New Photo Emerges Of California Mass Shooters Entering The US

Tyler Durden's picture

On Friday, the world got its first look at Tashfeen Malik who, along with her husband Syed Rizwan Farook, stormed a San Bernardino county employee holiday party killing 14 and wounding 21.

Here is her Pakistan ID card:

Both suspects were killed in a subsequent shootout with police and in the wake of the tragedy, the FBI revealed that Malik pledged allegiance to ISIS leader Bakr al-Baghdadi on Facebook while the attack was in progress.

We documented what’s known about Malik’s past on Saturday. Here’s a brief recap

As Reuters reports, Malik “was from Karor Lal Esan, a city on the west coast of the Indus River in southern Punjab province.” She had been living in Saudi Arabia with her father for 25 years. Pakistani officials note that “the area in Punjab where she spent her early years and later went to university is a 'recruitment ground' and stronghold of Islamist groups with ties to al Qaeda.”

The LA Times calls Malik's family "educated [and] politically influential." "Residents said the Aulakh family is known to have connections to militant Islam," the paper continues before citing a local as saying that "the family has some extremist credentials," whatever that means.

In any event, when her father moved to Saudi Arabia, “he changed a lot,” Malik's uncle, Javed Rabbani, says. "When relatives visited him, they would come back and tell us how conservative and hardline he had become.” Reuters goes on to say that the Saudi government had no information linking her to terrorist organizations.

Farook brought Malik back to the US after marrying her in Saudi Arabia. On Monday, ABC released a picture taken as the couple moved through customs at Chicago O’Hare on July 27, 2014. Here's the image:

While Malik looks similar to the other images that have made the rounds, Farook's appearance differs rather noticeably from the DMV picture circulated last week.

While we were the first to mock co-workers' contention that Farook's radicalization could be confirmed by the size of his beard, we would note that although you cannot judge a book by its cover, it does indeed appear as though some manner of transformation might have taken place in or around Farook's two visits to Saudi Arabia. Indeed, US authorities now say that "initial evidence gathered by counterterrorism investigators suggests Ms. Malik may have had a stronger bond than her husband to jihadist ideology," WSJ reports

It's "a very real possibility" the attack was instigated by Malik, unnamed officials say, adding the Farook was just a man "looking for answers."

Maybe. Or maybe it's just more convenient to blame the "radical" Saudi/Pakistani wife than it is to admit that a Chicago-born public health inspector was so disillusioned with his life in America that he turned to radical Islam before embarking on a murderous rampage.

What concerns me most about this incident is that it is the perfect excuse for conservatives to attack the vast majority of moderate muslims as 'terrorists'. We must not give into isalamaphobia, and rememebr that the majority of muslims are peaceful hardworking people.

The word "al-Taqiyya”literally means: "Concealing or disguising one’s beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury.”A one-word translation would be "Dissimulation."

This is exactly what our Attorney General Loretta Lynch said. But it turns out that an eyewitness has ID'd the suspects as 'three tall white men'. Eyewitness accounts are notoriously unreliable which is why ethnic profiling is clearly not the answer. But the only alternative it seems to me is massive sweeps of everyone's records. Somehow these individuals slipped through the net. This is the price we pay in today's homeland for lax gun laws.

The media wastes no time wondering why modern Islamic terrorists and the vast majority of all terrorists almost never hit anything of actual systemic importance - critical infrastructure or highly important persons. It should be abundantly clear to all that terrorism against developed nations never accomplished any of its stated or assumed objectives, yet the so-called terrorist "masterminds" haven't changed the playbook for a century. We are frequently reminded how vulnerable essential infrastructure is, and high-profile individuals are frequently vulnerable, yet they are never targeted for anything but graffiti and heckling, respectively.

Which has a greater disruptive and terrorizing effect, a greater negative impact on a larger number of people? A Paris-style attack that is over within a few hours and directly involves only a few hundred people at most, after which everyday life resumes immediately, or a local/regional power grid downing, lasting for 1-2 weeks and directly affecting millions? It is embarrassingly obvious. The pulverization of the Al-Shifa plant was a greater act of terror than anything IS has accomplished or will ever accomplish outside of Syraq; likewise the destruction of Iraq was a greater terrorist attack than 1000 9/11s combined.

Whenever this inconvenient line of questioning pops up it is instantly smashed down as missing the point - terrorism is about feelings and perceptions, not physical damage and bodycounts. Which society is more affected, one in which a mere handful of the annual mass-shootings will be determined to be politically motivated in some ill-defined way as the populace with zero material effect on 99.99% of the population, or a whole society living under constant and direct threat of major disturbance to water/waste treatment, power transmission, food delivery, access to medical care, etc.? Is quotidian life is Paris objectively different from how it was 4 weeks ago? What about in New York vis December of 2000? Not in any way that could possibly be construed as having been a direct, necessary, natural effect of terrorism or which materially advances the cause or interests of the alleged terrorists. The terrorizing occurs after the fact and must be carefully cultivated and maintained by the MSM and PTB, the terrorists themselves, real or imaginary, are bit players, they don't even get named in the credits.

This is a mind control mechanism. The more you bombard a person with a repeated message coming from trusted sources, especially TV as it infiltrates the sub conscious, the more it is accepted as fact. The greater number of times the message is received the more virulent the rejection automatically blocks any information of the opposing message even if logical and true.

In short the old saying "If you repeat a lie often enough people believe it is true." is correct.

We tend to forget and be thankful for the fast response of law enforcement who transitioned from terrorist drills a few blocks away into hot pursuit. When they found these two handcuffed in the back of the get away vehicle reminiscent of the cornering of Bonnie & Clyde they let them have it. Society was saved and we all live to celebrate Obama's "Holy day Season". They've got to get it passed first.  Gun rights is one of the few issues that we do actually have a say in.  This is for two reasons:

Whether a candidate actually gets hurt or helped by his stance on gun rights isn't nearly as dependent on campaign contributions as it is with other issues (see banking.)  If there is an anti-gun candidate, a bunch of people get a phone call saying "this cat is anti-gun," then word spreads.

We gun owners are armed and are getting to the point where we're not going to take kindly to further gun control measures.

Mon, 12/07/2015 - 14:52 | 6888886 The9thDoctor
The9thDoctor's picture

Gun rights are the only "rights" left.

Firearm ownership has been a big distraction from the fact that we have no economic freedom.

The patriot movement is looking for some boogeyman to defend themselves with firearms against, meanwhile, they need to put in long hours at dead end jobs to come up with the money to pay for said equipment.

I know a lot of these militia type guys and almost all of them are in massive debt from buying "toys" and they work shitty jobs to pay back the debt. These dead end jobs at these corporations are so authoritarian that they would make the East German Stasi blush. ( I recommend reading Bob Black's "The Abolition of Work" to see the comparisons)

How can you fight some external enemy when your own economic enslavement to a dead end job is infinitely worse, but these gun guys just fail to see the matrix encased over their eyes.

Obama the gun salesman gets on TV and says the magic talismanic phrase "gun control" and all of the schmucks run out and buy guns with credit cards.

I facepalm, because I have seen this sham over and over and over again ever since his election.

Buying guns made by MIC corporations with big bank credit cards are the balls and chains you are putting on to yourselves.

You don't see how valuable that tactic is for Uncle Fraud?  The No Fly list will be completely arbitrary depending on whether they toe the government agenda line. Argue against a fraudulent government on the internet?  Get placed on the NO FLY list.  Voice your opinion in an open forum anywhere?  Get placed on the NO FLY list.

We're talking about some serious control of the public and as usual, the American public is stone cold braindead as to its real purpose.

YES.

And this is what Hillary Clinton was keenly aware of as she said on MSM that she doesn't want to have any 'chipping away' of the no fly list. What is key is just whom gets on this list - not that the list should be about guns. Who decides on the reasons for listing someone? And if there is a no-fly list, doesn't this indicate that the people listed are a threat to citizens and that they shouldn't be in public space at all?

By having the "no-fly" list at all, means that there is somewhere your name can be put which has other consequences.

If a "moderate" form of gun control equates no-fly with no-gun, then there is no limit to who can be refused weapons.

They want the no fly list because it is private and there is no judicial oversight for it.

They can monitor your purchases, then follow you around, and then slap you on the list and show up at your door.

That is why they want the no fly list to be used.

A good logic pretzel from his speech:

"But he says no matter how effective law enforcement and intelligence is, they can't identify every would-be shooter. Obama says it's a matter of national security to prevent those people from getting guns."

So they are saying that no matter what laws or tools they have, it will not stop people from committing mass shootings. So please let them go ahead and keep implementing more laws and tools that do nothing to stop what cannot be stopped, but will surely make for a more malleable populace when draconian measures are needed after the dollar collapses.

If you cannot identify every would be shooter, how are you going to keep them from getting guns?  Duh.

The "no fly list" argument might be valid if there wasn't hundreds of thousands already on it....many unknowingly, and all without recourse. As with civil forfeiture, you are presumed guilty until proven innocent, and that proof...that JUDGEMENT is a long hard and expensive road that few can travel. We all understand that sometimes it is necessary to surrender some rights for the greater good, the more precious of those demanding very compelling evidence. But when it is done secretly and without recourse, a very high bar has been breached.

Our government should be forced to provide incontrovertible evidence for the need for such tyranny before even considering it. We are dependent upon our press for such things and they are lying down, no, in league with these tyrannical powers, lulled by the reinforcement of their own self importance.

Sorry, I cannot agree.

The no fly list is thought crime, pure and simple. You cannot use thought crime to infringe on a right.

As Denninger put it, just because you cannot yell fire in a crowded theater doesn't mean they can muzzle you before you walk in.

Same thing with firearms.  You cannot be deprived of your right to self defense solely because they think you might do something. Or have done something and paid your dues (felons).

Simple, either you want a free society and all the issues that go with it, or you do not.

As free people we should be able to determine or recognize threat without the necessity of dying first as the only proof. While I would agree that much of what we see as LAW in our modern "society" IS pre-crime, we must also be able to distinguish real potential threat. If we insist on not being examined by the TSA and we insist on no one being judged a threat based on their actions or words, then air travel will end. It is one thing when you can actually try and punish someone for a crime, but when that purpose is cancelled with the deliberate suicide, punishment is NOT a deterrent. All one is left with IS prevention. So if you are content with that, your choice remains the same as mine with only the motive different. If their is no assessment of risk, no prevention of crime, then I simply won't fly or use any public facility. For you, if there is prevention in place, you may well judge to not fly or go to public places because of your perceived loss of liberty. In either case, those who seek to do us harm have won. What we must deal with is the lack of moderation and balance....in either direction. Our real dilemma is the complete destruction of trust in our government and its appendages. Without trust, there is no social structure that will provide any liberty beyond what can be taken by force.

It would be stupid to NOT screen plane passengers, but instead we have made it dumber still by insisting on screening everyone with no obvious prioritization (profiling) and hiring low wage stooges as our protectors, taking our nail clippers (making them appear even more ignorant and arbitrary) and imposing no fly lists without reasonable recourse or review. It comes across as heavy handed and inept.

Further, we know all of the surveillance appears to be ineffectual for its stated purpose while we fear it ultimately will be turned against us.

A few years back the brother of a friend had flown to the UK on vacation. When he was to return, the airport in London detained him for hours, cagily questioning him until he finally discovered his "issue" was that he had purchased reloading supplies with the same credit card he had bought his tickets. They had no problem with him leaving the US, only returning. It is this type of thing that worries most of us. The arbitrary sense of our security apparatus and how any of us can get trapped in it with no way out, while meanwhile we are IMPORTING Syrians who have been thoroughly vetted.

The government Bar flies (that's lawyers) have figured out how to use the commerce clause in the American Constitution to restrict your ability to use your protected rights. All commercial means of traveling and firearms production and sale must comply with government regulations. Now the people can only purchase the commercial services or products which the commercial entity is allowed to sell with restrictions.

Air travel is dually regulated. The air line companies are governed by both the commerce clause in the Constitution and the law of Admiralty which governs the sea and the air. The Peoples rights in the Constitution come from the land or nature ( the creator ).

The realization has finally come to me that Obama is correct in refusing to refer to those who would kill in the name of Allah as radical or extremist. They are not extreme or radical. It is those Muslims who are peacefull who are the radicals as they are the ones attempting to steer Islam away from its violent roots. It becomes obvious that it is only those who choose to ignore its violent teachings who are the true radicals and fortunately they appear to be in the majority, yet remain relatively fragile and subject to revertion if pressed. We have seen mainstream Christianity moderate over the centuries, even to the point of the creation and adoption of a New Testimate, one significantly less violent in its descriptions than the Old. We can only hope that this new radical departure from historic Muslim texts and interpretations is ultimately adopted and embraced by all Muslims. Fundamental Islam is at war with the world, in words and in deeds.

Most religions evolved in medieval type of times. Violence was the nature of life. We should see moderation of religion as a positive and for those who want to do the same for Islam, I support them, regardless of how backward and violent its history.

Besides, now we have the religion of State, that relies less on direct violence than it does division. Rather than have a common culture or even language, the religion of State seeks to dominate us by promoting our individuality at the expense of our unity in resistance to them. Divided we are subservient. We are told to surrender our freedoms to the state, for the good of the state...the collective, of which we are to contribute but not share in its rewards. Sacrifice is our theme. Bend over is our call to prayer.
