For individuals who went without insurance in early 2015 although they were eligible to enroll, the average household penalty in 2016 will be $969 – a 47 percent increase over the average estimated penalty of $661 this year, according to a new analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation.
"surgeon obama, dont close him up yet, we are seeing some residual monetary value yet to remove"
To his credit, at least 'ole Hans Gruber ('Clay --- Bill Clay...') came out & said what the scam was all about, least of which was 'affordable' health care.
Yes. My understanding is there were several people who started paying earlier this year, as they are independent contractors/sole-proprietors who opted to pay the fine, and hence on their first quarter taxes, they paid the fine.
I seem to recall that Obama actually attempting to contradict them publicly, saying that the fine wouldn't be due until 2016, but his case works for people who don't pay quarterly, not for "normal" (non-corporate-slave) people who pay quarterly.
"Has anyone actually paid the fine for not buying into this shit-caravan?"
Yes, holding my nose. I chose to pay the penalty rather than have "insurance" at $8K -$9K per year. Not a difficult calculation if your health is good, you eat carefully, and you avoid high-risk activities.
Controlling health care costs is all about controlling your health. For my families sake I switched us to organic and got off all the chemical crap and GMOs. I haven't been sick once since then - 8 years. I consider it my "Escape from the SickCare Industry"
Of course as a self employed person, I keep a high deductible plan "just in case" and although I haven't pulled my insurance card out of my wallet in 8 years my premiums still go up 20+% a year.
I don't think anyone pays the fine as an individual item, it's all hidden in the irs mumbo jumbo. If you have to pay taxes on April 15th its that much more. If you're supposed to get a refund its that much less.
ACA is imploding but unfortunately it's taking a damn long time to do it. Would be nice if Congress helped it along but we can't count on House / Senate for anything.
I read somewhere that things that are failing should be given a push just to get it over with faster...someone better give this nasty ass scheme a big push and fast.
"ACA is imploding but unfortunately it's taking a damn long time"
What replaces ACA will only be worse. Probably a single payer system and a substantially higher payroll tax, thus forcing everyone that earns a wage to pay. Once Single Payer arrives there will be delays, declines, and low quality healthcare. Just like the Brits, Canadians, you need to seek treatment overseas and pay out of your own pocket.
Up 25% this year for me. Up 500% over ten years for an annual rate of what, about 17.5%? CPI for the same time interval: +22% (roughly 2% p.a.)
Everything is fucking bullshit and we're probably only a year or two from the point where it collapses. If rent is 50% of disposable income and health care is 50% of disposable income, that leaves 0% for energy/fuel/food/clothing etc etc.
I just hope the socialist parasise offered up in the collapse implodes much faster that the crony capitalist one did.
My plans are pretty much to unplug from society, the only thing it seems to offer most working people today is unlimited attempts at stealing from them.
Despite an international uproar and condemnation by President Obama and nearly all of those running for the presidency, Donald Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims coming to the United States has the support of a sizable majority of Republicans – and a plurality of all voters.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 66% of Likely Republican Voters favor a temporary ban on all Muslims entering the United States until the federal government improves its ability to screen out potential terrorists from coming here. Just 24% oppose the plan, with 10% undecided.
Among all voters, 46% favor a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, while 40% are opposed. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.
Although cartoons generally depict caricatures of actual entities or situations, in this case the (morbidly obese) patient on the gurney is a fairly accurate portrayal...
I still don't get it. Obamacare was never about socialized medicine. It was always about enriching the insurance, pharm and medical corporations. Why are we seeing this kind of cartoon now? Is this some kind of time-delayed reaction? What was Ramirez saying about Obamacare before it went into effect? That it was socialism? Or did he know what it was back then?
I live in France and I am extremely grateful for a socialized medical system that provides excellent healthcare at a much lower cost than healthcare in the US. I will never go broke from being sick. I can choose private care and pay for additional private insurance if I choose. If this is one of the evils of socialism, bring on the Politiburo, baby!
What is America's problem with Obamacare? Because you THINK it's socialism? Or because it's forced capitalism (i.e. Fascism)? Or that you are all simply pissed off at high healthcare costs, high insurance costs, a nation which will never give you any chance of succeeding and are trying to blame something, anything? "Hey, let's blame the black guy!" Maybe it's not racist. But the origins of Obamacare go back to Dick Nixon and HMO's
Well, you can always solve Obamacare by blowing up another third world country. How about sub-Saharan Africa? Angola probably deserves it.
You are all just a bunch of white racists who can't stand the fact that a low IQ black man figured out how to save everyone $2500 a year on their healthcare insurance.
Obummer didn't save anybody no $2500...wait until you see what the penalty is for not having any healthcare insurance this year. They'll be hit with a heafty $900+ fine against their 2015 tax returns.
The pic is wrong, guy should be laying on his stomach. Barry went in from the front, Barry goes in by the backdoor ie the nickname. Makes it easier to lift the wallet also.
My parents are forced to work for the county hospital to health benefits for both me and themselves for being old. I get most of my cancer treatment paid by the county with a 10 dollar co-pay and 100 dollar hospital visit.

Here comes another Fatwa read from the teleprompter ;-)
Looney
Has anyone actually paid the fine for not buying into this shit-caravan?
I'd like to think the patient is Jonathan Gruber. He's still on the "terminate with extreme prejudice" list when the reset comes.
To his credit, at least 'ole Hans Gruber ('Clay --- Bill Clay...') came out & said what the scam was all about, least of which was 'affordable' health care.
Like any of this is a surprise. What exactly does government do with out fucking it up?
i dunno, my corporate masters provide my insurance.
And when they finally decide you ain't worth it, you will have no place to go but the Obamacare tit....if you qualify.
"i dunno, my corporate masters provide my insurance."
But you completely own the high deductable!
FWIW: Health insurance still comes out of your pocket. Via no wage increases or they deduct it from your paycheck. its a lose-lose for everyone!
Yes. My understanding is there were several people who started paying earlier this year, as they are independent contractors/sole-proprietors who opted to pay the fine, and hence on their first quarter taxes, they paid the fine.

I paid the first year. Can't remember what it was but it was well under $100.,, wanna say $40 but too lazy to go check.
And its 9 fucking hundred plus now???????

Diet & exercise help insure your health. Your high deductible "health insurance" insures your financial assets.
Catastrophic Christian Healthcare Ministries plan is $45 per month.
My sister does income taxes as a business. The answer is YES, a lot of them, my niece included an she can't afford it.
I don't think anyone pays the fine as an individual item, it's all hidden in the irs mumbo jumbo. If you have to pay taxes on April 15th its that much more. If you're supposed to get a refund its that much less.
Or about one month's worth of insurance.
Less than one month. My renewal just came in the mail today. $1400+/mo plus another $600 for the HSA which never seems to have any money in it.
And that's with a $12000 deductible per person, but only $24000 for the whole family, so we get that added benefit.
It's just Obama's way of forcing you to live a healthier life style....or just die. Either way is good for him.
ACA is imploding but unfortunately it's taking a damn long time to do it. Would be nice if Congress helped it along but we can't count on House / Senate for anything.

I joined a "legal" sharing ministry. It's cheaper and will actually help people.
Managed to remove his brain, spine and balls, also.
Too many are tolerating that asshole.
Pickpocketed ..... this is why we gots no fiat to go out and buy moar shiny things
It's called a "wallet biopsy", where they check what insurance coverage you have before they do any of the really expensive stuff. Like touch you.
I wish it applied to illegal aliens and our prison population.
Miffed;-)
UP 19% this year.
Up $2200 last year.
sure am glad its free. Id hate to see what a non-free program would cost me.
well they both cost alot and when you need to use them they claim no responsibility due to:

Politicians are the easiest people to operate on, their spineless, gutless, and you can interchange their head and ass.

Ramirez is one of the best cartoonists.

Are you trying to sound stupid? What's the problem with your healthcare bill doubling so illegal aliens can get it for free?
Welcome to "Cluster-Care"!

They can shove their penalty up Obama's ass.

Seriously
LiarGreedyPervertAddictObama has brought disgrace to all the colored people
He should have become a model BlackPresident (of good)
But he has become an epitome of all the worst evil
And all colored people stand ashamed
because of him

Moreover he does not realize
that all his (evil) intentions are as clear as glass
thats the most stupid part
