Swiss Army Chief Warns Of Social Unrest, Calls Upon Citizens To Arm Themselves

Tyler Durden's picture

Swiss army chief André Blattmann warned, in a Swiss newspaper article on Sunday, the risks of social unrest in Europe are soaring. Recalling the experience of 1939/1945, Blattman fears the increasing aggression in public discourse is an explosively hazardous situation, and advises the Swiss people to arm themselves and warns that the basis for Swiss prosperity is "being called into question."

As Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten reports, speaking on the record for the first time since the November Paris terror attacks, Blattmann told the paper that despite a rise in security incidents over the past two years Switzerland’s means of defence were being reduced.

The situation is growing increasingly risky, Blattman begins.

"The threat of terror is rising, hybrid wars are being fought around the globe; the economic outlook is gloomy and the resulting migration flows of displaced persons and refugees have assumed unforeseen dimensions."

Blattmann: "Social unrest can not be ruled out", the vocabulary in public discourse will "dangerously aggressive."

"The mixture is increasingly unappetizing" Blattmann sees the basis of Swiss prosperity, "has long been once again called into question."

He recalls the situation around the two world wars in the last century and advises Switzerland, to arm themselves.

The Swiss Armed Forces had held many years ago maneuver, in which the starting point was focused on social unrest in Europe.

Swiss politicians, of course, responded with disbelief to the army chief and hold his warnings are exaggerated.

Help me out here. If US/Tel Aviv trained soldiers were to attack the Swiss bankers, would you be upset with them?

Savyindallas's picture

The army needs to pull a coup against the Deep State, take over the mainstream media, and set up true, free elections. No need to go after Obama -he's nothing but a muppet. Those unelected Oligarchs and banksters behind the scenes need to be arrested for treason and their wealth confiscated. Wall Street needs to be dismantled  -free stock exchanges set up, a new and honest SEC and government regluators not owned by the shadow government. Then if they want to turn the CIA controlled Isis assets against the banksters, let them do so before we dismantle and prosecute them.

SgtShaftoe's picture

Great thought but the military is fully captured by the defense contractors and they're some of the most evil motherfuckers on the planet.  Flag officers (O-6 and above) all work for the DoD contractors and are political appointees.  Senior enlisted and field grade /Bn Staff officers don't matter much and the quality of those field grade officers has eroded to a shell of pre 9/11 competence.  Junior enlisted are brainwashed idiots for the most part and will simply do what they're told no matter who's in charge.

So don't count on the active duty military riding in to help anybody.  You, me and everyone else here are on our own.

Best case scenario, the military will simply stand-down and not intervene during the collapse of the government, like what happened in East Germany.  In a fantasy scenario you might see company, detachment and the odd battalion level unit come out in support of civilians and the community, but I think that's a stretch.  Having some Air CAV assets a radio call away would be nice though.

First, the article is not the correct link.  This is:

Second, the translation is bad.  He is suggesting that Switzerland arm itself, not the Swiss people.  Asking a military commander if the country should arm itself is like asking a barber if you need a haircut.

Are you imlying this means they have an UNARMED ARMY?,the Swiss(pop) are in record numbers purchasing weapons, as fast as their beauracracy will allow.

Secure your borders and then you do not have to worry about being torn apart from within.

It is not rocket science. It is eternal truth that humans have practiced thoughout history.

Switzerland is the Goldman Sachs of the world banking and the head of global crime syndicate. It has benefited from the two World Wars capital flows: wholesale looting of European counties and their wealth. All the loot from global conflicts and wars ends up in Switzerland. It's acting as a globall vault for dictators, elites, oligarchs and criminals. From blood diamonds to Jews gold, its all stored in Switzerland. Switzerland is the snake head of global banking cabal. IMF, World Bank, Bank of International Settlements all operate out of Switzerland--all institutions designed for wholesale looting of countries.

There is no other place in the world with such a high concentration of hedge funds, wealth funds, vaults protected by banking secrets and global police forces.

What does Switzerland produce other than Swiss cheese and watches? Yet it's the richest country in the world with the most of world's highest cost of living cities: Zürich, Basel, Bern etc and highest concentration of billionaires.

Switzerland is nothing other than a giant parasite that allows and gives shelter to elites.

and what are "global police forces"? or is it just that you like the word "global"?

Element's picture

Maybe he/she means police, policies and politicians are an interconnected globular whole, sticking it to the citizen sucker voters, victims and victualer. Listen to their crap, decide which crap you dislike least (I can't ever decide) the vote and the police will then follow political instructions to find random reasons to use the 'law' made by politicians to do as much harm to your life as they can, for no adequately explicable reason, except that they can, for they are the 'protectors', because you stopped protecting yourself, because they made it illegal, and fined you, because it was the policy of the politicians to do that, because they could, and no one did anything about it, or else the police would destroy them and stuff, as that would be illegal.

It gets complicated.

CH hasn't been at war for 800 years. It is Europe's only truely multicultural, multilingual country, with 4 offical languages. Until the 1920's CH was Europe's poorest country, it did not benefit at all from WW1. It's banking secrecy laws have in the years since attracted money from around the world, good and bad. When it comes to money, unlike the anglosphere, the official attitude has been: "SHUT THE FUCK UP/NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS" which is pretty enlightened, actually...Billionares and their ilk are attracted to CH by its reputation for safety and security, both for them AND their money. This doesn't make the swiss evil-it makes them SMART. Other than the world's finest cheese and most sought-after watches, the swiss are a productive powerhouse in numerous industries, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, engineering, etc etc. The swiss overall are INSANELY well-educated and productive, and they accordingly enjoy one the planet's highest standards of living. If you ever manage to pull your head out of your ass you should visit CH and walk around. It is a really beautiful country and people are really friendly.....

For christ's sake stop interpreting everything into everything just so it pleases your worldview and way you'd like the world to be. It's not as simple as that!

The terror part is a policy tool to instill fear in a population and make it subservient.

The real elephant in the room and blowback is how can 1% very often not through hard work be allowed to piss, shit and fuck over the rest of their population. What right do they have to a better quality of life, certainly not earned than the rest? The 99% need not do anything wrong to be screwed over, you tend to be one of the 99% by birth, good or bad does not come into the equation.

The terrorism argument they generated did create a fear however, but it also opened up many other fearful questions of a similar nature that I have asked. Are you more fearful of being shot by a terrorist, robbed by a banker, done over by a police officer, fined for going for an innocent walk? They are all possible and TBH the terrorist argument is actually last.

After you have run around for so long, seeing terrorists on every corner, the arguments normally made by the elites or their mercs you become immune to the scare. You do however notice those shouting terrorists at the top of their voices!

Go on 1% debate what I have said ... they can't, because that is their fear, just like the terrorist the created to use against us. You cannot solve one side of this argument, you have to solve both.

What I have noticed over the last decade also is an arrogance by those elected shouting, hell demanding they are right but not prepared to justify or debate that which they preech. It's like these so called opinions from an economist they spout as if it is mathermatically correct, now go and ask a poor person what economic points they see.

There is no longer a connect between the 1% and the 99% if there ever was one and it is reflected in the economy.

Me thinks there is a point being missed.  They(the Swiss) can all carry their peashooters and when a couple dozen of them are standing in a crowd.....Mr. Muslim can pull a cord and kill all of them.  That's the point where all the logical reasoning ends and the fear of the unknown starts.   Then it's hi ho hi ho off to Germany we go with stinky pants.  The posters on the site seem to think it's going to be like back when God was alive.  Form two lines and shoot at each other.

I'd prefer Europe take all of them and we just sit back and watch.  Vlad the impaler had a purpose.

This process of the Muslims taking over is now so long in the tooth that there is no hope of stopping it.  What's done is done.  To hold the politicians responsible is not going to solve or reverse anything.

The Eurocrats have succeeded in turning Europe into a politically correct raping colony, where everyone is now free to run around chopping each others' heads off in peace.

lakecity55's picture

The Euros are only about 6-12 months ahead of the USSA.

Expect the extremist Muslims to be organized into cells supported by TPTB. Expect they will launch numerous and varied assaults on US society and its citizens.

Expect the USSA to Crack Down on the Citizen, NOT the extremists, who are supported by the Imam in the White Hut, under orders by his Zionista masters. If they cannot take advantage of a natural/organic event, they will create one to fulfill their Agenda, which is the overthrow of all Constitutional Government and the imposition of a Socialist Stasi State.

The recent thefts of propane tanks, plumbing pipe, and the mass-buying of burner cell phones all suggest various scenarios including the propane cannon used in Syria as well as IEDs and car bombs.

Too much fuckery by TPTB is getting out. They will soon have to clamp down or risk losing Authority, which they WILL enforce at gunpoint and they will not be hesitant to shoot anyone.

The Imam will be returning from Hawaii soon; he has unconstitutional gun control at the very top of his agenda; he can now go for broke. Even if "they" lose to an outraged citizenry, the US will be splintered, which is just as good a Plan B as they could expect.

Operation Stabile Due was in 2010, 5 years ago....

It assumed a massive destabilization of France spilling into CH. Now it looks like the destabilization could begin in DE.

To its credit, CH has really held the line on mooslim immigration. It is still unusual to see THEM on the street, except maybe in downtown Zurich.

Most older male citizens still have their service guns and probably some ammo stashed around. Also their father's trusty k31..If the shit really does hit the fan they'll shut down the passes and tunnels, and big stashes of guns and ammo will come out of the hills.

Here is a report of a new law in California that goes into effect on January 1st, the day after tomorrow.

PrimalScream's picture

thanks for reporting this.  I live in CA, but it has not been publicized much out here.  That law has the potential to create a lot of confusion, and some very frustrated gun owners.  I don't see it happening because of "authorities trying to confiscate weapons".  But I DO see it happening because a lot of people are semi-paranoid about almost everything.  And also, in situations such as divorces, a lot of spouses (ex-wives) are super paranoid about their ex-husbands.  If the cops go around trying to enforce this, it will definitely create really hazardous situations.

Not exactly the smartest law.  It's typical of legislatures that they throw these laws onto the books - without really "thinking through" the consequences of what they are doing.  The end result can be a disaster.  You are CORRECT that this CA law effectively gives the Government the ability to confiscate weapons from any person in California.

My wife found another heaping helping of legal treats about to be served up in old California. The good, bad & ugly all get legs on January 1st 2016. They gotta lotta nerve out there:

I am relatively certain any armed insurrection against the gov't, without the total support of the Pentagon leadership, would be futile. I would not encourage people to consider such foolhardiness because it will just get innocent people droned.

These are dangerous times and you are asking for trouble, Randy Weaver kind of trouble.....minus the huge check, talking like that.

I don't know if you noticed but, they don't really need an excuse to execute you and totally get away with it these days. Even when that shit is caught on film they still get away w/ it!

Why do you think you are so special?

If you really want a good plan then ditch the guns and buy 7.62×39mm rounds, as many as you can and bury it. If the deals goes down you will have no problem getting your hands on a gun. You will, however, find it exceedingly difficult to find this ammo. You can then trade a few dozen rounds for a brand new AK.

What good is the arsenal w/out ammo? Now the DHS is buying every round just so you can't have it! Saw the RFP for a trillion rounds of ammo a few years back. I was, like, why would the DHS need Luger ammo? Only reason I could think of is to buy it out so those that actually have a Luger can't have it!

Andre Blattman is correct ...

the mood inside Europe is certainly disintegrating.  Things aren't exactly peachy inside America either.

It seems to me that the Swiss are in a better position to protect themsevles than most other countries in Europe.  But I'm not sure why their security budget is going down.  On the positive side, don't they have a system where all citizens participate in their volunteer army?  It should create a high level of self-preparations for civil defense.
