The EU is a totally captured vassal of the US.

The CIA controls the major narratives in the EU media and stuffs lots of money in the pockets of EU leaders.

I am an American like you that has realized that Putin operates on a higher moral and ethical level compared to US leaders. For us Americans our US leaders are our worst enemies.

Iraq has a few (not many) warplanes of its own. So Iraq should attack the Turkish tanks and APCs near Mosul

That forces the USA to take sides and choose between Iraq and Turkey.

Yet after Paris attacks, they provided Frances the locations to them to strike...

Personally, I smelled smthg very fishy when very early on in the ISIS phenomenon, Barry declared that it would take at least 3 yrs to defeat them. I told myself: this has to be a joke....the MIGHTIEST military in the world? spying on the entire planet, man and beast alike?  against a group of desert bandits?  Smthg had to be wrong .... I concluded that either the US was bent on using them to obtain some other objective (ex: removing Assad), or that it was an ideal opportunity for the MIC to make big bucks, while telling us to hide under our beds in fear....Daddy is taking care of business!!!

Obama is no more black than is David Duke (whom I have far more respect for than I do Obama) (the zionist media went after Duke when he was not willing to sell out America, like the rest of the traitors in Washington). Obama, like all the Presidents before him, starting with LBJ, are disgraces to the office, and traitors to the people.

A very good rhetorical question asked in that article;

"Is Turkey’s Erdogan trying to “hoodwink the NATO allies into a confrontation with Russia” or has NATO been inching toward war with Russia and is simply using Turkey as a vehicle to do that?"

Trump might actually do that because he can afford his own Security team. Instead of the Secret Service which is a branch of the Treasury Department which is owned/operated by the Rothschilds. There's that name again; Rothschilds... Weird...
