Guest Post: Could Trump Become One Of America's Greatest Presidents?

Submitted by Bill Bonner of Bonner & Partners (annotated by Acting-Man.com's Pater Tenebrarum),

Ganging up on the Donald

Poor Donald Trump. Everybody’s against him.

Jeb Bush says he’s “unhinged”...

...Chris Christie says he has “no idea what [he’s] talking about”...

...John Kasich accuses him of “outrageous divisiveness”…

love

The Donald – in reality, they love him…

...and Marco Rubio describes him as “offensive and outlandish.”

And those are just his fellow Republicans!

“Reprehensible... prejudiced...” adds Hillary Clinton.

Piling on, Martin O’Malley says Trump is a “fascist demagogue.”

Can a man with enemies like these really be bad?

Looney Leanings

Donald Trump brought the wrath, ire, and contempt of the mainstream political establishment down on his head yesterday. He called for a “total and complete shutdown on Muslims entering the United States.”

Most commentators quickly condemned him, pointing out that such a ban would be unconstitutional and completely against the principles on which the nation was founded.

Hair questions

Alien anchor hair discovered…

But in a spirit of pure mischief (a blustery billionaire hardly qualifies for our customary support for die-hards, lost causes, and underdogs), we rush to the defense of “The Donald.”

Yes, his proposal is reckless, stupid, unworkable, unfair, and un-American. But it might not be unpopular. Give the man credit. He’s running for president. To win, he needs the votes of people who are at least as block-headed as he is.

In that respect (perhaps the only respect) his latest proposal may not be a bad idea. Also, making preposterous and outrageous proposals hardly disqualifies you for the White House.

Some of our “best” presidents – at least, according to historians and the public – were those who did the looniest things... things that were completely at odds with the Constitution, the spirit of liberty, and their own policy goals.

President Lincoln told the crowd at Gettysburg that his war against the South was in line with the Declaration of Independence, which clearly asserted the right of a people to choose their own government.

The war would determine, he said, whether “that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.” The answer was “no.” And he made sure of it.

ColDemands12w

Contemporary cartoon of Lincoln attack him over the human toll of the Union war effort. Columbia, wearing a liberty cap and a shirt made of an American flag, demands, “Mr. Lincoln, give me back my 500,000 sons!” At the right, Lincoln, unfazed, sits at a writing desk, his leg thrown over the chair back. A proclamation calling for “500 Thous. More Troops,” signed by him, lies at his feet – click to enlarge.

President Wilson did the same thing for foreigners – invading more countries than any other president… while proclaiming the right to self-determination. Elections were fine, said Wilson, as long as they chose “good men.” If he didn’t like the men chosen… he sent in the troops.

By the standards set by Lincoln and Wilson, Donald Trump has the capacity to be one of our greatest leaders.

PS:

It doesn’t really matter who wins the race for the White House, because the Deep State already controls just about every aspect of American life. From health care, to education, to the food on our tables, to the never-ending war on terror, the Deep State is pulling the strings.

I hate to admit it, but coinhead is right. I admit to personal cog-dis. on an emotional level I like Trump and Putin. They kick ass and take names. They tell the truth when no-one else will. They get shit done!

But.

They are both globalists. They both work for the Bankers. Their only real fight is whether or not THEY get to run the NWO, and not the faggot cartel of rabid Zionists and Communists, ie Hillary, Obama, and the EU.

But I like them. I can't help it. And if they win, they will kill me, just as surely as Hillary and Obama will.

Trump pretty much said if got the nomination, he would pick Cruz as a running mate.  I could certainly live with that.

Sometimes you need a Machete and sometimes you need a Scalpel.  With that ticket you would have both.

So "globalist" Putin wants to run the world a la NWO? I doubt it somehow.

Russia is perceived as a threat to the "globalist" NWO. The Anglo-Zionist global NWO hegemon has been doing its best to try and start WWIII because Russia will not accede to their wishes. Listen to Putin's speeches - he advocates a multi-polar world. This is anathema to the hegemon.

So, you buy into the theory that Trump is merely a foil to secure the eGOP nomination only to hand Hitlery the Presidency by blowing the general election?  I never say never to anything until it is shown to be truth or fiction.  So, provide evidence Trump is a Quisling or no better than Hitlery.

For the record I am beyond parties/phony elections, so this is merely a sporting proposition.

The lies and corruption of our current system have temporarily gotten the better of his good judgement, and when he says "vote with a bullet", he really means, "vote with a beautiful flower".

IOW, a proggie, by any other name. The fact that the Trumpet has THEM all a twitter, piques my interest. His opposition is taking a big risk exposing themselves this early in the game. They must know that something's up which does not comport with the usual game plan. Trump in the forefront will beat dark pools of Soros in the background. Bleed that fucker dry, Donald. Trump, with his authoritarian tendencies, is quite likely the one who will lock down the country and go for everyone's guns when the economic collapse occurs. People would never see it coming, but everything he's said in the past and everything he's saying now points to him being a statist.

I didn't down vote you but I disagree. Trump is carrying most of the time. One commenter here said said that they have a friend that's done business with him and he was  prick... I don't doubt it. The traitor hyenas and jackals in the fascist media twist everything he says so that is a positive indicator.

Dr. Jerome Corsi and Roger Stone are people I do trust. They have both known Trump for a long time along with Jesse Ventura. They all say he is the real deal and endorse him. And, he is turning out to be far shrewder that I thought.

Is he Playmate of the year? Of course not. But at this point he is clearly the best option.

@ Otrader- we were just talking about this today- is Trump a spoiler for Hillary? It is within the realm of possibility. Some of us remember a small, intense man named---oh shit, what was his name? Oh yeah. Ross Perot! He handed the election to Bill.

Personally, I think Trump needs to vet his Secret Service detail. If any of them ever were close to the Clintons, Trump needs to get rid of them. It's a "safety" thing.

One thing for sure, Hillary hired that kooky professor-looking dude, the Communist one, (what's HIS name? SandyHook?) to prep the citizenry for acceptance of Hillary's REAL platform. Really. Whatever that guy says, that's what Hillary will do.

The only reason Trump has supporters is this:

All other candidates want increased spending, warfare, and surveillance.

Trump wants all those same things, except he claims that it is for targeting the Mexicans and Muslims instead of fellow Americans.

That is the ONLY difference, but it is more than enough nowadays to make him poll well above the other midgets in the race.

Socialism is all about protectionism for your tribe (little "t" tribe) and The Donald is promising that in spades.

Quasi,

Have you ever heard of Rand Paul, he doesn't fit your description on line 2 of your comment. Just sayin... I know it won't happen, but he's not for that shit you listed.

There will be NO SAVIOR elected. Ever.

The only person who will save one, is one's self, (short term), and if lucky, family members and a small, tight-knit group/community in the more long term.

Plan and prepare accordingly, and watch the shit-show happen while enjoying some popcorn.

How does tossing illegals back over a wall require more government.  First it is already the law, just not applied.  Second it means fewer illegals to coddle in the US, with fewer bureaucrats needed to organise the coddling.  Likewise fewer criminal illegals, so fewer jails, fewer cops needed, etc.

Same goes for keeping mohammedans out.  Fewer violent trouble makers, fewer bureaucrats and cops needed to cope with their demands.  Indeed if the US ejected all the mohammedans, the excuse for spying on all US citizens would be eiminated and maybe a few more gov jobs.

And how about his objections to one sided trade deals that ship US manufacturing jobs overseas.  Bring those jobs back and you end up with fewer people on welfare, so fewer bureaucrats needed.

And his policy on VA medical care, i.e. if the VA can't cope, let the vets use private doctors paid for by the US government, not appoint more VA bureaucrats.

So you claim is actually the reverse of reality.  Is that through ignorance or malice?

The height of irony is reading about some jackass from Yale Law school talking about the constitutionality of anything, but there she was saying The Donald as Prez couldn't decide who's allowed in this country. That's the Donald's singular advantage over the others cowering in their sponsor's corner: it is to call out bullshit; When no one, and I mean no one, follows suit, his opponents are exposed. Trump's going to need Ventura and some of those retired Seals.

Those illegals who lack a validly-issued SSN stand out like a red flag on employment records, which are presumably held by the feds, you know, on computers and stuff.  If anyone felt like looking.

The independently-wealthy illegals might stay on indefinitely, but any illegals that work for a living could quickly become unemployable.  Who know, wages might even go up due to a shortage of labor.

Before, Trump was a life long Democrat. The Clintons are his friends and he supported Hillary last time around. I think they were all sitting around one evening and Trump made a bet with Bill Clinton. "Bill, watch this. I bet you a million dollars I can kill the GOP. I will run as a fat mouthed bigot and say out loud all the crap they think behind closed doors."

Clinton: "hahaha! Nahh, you might be able to fool some of the people, but they won't be dumb enough to not see through it eventually."

Trump: "Oh yeah? You hide and watch, Bill. You just hide and watch me!"

I think they are all sitting back and laughing their asses off at these dumbasses who just can't seem to get that they are being played.

Trump's economic plan is actually really good. He wants to lower taxes on corporations, yet add in an important tariff. It's genius. It would allow for corporations to return to the USA from overseas and manufacture goods here again.

Good paying manufacturing and tech jobs is what we desperately need in this country. It would solve a lot of our problems.

Then if Trump kicked out the illegal immigrants (who mooch off the welfare system) we might actually see a balanced Federal budget.

CRUZ was born in Canada, a Canadian Citizen.  He is not and can never be a Natural Born American Citizen.  He didn't even renounce his Canadian Citizenship until a couple of years ago when he decided to trash the U.S. Constitution and declare himself eligible to serve as POTUS.

Trump would make a HUGE mistake appointing Cruz as his Vice-Presidential partner.

Cruz would make an excellent Chief Justice of SCOTUS, if he would show some respect for the U.S. Constitution and step down from his ambitions to be POTUS.

The only jobs that come back are the ones that depend on tariffs because they otherwise suck ass without them. There's a reason why unions are the biggest supporters of tariffs -- they need the government to suppress competition so people buy their shitty products. Everyone else suffers from the tariffs because they have to pay more for the goods they buy, which in turn reduces the standard of living by leaving society with less money left over to save or invest.

Every single free market economist from Friedman to Hazlitt to Mises has advocated free trade and zero tariffs (And when I say free trade, I'm talking about REAL free trade, not crony trade like NAFTA/TPP). Tariffs absolutely kill the middle class and poor because it makes the stuff they buy more expensive. A tariff is just a politically correct term for a sales tax. The tax is silently passed down to the consumer and is justified in the name of nationalism. It makes everyone poorer at the expense of the few who directly benefit from the tariff (i.e. auto unions if foreign-made cars are hit with tariffs)

Two things:

1. Germany has a lower standard of living than the US on just about every economic metric out there. Germans have a lower standard of living than Americans do because they pay more for the goods they have to buy. This comes from both high taxes and high import tariffs.

2. Germany basically runs the EU, so they can dictate economic policy so that it directly benefits them at the expense of the rest of Europe. If Greece still had the drachma for its currency instead of the Euro, its exports would be much cheaper and it would be more competitive with the rest of the global market. The reverse would be true for Germany if it was still on the Deutschemark. State-controlled trade (aka NOT free trade) enriches Germany at the expense of poorer Eurozone nations.

Lastly I'll link this article to you which is a recent example of why tariffs can be destructive to an economy.

http://blogs.wsj.com/source/2011/12/19/norway-embarrassed-by-butter-shor...

Norway has some of the biggest import tariffs in the world, especially when it comes to agriculture. All in the name of protecting jobs at home of course. Because imported agricultural products are so ridiculously expensive in Norway, it led to a nationwide butter shortage when their state-protected companies didn't have enough butter to provide for consumers.

Let that sink in for a second. A country that is consistently ranked as having one of the highest standards of living in the world had a huge shortage of a very basic item. That is fucking embarrassing, and it's a perfect example of how tariffs can and will massively backfire on citizens.

"We could be far better of a country than we are today if we had the right leadership"

This kind of thinking drives me up the wall, because it implies that the deep state is ok and that the real problem is just that we don't have the right guy controlling the state, that's all.

Is the current leadership a joke? Fuck yes. But the real problem is that the state's power needs to be weakened. I don't see that happening under a President Trump. He talks a big game but I reckon when push comes to shove he will dial down his rhetoric and it will be business as usual in Washington.

As much as I love the idea of a truly free market, it's pretty clear that on a global scale, it's anything but.

He's a hardcore nationalist, and I'll be honest, his nationalist policies in regards to tariffs and attempting to bring back manufacturing jobs is intriguing.

Don't want another problem Smoot-Hawlry, but if the Fed is already gonna fuck us, may as well try to get some jobs out of the deal.

The only reason Smoot-Hawley was a problem for the US was that, at the time, the US was the world's leading manufacturer and a substantial net exporter of manufactured goods.  So of course when everyone played tit for tat on imports, the US lost out.

Now the situation is reversed.  The US is the world's leading importer of manufactured goods.  A drastic reduction in international trade in manufactures would actually benefit the US.   Of course it would not be so good for Apple and so many of the multinationals who manufacture cheaply offshore for large profits in the west, profits that do not go to the majority of the population who suffer from the policy
