Oil Is Now Cheaper Than Coffee, Milk, & Water

Tyler Durden's picture

While oil may be cheaper... But the rest of these 'staples' still taste a lot better.

It is Obama's war against Russia's largest export and Putin.

And American poodle Saudi Arabia goes along

Stakes are high as US plays the oil card against Iran and Russia

John Kerry, the US secretary of state, allegedly struck a deal with King Abdullah in September under which the Saudis would sell crude at below the prevailing market price. That would help explain why the price has been falling at a time when, given the turmoil in Iraq and Syria caused by Islamic State, it would normally have been rising.

Did the U.S. and the Saudis Conspire to Push Down Oil Prices?

Falling oil prices and the plunging ruble are not some kind of free market accident brought on by oversupply and weak demand. That’s baloney. They’re part of a broader geopolitical strategy to strangle the Russian economy, topple Putin, and establish US hegemony across the Asian landmass. It’s all part of Washington’s plan to maintain its top-spot as the world’s only superpower even though its economy is in irreversible decline.

cheaper oils is good for the consumer, bad for his job and all the other products?... They'll become cheaper also but destroy even more jobs.

And if you won't lose your job, just remember! There's 200 willing to take yours for a lower salary.

Makes zero sense. But again it does take a hell of a lot more capital to source a gallon of oil
Vs gallon of milk.

In the new normal black is white, up is down, right is left, loud is quiet, good is bad, right is wrong, and truths are lies. In other words abnormal is normal. That's why it makes sense. Welcome to the twilight zone. Hope that helps.

Okay, where in the United States is oil publicly sold for $0.83 a gallon...

p.s. from my observations over the last 20 years, a gallon of oil, a gallon of milk, and a loaf of decent bread have largely followed similar price points.

Oh well Milk situation is getting messed up with all the harmones injected into the cows. I am surprised they are still reproducing. Do they give some kinda viagra to cows to have sex and reproduce faster? Any ways drink while you can, drive while you can, This good days won't last long. Its just a matter of time. I wish housing was as low as oil. Sadly that doesn't comprise into the commodity index.

Hopefully we will live to see the Saudis feel the pinch as their wells decline and get the chance to ask them.. "was making an ass of yourself and squandering your precious resource worth the failed and miserable attempt to destroy Russia"   It will happen to us too which wont be as funny.

The author thinks that water is $1.03 per gallon? Really?

If he's buying at even half of that price, I have several million gallons available that I will be happy to deliver. Is tomorrow a good time?

"Oil Is Now Cheaper Than Coffee, Milk, & Water"

Except when it isn't. There is a whole world out there beyond the east, west and northern boundaries of the USA you know. Maybe glance at a world map sometime. Everywhere OTHER than the US and their pet oil states the price of oil FOR CONSUMERS is still well above everything else, except for maybe booze and dope. Another misleading headline brought to you by your friends at Zero Hedge, where there is no truth like their truth -- except when it isn't the truth. It's why there is no catastrophe in Canada, because the price at the pump is still where it was when oil was $140bbl you twits. Tax revenue is still way, way up this year and the big guys in the tar-sands have cash to burn for years before they actually start to hurt. Hell, Imperial Oil is still hiring! Aside from a few losers nothing is going to change much -- at least not until the commies Nothead and Turdeau wreck things with their rainbow-unicornhole-topia economic plans.

How does the price of silver compare to aluminum pull-tabs? Or stainless steel washers? Or bricks or paving stones? A few years ago a tenth-ounce gold Eagle was worth as much or more than a good quality new tire. Is it now?
