Not The Onion: Poll Shows 30% Reps & 19% Dems Support Bombing Fictional City From Aladdin

If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.

– Thomas Jefferson

Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right, from the frame of their nature, to knowledge, as their great Creator, who does nothing in vain, has given them understandings, and a desire to know; but besides this, they have a right, an indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible, divine right to that most dreaded and envied kind of knowledge, I mean, of the characters and conduct of their rulers. Rulers are no more than attorneys, agents, and trustees, of the people; and if the cause, the interest, and trust, is insidiously betrayed, or wantonly trifled away, the people have a right to revoke the authority that they themselves have deputed, and to constitute other and better agents, attorneys and trustees.

– John Adams

Something that is often overlooked in our indictment of the corrupt status quo, is that one of the main reasons crony politicians and rapacious multinational corporations are able to so seamlessly pull off their unethical schemes is that a large percentage of the voting public is little more than a mass of ignorant zombies.

Proof of just how dangerous this ignorant mob can be was perfectly illustrated by a recent Public Policy poll which showed 30% of Republicans and 19% of Democrats support bombing Agrabah, the invented city from the animated Disney movie Aladdin.

Ladies and gentleman, I introduce to you the American primary voter.

From the Guardian:

Almost one-third of Republican primary voters would support bombing the fictional kingdom of Agrabah, according to a report released by Public Policy Polling on Friday.

More than 530 Republican primary voters were polled this week on their support for Republican candidates and foreign policy issues including banning Muslims from entering the US, Japanese internment camps from the second world war and bombing Agrabah, the kingdom from Disney’s animated classic, Aladdin.

In its poll, Public Policy Polling asked the 532 Republicans: “Would you support or oppose bombing Agrabah?” While 57% of responders said they were not sure, 30% said they supported bombing it. Only 13% opposed it.

Public Policy Polling also polled Democratic primary voters: only 19% of them said they would support bombing Agrabah, while 36% said they would oppose it.

According to the PPP, “[Donald] Trump is at 45% with Republicans who want to bomb Aladdin and only 22% with ones who don’t want to bomb Aladdin.”

One in four of those polled by the PPP said that Islam should be illegal in the US and that they support the US policy of Japanese internment during the second world war.

What First Amendment?

And you wonder why things are the way they are. These are the people who will choose the Presidential nominees for each corrupt political party.

Bomb Obamaville - the city that destroys people and businesses with soul crushing regulations and overbearing taxes - but gives you "free" health care that actually costs you twice what it used to cost you... or go to jail.  Oh, and the city is a gun-free zone with the highest gun murder rates on earth.

"The American public, as a general statement, has got to be the dumbest bunch of people on the planet."

Canadians are right up there with the dumbest bunch of people on the planet.  They just elected a NWO leftist fag like Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister who vowed to airlift 25,000 Syrian Muslims into Canada by January 1st.

Meanwhile, nearly a quarter of the Muslims polled in the U.S. believed that, “It is legitimate to use violence to punish those who give offense to Islam by, for example, portraying the prophet Mohammed" and nearly one-fifth of Muslim respondents said that the use of violence in the United States is justified in order to make shariah the law of the land in this country.

Why is it sad?

The author is obviously predisposed to glass-half-empty pessimism, but his argument is predicated on 100% familiarity with some Disney fantasy.

The asked a bunch of Repubican primary voters a question with three possible answers- YES, NO, or I DON'T KNOW.

Only 30% coughed up the brain dead YES answer, where 70% repsonded with NO or I DON'T KNOW.

57% responding I DON'T KNOW to any poll question should be encouraging, because it is an honest answer.

Show me a poll a Democrat primary voters where 57% are willing to admit THEY DON'T KNOW something.

People act like this is some kind of poor theater performance they can walk out of into a bright day of reality.

O RLY

Here is how it really is. You finally manage to walk out one stage door (after an exhausting struggle, mind you) and straight into another part of the same shit show. Different actors, different stage, exact same script word-for-word.

It's called the human world and it's not going away anytime soon except that it takes all of us out with it. And no you do not want me to elaborate on that point.

I know it doesn't exist, but if I were a supporter who lived in Bevery Hills and the name of the bombee town were changed to Beverly Hills I wouldn't support it, neither would the rest of Beverly Hills or other Americans.

To my way of thinking the people living in Beverly Hills are no different than people anywhere, except they may have more money.

Why wish a bombing on any city where 99% of casualities are civilians?

That is the problem with bombs.  Go after killers for self defense purposes.  Don't take out the people you say you are defending.

Nebraska I said.

Where is that? They said.

Just south of Maine.  I said.

I would bet that for both the bomb and not bomb group, the contraries still do not question what they're bombing. I support the president, but I think bombing Agrabah would just create more Agrabi terrorists - ain't nobody got time for that.  I bet 60-70% of respondents could point to Agrabah on a map, not care the map said "Disney" on it.  75%

Question used on R's: "With all the recent terror attacks, if the terrorists were based out of a city in the Mid East, like, say, that filthy cesspool Agrabah, would you support bombing it?

Question used on D's: "Should the city of Agrabah, made up for the Disney cartoon movie Aladdin, be bombed?" And 19% still said yes.

Keep them stoned, Keep them Stoopid. (it's a f*&kin' plant, can't you grow it Outside in the Sunshine?)
=============================================

Pot’s not green.

The $3.5 billion U.S. cannabis market is emerging as one of the nation’s most power-hungry industries, with the 24-hour demands of thousands of indoor growing sites taxing aging electricity grids and unraveling hard-earned gains in energy conservation.

Without design standards or efficient equipment, the facilities in the 23 states where marijuana is legal are responsible for greenhouse-gas emissions almost equal to those of every car, home and business in New Hampshire. While reams of regulations cover everything from tracking individual plants to package labeling to advertising, they lack requirements to reduce energy waste.

Some operations have blown out transformers, resulting in fires. Others rely on pollution-belching diesel generators to avoid hooking into the grid

Actually, the organic-vegan weed I buy is cheap. Legalization lowers the price to reality levels.

So basically, 20 bucks an eighth /150 an ounce and cheaper. Hell lots of people grow it themselves in Colorado. Imagine that! Freedom! Such a novel concept!

And when I went to Colorado you can see the weed they are growing for people and it's not 'mass wharehouses" of big corporations.

Sorry but that is just complete nonsense.

I've got an even better one.

I was talking about the Georgia/ Russia war with a co worker when another one of my fellow clock punchers accused me of being "full of shit".

he insisted that I made it all up and Russia did not invade Georgia in 2008, his reason being that if they had we would have seen it in the news, it would have been a very big deal and Washington would have nuked Moscow if they dared try to invade the US.

I'm not kidding here.

anyways after explaining that there was in fact a country named Georgia and it was involved in a war with Russia it got me wondering, so I took an informal poll and guess what?

everybody I asked about the topic thought I was talking about the state and thought I was making it up or was totally confused as to how they could not remember such a monumental event in American history.

yep.

all I could think to myself is this would make for a great Mark Dice video...

"where were you in 2008 when Russia invaded Georgia"?

hey, maybe we should ask people how they feel about bombing Agrabah's neighbor  Mordoristan as well, I mean as long as we're in the neighborhood right?

That really says nothing. 57% said not sure which means they would have liked to ask more question. (Such as where is this place.) The percentages that voted for or against would just be voting based on an already baked in proclivity for war or not for war.

That being said I guarantee the results are way different if you the place was referred to as "Aladdin" as of course the article immediately jumps to which is disingenuous at best.

In my view all this article has proven is how you pull the strings of.....Zerohedge readers. The new mob, albeit the one that thinks it's it in the know therefore in the right.

To be honest I would be cool with bombing Agrabah too, I don't think you can seperate the dumb from the sarcastic with this poll.

But when you poll people and ask who wants to bomb Assad in Syria, then you get a real measure of ignorance.  Or the millions who are eager to spend billions on bombing ISIS while ignoring the inconvenient fact that most terrorists came from European Muslim (self inflicted) ghettos.
