A Close Up Of The Market Ripple Which Stopped Stocks Tumbling At 11:01 am
A funny thing happened at 1101ET. Amid the deep plunge in stocks, 'someone' suddenly traded an enormous block of e-mini S&P futures which appeared to stall the sell-off (for now). This followed a similar (but smaller) block trade at 1042ET which also extracted all the liquidity from the market momentarily and enabled a brief rally.
That is twice we have seen a big block followed by a rally in futures...
and a close up shows the shocking ripple as liquidity was sucked away by the huge block trade...

The blockchain, like the internet itself, is massively distributed. So presumably the blockchain would survive anything short of total 100% annihilation of the internet.
Your particular bitcoins, however, might not survive, unless you keep a non-electronic--i.e., paper-- backup.
But more importantly, in the event that an EMP cripples the internet, you will have MUCH bigger problems than wondering what happened to your bitcoins, or how to use them. If you think an EMP is inevitable, then you'd be stupid to rely on the internet for anything-- including keeping your money safe.
It's worth pointing out that in the event of an EMP, your electronic dollars would be completely wiped out as well.

Pretty much an open secret at this point. Always interesting to watch what was once scorned as wild eyed crazy talk becomes accepted 'knowledge' in a few short years. One measure of the acceleration in the toilet bowl swirl is when years shorten to months, then weeks, then days.
