Can Donald Trump Do No Wrong?
It appears that no matter what he says, does, or is alleged to have said or done, The Donald's rating continue to rise. As Bloomberg notes in the following chart of his 'success' so far, Trump's controversial comments appear highly correlated with his poll standings as the latest poll shows his support is now larger than that of his next three rivals combined...
And with George Soros out anti-campaigning, we can only imagine how high Trump's poll standings will go next.

Trump is not considered a politician which is his strength. All of the other candidates on both sides are career politicians. People are waking up to the fact that we have been electing politicians for decades with no results. Big Politics is scared shitless by Trump.
The result has been that politicians think they can turn against the people without consequence. So far, they're right.
When brain-dead jackwagons like Maxine Waters can get re-elected over and over, I fail to see much hope for the equally brain-dead, average 'Merican!
A Trump presidency would be refreshing at least in knowing our President is publicly a moron than privately a moron.
And he probably would be better than the list of corrupt morons who got the job during the past 25 years; certainly no worse than Jimmah or Tricky Dickie or LB Jerkoff.
Trump might say the things that the PC crowd says you can't say in "polite" company but he is hardly a moron.

That's what makes this whole business so enjoyable to watch. He is NOT a moron. Morons don't achieve his kind of success. Until recently I belonged to the same herd but once I really began to pay attention him in action I've done a one-eighty. Now I worry he'll be eliminated, he's probably the first real threat to the powers that be who has arisen for a long time. Unfortunately he has children and a wife so no matter what he can be manipulated.

I am not a Trump supporter, but, even I, disagree with how the Media misrepresents his positions. People can clearly see and resent those lies and respond by supporting Trump.
His enemies say that Trump would ban all Muslims from America or that Trump would keep a special database on Muslims or that he thinks that all Mexicans are rapists. None of that is remotely close to what Trump said.
Nor did he declare that McCain was not a hero or that Megyn Kelly was on the rag.
Trump gets in trouble enough from what he really says, so why should his enemies lie so much?

Well said. Trump may not say things in a PC way, but the pundits keep ignoring the fact that he is talking about issues important to many voters - and often he is the only one talking about it. The other candidates could help themselves by talking about those same issues, rather than just trashing 'how' Trump says something.
How about he talks about gutting the federal government, which is the #1 issue. I guess since he's been a lifetime Statist he can't discuss that.
indeed. the #1 threat to America is the fed gov. Exactly how to get rid of it is the question. Then we come full circle back to the debates re the fed plan of 1787, which led to votes by the colonies up or down to ratify it. I suppose the governors of each state could unanimously revoke their allegiance to it and declare their independence from it. The we have 50 states not bound to a common link. That raises the only issue Hamilton raised that was worth anything, and that is if the states are all sovereign and independent, then this leads to warring on the continent, like the bad old days in Europe (and as history proved going forward). With at least the 48 contiguous states united that would on paper lend to a peaceful result.
The question is on what basis, really, ought these states relate to each other, assuming they are sold on the idea for the sake of physical, continental stability, be united? What role should fed gov play?
The original constitution purportedly addressed it all, but it is obvious there are a few conspicuous loopholes, or missing language. I suspect the character of the men was far better in 1787 than today. Let's say we scuttled fed gov, reset the whole thing, then held a second constitutional convention, where the books were wiped clean of all prev fed jurisprudence. Who would show up? Who would be allowed to attend? What would *their* 'constitution' look like?

I love the idea of dumping the fed gov and resetting, ratifying the original constitution by:
Expressly stating a State has a right to secede that cannot be usurped by fed gov, and that the agreement to cooperate with the united States is voluntary and cannot be compelled by force
Deleting 13, 14, 15, 16 amendments (have to check 17-27)
Delete the 3/5 person thing
Expressly forbid private fiat fractionalized 'banking' systems to control the nation's money supply
Expressly forbid income tax
Expressly forbid any govt mandates that look like a tax, and act like a tax but are called by another name (like Obama care)
Expressly forbid the President as commander in chief from being able to give any order to the military w/o the express super-majority of both houses
Expressly forbid the President from making executive orders
Expressly forbid property taxes
Expressly state that the only tax the govt can grab can arise only from a commercial transaction
Expressly forbid nation building preemptive offensive military operations
Expressly forbid all foreign aid unless it is for purely humanitarian purposes and only to countries that have very low GDPs (like very poor ones) and only with the express approval of a super-majority of both houses of congress
Expressly state the people have the right to bear arms that equally match whatever military capability the fed gov has as a supreme right not to be violated for the purpose that the ppl can have the full assurance it can defend themselves against any attempted tyrannical encroachment of the fed gov

There will have to be language to clamp down on treaties, to underline the sovereignty of the nation shall always be of the paramount concern and so on.
But that is only a dream.
The only way out of this is secession. I prefer a purely 100% Christian nation, no zionists, no old testament, only love God and neighbor. In this world, that will never happen. I'll have to die first and see if there isn't a little improvement.

I do like your points you outline, but would prefer to see us enforce the constitution as it is right now. The founding fathers must have had some wonderful pillow talk with some founding mothers. The document is spectacular. Even with the flaws you outline that are against the original intent, lets enforce some of the damn laws on the books already before we go to the mats and change the constitution itself.

I've heard them say "he hates Mexican", "he hates women", and of course "he hates muslims".
Having watched him speak several times (something none of the above commenters has ever done) I did not hear one instance of that type of hate.

Trump's being used - wittingly or unwittingly - as a tool to ensure another "people's choice" (i.e. Ronald Reagan) doesn't emerge at that top of the ticket. By the time he finally withdraws, it will have paved the way for someone the sponsors trust.
