Drone Captures Dramatic Aftermath Of Massive Shenzhen Landslide And Rescue Effort
Any other time, the following video would be a ringing, if comical, endorsement of Keynesian economics: build it up just to tear it down again, and then build it back up again.
However, in the aftermath of Sunday's dramatic Shenzhen landslide in which a giant mound of mud and construction waste covered an area of 380,000 square meters with 10 meters of silt, leaving 33 buildings buried or damaged and 76 people missing with 2 confirmed dead, we can only hope that it helps more people like Tian Zeming, 21, the first person who was rescued early Wednesday morning, more than 60 hours after being buried by the gigantic landslide.
The video below is an aerial view of the rescue site of the landslide in the southern city of Shenzhen. More than 1,000 rescuers are involved in the operation, including armed police, transportation officials and firemen. Rescue work been hampered by loose dirt and muddy conditions.

Next week's headline:
"We found 75 bodies trapped underneath giant yellow and orange tractors."

WTF, they've got like a hundred huge excavators, but no trucks, just picking up a bucket of dirt and dumping right next to them. Getting nowhere fast.
None of the pictures I've seen have captured the scale of the slide like this drone video. Wow!
Yeah. That's a lot of yellow iron out there.
Is that racist?
Maybe that's why CAT is up the last 2 days?
33 buildings collapse and only 72 missing?...so only 2.2 people per building? Again, the power of Chinese government statistics
Apparently there was a few minutes warning and many escaped with their lives.
Just like debt, you pile it up high enough, evetually it will roll over everything in its path.
Nothing from the Taiwanese animators?
Maybe they are "buried" with other things at the moment?
watching all this excavators next to each other made me laugh so hard
Long Komatsu and Caterpillar Bitchez! Forget the Trackhoes....just line up a fleet of Cat D11A dozers and level it off......build right back on top of it...rinse lather repeat. GDP Booster.
Not even a disaster of this proportion can rescue CAT, sry for your losses.
Look at all those jobs created.
Proof positive that rules and regaulations are the bane of job growth. I want my mile high dump.
AND all the people who exited the work force.
We are some twisted individuals. Merry Christmas.
Shovel ready jobs no less.
Think of the broken windows.
They'll have it cleaned up and a new Island built with the debris by this evening.......
Wow, FUMBLE FEMA could learn a lot here.
Reminds me of floods in the mid west back in the day, where anyone with a tractor or shovel just showed up and got to work cleaning sh*t up.
That is a huge amount of material that came down. I'd really like to see a picture of the area where all that came from before the material moved. What the heck were they digging? A replica of the Grand Canyon?
Is that drone registered with the FAA?
Chinese highways make this shit show look tame by comparison.
Better dead than Red.
Bullish for CAT?
got dirt?
