Americans' Faith In "Good Times Ahead" Plunges To 15-Month Lows
Americans' belief that the country "will have good times for the next 12 months" has plunged. With the biggest YoY drop in 3 years, and despite stocks near record-highs and The Fed telling everyone how awesome everything is, the fewest people believe good time are ahead since September 2014.
We are sure a rate hike is just what Americans need to get confident again!!

Wrong.
2:15 pm - only down 230. we'll see who wants to buy and hold over the weekend.
The whole world seems to be going absolutely crazy. Stay safe ZH friends!
Bring at least some of whatever wealth you still have a little closer to your own hands...
My personal outrage of the day is employer mandated flu vaccinations. It's impossible to be just left alone.
Well if you would have just complied like a good American a decade ago, they wouldn't be forced to push the 'compliance' into your veins. Crazy world indeed.
I work for a national publicly held company who offers but does not force vacinations. When I say "no thanks" the looks I get from colleagues are priceless. I've stopped trying to explain, not worth the effort on the brain dead indoctrinated sheeple.
All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine -spicoli
They asked the wrong question. It should have been phrased: "Assuming that war and depression make for good times, will the country have good times in the next 12 months?"
It seems to me the bleating sheeple might be catching a clue?
three years too late unfortunately.
Sure, hike it a quarter... that way I can get 0.0026% interest at the bank.
Of course, a home equity loan is over 6%.
I call that Usury.
"i'm lovin' it..."
Sincerely,
Ronald McDonald
Good times were off-shored.
You reap what you sow.
We'll have good times as soon as an American born, non muslim, white male northern European descendent assumes residence in the Oval Office.
So you're backing Hillary I take it. ;->
Ha! Excellent!
I guess I should've specified a non pant suit wearing male =)
Do you honestly believe that it will make any difference whatsoever which freak, clown or witch gets to sit in that big chair?
The Angelo Saxon's will rise again.
Just as soon as football and hockey season is over and they lose all of the fat they've gained.
Any day now, that and Jesus coming back to Earth will happen.
Ahem ... the Anglo Saxon'S WHAT?
One way or another ;). We're the only one's stocking up on the right provisions...
I need to hit up the "Good Times" people for their dealer.
j/k. I don't do drugs, but I'm seriously considering starting.
I know you are j/k, but drugs are not worth it. Even alcohol for 12% of us is too dangerous.
Three years sober. And it's been the right choice, even in a world heading towards the cliff.
How do you manage? Religion? Meditation? (I'm absolutely sincere)
I hit an unacceptable bottom. It was just time to give it up. My wife helped.
AA. Religion then came along naturally. *
It's been a little rocky though. I had to drop out of ZH for over a year as it was not helping me get tranquility.
* Emmet Fox: The Sermon on the Mount (for those inclined)
Thank you for your response. The world is growing more insane by the day, and ZH (which lays it all out) is depressing (but, I'm addicted). Kudos to your wife.
The Blue pill is a temporary option, the red pill must always be swallowed, it's in the small print.
Ok. We end this. Go go go
Thanks a lot Trump.
So, you got 3 down votes because your comment didn't make any sense.
Since most people are stupid and could not predict tomorrow's sunrise... I'll say things are likely to improve.
Just out from Kaiser, foodstamps are up in a bunch of states with Nevada tanking again at #1 in ranking of level of economic distress.

Interesting Chris Christie's economic miracle for NJ still has it at #4 in the country for economic distress...lots of energy states in the top 10 too.
What might one expect from a Governor whose former highest office was "Freeholder." (Oh aside from acting as a top notch BSer and fundraiser for Dubyah!)
These statistics indicate that the most logical course of action would be: "Go North young man, Go North!"
"It's fallen down and it can't get up...!"
See you next yr ZHers! This is one American who's going to see good times ahead for the next four weeks in
the Far East: http://www.booking.com/hotel/jp/hakusen.html
What are Amercians doing to help themselves? Buying foreign goods. Spending astounding amounts per month 'staying connected' or paying for cable TV. The list for this self-sabotage is near endless.
The culture must change and will do so by necessity. Better to get ahead of it.
Just got my annual bonus. $197. I'm confident that next year will be better. Maybe $200. Chin up and soldier ahead.
