Rode my beloved TZA down to the 1:00 bar low then exited, seems we're seeing a 'surprise' 1:30 VWAP attempt (they set their clocks in the Bahamas by this peculiar phenomenon), obvious question is : do we get a 2nd afternoon leg down? Though IWM just nearly filled the early Oct gap, the other indices aren’t even close – which could make for some lumpy stockings hanging by the fire as December unfolds …
If you don't mind my asking.......What indicators are you using to see a 1:00 'bar low' ? Thanks in advance, KZ
Had a hunch the 1:00 bar would mark a pause, based on: a) volume bursts on 2-min charts for TNA/TZA; b) the top of the early Oct gap on Daily charts being pierced; c) the weekly 150 MA hit, with algos likely lurking; d) COMP had hit it's 100 DMA, and IWM often moves in sympathy w/ larger index DMA bounces; e) despite red 1:00 bar, hourly Stochastic reading actually increased slightly -- so when it started to back off at 12:42, I figured TZA it would return again to it's high (or IWM low), which is typical ('double touches' often mark interim lows), so I grabbed it near the high.
As you know, nothing is foolproof, and I may end up kicking myself for not staying in. With triple-leveraged funds, being even 10 min late or early can erase profits, all you can do is play probabilities you see from experience, but also realize you're human and they're not, taking a nice profit by lunchtime rather than wait out a potentially harrowing afternoon of algo battles is not a bad idea, as bottoms only appear in hindsight.
