MSNBC Anchor Stunned By Trump-Putin Lovefest

Tyler Durden's picture

Following Vladimir Putin's 'endorsement' of The Donald, explaining his hope for "a more substantial, deeper relationship," with America, Trump has reciprocated the show of respect by thanking the Russian president for the "great honor." This mutual back-patting stunned MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough, who exclaimed, Putin "is a person who kills journalists, political opponents and invades countries," to which Trump responded, silencing Scarborough, "he's running his country, and at least he's a leader, unlike what we have in our country."

“It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond,” the GOP presidential front-runner told supporters at a rally in Columbus, Ohio.

"I have always felt that Russia and the United States should be able to work well with each other towards defeating terrorism and restoring world peace, not to mention trade and all of the other benefits derived from mutual respect,” he added. However, as The Hill reports,"Morning Joe" co-host Joe Scarborough was not impressed...

Putin "is a person who kills journalists, political opponents and invades countries"

To which Trump responded...

"Certainly over the last couple of years they've respected him as a leader. I think he's up in the 80s, where you see Obama is in the 30s and low 40s — and he's up in the 80s," Trump said of Putin's popularity.

"I don't know who does the polls, maybe he does the polls," Trump added.

"You obviously condemn Vladimir Putin killing journalists and political opponents, right?" Scarborough asked.

"Well I think our country does plenty of killing also, Joe, so..." Trump said, trailing off.

“I would get along with him,” Trump said in September. “I would get along with a lot of the world leaders that this country is not getting along with.”

He's also said Putin does not respect President Obama."Oh sure, absolutely," Trump responded.

GOP rivals such as former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush have gone after Trump over his endorsement from Putin, who critics have blasted over his country's response to events including the situation in Ukraine.

"To get praise from Vladimir Putin is not going to help Donald Trump," Bush told CNN on Thursday evening.

“I would get along with him,” Trump said in September. “I would get along with a lot of the world leaders that this country is not getting along with.” He's also said Putin does not respect President Obama.

Clearly you're an idiot if you think $18 trillion is "jack-shit."  How fraudulent, trying to minimize our looming debt by saying "we are all f'ed anyway."  I never claimed they were doing well economically. You were throwing stones while failing to realize the same could be said about the US.  "Russian influence is shrinking, as is their economy.."

Because Putin has so much respect for Obama....

Our realtionship with Russia has crumbled under Obama.  Putin has him sized up as a diplomatic and mental lightweight.

Name one thing where Russia is globally ahead of where it was in 2008....

Russian actions in the Ukraine is comparable to a hypothetical situation where a Mexican sponsored coup in Texas is being countered by the National Guard smuggling guns to freedom fighters in Wichita Falls....

You know, you may be right. I've noticed in every photo, Putin looks very troubled, very preoccupied, you could say almost on the verge of panic. He certainly doesn't project the air of dignified purpose and grand American might that President Obama does in his pegged golf pants on the links or throwing out the first pitch of the season looking every bit like a pre-teen girl softball benchwarmer.

I don't know what kind of idiotic moron this Joe Scarborough is, but he must be mentally deficient to come up with this bullshit? Putin "is a person who kills journalists, political opponents and invades countries,"

The following is what most Russian people think of Vladimir Putin. He is a man that loves Russia and it's people. A man that will not bend and a man that stands up for the Orthodox Church, traditional families and ordinary people. He is a man that says what he feels and is not a spineless "politically correct" wimp like most American leaders. Vladimir Putin personally had a hand in the revival of the Orthodox Church and stands firm in protecting it across the vast Russian landscape. This in sharp contrast to current American leaders that rebuke anything Christian.

Putin is against the anglo led NWO and will not allow Russia to ever become a vassal state of the US. For all of these reasons the US Govt and its media (Joe Scarborough) falsely accuse and demonize Putin and continously lie to the American people about him. Russian people love him!

Civilians (women and children included) have been dying by the hundreds of thousands in Syria for years while the US neocons continued to support the proxy armies that contributed to the instability.

In the end whatever is left of the world will remember the American neocons. How THEY with NATO needlessly brought the planet to World War III in a power hungry desire for world hegemony. If anyone will be remembered with Hitler, Stalin and Mao it will be Obama, Nuland, McCain, and Graham along with the spineless EU leadership.

Putin will be a man remembered by Russians and the Holy Church for his deep Orthodox Christian Faith, his strength, integrity, resolve and patience in dealing with the evil war mongering neocons that will start the nuclear holocaust that will be known as WW III.

I have to disagree. The people haven't had a chance. Look at this latest spending bill. We are an oligarchy not a democracy. We were founded as a republic and became a cabal of crony capitalists during the civil war. Much of this game has been hidden (occulted) from "the people" through purposely flawed "public education", false history, propaganda and a focus on trivialities rather than a trained and self sufficient populace.

One can have empathy for "the people", but refuse to be "tolerant" of their violence against reason and functionality.

Last thing: the ruling class (don't fool yourself because thats what they call themselves "the human power elite") want you, your family, your soul and consciousness . . .

DEAD

educate yourself, more importantly strive to do right every day

Its easy to be a cynic, it is tough to be a worthwhile stoic.
Bash it all you want but much of what is good in the world you enjoy was built by Christian faith based peoples. Over 80% of innovations came from France, Italy, Germany etc . . . western civilization.

Trump may be a bombastic guy, but if he's willing to put up a fight against the anti-human agenda of the elite, (time will tell) I wish him well and I wish all of the ZH readers well who do the same.

You lost me at "Christian faith". I doubt that any of the great inventors and innovators were motivated by Christian faith. In fact religion everywhere has been the anchor on innovation and invention. The world would be a better place if people turned within and to each other for answers instead of without to bibles, koran, torah, TV preachers, imams and such and their fellow traveler politicians.

Even the casual 'playa' in political science can tell you the most effective form of government is a 'benign dictator'. Democracy is about the most difficult form of government but it is the best so far at protecting the rights of individual man. It has been and always will be a battle to maintain it because other ways look so 'easy' and 'simplistic'.

For all intent and purposes, Putin is a dictator. He has a president and the Duma. But he runs the country. By all appearances he does it well. The U.S. created a mess in the Ukraine and NEMA. And Putin did not get all crazy/beligerent about it and came out looking like the 'negotiator for peace'.

But he is a dictator.

And Trump is having a love fest with him. And more than one of his statements would be against the constitution.

This is what scares me not only about Trump but the popularity he is enjoying. Sort of reminds me of another country in the late 1920s.

Be careful of who you chose for role models.

Putin is in no sense a dictator.  A strong man in a powerful office in a political system that is still developing relative to that office, but not a dictator.

Even dictators aren't for long.  They are far too dangerous and get wrapped in layers to insulate them from others for mutual safety.

The problem with benign dictators is the definition of 'benign'.  It is prone to drift, controlled by the dictator.

Why the hell is anyone even watching MSNBC? What does MSNBC have to do to discredit itself enough to get people to stop watching?

I am not advocating anyone watch Jerry Springer, but it would be a major step up intellectually from anything on MSNBC.

What the Donald sees is that we need Putin more than he needs us.  China can only be controlled if we and the Soviets are working together to control them.   The Chinese are like the borg, no morals, real end justifies the means stuff, and will stop at nothing to get what they want.  The Chinese are the real danger here.

The more the MSM piles on (Like those shit heads at the WSJ and MSNBC et al.)  the more I like the Donald.   He has them in a fit because he, and the rest of us, dont care what the MSM says any more.  Call me and Donald racist?  Fuck you.  Call me and Donald Nazies?  Fuck You.  Pile on and my resolve becomes more firm.

Nate Silver has said that there is no way that the Donald can win.  Ok.  In the interest in ful disclosure, I have a masters degree in statistics and have been looking at the polling data my self.   Not only can Donald win, but he will win.  Hillary, the post menapausal sea hag has very serious negatives.  Men hate her, and women are not so cool with her eiither.

So what to do?  I have signed up to be a voting day precinct captain.  Get involved!!!  Do what you can to make the election safe and honest.   You really can make a difference.

What a wonderful time to be alive.   You just cant buy this level of entertainment at any price.

Don't forget whistle blowers.  Barry doesn't like whistle blowers.  Who has attacked more countries since Putin has been the Russian leader?  USA or Russia?  Who kills wedding parties in the middle east with drones piloted by meth addicts from half way around the world?

President Putin EARNED the respect he gets from the Russian People and others around the world. He didn't just waltz in on a Diebold election machine, like Obama and demand respect because of a position given to him for politically correct attributes rather than ability to handle the job. And he has a bonified Russian birth certificate to boot.

WTF is JS' problem?  Russia Invading Crimea?  How far does he have his head up his Arse?

Does anyone have proof on Journalists being killed on President Putin's Personal Orders?

Also, does JS gloss over POTUS_Obama's Drone-Kill List he boasted presiding over?  What about all the other deaths caused by Drone Strikes at Weddings, etc?  Couldn't they at least track down the Car of the "Targeted Terrorist" and drone that instead of allegedly wiping out entire Wedding Parties?

Putin "is a person who kills journalists, political opponents and invades countries"

MSNBC is just another wing of the propaganda machine. Joe Scarborough like most reporters in the USA is highly critical of all nations but his own. Other than the Ukraine/Crimea Russia has done very little in the way of invading countries.

I'd feel better if he'd state that the past 4 presidents in the USA have virtually bankrupted the country. The current president Obama is without a doubt the most blood thirsty president of them all and has helped destroy the constitution.

Also, The USA have invaded countless countries over the years and the most recent conflict in Syria and the middle east has resulted in the murder of millions of citizens. Not one word of this stated by Joe (Blow) Scarborough. What this dipshit doesn't say is that the Middle East wars were planned years ago by the CIA and the Pentagon and would involve the invasion of 7 countries and the annihilation of their respective governments and with completely no regard for the lives of the citizens.

So, if Joe Shithead wants to be a good interviewer he should state the truth to the public who often don't care to know what actually is going on in this world.

Any country with 13 time zones and resources like Russia has could make a much better ally than enemy. Ever look at a world map? A globe maybe. We have become a nation of sack less men groomed by the females and sack less men that have taken over our education systems. Singing Barney songs to fight the Russkies will not get huh very far. I remember the crawl under your desk and kiss your ass goodbye drills in the 60s classrooms. Do we really want to go back there ?

I don't get MSNBC where I live.  I think Canada banned it due to the excessive amount of inappropriate fictional content.

But I have a question.  That host on the right, the guy... what's wrong with him?  He seems so blatantly biased, throwing Trump all kinds of bait that Trump doesn't fall for, that I wonder if he is unaware that hundreds of people are probably watching MSNBC.  Doesn't he care that he comes off as an idiot and an obvious shill?  He's one of those guys who, if you met him on the street you'd want to... you know... kick him in the nuts.
