Is Trump Winning? - Don't Show Hillary (Or Bernie) This Chart

Tyler Durden's picture

As the fervor of the US Presidential campaign begins to heat up, it appears - despite all the hand-wringing and prosecution of the status quo - that the incumbents are losing... and losing large. According to Bloomberg's Consumer Comfort survey, Republicans are near the most confident relative to Democrats since Obama was re-elected.

While "America's Goebbels" explains what 'you' should think about anyone against political correctness, it appears rage against the machine is 'winning' for now.

If you think it doesn't matter you're retarded... and part of the problem.

"Wah, wah, wah, everything is wrong in the world but I'm such a pathetic little whiner that I won't even lift my finger to put an X on a ballet to try to make things better...."

The progressives are an extreme minority, but because they're actually willing to do something (voting and beyond), they are winning.

Thu, 12/31/2015 - 13:55 | 6982408 crossroaddemon
crossroaddemon's picture

Sigh... if you thinkk what you're seeing is progressive you're delusional. We're seeing wealth and power becoming more and more concentrated, NOT spread around which is the ideology most associated with progressivism.

That said, who says I'm doing nothing? I'm just not delusional enough to think the power brokers are our firends. Once you realize there is no hope in politics, it leaves you free to do shit that matters.

Thu, 12/31/2015 - 14:11 | 6982494 Zoomorph
Zoomorph's picture

Prove that there's "no hope in politics". Prove that that outcome is identical whether Romney or Obama, Hillary or Trump, Hitler or Hindenburg is elected. I don't believe that. It doesn't take a whole lot of time or energy to cast a vote, so the argument that you're freeing up time to do something better is nonsense.

Thu, 12/31/2015 - 14:18 | 6982529 crossroaddemon
crossroaddemon's picture

There's another matter... your vote is tantamount to consent to be governed. i do not give that consent.

And no i can't prove it... but i believe it. The next president has already been chosen and we do not get a say.

Thu, 12/31/2015 - 14:29 | 6982578 Zoomorph
Zoomorph's picture

Being governed is something that will happen whether you give consent or not, so don't worry about it!

It's very convenient for you opponents that you believe in defeatism and your own powerlessness. It's not very good for you and for causes you support.

Thu, 12/31/2015 - 14:57 | 6982724 crossroaddemon
crossroaddemon's picture

Oh no, it's convenient for our oponents that people like you keep believing in the system so there wuill never be enough of us to do the only thing which will help... which is to destroy saod system.

Thu, 12/31/2015 - 15:16 | 6982843 Zoomorph
Zoomorph's picture

I'd be happy to destroy the system, but we aren't strong enough to do that yet. In the meantime, we have to do what we can to fight for and grow our cause, including using the system to our advantage and trying to prevent our opponents from using the system to their further advantage.

I'm happy to hear any alternative ideas you have on how to best spend our time and energy, but I think voting for the best candidate is a very quick and easy and important way for us to prevent our worst candidate (people like Hillary) from getting in power and furthering the cause against us.

Thu, 12/31/2015 - 15:26 | 6982901 crossroaddemon
crossroaddemon's picture

Well, that depends on the premises you pick, doesn't it? Me, I've become very much convinced of the existence of the deep state. This is the result of over a decade of observation and thought. If the deep stte is a reality then it makes zero diffeence whether Trump or Clinton is in power because the same fucksticks are going to be running the show. I think the people who waste their hate on Obama are crazy; save your vitriol for those who pull his strings.

Better uses of our time? Look... what was Occupy Wall Street really about? those poor naive kids were protesting because tehy can't get the things they need without going through corrupt institutions. Can't Get a car loan or a house without involving big finance, can't eat without giving money to big ag, on and on and on. My contention is this: Wall Street has no need or incentive to change despite a more or less universal agreemnet that it is corrupt, because there is no competition. Until we have alternative ways of getting the things we need, we have no leverage to do anything but shout into the wind. THIS is what all our efforts must be focused towards.

Thu, 12/31/2015 - 19:00 | 6983765 Zoomorph
Zoomorph's picture

It still makes a difference because if someone like Trump is elected who refuses to comply with the deep state, they would be in a perfect position to expose them and call for, say, a revolution. On the other hand, if someone like Hillary is elected who probably belongs to and fully supports the deep state, the illusion will continue on.

Proof?  The rapidity with which TARP was jammed through in spite of 85-95% public disapproval.  Notice that any of the shit that benefits the elites never gets debated (Think Patriot Act).

The shit that doesn't matter gets hand-wrung into oblivion just to obfuscate and divide.

Read "War is a Racket" and ask yourself if it's likely anything has changed.  My answer is that, if anything, it's gotten worse.

The national election is determined by Diebold and the owners of our government.  Even now, the GOP is working on making sure Trump does not win the election; planning a brokered convention to put a Bush/Rubio/Cruz in orifice despite what the popular vote says.  They pretty much did the same thing to Ron Paul by excluding him from any serious consideration back in 2012.  Which made me register, election day, as a Libertarian.

The two main political parties are owned by the same handful of people that are the super-wealthy.  Frankly, fuck them: the parties and the oligarchs can rot in hell after the guillotine.

If you have any faith that your vote actually matters at the national and, possibly, state level; you're naive.  I now only vote on local issues.  For state and national races I write in Scrooge McDuck for every position to prove that I voted, without any question of hanging chads or intent or that my pencil rested on a choice.

If you're right then it seems to me that we should support Trump. In doing so we'll make things more difficult for the owners of the government. If Trump is the forerunner and they shut him down, we'll have proven that the system is rigged. If they don't or can't shut him down, we'll have elected the best candidate. Supporting Trump seems like the best option, doesn't it?

We are, after all, a Republic - not a democracy.  The Founding Fathers never intended that the little folks would have a say in electing Presidents - beyond whatever attention the State representatives might have paid to local preferences.  Based on the original setup, the state representatives in national elections were free to vote however they saw fit.

I can't believe that so many here are so defeated. They long for a good president (they complain about bad presidents endlessly), but they're so jaded that they won't allow themselves to get involved or to show the slightest support for any candidate over any other candidate. They relinquish all responsibility for selecting the next president, loudly proclaim that nothing matters because the next president will suck either way, and then it becomes a self-fullfilling prophecy when the noisy minority that they relinquished their power to elects another bad president.

I can remember as far back as Walter Cronkite every night saying "that's the way it is" and everyone damn sure as hell believed it.

But guess what? That was all a lie.

But if you were to even hint at the possibility that Sir Walter was maybe a little less than 100% truthful, you would have been drawn and quartered.

Hence the truthfulness of the opening statement.

I was reading some stuff about the North during the Civil War and Washington DC.  This was right after the war before lincoln was killed by a group just like JFK.

Washington and the surrounding area sounded like a police state aka the old USSR or worse.  The intrigue, dishonesty, corruption and evil was just as great if not greater.

The Deep State runs everything in the land of the free.  Elections do not matter.  Trump will do the bidding of the Deep State if elected.

Elections are held to keep up the appearances of freedom and democracy.  The best slave is one who thinks he is free.

Essay: Anatomy of the Deep State

There is the visible government situated around the Mall in Washington, and then there is another, more shadowy, more indefinable government that is not explained in Civics 101 or observable to tourists at the White House or the Capitol. The former is traditional Washington partisan politics: the tip of the iceberg that a public watching C-SPAN sees daily and which is theoretically controllable via elections. The subsurface part of the iceberg I shall call the Deep State, which operates according to its own compass heading regardless of who is formally in power.

they are SCARED TO DEATH to face trump 1-on-1; they were DYING to have it jeb V her because THEY KNEW (and were right) that he would have LOST to her 51-49; it would have been "ohhh so close" ... horseshit - winning is winning & losing is losing. just like ricky bobby's dad said "either ur first or your last".

once trump gets the nomination, theres no-way he's losing. he's like a dog that is now smelling the bone & once he latches those jaws on, he aint letting go.

for this, i love the fact that he walked her into the trap of the sexism conversation; EVERYTHING trump does has a plan behind it. he SCHLONGED her into pulling bill into the conversation. now, the laundry list of women bill fucked is out there + the fact hillary got a child rapist off when she was a lawyer & laughed about it. oh, and they destroyed monica lewinsky's life. if im trump, i bring her & all the women bubba fucked out on the campaign trail so they can tell their story.

Political delusions are strong in America and even here on ZH.

Hate to break it to you but voting for President doesn't matter (chosen by the Electoral College) and Trump is not going to get elected.

Yes, I did. The Electoral College elects the President and the VP, not the public vote.

Very true,,, most of the morons don't know that the electors are not required to vote the "will of the People",,, don't have a clue why there is a electoral college process.

Your downvotes is a perfect example of the intelligence of today's electorate.

Not laziness. A deliberate withholding of consent. If you're voting, you're asking for whatever they do to you. if nobody votes it's true that they still have authority over us but neither side can any longer pretend that authority is not obtained at gunpoint.

Besides, do you really think they let you pick the president? They've already picked the winne the rest is just theater anyway.

maybe it' time to give up. I firmly believe that the deep state is undefeatable at this point in the game. There is no hope. Big systems are inherently tyrannical and we have no hope of getting away from big systems in the near future.

Been listening to these your vote counts morons for sixty years. And after each election all you hear is the bitching and whining as things ALWAYS get progressively worse. Like a tape recorder, every four years they rewind and spew the same tired shit. Get out and vote for the Commie or Fascist of your choice. Then Diebold flips the votes to the correct candidate and voila! Another four years of shit and wars. Their jobs, money and pride have been stolen by the political assholes yet they clamor for more. By the time they figure it out (if ever) it'll be too late for us all.

Dude. WE LOST. We probably lost three or four generations ago because our great grandparents were too dumb to recognize a war when they saw it. The system isn't broken; it works as intended. It cannot be fixed; our only hope is to destroy it. And our odds of doing that are slim going on zero at this point.

Its worth it to give Donald a chance. He's really our only chance to fight back. Anyway, I understand what your saying. But there is a chance that he is not owned, bought and compromised. I get the feeling he can't be blackmailed. He just doesn't give a fuck. Honey Badger, he don't care!

well, obviously I don't agree. If you believe in the reality of the deep state (and I do) then it logically follows that no presidential hopeful has a snowflake's chance in hell of the election if he's not part of the club. I contend that the media would be blacklisting him if he wasn't owned/bought/compromised.

Beyond that, even if Trump is above board and would be allowed to take office and not get assisinated (none of which I believe for a second), an elected official is a chance to fight back only if you believe the sytem itself is savable or even worth saving. I dont.

No one cares about your vote either. The state wins either way. It's all about appearances, to make voters think they have control when they don't. A vote for either candidate is a vote for expansion of the state.

bernie just shows how far off the ranch the dems wandered. bernie is a paleodemocrat, advocate for the middle class, the role the dems abandoned because of reagan. the people have been voting republican, regardless of party since then.

on the other hand, trump is reigning in the batshitcrazy wing of the republicans.

this has been the best presidential campaign since 1968 because of what those two are doing to their respective parties and the entire political landscape.

I think we need to elect Mr. Yellen for president.  The Fed should have more control over Americans' lives.

They should have direct access to NSA phone and interet communications, more control over world markets and the prices we pay for everything, and control on what laws are passed.   They should be granted supreme power, and should immediately get rid of the other branches of government.   They would never use this power against humanity.  They only care about Main Street after all.

He might flounce off at the last minute and run as an independent, but my money is on him copying Blankein/Dimon and announcing he has a "highly-curable" health condition that means he has to pull out of the race at the last minute.

TRUMP 2016

Fed up with liars, corruption and politicians beholden to corporations, special interest groups, Wall Street, super pacs, and not us the hard working, tax paying citizens.

Fed up with neocon warmongers deeply entrenched in both parties that are pushing US foreign policy and NATO towards WWIII.

Fed up with our dickless moron leaders consistently feeding us climate change bullshit as though any of this will matter during the 20,000 year long nuclear winter caused by the neocon's senseless war with Russia.

Fed up with anything "politically correct" and our spineless, dickless politicians that are too afraid to tell the truth and say what they really feel. Fed up with trillions of our hard earned taxpayer dollars going to countries that hate us. Like hundreds of millions of dollars going to so-called moderate maggots that will "next week" give this money to Al Qaeda or ISIS when they switch alliances. These same politicians giving away our money to maggots don't give a shit about homeless veterans, our crumbling infrastructure and the Social Security fund that will be bankrupt for baby boomers.

Fed up with politicians that feel they are "dynastically entitled" to be president. Bush & Clinton!

Fed up with business as usual in Washington, DC.

I know we will be proven correct a year from now when some other asshole is shoved down our throats. That is notbeing  defeatist, but a realist. This fraud ridden and corrupt political system must collapse before real and lasting change can come.

Trump 's role is to soak up airtime as a buffon so no other R can gain traction. Esp. Bush and Christie. It already workd when Scott Walker dropped out

Sanders' role is to deliver his Proggie sheep back to Hillary when he runs out of cash and time
