Circa 2000 there was a student at Cornell that was brought before the campus' ethics counsel, or similar school body because he called one of his buddies a 'fag' while playing pool in the Noyes community center. His buddy was NOT offended. Rather, it was another student playing pool at a neighboring table who overheard the comment and was 'offended'. (Again, the comment was not directed at the other student and I'm not even sure the two students knew one another prior to the incident.) Welcome to the Land of the Free where only the 1st Amendment only applies to the 'right' ideology.

"We warn against celebration of Christmas, which is only for Christians," Sheikh Mohamed Kheyrow, director of Somalia’s ministry of religion, said on state radio. "This is a matter of faith. The Christmas holiday and its drum beatings have nothing to with Islam."
He said the ministry has sent letters to the police, national security intelligence and officials in the capital Mogadishu instructing them to "prevent Christmas celebrations."
The announcement had echoes of Islamist militants al Shabaab, which controlled the capital Mogadishu until 2011. Among their edicts was to ban Christmas celebrations.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the government announcement. Somalia is almost entirely Muslim, but it hosts thousands of African Union (AU) peacekeepers, including from the majority-Christian countries Burundi, Uganda and Kenya.
The country, which is struggling to emerge from two decades of fighting and chaos, has also seen a growing number of Somalis returning from Europe and North America, sometimes bringing foreign traditions and attitudes with them.
Officials also said that Christmas celebrations may attract attacks from the Islamist militants al Shabaab.

Im not religous, but I made a cross out of christmas lights and along with a nativity scene, placed it in my front yard. I am tired of all the PC blow-up santa helecopters and snowmen on peoples lawns. I figured, show some respect to the reason for the season.

A glimpse into an alternative demographic of Merka:
- Folks too old for the internet, who rely on teevee, are near totally brain-dead, brainwashed, into the neocon or socialist ways. Accordingly, they worship politics and king dollar, and Israel-first everything and its wars (a big "voting" block, if you're into that).
- Middle aged are split down the middle: those smart enough to have embraced the internet and have weaned themselves off the MSM; and those numb nuts still drinking the statist cool-aid of old (the biggest "voting" block).
- Millenials are probably the smartest - they know they've been shafted by the man and his wars and entitlements, and instead focus on more positive paths toward liberty than traditional politics (and I ain't even in this group).
- The youth, represented by this uber-PC statist bullshit promoted by the red education camps.
