The rate hike is transitory.

Go back to the October minutes and find the sentence that basically says, "If we don't hike ... even just a little ... nobody will find us credible."  They can do 25bp this time around, but there is no way market rates will prevail with $200T+ debt in the world without destroying the world as we know it.

B I N G O !!!  You are the winner.  The point of this next exercise is exactly that...to destroy the world as we know it and make it into the one THEY want...

The problem with having a working democratic republic that happens to be the wealthiest, free-est nation on earth is that the elected leaders have zero incentive to actually try to be better than other countries.

America was a victim of it's own success.

Which nation are you referring to a free-est?

Perhaps you meant the nation where the most people get free stuff? So a nation with the largest FSA?

I'm referring to the U.S. of A, immediately after WW1.

Sorry,

The Federal Reserve and Personal Income Tax were both established in 1913.

You'll need to go further back...

The fed did not immediately destroy freedom. It's founding, however, did almost immediately correspond with becoming the richest nation on the planet.

I think you'd better check the stats on things like wealth and being free, seems to me there's a lot of debt tied to that weath (leveraged) and IIRC we're not so up there when it comes to freedom based on the ranking that was posted not so long ago.

America now is a consequence of the lifecycle of empires.

Martin Shkreli (pictured) is a Jewish businessman (he has relatives living in Albania, and is often referred to as an Albanian). Though his Wikipedia page says he is Albanian and Croatian, he was born and raised in Brooklyn, went to Baruch College, worked for uber-Jewish hedge fund manager Jim Cramer in his teens.

The economy is a fiction novel as it is, so if they want their rate hike to not hurt it then that's how they write that chapter. Over and out.
